Original

Once upon a time, 300 years ago
Two queens fought for the throne
Queen Elizabeth I,
and the beautiful Mary Stuart
To Mary were their swords devoted—
The two heroes of legend
Tarukasu, sono chikara / Waga ken
Batā no yō ni iwa o kiru
Burafōdo, sono waza to kokoro / Waga waza to kokoro

Tarkus's power / This sword of mine
Cuts through rock and butter alike
Bruford's tricks and mind / These tricks and mind of mine
Allow for endless ways to strike
Miyori no nai futari, sono chikara kitaeta
Tomariki o motomete
Mearī no jiai ni, yasuragi o mitsuke
Chūsei o chikatta
Having no family, these two honed their strength
Searching only for a place to rest
In Mary's familial love, they found their peace
They swore loyalty to her alone

The two heroes refused to be stopped
Until they rescued their Mary
In order to stop the two heroes
Elizabeth gave an ultimatum:
"You two! Surrender yourselves immediately,
and I guarantee your master's safety!"
Ware-ra ni kotowareru hazu mo nashi

We have no reason to refuse such a plea
We have no regrets—our lives exist only for our queen

Uoooooooh!
You've betrayed us, Elizabeth!
With this grudge, we curse you all!
We curse you for eternity!

In Tarkus's rage, his muscles turned to iron,
and they struggled to cut off his head
In Bruford's regret, his hair tangled itself,
almost as if it were alive
They lived by their hearts until the end
That is the knights' tale

Do they see the stars, or the mud?
Either could...
