Biography
Hidenobu Kiuchi was born in Kobe, Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan on February 5, 1969. Growing up, he would watch shows like Yoshimoto Shinkigeki and enroll in drama-related extracurricular activities, which over time cultivated his interest in acting.
After failing the practical exam of his university's theatre department, Kiuchi relocated to Tokyo and joined a theatrical troupe founded by friends he met during the exam.[4] Even after the troupe disbanded years later, Kiuchi would continue to work as a freelance stage actor until one of his old colleagues invited him to join an animation-related startup company, which is where Kiuchi's career in voice acting began.[5]
He made his debut with the animated adaptation of KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops in 1996 and has since then voiced in numerous anime series. Originating from the region, Kiuchi is known to speak in a Kansai dialect[6] and very frequently participates in Japanese dubs of western shows, such as voicing Ant-man in Marvel-related media or Peter in The Chronicles of Narnia. In 2013, he became a member of "OFFICE OSAWA Co.,Ltd.", a Japanese talent agency.
