Yoku Shioya
Yoku Shioya (塩屋 翼, Shioya Yoku), real name Tsubasa Shioya,[1] is a Japanese voice actor and actor who voices Will Anthonio Zeppeli in the first season of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: The Animation.
He is also known for voicing Triton in Triton of the Sea, Oguni Gensai in Rurouni Kenshin, Ryota Miyagi in Slam Dunk, and Jinpei in Science Ninja Team Gatchaman.
Biography
Yoku Shioya was born in June 24, 1958, in the Kagoshima prefecture. At the age of eight, he joined the Himawari Theatre Group. He also worked for other talent agencies like Aoni Production or Wit Promotion[2] or Kyu Production.[3] He debuted his career in voice acting at the age of 14, appearing in the anime Tsubasa no Jinpei, and since then has appeared in over 3000 works. Shioya then also became a sound director.[4]
Yoji Ueda says he is indebted to Yoku Shioya, as Shioya was the sound director of the anime that Ueda debuted in. Shioya taught him a lot in many of his early works, including the basics of voice acting.[5]
On January 9, 2017, he was selected as the 19th place in the emission "200 popular voice actors seriously selected! Voice actor general election! 3 hours SP" broadcast on TV Asahi.[6]
