Known particularly for being an experienced action director, he was chosen by David Production producer, Hisataka Kasama, to tackle the series' notably unique and difficult-to-adapt style with Tsuda.
Kenichi Suzuki started his career as an office worker until he decided he wanted to work in the animation field. He became a CG animator, and that eventually led to him becoming a director.

- As directors, both Suzuki and Naokatsu Tsuda were big fans of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga prior to their positions on the TV Anime. Tsuda notes that he likely would have refused the director role had Suzuki not joined him, as trying to capture "both the strength and fun of the original manga" would have been impossible on his own.
