Megumi Itoi (糸井 恵, Itoi Megumi) is a Japanese animator credited for her work on the TV adaptation of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure by David Production. Her contributions include animation directing and assistance, key animation and promotional illustrations for the first four seasons.

Biography

Itoi was born on February 25, 1988. She has worked on the TV adaptation of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure as a freelancer starting in season 1, doing animation direction work on Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency. She later worked on the following seasons of the JoJo TV anime, doing similar work on Stardust Crusaders, Diamond is Unbreakable and Golden Wind. She has one son and likes cats.

Itoi has stated before on her personal Twitter page that she suffers from a chronic disease that has affected her for many years. It appears to affect her arms and she has a 2nd degree disability certificate (障害者手帳2級).

In early 2022, Itoi's unstable medical condition significantly worsened, becoming almost terminal after she watched many news reports about the conflict in Ukraine, and her weight was only 39 kilograms. In 2023 she posted that she had gotten proper medical care, and her condition has gotten better.

She has returned to work on projects related to the JoJo TV anime in late 2023, drawing several promo artworks for Bandai Candy's JoJo wafer cards as well as Moschino's design for the Escape from JoJo's Bizarre Nightmare escape room.
