Yong Yea is a South Korean and American voice actor. He is notable for voicing Enrico Pucci and the 'Tom Cruise' guard in the anime adaptation of Stone Ocean.

Yea is additionally a YouTuber with over one million subscribers, posting videos related to video game news and reviews.

He is also known for his other roles such as Madeleine Cookie in Cookie Run: Kingdom, the Berseker Stag enemies in God of War Ragnarök, a few NPCs in Genshin Impact including Jingming and Xiaoyan, Hyperion in Beyblade Burst Surge, Vince Ackerman in The Lyosacks Movie, and Kazuma Kiryu in Yakuza series. In the Death Battle web series, he voiced Sanji from One Piece and Homelander from The Boys.

Biography

Yong Yea was born to Korean parents and raised in Venezuela before he moved to America at the age of 14. Throughout high school and college, he performed in theater which led to his love of acting.[2] On January 26, 2012, he created his YouTube channel, with his first video about Skyrim NPCs uploaded three days later.[3]

Throughout the years, he earned a successful career as a gaming YouTuber with over 1 million subscribers. He decided to pursue voice acting professionally in 2019 and moved to Los Angeles,[4] with The Last of Us being one of his biggest inspirations.[5]

His first official anime debut was in early 2020 as March Marbas in Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-Kun, directed by Jalen K. Cassell.[6]

In April 2020, Yea posted a video on Twitter doing voice overs for several characters requested by fans, including DIO and old Joseph Joestar.[7]

On December 1, 2021, during the launch of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean anime on Netflix, Yea announced his role as Enrico Pucci by uploading a short video on Twitter holding up a DISC.[8] He later posted a longer announcement stating that JoJo's Bizarre Adventure was one of the series that he hoped to be part of some day when he first began pursuing voice acting professionally.[9]

  • When Yong received word he was voicing Whitesnake, he assumed it was just Whitesnake and not Pucci as well. However, mid-recording session, he was told he also voiced Pucci, which took him by surprise.[11]
  • When asked what is his favorite line recorded in anime he answered shouting out loud Made in Heaven.[12]
