Daisuke Hasegawa (ハセガワ ダイスケ, Hasegawa Daisuke) is a Japanese singer-songwriter and performer, usually playing electric guitar or choral singing. As part of a duet with Karen Aoki, he sings "Great Days", the third opening theme song for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Diamond is Unbreakable. As a solo artist, he sings "Requiem for a Traitor", the second opening theme song for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind and he has also contributed vocals to various tracks on the Stardust Crusaders, Diamond is Unbreakable, and Golden Wind original soundtracks.
Biography
Early Life
Daisuke Hasegawa was born in Kanagawa Prefecture located in Kantō region of Japan. He was interested in music since childhood, and got his own guitar in junior high school. He wrote his own songs and compositions for the first time in his second year of junior high school (8th grade). As a high school student, he participated in the "Sounds of JOY Gospel Choir" in Machida, Tokyo.[1]
Professional work
After graduating, he moved to Texas for one year and studied English. Being good at arranging chorus, he participates as chorus in many soundtracks for dramas, movies, anime, news, and video games.
In August 2014, he became recognized with his solo vocalist debut in "G no Senkou", the ending theme of Gundam Reconguista in G.[1]
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
In 2015, Hasegawa played the electric guitar in songs featured in the Stardust Crusaders (World) and Stardust Crusaders (Destination) soundtracks.
He was later chosen as a singer for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable in 2016. He performed electric guitar and vocals for various songs in the Diamond is Unbreakable ~Good Morning Morioh Cho!~ and Diamond is Unbreakable ~Good Night Morioh Cho!~ soundtracks, including "Morioh Town Radio" and "YOU ARE MY WOMAN/Alex Reid", in addition to singing "Great Days" alongside Karen Aoki.
JO☆UNITED
On December 24, 2016, Daisuke Hasegawa joined JO☆STARS to temporarily form "JO☆UNITED". The supergroup, comprised of Hasegawa, Hiroaki "TOMMY" Tominaga, Coda, Jin Hashimoto, THE DU, batta, and Karen Aoki, performed "Great Days -Units Ver.-" for the final episode of Diamond is Unbreakable.
Golden Wind and Stone Ocean
In 2018 and 2019, Hasegawa returned to lend his vocal talents to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind. His first contribution was vocals on "canzoni preferite" on the Golden Wind: Overture soundtrack. He then performed the second opening theme, "Requiem for a Traitor", as a solo artist. He also performed vocals for various tracks in the Golden Wind: Intermezzo and Golden Wind: Finale soundtracks. Hasegawa also provided chorus vocals for various tracks on Stone Ocean O.S.T., the soundtrack to the following season, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean.
