Englishman George Joestar mistakenly assumes Dario Brando had saved his life during a carriage accident, and decides to adopt his son, Dio. Heir to the Joestar Estate, Jonathan Joestar, attempts to befriend Dio, but Dio's plan from the start is to drive JoJo to madness and earn George's trust so that he can become the heir to the Joestar fortune. Dio violently beats JoJo in a boxing match, turns his friends against him, steals his girlfriend Erina's first kiss, and even burns his dog Danny to death in an incinerator.
Seven years have passed since Dio came to the Joestar mansion. George is shown to be sick in bed. At first it was thought to be a common cold, but it seems to be getting worse. Jonathan learns that Dio killed his father, Dario, and he is trying to use the same poison to kill George. After confronting Dio, Jonathan goes to London searching for the origin of the poison not knowing what awaits him there.
Having found an antidote and given it to his father, JoJo prepares to turn Dio in to the police. Dio tries to get JoJo's guard down by saying he will turn himself in, but Speedwagon, who has followed JoJo from London, sees through Dio's lies, presenting the druggist who sold Dio the poison, whilst George reveals that he has heard everything. As JoJo attempts to handcuff Dio, Dio attempts to stab him, only to stab George who got in the way to protect JoJo. With George's blood, he activates the Stone Mask on himself before the police shoot him. Before George passes away, he tells his son not to blame Dio, saying it was his fault for not being able to see through Dio's earlier treachery and apologizes for having been too harsh for his son. Just then, Dio comes back to life as a vampire, proving invincible to firearms and draining the blood of one of the cops. As JoJo prepares to fight Dio, believing he can defeat him by destroying his brain, the cop reanimates as a zombie, though JoJo manages to kill it quickly. As several attempts to kill Dio fail, JoJo sets the mansion ablaze and leads Dio to the roof so Speedwagon can escape. JoJo attempts to kill Dio with a suicide attack, dragging him into the flames of the mansion with him and manages to use the mansions layout to both land safely and impale Dio on a statue, assuming that he has been killed. Wang Chan later attempts to salvage the mask from the burnt ruins, but Dio's charred hand emerges and drains his blood.
With the battle between him and Dio over, Jonathan spends the next few days with his long lost childhood romance, Erina, who had returned to tend to his injuries. While the two are out for a walk, a strange man by the name of Will Anthonio Zeppeli appears and heals Jonathan's broken arm. He warns Jonathan that Dio is still alive and the only way to defeat him and the Stone Mask is through an old fighting technique known the "Ripple." Zeppeli spends the next few days training Jonathan and soon after Jonathan, Zeppeli as well as Speedwagon set off on their journey to the town of Windknight's Lot, where Dio lies. On the road there, the group encounters Jack the Ripper, who has been turned into a zombie and a faithful servant of Dio. With Zeppeli's help, Jonathan manages to learn the secret of the Ripple overdrive and defeat Jack.
Upon arriving in Windknights Lot, JoJo's group is pick-pocketed by a talented young boy named Poco who JoJo and Zeppeli manage to catch using their Ripple powers. However, as the sun falls, they find themselves confronted by Dio, who had hypnotized Poco to lure JoJo's group to the graveyard where they are attacked by his legion of zombies. Zeppeli attempts to use his Ripple attacks on Dio, but Dio counters by freezing his veins. Jonathan attempts a quick defense, but both him and Zeppeli are easily defeated. Dio then summons the two undead legendary Dark Knights, Tarkus and Bruford to finish the job. Dio allows Bruford to solo Jonathan and the two commence their battle.
After having barely managed to avoid JoJo's underwater overdrive, Bruford ensnares JoJo with his hair once more. However, JoJo manages to block Bruford's attack and channels an overdrive through a kick into Bruford's sword, which causes one of his arms to disintegrate. From here, Jonathan is able to escape, and unleashes a sunlight yellow overdrive barrage against him. As Bruford's body starts to disintegrate, he regains his human soul, feeling at peace and leaving JoJo his sword before completely disintegrating. Tarkus then attacks, but JoJo and Zeppeli manage to get Speedwagon and Poco to safety using a bunch of leaves as a hang glider. As they make their escape, Zeppeli recalls how he learned to control the Ripple from a man named Tonpetty. Tarkus leaps after them, causing them to touch down at a knight's training ground in order to stand against him. Tarkus manages to crash into one of the outer walls and enters the training grounds first. JoJo is pulled inside the grounds, thrusting him into a Chain Neck Deathmatch, in which one must decapitate the other in order to free himself. Realizing JoJo will be killed if no one does anything, Poco overcomes his nerves and enters the grounds via a window, managing to unlock the door so Zeppeli can get inside.
Zeppeli recalls how Tonpetty foretold where his death would take place; the description fits with the very place he is at that moment. Knowing this, Zeppeli fights against Tarkus with the intention of finding a way to free JoJo. However, Tarkus ensnares him with a chain and rips his body into two. Using the last of his strength, Zeppeli transfers the last of his Ripple energy to Jonathan, allowing him to heal his injuries, break free from his chains, and defeat Tarkus easily. Following the battle, Zeppeli tells JoJo that he has accepted his fate and has passed his will onto him before passing away. As JoJo, Speedwagon , and Poco make their way back to Windknights Lot , they encounter Mr. Adams, one of the villagers who at first reacts friendly to their arrival, but his urge for blood reveals his true nature as a zombie. He attacks Poco with his tongue, but Jonathan defeats him easily by taking his tongue and stomping on his face using the Ripple. A moment later, a stranger attacks Jonathan with a kick that restraints both his arms. Jonathan, surprised at first, manages to evade by counterattacking with a headbutt. Before the battle continues, the stranger confesses that he is a human and only wanted to test Jonathan's power. He introduces himself as Dire, one of Zeppeli's Friend and a Ripple user. Straizo, another student, makes his entry and shortly after him, Master Tonpetty. Along with his students, he joins JoJo on his journey. Meanwhile, it is revealed that Poco's sister has been kidnapped by Dio.

After defeating the monster Doobie and saving Poco's sister, Jonathan climbs the stairs and reaches the final room where Dio awaits. Jonathan challenges Dio to one final match to avenge the death of his friends. However Dire pushes Jonathan out of way and challenges Dio himself but is killed after Dio freezes his legs and shatters him. Dire's head manages to survive and launches a Ripple infused rose, impaling Dio in his right eye. This gives Jonathan idea; in order to combat Dio's freezing by contact technique, Jonathan infuses the the sword he had received earlier, Luck & Pluck, with the Ripple. As the battle begins, Jonathan cuts Dio's arm off and cuts him in half. Dio manages to break Luck & Pluck after freezing Jonathan's arm and the two unleash one final attack at each other. Jonathan's double fist overdrive succeeds and Dio falls off the ledge and slowly melts away.
As Dio falls following his battle with JoJo, he decapitates himself before the Ripple reaches his head, which is recovered by his zombie servant Wang Chan. Meanwhile, with the Stone Mask destroyed, JoJo marries Erina and they head off on a honeymoon to America on a cruise across the Atlantic Ocean. As JoJo and Erina enjoy their cruise, JoJo discovers that Wang Chan has snuck aboard, meaning Dio is still alive. As JoJo comes face to face with Dio, who wants his body to replace his own, Erina arrives on the scene just as JoJo receives a near-fatal attack to his neck. Meanwhile, the ship starts to run amock with zombies after Wang Chan spreads the infection. Using the last Ripple energy he has, JoJo manages to decapitate Wang Chan, making his body obstruct a piece of the cruise ship's mechanism, setting the ship on a path to explosion. As Erina resolves to die by JoJo's side, JoJo tells her to live on so she can protect a baby whose mother was killed. As the ship starts to explode, Dio makes a last ditch attempt to take JoJo's body, but JoJo stops him, passing away with Dio's head in his arms whilst Erina and the baby hide in Dio's bomb-proof coffin to protect them from the explosion. Erina is eventually rescued near the Canary Islands a day later, and vows to pass on the truth of what happened on that night, 8 February 1888, through the generations, starting with the child she conceived with JoJo before his untimely death.

It's been 49 years after Jonathan Joestar's death, and a much older looking Speedwagon and Straizo travel to Mexico to investigate a mysterious underground caverns. There they find it filled with similar Stone Masks to the one that was destroyed many years ago, as well a body integrated into a stone column. Meanwhile, in New York, Jonathan's grandson, Joseph Joestar (also nicknamed "JoJo"), saves a young African-American pick-pocket named Smokey Brown from some corrupt policemen using the Ripple. After saving him, Smokey tags along as Joseph and Erina head to a restaurant. Back in Mexico, Speedwagon is betrayed by Straizo, and presumably killed. Straizo had apparently envied the youth that the Stone Mask had granted Dio and dons one himself. After dealing with a mafia henchman at a restaurant, JoJo, Erina, and Smokey meet a mafia acquaintance of Speedwagon's who informs them that Speedwagon has been murdered by Straizo. Later that day, JoJo is confronted outside a cafe by Straizo, who had regained his youth as a vampire. Straizo plans to kill Joseph before he can unlock the full potential of the Ripple, but Joseph quickly pulls out a Tommy-Gun and promptly blasts Straizo through the cafe window.
As expected, Straizo recovers from Joseph Joestar's attack and uses the same high pressurized blood laser eye attack Dio used. Joseph dodges this attack using a mirror trick prepared in advance and, manages to attack Straizo with the Ripple. Straizo absorbs it using a scarf woven from beetle muscles, but JoJo manages to sneak some grenades onto his person. Despite being blown apart, the vampire pulls himself together. Smokey asks Joseph if he has some plan, but Joseph simply says to run away and does so. Straizo catches up with them in a bridge and takes a woman hostage in order to goad JoJo into facing him. Joseph finishes Straizo off with a punch and sends him flying off the bridge. Joseph grabs his hand and tries to get information out of him, but Straizo warns JoJo about a Pillar Man who will soon awaken before self destructing himself with his own Ripple. Meanwhile, it is revealed Speedwagon is alive and is being held captive in Mexico, where a German military general named Rudol von Stroheim interrogates him about the Pillar Man, which they have excavated from the cave and intend to revive. Meanwhile, JoJo also makes his way to Mexico, unaware that he is being followed by a strange assassin.
Joseph is confronted by one of Stroheim's men, Donovan, but manages to subdue him, learning that Speedwagon is still alive. He sneaks into the Nazi Base after attempting to seduce the guards by dressing as a girl. When that failed, he knocked them out and put on their uniform. Meanwhile, Stroheim manages to awaken the pillar man, naming him Santana, after the winds of Mexico. To test him, Stroheim sends a vampire after Santana, which he absorbs into his body to feed itself. To Stroheim's shock, Santana manages to escape his cell by twisting his body through the air vents and launches himself into the body of one of his men. The possessed Nazi becomes bloated and begins firing bullets from his finger. Just then, Joseph, who had managed to sneak into the base, reveals himself and tears out some of Stroheim's hair. Santana emerges from the body he had taken over and begins firing more bullets from his fingers. Joseph infuses Ripple into Stroheim's hair and throws it into the air, causing them to deflect all the bullets. Joseph removes his coat, revealing the Star Birthmark, and confronts Santana.

At first, Joseph attempts to make peace with Santana, but is instead greeted by an attack from Santana's ribs; this almost neutralizes Joseph had he not blocked the attack with his Ripple. Joseph realizes his attacks are not effective, so he feigns unconsciousness, and attacks Santana from the inside after the latter attempted to absorb him. With the Pillar Man in half, Joseph chains the upper portion, and tries to drag Santana to the entrance of the base to destroy the body using the sunlight. Unfortunately, Santana grabs hold of Joseph's leg and immobilizes him just before reaching the door. Stroheim comes from behind to help, but he too is ensnared. Joseph is forced to chop Stroheim's leg off as a request allowing Stroheim to open the door. However, Santana avoids the sunlight by seeping his way into the stub where Stroheim's leg was cut off. Stroheim walks on one leg into the sunlight and pulls out a grenade. From there, he tells Joseph that the Germans had uncovered other Pillar Men in Europe and that he must go to Rome to learn how to defeat them. With that said, Stroheim ignites the grenade and destroys his own body. As a last ditch effort, Santana attacks Joseph and the two go flying into a well. Joseph reveals that the water at the bottom of the well acts as another light source due to its ability to reflect sunlight. Being hit by sunlight in two directions, Santana turns into stone and is defeated.

Speedwagon brings statued remains of Santana to the headquarters of his foundation in Washington, D.C., where it is shown he is still alive, and has scientists keep his body under UV light. Realizing from Stroheim's words that there are three more powerful Pillar Men somewhere in Europe, Speedwagon takes Joseph to Rome to meet Zeppeli's grandson, Caesar, who is also skilled in using the Ripple. As Caesar questions Joseph's abilities, he fights against him using his own Ripple abilities formed from clothes filled with soapy water, encasing Joseph in a bubble, but Joseph manages to break free using a sneak attack. As Caesar makes plans for Joseph and Speedwagon to be taken to see where the Pillar Men are being kept, one of the Pillar Men, Wamuu, breaks free, killing a group of German soldiers and awakening his masters, Kars and Esidisi, a Pillar Man destroys half of Caesar's friend Mark's body simply by bumping into him as he is walking past. As Caesar is forced to use his Ripple to peacefully end Mark's suffering, he vows vengeance against the Pillar Men.
Caesar engages Wamuu in battle for killing Mark, using his Bubble Launcher technique to surround the Pillar Man in Ripple infused bubbles. Once Wamuu realizes he is facing a Ripple user he uses his mysterious headgear to unleash a wind that bursts all of the bubbles. However, his attack is not yet over, as the movement created hundreds of miniature tornadoes that shred Caesar's skin, leaving him incapacitated and temporarily blinded in one eye. His boasts that he need not see to fight the Pillar Men amuses them, as Ripple users of two millennia past said the same things to them before they killed them. Kars and Esidisi head to the surface, allowing Wamuu to finish Caesar off as the only Ripple user left, only for Joseph to make himself known, proclaiming that he has developed his own special Ripple technique using a pair of clackers that he channels the Ripple through. Wamuu allows him to fight, slicing through his wrist to the artery to make the battle last only a minute His first attack, the Ripple Clacker Volley, appears to miss its mark, embedding a steel ball into a pillar behind Wamuu, but this is all part of a ploy to engage his other technique, Clacker Boomerang, where he has thrown another Ripple empowered pair of clackers behind Wamuu, catching onto the original clacker, and actually landing a blow on Wamuu. Angered, Wamuu allows Joseph to continue to strike him with the clackers while he prepares his counter, the Divine Sandstorm. Wamuu claims his attack has been hindered by his eyesight and a pillar blocking Joseph, but Joseph is left barely alive. Playing dead, Joseph tries to run away, seemingly stranding Caesar and Speedwagon, but it is all a ploy to lure Wamuu away before he can kill the others. Joseph takes Wamuu on a mine cart ride through the ruins, intending to use a stick of dynamite to destroy him, but Wamuu anticipates these events and sends them flying, intending to kill Joseph for his insolence. However, Joseph proclaims that he could possibly be even stronger in a month's time, intriguing Wamuu, who decides to let Joseph live to get stronger with the Ripple in only a month, implanting a "Wedding Ring" in Joseph's body around his aorta that will release a deadly poison in 33 days' time, unless Joseph can get the antidote held in his lip piercing by killing him in battle. Esidisi, who has come to see what has been holding Wamuu up, also decides to enter in on the wager (after consuming the stick of dynamite before it explodes), implanting another poison-filled ring around Joseph's windpipe, with the antidote in his own nose piercing. Kars, however, passes on the game, and the Pillar Men leave in search of the Red Stone of Aja, and Joseph passes out from the strain of the battle. Caesar, who has been watching the whole time, realizes Joseph's resolve and promises to also get stronger with him.
Wanting to teach Joseph to control his Ripple powers, Caesar takes him to Venice to meet his teacher, Lisa Lisa. Lisa Lisa orders Joseph to wear a mask that limits his breathing for the duration of his training. To start their training, Lisa Lisa tasks Joseph and Caesar to climb the Hell Climb Pillar, a 24-meter pillar covered in oil, using only the Ripple or else starve to death. Observing Caesar's efforts, Joseph learns to climb up by focusing Ripple energy in his fingertips. As the days pass as they struggle to climb, Joseph assumes there's an easy break when he spots a crack in the pillar, but this turns out to be a trap, causing the pillar to start spewing oil at high pressures from its 20-meter mark. Caesar manages to break through the barrier by using Ripple energy to simultaneously grip the pillar with his feet and repel the barrier, eventually reaching the peak. Joseph eventually manages to get past by traveling across the barrier to its weakest point so he can leap over it. As Joseph ends up running out of breath at the last meter, Caesar helps him up. As Joseph becomes pleased with the results of his training and asks for the next test, Lisa Lisa brings in her servants, Messina and Loggins, to teach them how to master the Ripple over the next few weeks.
Lisa Lisa explains to Joseph and Caesar how the creator of the Stone Mask, Kars, is seeking a gem known as the Red Stone of Aja to power the Stone Mask and become the "Ultimate Thing". Lisa Lisa reveals she herself possesses this gem which can amplify the power of the Ripple into a powerful beam, saying that it is needed to defeat the Pillar Men. With a week left until the rings inside Joseph dissolve and kill him, Lisa Lisa pits Joseph and Caesar against Loggins and Messina respectively for their final lesson. However, when Joseph reaches his destination, he finds Loggins has been killed by Esidisi. Angered, Joseph decides to confront the Pillar Man over a bed of spikes. Thanks to an intricate trap, Joseph manages to use a wire set-up on Loggins to sever Esidisi's arm. However, Esidisi manages to repair himself by taking Loggins's arm before attacking Joseph with his burning blood. Despite nearly falling for a trap himself, Joseph manages to ensnare Esidisi in conductive wool thread and hit him with the Ripple, managing to destroy him and retrieve his antidote, safely dissolving the ring around his neck. Relieved, Joseph heads back to the castle, unaware that Esidisi's brain is clinging onto his back.

As Joseph awaits to warn Lisa Lisa about the Pillar Men, Esidisi's brain takes over the body of Suzi Q and sends the Super Aja off on a boat bound for Venice before confronting Lisa Lisa. Before Joseph and Caesar can pursue the boat, Esidisi stands in their way, knowing full well they can't kill him without killing Suzi Q as well. As Esidisi prepares to use his boiling blood to kill everyone in the room, Joseph and Caesar combine their Ripple, forcing Esidisi's brain out of Suzi Q without killing her and into the sunlight, where he burns into nothingness. After healing Suzi Q, Lisa Lisa learns from her that the Red Stone has been sent to St. Moritz in Switzerland, where Kars and Wamuu are waiting. Joseph promises Suzi Q that he'll see her again before he, Caesar, Lisa Lisa, and Messina head off to catch up to the mail train bound for Switzerland. Upon catching up to the train at customs, the Germans arrive and claim the Red Stone for themselves, inviting Joseph and the others to join them at their lodge. As Kars appears to attack the lodge, Joseph learns that the leader of the German group is none other than Stroheim, who has since become a cyborg.

Stroheim starts using his new mechanical body, which was designed to surpass Santana, to fight against Kars. However, it proves futile against Kars's blades, which cuts him down to size. As Kars attempts to retrieve the Red Stone, Stroheim fires a beam at him, sending the Red Stone sliding towards a cliff edge, forcing JoJo and Kars to chase after it. JoJo pulls off a trick to grab the Red Stone, but Kars pulls him off the cliff with him. JoJo manages to save himself by using the Red Stone as a shield and prevents his fall with help from Caesar. The next day, Caesar and the others discuss ambushing Kars's hideout before Wamuu arrives, but JoJo objects to it, believing it unwise to fight on their home turf, leading to him and Caesar getting into a fight. Feeling a sense of duty to his grandfather, Caesar decides to go alone, with Messina ordered to follow him, whilst Lisa Lisa explains to JoJo that Caesar has a secret past.
Lisa Lisa tells JoJo of Caesar's childhood, in which he took to crime at a young age after being abandoned by his debt-ridden father, Mario. However, when Caesar turned 16, Caesar came across the wall containing the Pillar Men, which was booby trapped by Kars. Mario saved Caesar from the trap, getting absorbed into the wall, but lived long enough to tell Caesar find Lisa Lisa and learn the Ripple. As Caesar arrives at the hotel, he is attacked by Wamuu, who is using streams of moist air to both protect him from the sunlight and reflect the light around him. Caesar launches an attack on Wamuu after he drags Messina into the hotel, but Wamuu manages to retreat inside the hotel, prompting Caesar to go in after him. Using a series of refractive bubble lenses, Caesar manages to redirect the sunlight inside the hotel to pin down Wamuu. However, Wamuu takes advantage of the split-second the sun is blotted by Caesar's attack to deliver a critical counter attack. Too injured to continue for the fight, Caesar uses the last of his strength to steal the piercing containing the antidote for the ring around JoJo's heart. He then uses his Final Ripple to create a blood bubble to deliver the piercing and his bandana to JoJo before being crushed by the collapsing ceiling. Wamuu, finding Caesar's fight and loyalty to be admirable, allows the bubble to remain. JoJo and Lisa Lisa are attracted to the hotel after Messina does not return, and unknowingly see the light of Caesar's Final Ripple. They discover the state of the hotel, finding the bubble with the antidote and Caesar's scarf, and soon realize that Caesar has died, and weep over the loss of their friend and ally.
Whilst following Wamuu's trail of blood, JoJo and Lisa Lisa encounter another vampire named Wired Beck, but Lisa Lisa manages to defeat him easily. As they press on, JoJo states he will not take the antidote he received until he has beaten Wamuu as a promise to Caesar. They soon arrive before Wamuu, where Kars is also waiting for them, along with a hundred vampire minions. Lisa Lisa manages to hold off their attack with a bluff saying that if both she and JoJo are killed, a time bomb will destroy the Red Stone. Thus, she proposes that JoJo fights against Wamuu whilst she fights against Kars with the Red Stone on the line. Wamuu and Kars arrange a place for the battle at midnight, keeping Lisa Lisa as insurance to make sure JoJo brings the Red Stone. Whilst retrieving the Red Stone, JoJo finds a picture of Erina from fifty years ago, becoming curious as to why Lisa Lisa would have it. Upon meeting at the arena, Lisa Lisa reveals that she was the baby that Erina rescued from the ship that fateful day, further explaining how she was raised by Straizo, who was the one who taught her about the Ripple and gave her the Red Stone. As JoJo and Wamuu's battle is revealed to be a chariot race using vampire horses, JoJo puts on Caesar's bandana and prepares to battle.
Before the match begins, it is revealed that during each lap, there will be a different weapon for whoever can grab it from a pillar first. JoJo manages to get a head-start by obstructing Wamuu's wheels with rubble, allowing him to get a hold of a sledgehammer. However, Wamuu grabs hold of the pillar itself, forcing JoJo to abandon his chariot, though JoJo manages to use the hammer to avoid getting trampled by Wamuu's horses. Wamuu launches an attack on JoJo by hiding in his horse, but JoJo manages to use his cunning to turn his sandstorm attack against him with the Ripple. In order to regain his focus, Wamuu gouges out his own eyes and grows a horn that can sense the wind in its place. As the second lap offers a pair of crossbows, JoJo ends up picking one that is too big for him to use whilst Wamuu uses the wind to guide his shots with the smaller crossbow, managing to hit JoJo's sides with a reflected shot. As he is thrown to the ground, he uses the momentum of the fall to cock his crossbow without the others noticing. JoJo appears cornered, but manages to hit Wamuu with a Ripple-charged shot from his crossbow by distracting his senses with pebbles. Wamuu makes a desperate last attack by firing his severed arms at JoJo to cut off his breathing before gathering up wind for his final attack.
Launching his Final Mode attack, Gathering Gale, which starts peeling away his own body, Wamuu begins firing a stream of wind capable of cutting Red Stone towards JoJo. After a failed attempt at attacking him with a firebomb, JoJo strikes at Wamuu with Caesar's flaming bandana, which Wamuu shreds with his wind. However, this is all parts of JoJo's plan, as both the oil from the bomb and the burning embers of Caesar's bandana are breathed in by Wamuu, causing him to explode from the inside. Deciding Wamuu's wounds from the Ripple are fatal, JoJo gives him some of his blood to ease his passing as a sign of respect, similar to the respect Wamuu showed Caesar. When the other vampires suddenly attack, Wamuu uses the last of his strength to kill them, not wanting them to interfere until the end. Upon Wamuu's request, JoJo drinks the antidote from his ring, allowing Wamuu to pass away with no regrets. It is soon time for Lisa Lisa's battle with Kars, with Lisa Lisa apparently getting the upper hand with her Ripple-infused scarf. However, Kars cheats by using a body double before stabbing Lisa Lisa from behind, showing no respect for the honor of battle unlike his compatriot Wamuu. After claiming the Red Stone of Aja for himself, Kars sends his vampire army after the weakened JoJo. However, he is rescued by Stroheim and his men, along with Speedwagon and Smokey, who use ultraviolet lights to fight off the vampires whilst JoJo goes to face Kars. As Kars uses Lisa Lisa to force JoJo into a vulnerable position, Smokey reveals that Lisa Lisa is in fact JoJo's mother.
Being forced to cling onto a rope to stop Lisa Lisa from falling to her death, Joseph is at a huge disadvantage against Kars. He manages to trick Kars however using an elaborate snare and pushes into the crystals below. A flashbacks initiates revealing Lisa Lisa' pasts beginning with her meeting and marriage with Air Force Pilot, George Joestar II. It is also revealed that soon after Joseph's birth, George was murdered by a zombie whom had presumably hidden away since the battle with Dio as an air force officer. When Elizabeth discovered the treachery, she hunted down the zombie and easily killed him with her Ripple powers, but she was caught in the act by an RAF official who thought she murdered a human in cold blood and burned the body to hide the evidence. Wanted throughout all of Europe, Elizabeth became a fugitive until she met with Speedwagon once more, using his foundation's resources erase all trace of her past, and placing her on Venice's Air Supplena Island where she changed her name to Lisa Lisa. Back at the present, Stroheim attempts to finish off Kars with multiple blasts of ultraviolet beam, but Kars suddenly puts on the Stone Mask with the Red Stone of Aja in place. Before Stroheim can call off the attack, the artificial sunlight from all the German soldiers and Speedwagon Foundation operatives channels through the Super Aja, activating the Stone Mask and sending its undiluted energy into Kars, who undergoes a dramatic transformation.
Kars demonstrates his new powers, turning his hand into a flesh-eating squirrel that deals damage to Stroheim. The sun rises, killing the rest of the vampire minions, but Kars remains standing, immune thanks to the power of the Red Stone. Joseph grabs the Red Stone and runs off with Smokey to lure Kars away from the others whilst thinking of a plan. Leaving Smokey behind before he can tell him about Lisa Lisa, Joseph boards a plane to lure Kars away further. Joseph theorizes he may be able to beat Kars if he drops him into a volcano and heads towards a volcanic island of Italy. As Speedwagon attempts to stop Joseph by telling him about Lisa Lisa, the feathers that Kars had launched on JoJo's plane turn into piranhas, which cause the plane to ignite and start to dive into the island. Joseph uses his parachute to lure Kars into the path of the plane as it heads towards the volcano's crater. Kars attempts to escape, but Stroheim appears inside the plane and stops him. He rescues Joseph once the plane explodes by sacrifices his own robotic legs when they hit the ground. The volcano begins to erupt, and Kars is flung into the lava and begins to melt.
Joseph's victory, along with his arm, is cut short when Kars manages to survive the volcano by forming a shield of air bubbles to protect him from its deadly lava. Joseph attempts to fight back, but becomes shocked to discover that Kars has also learned how to use the Ripple, and at a potency one hundred times more powerful than JoJo's, causing the protagonist's leg to start melting away. As Kars prepares to kill JoJo using his Ripple, JoJo subconsciously holds up the Red Stone of Aja just as Kars is about to strike, causing the island to erupt, launching both JoJo and Kars into the sky. Distracted by JoJo's severed arm hitting him, Kars is launched further into the sky by volcanic debris, pushing him outside of the Earth's gravitational pull. His body freezes, and with being unable to move and unable to die, Kars eventually stops thinking. JoJo miraculously survives re-entry and goes on to marry Suzi Q. Over 50 years later, JoJo is seen preparing to board a flight to Japan to see his daughter. Meanwhile, in a dark prison cell, a young man sits ominously.

In 1983, off the coast of the Canary Islands, a coffin with the word "DIO" engraved on the front is salvaged from the depths. Four years later, in Japan, a young man named Jotaro Kujo has willingly had himself incarcerated and refuses to leave his cell, believing himself to be possessed by an "evil spirit" which only he can see. Worried about her son, Jotaro's mother Holy Joestar summons the young man's grandfather, Joseph Joestar, from Japan, along with his Egyptian friend Muhammad Avdol. After Joseph fails to convince Jotaro, Muhammad Avdol reveals his own "evil spirit," Magician's Red, forcing Jotaro's psychic manifestation to fully appear. Joseph tells Jotaro about his new power, called a Stand, as well as its cause: the Joestar family's 100-year-old enemy DIO has risen from the ocean and seized Jonathan Joestar's body, as revealed by Joseph's Stand Hermit Purple. Elsewhere, DIO senses the presence of the Joestars and resolves to kill them.
As Jotaro walks to school, a deep cut suddenly appears on Jotaro's leg, causing him to fall down a flight of stairs. After barely saving himself with his Stand, Jotaro receives a handkerchief from a new transfer student named Noriaki Kakyoin, unaware that his Stand is the one responsible for his fall. Later, as Jotaro heads to the infirmary to treat the wound, his nurse suddenly stabs another student with a pen before attacking Jotaro. Kakyoin reappears and reveals that his Stand, Hierophant Green, has possessed the nurse's body. Jotaro uses his Stand to pull Hierophant Green out of the nurse's body, only to be attacked by its Emerald Splash technique. Despite being wounded by Hierophant Green's attack, Jotaro deflects the second barrage with his Stand and pummels Hierophant Green until Kakyoin loses consciousness. Jotaro takes Kakyoin back home to Joseph and Avdol for interrogation, but Joseph reveals that DIO implanted something into Kakyoin's forehead that will soon kill him.
Joseph reveals that the object on Kakyoin's forehead is a "flesh bud" with a tendril lodged in the young man's brain, influencing him into serving DIO. Avdol also reveals that DIO attempted to control him the same way, but the Egyptian barely managed to escape. Determined to save Kakyoin, Jotaro uses his Stand's precision to remove the flesh bud from Kakyoin's brain, despite the bud's attempts to invade Jotaro’s body. The next day, Holy suddenly collapses in the kitchen, lacking the willpower to control her own awakening Stand. Avdol realizes that Holy's Stand is slowly killing her, and estimates that she only has fifty days to live. As killing DIO is the only way to save her, Jotaro uses his Stand to analyze Joseph's photographs of DIO, deducing his location in the Aswan region of Egypt from the faint image of a regional fly. Kakyoin confirms their theory and decides to join the group out of gratitude and sympathy for Holy. The group boards a flight toward Egypt, but Joseph senses DIO's presence and suspects that there may be a Stand user on the plane.
As the group's plane passes over Taiwan, Jotaro and the others are awoken by the sound of a flying stag beetle. Avdol identifies it as the infamous Stand Tower of Gray, responsible for staging mass murders under the guise of tragic accidents. The enemy's speed outmatches even Star Platinum's as it quickly eliminates several passengers. Before an elderly passenger can raise the alarm, Kakyoin knocks him out and steps up to fight the Stand himself. Hierophant Green seems unable to match Tower of Gray's speed, but Kakyoin discreetly uses Hierophant Green's tentacles to impale it from beneath the nearby seats. Hierophant Green rips Tower of Gray apart, fatally wounding the elderly man from before, revealed to be the Stand user Gray Fly. Joseph discovers that the pilots have been killed, but he manages to land the plane safely off the coast of Hong Kong. The group decides to find an alternate way of reaching Egypt without putting innocent lives at risk, ultimately settling on travel by sea. As the group stops to eat in a restaurant, they are joined by French tourist Jean Pierre Polnareff, who soon reveals his loyalty to DIO, as well as his rapier-wielding Stand Silver Chariot.
Polnareff challenges Avdol to battle in the spacious Tiger Balm Garden. Avdol quickly gains the upper hand, but Polnareff has Silver Chariot shed its protective armor, allowing it to move at nearly the speed of light and produce afterimages of itself. Avdol overcomes Chariot's speed by using his Crossfire Hurricane Special technique to distract Chariot and attack Polnareff from underground. Polnareff, defeated and burning alive, refuses the opportunity to end his own life, resigning himself to burn to death. Realizing the man's chivalry, Avdol finds that Polnareff is under the control of another of DIO's flesh buds, which Jotaro quickly extracts. As the group approaches a boat prepared by the Speedwagon Foundation, Polnareff tells them that his true goal is to find and kill a Stand user with two right hands, who is responsible for the rape and murder of his younger sister Sherry. Realizing that the culprit is likely someone in DIO's employ, Polnareff decides to join the Joestar group on their journey to Egypt.
The group begins their three day journey towards Singapore, but discovers a young stowaway named Merlai Anne on board. The stowaway jumps overboard and is threatened by a shark, but Jotaro rescues the girl and barely escapes the marine Stand Dark Blue Moon. The ship's captain Tennille attempts to seize the girl, but Jotaro exposes him as an imposter. Captain Tennille then has Dark Blue Moon take Anne hostage and jump overboard with her, but Star Platinum saves the girl before she or the Stand can hit the water. However, barnacles appear on Star Platinum's arm, draining the Stand's strength and causing Jotaro to fall into the ocean. Now fighting on its home turf, Dark Blue Moon creates a deadly whirlpool using more of its barnacles. As the Stand closes in to attack, Jotaro focuses Star Platinum's power into its arm, allowing it to counterattack with its Star Finger technique. Dark Blue Moon is torn apart, and its user is left to a watery grave. Suddenly, several bombs planted by the imposter explode below the deck, forcing the group and crew to escape on emergency lifeboats. While drifting at sea, they come across a large freighter.
DIO shares his fears about the Joestar bloodline with his advisor Enya the Hag, who assures him that seven Stand-using assassins are en route to kill the Joestars. Meanwhile, the Joestar group boards the uninhabited freighter, finding only a caged orangutan named Forever. When the ship's machinery suddenly moves on its own to kill a sailor, Kakyoin uses Hierophant Green to search for life on the ship, without success. Later, as Anne takes a shower, Forever escapes from his cage, kills the remaining sailors, and corners her. Jotaro saves Anne and fights Forever, but finds himself attacked by various parts of the ship, revealed to be a shape-shifting Stand named Strength. The orangutan traps the Joestar party within the parts of the ship, but Star Platinum launches Jotaro's jacket button into Forever's skull with Star Finger before finishing the ape. With Forever defeated, Strength loses its form, forcing Jotaro and the others to escape back to their lifeboats. Upon hearing of Forever's defeat, Enya assures DIO that six other Stand Users lie in wait for the Joestar group; among them is her own son, the man with two right hands. Later, the Joestar group finally arrives in Singapore and checks into a hotel to plan the next leg of their trip.
Polnareff enters his hotel room, but realizes that one of DIO's assassins is hiding in his refrigerator. The assassin introduces himself as Devo the Cursed, but Polnareff seemingly incapacitates him within seconds. Polnareff calls Avdol and Joseph to inform them of the situation, but is suddenly strapped to the underside of his bed. The culprit is revealed to be a doll that Devo has possessed with his grudge-powered Stand, Ebony Devil. Unable to see his enemy, Polnareff struggles to fight the doll as it prepares to burn him to death. However, Polnareff manages to use the pieces of a shattered mirror to pinpoint the doll's location and incapacitate it. Polnareff attempts to interrogate Devo about the man with two right hands, but to no avail, inciting him to slice the doll apart and consequently kill Devo. As Polnareff and the Speedwagon Foundation deal with the local police, Joseph uses Hermit Purple on his room's television, managing to discover that Kakyoin is a traitor before DIO cuts off the feed and destroys the set.
Jotaro and Anne suspect that something is wrong with Kakyoin after he begins acting strangely and attacking civilians. Jotaro, believing Kakyoin to be possessed, punches him into a cable car, revealing him to be an imposter in the process. The imposter introduces himself as Rubber Soul, having disguised himself with his flesh-consuming Stand Yellow Temperance. Left at the station, Anne reports the situation to Joseph and Avdol, who are joined by the real Kakyoin. Jotaro struggles against Yellow Temperance's invincibility, finally defeating Rubber Soul by dragging him into the sea and forcing him to lower Yellow Temperance's guard to breathe. Pleading for his life, Rubber Soul reveals that DIO's next assassins wield the Stands Death, Empress, Emperor, and Hanged Man; the last of the group belongs to J. Geil, the man with two right hands. Rubber Soul reaches shore and makes a last-ditch attack, but Jotaro uses the sewer to launch him back into the water before pummeling him. Jotaro later rejoins the group as they continue their journey to India by train, unaware that Anne is following them in the next train car.

The Joestar group arrives in Calcutta, which presents a considerable culture shock. Polnareff visits a restaurant bathroom, only to be attacked by a Stand he can only see in the mirror. Realizing that the Stand, Hanged Man, belongs to none other than his target, Polnareff smashes the mirror and escapes. Afterwards, Polnareff splits from the group, determined to hunt down his sister's killer on his own despite Avdol's warnings. Elsewhere, the gunslinger assassin Hol Horse meets and teams up with J. Geil. The next day, Polnareff confronts Hol Horse, who fires at him. Hol Horse's Stand Emperor, allows him to adjust the trajectory of his bullets, allowing his bullet to dodge Silver Chariot's rapier. At the last moment, Polnareff is saved by Avdol, who attempts to incinerate the bullet. However, Avdol is stabbed in the back by Hanged Man, allowing the bullet to strike his forehead. Kakyoin arrives too late to save Avdol, and finds that, despite his harsh words, Polnareff is just as distraught over his friend's death.

J. Geil provokes Polnareff into attacking Hanged Man from within a glass window, allowing him to pin the Frenchman down with the broken shards of glass. Kakyoin narrowly saves Polnareff by firing an Emerald Splash at him, allowing the two to escape in a car. The two notice Hanged Man's reflection in the steering wheel, however, forcing them to crash the vehicle. Realizing that Hanged Man is a mere image that can jump between reflective surfaces, Polnareff wounds the Stand and tracks down J. Geil. However, J. Geil attracts a crowd of nearby beggars, trapping Polnareff and Kakyoin and attacking from within the beggars' eyes. Despite the dire circumstances, Kakyoin calmly takes out a gold coin and flips it into the air, attracting everyone's gaze. With Hanged Man's trajectory set, Polnareff slices the Stand down the middle and finishes off J. Geil. Hol Horse confronts the two, but soon realizes that J. Geil has died. Attempting to flee, the gunslinger is caught by Jotaro and Joseph, who have returned from burying Avdol. Polnareff prepares to execute Hol Horse, but is stopped by Hol Horse's lover, Nena, allowing him to escape. After treating Nena's wounds, Joseph urges the group to continue their journey toward Egypt, unaware that a drop of the woman's blood has caused a mysterious growth to appear on his arm.
Sensing J. Geil's death, Enya eagerly anticipates Empress's assault on the group. The Joestar group travels by bus towards Benares alongside Nena. Joseph goes to a local clinic to have the growth on his arm treated, but the growth kills the doctor, grows its own face, and reveals itself to be the Stand Empress. Empress alerts the police and implicates Joseph for the doctor's murder, putting him on the run. Joseph tries to fight off the Stand attached to his arm, but as a part of him it remains unaffected by his Ripple techniques. As the growth grows larger and stronger, Joseph uses his Stand to locate a barrel of coal tar, which he plunges his arm into. Although the Stand cannot suffocate, the coal tar solidifies around it, allowing Joseph to rip the immobilized Empress to shreds with Hermit Purple. Nena is also torn to shreds, revealing her true obese form. After regrouping with Jotaro and Kakyoin, Joseph and Polnareff decide to travel by car to Pakistan, unaware that they are being followed by another car.
While driving to Pakistan, the group encounters Anne once more and reluctantly decide to take her to the nearest airport. Continuing their journey, the group is repeatedly led into danger by a red car, which eventually corners them at a dead end and pushes them over a cliff. Kakyoin and Jotaro manage to save the group by hooking a winch to the other car, pulling themselves to safety and knocking the other car off the cliff in the process. Suddenly, a voice comes from their own car's radio and reveals the red car to be the Stand Wheel of Fortune. The Stand reemerges from the ground, destroys their vehicle, and reconstitutes itself. Using projectiles of gasoline and an electric spark, the Stand manages to set Jotaro ablaze, seemingly killing him. However, Jotaro avoids death by digging into the ground, using his coat as a decoy. Star Platinum assaults Wheel of Fortune apart, revealing its user ZZ. The group takes revenge by chaining ZZ to a rock and taking his car, which has reverted to its original dilapidated form. Meanwhile, a frustrated Enya decides to confront the group personally with her own Stand, Justice.
After Jotaro has a replacement coat made, Joseph manages to convince the runaway Anne to return to her home in Hong Kong. As the group continues toward Karachi, heavy fog shrouds the path ahead, forcing the group to stop in a nearby town. The group soon comes across a corpse riddled with bloodless holes, revealing the presence of a Stand user. Joseph attempts to return to the car, but almost impales himself on a fence in the dense fog. Enya makes her entrance, claiming to be an innocent old woman, and leads the group to a nearby hotel. Later, Hol Horse enters the hotel, having tracked the Joestar group. However, Enya takes revenge on him for abandoning J. Geil and cuts his wrist with scissors. Enya reveals that the fog itself is her Stand, Justice, allowing her to make a hole from his wound and control Hol Horse's arm like a puppet. Hol Horse summons Emperor to defend himself, only to shoot himself point-blank. With Hol Horse incapacitated, Enya sets her sights on Polnareff, her next target.
Polnareff arrives in the hotel's main hall, forcing Enya to hide Hol Horse before she can finish him off. Polnareff tries to converse with Enya, but unwittingly enrages her by mentioning her family. Hol Horse regains consciousness and warns Polnareff, but Enya reveals that all of the townspeople are zombies under Justice's control. Polnareff hides from the zombie horde in one of the hotel's bathrooms, but Enya baits him into looking through the keyhole and pierces his tongue. Polnareff is almost forced to lick a toilet bowl before Jotaro confronts Enya. Jotaro tricks Enya into revealing herself, having suspected her from the beginning and used a false name to sign the guest book. Enya sics her legion of zombies upon Jotaro, and despite Star Platinum's speed a baby manages to bite Jotaro's leg. Enya declares victory, but Star Platinum inhales Justice, suffocating the old woman until she passes out. The illusory town dissipates, revealing a mere graveyard. Hol Horse wastes no time in stealing the group's car, warning them to kill Enya while they can.
The Joestar group arrives in Karachi, dragging an unconscious Enya with them. Joseph orders some kebabs from a street vendor, but gets scammed in the process. Suddenly, Enya wakes up and recognizes the kebab vendor as Steely Dan, one of DIO's assassins. In response, Steely Dan kills Enya by activating a flesh bud that DIO had put inside of her without her knowledge. Joseph attempts to interrogate Enya, but she remains loyal to her master as she dies. The group confronts Dan, who reveals that his Stand, Lovers, has already infiltrated Joseph's brain. Lovers replicates the pain of any attack toward Dan in its host; moreover, Lovers has brought a flesh bud with it, intending to kill Joseph as it did Enya. With Joseph held hostage, Jotaro is forced to obey Steely Dan's orders. The other three heroes find a nearby television set, allowing the three of them to see inside Joseph's brain. Polnareff and Kakyoin shrink their Stands and send them inside of Joseph to destroy Lovers before it can destroy them.
Jotaro finds himself the temporary slave of Steely Dan, who continues to find inventive ways to humiliate Jotaro. Meanwhile, Silver Chariot and Hierophant Green reach Joseph's brain. Lovers proves to be a more formidable Stand than expected: having access to Joseph's brain cells, the Stand is able to disguise and create countless decoys of itself. However, Hierophant Green deploys its tentacles to detect and wound the real Lovers, forcing it to flee Joseph's brain. Lovers attempts to enter Jotaro's ear, but Star Platinum and Hierophant Green easily capture it. Having noted the various ways Dan humiliated him, Jotaro repays the debt the assassin has incurred by inflicting his most violent beatdown yet.
The Joestar Group reaches the United Arab Emirates. Planning to cross the Arabian desert, the group decides to go by camel. Departing into the desert, the group soon realizes that the sun is still up despite the lateness of the hour. The sun above their heads is revealed to be the Stand Sun, which bombards the group with lasers and forcing them to hide under a rock while suffering the scorching heat of the Sun. Eventually, all but Joseph begin to madly laugh, but not out of delirium: Star Platinum throws a stone toward the horizon, revealing that the enemy Stand user, Arabia Fats, has been hiding behind a plainly-visible mirror the entire time. With the user defeated, Sun disappears, revealing the night sky.
Kakyoin finds himself in a strange theme park, where he is attacked by the Stand Death Thirteen. Before the Stand can finish him, Polnareff wakes Kakyoin, who finds himself unable to remember his previous dream. The group decides to borrow a plane to fly across the desert, taking a sick baby named Mannish Boy with them to a nearby hospital. In the middle of the flight, Kakyoin and Polnareff fall asleep again and awake in the same theme park. The two are again attacked by Death Thirteen, but Kakyoin is left alone when Joseph wakes Polnareff to change the baby's diaper. Though Kakyoin cannot wake himself up, his body thrashes about in his sleep, cutting his own arm and causing Joseph to crash the plane. As the disappointed group prepares to camp for the night, Kakyoin sees the words "baby Stand" cut into his arm and begins to suspect Mannish Boy.
Kakyoin accuses the baby of being an enemy Stand user, but the group refuses to believe him. When he summons Hierophant Green to attack the infant, Polnareff is forced to knock him out. When the others eventually fall asleep, Death Thirteen traps them within its theme park and toys with them in preparation for their execution. However, Kakyoin reveals himself, having kept Hierophant Green active since he was knocked out. Death Thirteen attempts to cut the intruder in half, but Hierophant Green invades the enemy Stand and forces its user to heal his injuries and put an end to the nightmare. When the morning comes, nobody but Kakyoin remembers Death Thirteen's attack, and the young man gets his revenge by forcing Mannish Boy to eat his own feces.
Having reached the Red Sea, the group takes a detour to a lone island where Joseph visits Avdol's father. Still devastated by his comrade's death, Polnareff wanders off alone, eventually stumbling upon a lamp. When Polnareff rubs the lamp, a Stand named Judgement appears and claims that he can grant the Frenchman three wishes. Doubtful of the Stand's powers, Polnareff asks for a treasure chest, which he immediately receives. Polnareff then asks the Stand to revive Sherry and Avdol from the dead, which Judgement gladly accepts. However, this is revealed to be Judgement's ultimate plan: when Polnareff meets Sherry, she reveals herself as a mere clay golem and attacks Polnareff, hoping that his flesh will allow her to become complete.
Polnareff futilely struggles against Sherry's duplicate. The Frenchman summons Silver Chariot, but Judgement restrains the Stand as Avdol's duplicate approaches. Unable to fight the golems resembling his loved ones, Polnareff gives into despair. Suddenly, the real Avdol appears and destroys the clay golems with Magician's Red. Revealing that he faked his death in India, Avdol easily defeats Judgement. The two then locate the underground Stand user, Cameo, and expose him by pissing into his breathing pipe before incinerating him. When the group reunites, Polnareff is shocked to learn that his comrades had kept Avdol's survival a secret from him, expecting him to unwittingly tell one of DIO's subordinates. Avdol then reveals a submarine he purchased for the group, which will allow them to finally reach Egypt.
The group begins their underwater trip across the Red Sea. Joseph takes the opportunity to call Suzi Q to reassure her of his safety, though he refuses to tell her about Holy's condition. Soon afterward, the group realizes that an enemy Stand is among them. High Priestess, a Stand that can transform into any non-organic material, begins to attack the group by merging into the walls of the submarine itself, creating tears as it goes and forcing the group to evacuate the submarine. When Suzi Q calls the submarine once more, Jotaro picks up the phone to reassure his grandmother before rejoining the others, proclaiming that he will be the one to destroy High Priestess.

The group seemingly traps the Stand inside the submarine as they escape, but High Priestess merges with the ocean floor and takes the form of a giant head to swallow the group. The user, Midler, taunts the group before attempting to rip Jotaro apart with her Stand's diamond teeth. Fortunately, Star Platinum manages to smash all of High Priestess's teeth, defeating Midler and allowing the group to surface. Having finally reached Egypt, the Joestar group prepares for the final stretch of their crusade.

The group arrives in Aswan and put Kakyoin in the hospital, trailed by a strange duo. Oingo the big brother can transform into anyone while Boingo the little brother can predict the future with his comic book, Tohth. Using Tohth to see the near future, the Oingo Boingo Brothers try to poison Jotaro, Joseph and Polnareff but fail to do so when Iggy causes a scene. Later, the Brothers predict that Jotaro will be killed by a bomb and thus Oingo tries to put a bomb inside of Joseph's car. However, he is surprised by Joseph and Polnareff and forced to fake being Jotaro riding toward the hospital with the bomb near him. Suspecting that he may be the one getting killed, Oingo must juggle between the bomb and the group's antics while trying not to raise suspicion. However, both brothers end up being taken out by the bomb and then beaten up by the men of a man they mugged earlier, with none of the heroes knowing about the attempts on their lives.
While Kakyoin must rest a few days in Aswan, the rest of the group go down the Nile, trailed by yet another enemy. This enemy is Anubis, a sentient sword Stand that brainwashes a local boy named Chaka into pursuing the heroes. In Kom Ombo, Chaka confronts Polnareff and a sworfight ensues, Chaka being an amateur but the powerful swords making him more than a match for the Frenchman. Polnareff closely wins by revealing his secret sword shooting technique. Taking the sword with him, he rejoins the group and later goes to the barber with Jotaro. Khan the barber ends up being brainwashed and attacks Polnareff.
The fight against Khan begins. Polnareff understands that the real enemy is the sword itself, but Anubis reveals that it learns from fighting his enemies continuously and thus effortlessly defeats Silver Chariot. Jotaro comes to the rescue and wins with difficulty but, by sheer bad luck, Polnareff ends up being controlled by Anubis. Forced to face a Silver Chariot/Anubis combination, Jotaro loses the swordfight, Anubis stabbing into Jotaro's guts, but the delinquent uses this opportunity to destroy the blade into tiny pieces. A last assassination attempt by Anubis is foiled thanks to Iggy, and the sword Stand finishes at the bottom of the Nile.

The group has arrived in Cairo. Having a photography of DIO's hiding place but unfamiliar with the building, the group asks for information across the city and finally meet a man that seems to know about the house; unfortunately the man asks them to bet for the information. Polnareff recklessly accepts to bet on which of two pieces of meat a nearby cat will take first and loses, and the man, named Daniel J. D'arby, steals Polnareff's soul with his Stand Osiris. D'Arby reveals himself to be working for DIO. The group is now forced to bet their souls to take back Polnareff and Joseph steps in. Joseph challenges D'Arby to put coins inside of a full glass to see whoever makes the glass overflow first. Although the old man does his best to destabilize D'Arby and cheat, D'Arby is the better cheater and tricks Joseph into miscalculating the number of coins he'd need to overflow the glass by slightly tilting it with a piece of chocolate that melted under the heavy sun. Joseph loses his soul and Jotaro must play, challenging to a game of poker.

The game of poker between Jotaro and Daniel J. D'Arby begins. The gambler is confident in his skills and ability to cheat but underestimates Jotaro. Attempting a second dealing, D'Arby is easily spotted and Star Platinum breaks his finger. D'Arby is then forced to play seriously and the dealing is given to a seemingly unrelated child. However, the child and the entire bar is on D'Arby's payroll, allowing the gambler to win a first hand and half of Jotaro's soul. However in the second hand, Jotaro doesn't bother to look at his cards and outrageously raises the stake by betting Avdol's, Kakyoin's and even Holy's soul, psyching out D'Arby by showing that Star Platinum is faster than the eye can see and dealing a crushing psychological blow by demanding that D'Arby reveals the secret of DIO's Stand. Scared out of his mind, D'Arby folds and releases everyone. Jotaro's risky bluff has paid off.

Realising the gulf between them, Hol Horse is frightened into full loyalty for his master. Later, Hol Horse comes back to Cairo after a trip to Aswan to enlist Boingo. Skeptical about Tohth, he sees that a prediction about him kicking a woman and the woman then offering him some jewelry is true and he saves said woman from a scorpion on her neck. Hol Horse is thus convinced of Tohth's power. Trailing the Joestar Group, Hol Horse is outraged to learn that he supposed to put his fingers inside PoLnareff's nose to beat the heroes. The cowboy is then surprised by Polnareff while Boingo, hidden under a crate, cannot help. Cornered as Polnareff calls his companions, Hol Horse puts his fingers inside of Polnareff's nose as predicted.

Hol Horse and Boingo's assassination attempt continues. After putting his fingers inside of Polnareff's nose, Hol Horse holds him at gunpoint and hides in a corner, forcing Polnareff to lie. The Frenchman does his best to tip his companions and then sneezes because of his irritated nose, uncovering Hol Horse. Although he is cornered, the group is too distracted by the enemy in front of them to avoid a car that crashes into them. Hol Horse hides again and consults Tohth only to see that at midday precisely, Jotaro will be filled with bullets. For his part, Jotaro is the first to get up. Pressed by the clock, Hol Horse shoots inside a pipe that leads to Jotaro's head but another of Polnareff's sneezes causes the student to back off, avoiding the bullets. Unable to believe the prediction was true, Hol Horse is also too distracted to see his bullets coming back at him and pierce through the image of Jotaro on the pages, hitting him. Hol Horse is retired. For his part, Boingo has learned from the experience but is defeated by Iggy.

The fight against Vanilla Ice continues. Against common sense, Polnareff has been saved by Iggy, who's spent the last of his strength to lift him in the air with his sand. Iggy expires from his wounds. Vanilla Ice is taken by surprise and Polnareff deals a decisive flurry of stabs. Although Vanilla Ice stands back up, Polnareff guesses that he's been transformed into a Vampire and cuts the wall, letting the sun in. Vanilla Ice is finally defeated and Polnareff mourns his fallen comrades. Meanwhile in Japan, Suzi Q has decided to visit her daugher Holy. Sitting by her side, Suzi fully trusts Joseph and Jotaro to save the day. Back in DIO's Mansion, Jotaro defeats a Vampire by the name of Nukesaku while Polnareff mends his wounds and finally meets DIO.
The final battle begins. DIO confronts Polnareff and tries to charm him to his side and when Polnareff resists the temptation, decides to intimidate him by randomly "teleporting" him. Confused, Polnareff summons Silver Chariot and DIO summons his Stand, The World. However, the rest of the Joestar Group barges in through a wall, forcing DIO to retreat in the shadows away from the sun rays. Bringing Nukesaku out of a bag, the heroes force him to lead them to DIO's chamber, in which stands a coffin that Nukesaku opens only to find himself cut into pieces inside the same coffin. Feeling an impending attack, the group jumps out of a window, witnessing the sun disappearing into the horizon. DIO's hour of power has come. Jotaro and Polnareff stay hidden in ambush while Joseph and Kakyoin are pursued by the Vampire. Using a carjacked limousine, DIO fights Hierophant Green while Kakyoin closely studies The World's abilities. DIO finally throws his driver at the two's truck, causing it to crash. For their part, Kakyoin and Joseph take to the roofs of Cairo and Kakyoin concocts a plan to reveal The World's real power.
The final battle continues. DIO jumps up to Cairo's roofs, pursuing Joseph and Kakyoin, the latter of which remembers his lonely past. Kakyoin thus reuses the real form of Hierophant Green. DIO then finds himself ambushed by Hierophant Green, having become a network of tentacles shooting at him from all directions, and Kakyoin planning to force DIO to reveal his ability. Suddenly, DIO disappears and Kakyoin is sent flying. Agonizing because of the hole in his stomach, the student understands DIO's power but can only signal a clue by shooting at a clock tower nearby. As he flees, Joseph finally understands that DIO can stop time. Unfazed by Joseph's discovery, DIO simply overpowers him and Joseph falls down to the streets, incidentally meeting Jotaro. As the old man warns him, DIO stops time and throws a knife at his throat, taking him down. Angered, Jotaro brings out Star Platinum and confronts DIO head on.
The battle between Jotaro and DIO continues. Star Platinum has a slight advantage in strength, but DIO's superior skill prevails. Satisfied of his demonstration of power, DIO stops time, only to see Jotaro move his finger. Disturbed and then happy to see that Jotaro has used magnets to move in the stopped time, DIO comes near to strike Jotaro but the student reveals that he is really able to briefly move during the stopped time, Star Platinum punching through the Vampire. DIO heals by sucking the blood of a civilian and decides to surround Jotaro with knives which strike true despite Star Platinum's efforts to deflect them. Jotaro is down but still conscious. However, DIO is wary and tries to gauge whether Jotaro is alive or not. When the Vampire counters a foolish ambush attempt by Polnareff, Jotaro must move a bit to deflect DIO's attention off the Frenchman. Jotaro is forced to stop his hearbeat to a dangerous length to fool the Vampire but manages to restart his heart and, as DIO approached again, hits him in the head. Star Platinum pummels DIO but the Vampire has tricked Jotaro into sending him toward Joseph. Sucking the old man's blood, DIO has not only healed, but gained in power.

The battle between Jotaro and DIO continues. Having sucked Joestar blood, DIO is now fully synchronized with his body and with this comes a better mastery of his time stop ability. However, at the last moment, Jotaro unlocks his own time stop power. DIO is taken by surprise and after a final back and forth, is truly defeated. Later, Jotaro revives Joseph who uses the occasion to enact a prank in bad taste. When the sun rises, DIO's body is exposed to the sun and disintegrates, ending his life. At the same time, Holy's curse is lifted. Jotaro, Joseph and Polnareff see each other off, Polnareff returning to France while Jotaro and Joseph fly back to Tokyo to meet Holy and Suzi Q. In April 1999, roughly ten years after his battle against DIO, Jotaro Kujo travels to the town of Morioh in search of a boy named Josuke Higashikata. After Jotaro runs into a timid boy named Koichi Hirose, the two come across Josuke as the youth fights a group of upperclassmen for insulting his hairstyle. Jotaro introduces himself to Josuke, revealing that he is the illegitimate son of Joseph Joestar, and thus Jotaro's uncle by technicality. When Jotaro inadvertently insults his hairstyle, Josuke flies into a rage and attacks Jotaro with his Stand, Crazy Diamond, which can heal people and revert objects to prior states. Jotaro narrowly avoids serious injury thanks to his Star Platinum's ability to stop time temporarily. After Josuke calms down, Jotaro warns him and Koichi about a dangerous Stand user and serial killer named Anjuro Katagiri hiding somewhere in town. The next day, Josuke witnesses a hostage situation at a local convenience store, eventually being compelled to step in after his hair is insulted again. Josuke successfully saves the hostage, but discovers that the criminal was being possessed by Angelo's Stand, Aqua Necklace, whose user threatens to kill Josuke and his family.

Angelo sends Aqua Necklace into the Higashikata Family household in hopes of killing Josuke's mother Tomoko, but Josuke manages to trap it inside a bottle before it can do so. When Josuke's grandfather Ryohei comes home, however, Angelo tricks him into setting Aqua Necklace free and kills him as the Stand escapes. Josuke uses Crazy Diamond's ability to heal Ryohei's wounds, but is saddened to discover that his power is incapable of bringing back the dead. Josuke and Jotaro spend the next few days thinking of a plan to stop Angelo, but a sudden rain allows Aqua Necklace to move freely throughout the house. Angelo attempts to kill Josuke by sending Aqua Necklace into his mouth through a humidifier, but Josuke traps it in a rubber glove he had swallowed earlier. Using the Stand to find Angelo himself, Josuke takes revenge for his grandfather by fusing Angelo with a nearby rock.

Angelo reveals to Josuke and Jotaro that he received his Stand ability from a man in a school uniform who shot him with a mysterious Bow and Arrow he had received from DIO. Angelo tries to attack a nearby child with Aqua Necklace while the two are distracted, but Josuke further merges him with the rock, permanently incapacitating him. Realizing that the Bow and Arrow may have been the cause of DIO's Stand's awakening, Jotaro decides to stay in Morioh to investigate. The next day, as Josuke and Koichi pass by a seemingly-abandoned house near Josuke's house, the man in the school uniform shoots an Arrow through Koichi's neck. Before Josuke can rush to Koichi's aid, he is confronted by the man's brother, Okuyasu Nijimura, whose Stand The Hand can erase anything its right hand touches, including space itself. Josuke uses Okuyasu's power to his advantage by tricking him into launching a row of potted plants towards himself, knocking him out.

The two are cornered, but Keicho demands to see Koichi's Stand, which has been newly awakened by the Arrow. Koichi is forced to summon his Stand, which appears as an egg with no combat ability. Josuke and Koichi search the attic for the Bow and Arrow, but instead discover a mutated creature, who Keicho reveals to be his father. Once a servant under DIO, Keicho's father was mutated after his master's death by a flesh bud DIO had implanted into him, turning him into a monster unable to be killed by conventional means. Keicho had been creating new Stand users in the hopes of finding an ability that could kill his father, who has been doing nothing but searching through an old chest. Using Crazy Diamond's ability, Josuke discovers that the father was searching for a torn-up photograph of his family, having retained his memories and emotions. Josuke offers to help the Nijimura brothers find a way to cure their father in exchange for the Bow and Arrow, but Keicho is suddenly attacked by the electric Stand Red Hot Chili Pepper. Chili Pepper steals the Bow and Arrow and kills Keicho by dragging him through the power lines, dumping his body atop the electric cables outside. Later, Okuyasu decides to befriend Josuke and go to school with him.
As Koichi rides his bike on his way to school, he inadvertently runs over what he believes to be a cat in a burlap sack. The cat's alleged owner, Tamami Kobayashi, tries to blackmail Koichi into paying for the cat's death, using his Stand The Lock to literally weigh Koichi down with his own guilt. Okuyasu and Josuke soon arrive to help him, but Kobayashi tricks Okuyasu into feeling guilty for punching him, putting him under The Lock's effects as well. However, Josuke discovers that the cat was fake and heals Kobayashi's injuries, freeing both Koichi and Okuyasu. Kobayashi nonetheless escapes with Koichi's money. Upon arriving home, Koichi is shocked to find Kobayashi, who has tricked his mother into thinking Koichi had stolen from him and put both her and Koichi's sister under The Lock's power. Koichi's anger towards Kobayashi triggers the hatching of his Stand, Echoes, which has the ability to create onomatopoeia that endlessly replicate sounds. Koichi assaults Kobayashi with repeating sounds, but the conman tries to take revenge by tricking Koichi's family into thinking Koichi had stabbed him, aiming to drive Koichi's mother to kill herself. However, Koichi uses Echoes's ability to convince his mother to believe in him, ultimately freeing both her and his sister from The Lock's power. Following his total defeat, Kobayashi resigns himself to be Koichi's servant.

Surface takes control of Josuke's movements and departs after seemingly incapacitating the two heroes, unaware that the two have used their respective Stand abilities to save each other. Hazamada uses Surface's disguise to call Jotaro and lure him into a trap, but Josuke and Koichi use their abilities to delay Hazamada and meet with Jotaro first. Josuke uses Crazy Diamond on one of the dishes to restore it to its original state, revealing Tonio's Stand, Pearl Jam. Josuke goes to confront Tonio before Okuyasu is served the next dish, but Tonio apparently attacks him as Okuyasu gorges himself. However, Tonio is just upset that Josuke went into the kitchen without washing his hands, and Okuyasu finds that his stomach has been cured of its prior troubles. Okuyasu manages to weaken Chili Pepper with The Hand, but the Stand manages to trick Okuyasu into revealing an underground power line. However, Josuke manages to trap Chili Pepper in a tire and trick the Stand into bursting out, causing the air inside to blow the tire into the ocean. Hazamada and Koichi visit the house of famed manga artist Rohan Kishibe, who gives them a tour of his studio. Despite the disturbing practices Rohan demonstrates to improve his manga, Koichi and Hazamada seize the opportunity to peek at Rohan's new manuscript for Pink Dark Boy. The moment they do, however, they fall under the power of Rohan's Stand, Heaven's Door, which allows him to open their bodies like books and read and write into their pages. After learning of Koichi's encounters with Stand users, Rohan writes a safety lock in one of Koichi's pages, preventing Koichi from attacking him. The manga artist then proceeds to take pages from Koichi as material for his manga, leaving them with no memory of the attack. Later, Koichi senses something amiss when he finds that his weight has drastically fallen, but forgets about it as soon as he prepares to call Josuke. The next day, Koichi finds himself at Rohan's house again, unaware of Josuke and Okuyasu following closely behind.

Rohan reveals his plans to continue taking pages from Koichi as inspiration. Though the safety lock written inside Koichi prevents him from asking his friends for help, Josuke and Okuyasu glimpse wounds on Koichi's hand and head and deduce that he is being attacked. Okuyasu attacks Rohan, who quickly uses his manuscript to put Okuyasu under Heaven's Door's power, threatening to have him commit suicide if Josuke runs away to tell others. Rohan then insults Josuke's hairstyle in order to provoke him into opening his eyes and viewing his manuscript. Josuke nonetheless pummels Rohan, so blinded by his rage that he cannot notice the manuscript. As Josuke beats Rohan to a pulp, Koichi explains the story behind his hairstyle: when Josuke came down with a fever at the age of four, a student with a pompadour hairstyle helped him and his mother get to a hospital in the middle of a blizzard. Inspired by this random act of kindness, Josuke copied and became deeply attached to his hairstyle. As a result of the incident, Pink Dark Boy is put on hiatus for a month.
Jotaro asks Josuke to help him track down a rat that Otoishi had turned into a Stand user. While investigating a house attacked by the rat, Josuke encounters and quickly kills the rodent, despite its ability to fire flesh-melting needles with its Stand, Ratt. However, Jotaro encounters a second rat with the same ability, which escapes from the house. While pursuing the second rat, which Jotaro names Bug-Eaten, Josuke falls into a trap and is hit by one of Ratt's needles, though Star Platinum removes the needle before it can cause any lasting damage. Jotaro decides to use himself as bait to lure out Bug-Eaten, tasking Josuke with shooting the rat from afar. Despite the pressure put on Josuke by the rat's cleverness and Jotaro's increasing damage, Josuke manages to focus and successfully eliminate the rat.
Having recovered from his injuries, Rohan brings Koichi with him to investigate an alley not marked on any map of the town. The two quickly become lost, as every corner they turn leads to the same mailbox. They are then approached by a girl named Reimi Sugimoto, who reveals that both she and her dog Arnold are ghosts who were murdered fifteen years ago. Reimi explains that the alley is a passageway between the worlds of the living and the dead, and warns Rohan and Koichi that her killer is still active and at large. After the two reluctantly agree to search for him, Reimi points them towards the exit and warns them not to turn around, lest they be dragged into the afterlife. As they near the exit, Koichi is tricked into turning around, but Rohan uses Heaven's Door to allow both of them to reach safety. Later, Rohan meets an old man at Reimi's grave, who tells him that Reimi had babysat him on the night of the murder and saved him from the killer. As Koichi informs Josuke and Okuyasu about the killer, a man named Yoshikage Kira arrives at his home with a woman's severed hand.

Advising Koichi against recklessly chasing after the culprit, Jotaro goes up against Sheer Heart Attack, which proves to be resilient to Star Platinum's attacks. Ignoring Jotaro's warning, Koichi sends Echoes to search for the jacket's owner, only to find he can control Sheer Heart Attack from outside Echoes's range, leaving him open to an attack from Sheer Heart Attack. Deducing that Sheer Heart Attack uses body temperature to determine its primary target, Jotaro uses a fire to lure it away from Koichi, but gets critically injured by its explosion. Thinking things carefully, Koichi manages to use Echoes's ability to distract Sheer Heart Attack while he contacts Josuke. As Koichi is once again pursued, Echoes evolves into its third form, Echoes ACT3, using its new ability to increase Sheer Heart Attack's weight and stop its movements, forcing Kira to set off to retrieve it.

While Josuke and Okuyasu make their way to the scene, Kira appears before Koichi, knocking him out of ACT3's range and undoing the gravity on Sheer Heart Attack. Taking advantage of ACT3's limitations, Kira brutally beats Koichi, who uses the opportunity to learn Kira's real name. Just as Kira deals a lethal blow to Koichi and prepares to kill him using Killer Queen, Jotaro manages to stand up long enough to stop Kira and give him a pummeling. As Josuke arrives with Okuyasu to heal Jotaro and Koichi, Kira chops off his own hand to set Sheer Heart Attack loose and escape. Using Crazy Diamond's ability to have Sheer Heart Attack reunite with Kira's hand and try to rejoin his body, Josuke and the others follow it to Salon Cinderella, where they discover Kira has killed Aya after forcing her to replace his face with another person, allowing him to take on a new identity and hide once again.
Josuke and the others search through Kira's house, learning that he had been keeping a record of his toenail clippings since his murder of Reimi. Just then, a camera takes a picture of them containing the ghost of Kira's late father, Yoshihiro. Using his Stand, Atom Heart Father, Yoshihiro traps Josuke and Jotaro within the confines of the photograph, with any damage done to the photo dealt to them as well. Jotaro manages to trick Yoshihiro into taking a picture of himself, freeing Josuke and Jotaro and trapping himself in a separate photograph. However, Yoshihiro manages to trick Okuyasu into setting him free, managing to retrieve another arrow that Kira had in his possession as he makes his escape. Elsewhere, Kira begins living under the new identity of the man whose face he stole, Kosaku Kawajiri, moving into his house with his wife Shinobu and their son Hayato.

Yoshihiro decides to use the arrow to make more Stand-wielding allies, first using it on a boy named Ken Oyanagi. Ken then pesters Rohan to play Rock paper scissors with him, losing his first match after Rohan uses Heaven's Door to figure out his move. As Ken continues to force Rohan to play RPS with him and manages to win his third match against him, his Stand, Boy II Man, appears and tries to suck in Heaven's Door. Rohan soon learns that Ken's Stand allows him to steal energy from others and keep it if he wins three times out of five, discovering that he has already gained a third of Heaven's Door's ability. Ken then wins the fourth match, gaining more of Heaven's Door's ability and evening the score. After holding on with a pair of ties, Rohan manages to win his third match and retrieve Heaven's Door after borrowing Shizuka the invisible baby from Joseph and having her change what Ken attempted to throw out. Ken attempts to kill himself by jumping in front of the truck, but Rohan manages to use his own brand of luck to save him, convincing Ken to stop using his Stand for evil.
Josuke and Okuyasu come across a peculiar person named Mikitaka Hazekura who claims to be an alien. Believing his claims to be a joke, Josuke initially suspects him to be a Stand user when he exhibits some strange abilities. However, upon being distressed by the sound of sirens, Mikitaka suddenly transforms his body into a pair of sneakers and flees with Josuke, who realizes he is not a Stand user as he cannot see Crazy Diamond. Looking to take advantage of Mikitaka's transformation ability, Josuke has Mikitaka transform into some dice and challenges Rohan to a game of Cee-lo in the hopes of winning some money off of him. As the match begins, Josuke grows worried when Mikitaka seems to get suspiciously ideal rolls.
Becoming suspicious of Josuke's winning streak, Rohan stabs his own finger, staking two million yen against Josuke's own finger to determine how he is cheating while also calling upon Tamami Kobayashi as an official to prevent Josuke from playing normally. Just as Mikitaka becomes unnerved by sirens and starts to lose his transformation, Rohan is distracted upon discovering he had accidentally set his house on fire, allowing Josuke to escape without being discovered. The next day, while riding a bus through a tunnel with Josuke, Rohan spots a window to a room revealing a man cutting off a woman's hand, believing it to be Kira. Returning to inspect the tunnel, Rohan discovers the room to be an illusional trap, suddenly finding himself attacked by a nutrient-sucking Stand named Highway Star. When Josuke comes to the tunnel, Highway Star tries to use Rohan to lure him into his room. As Josuke ignores Rohan's warnings and enters the room anyway, Rohan sends him flying out of the tunnel, urging him to flee from Highway Star and find his user.
Believing there is a connection between Highway Star's user and the Futatsumori Tunnel he resided in, Josuke gets in contact with Koichi, who suspects the user to be someone hospitalized from a traffic accident stealing nutrients to heal himself. While Josuke makes his way to the hospital while keeping ahead of Highway Star, Koichi manages to find out the identity of its user, Yuya Fungami. Despite being caught by Highway Star upon reaching Yuya's room, Josuke manages to recover his nutrients with an IV drip, healing Yuya's injuries so he can pummel him without guilt. Meanwhile, at the Kawajiri household, Shinobu finds a British Blue cat hanging around the basement.

Enlisting Yuya's help in tracking Koichi's scent in exchange for healing his injuries, Josuke encounters the Stand user, Terunosuke Miyamoto, who unbeknownst to him had used his Stand Enigma to turn Koichi and Tomoko into pieces of paper after witnessing their ticks when they are afraid.

In 2001, Koichi Hirose travels to Italy at Jotaro Kujo's request to investigate a young man named Haruno Shiobana. Soon after his arrival, Koichi is scammed by the youth, now known as Giorno Giovanna, who escapes with his money and luggage. Giorno is then confronted by the gangster Leaky-Eye Luca, who demands a protection fee from the youth. Luca attacks Giorno when he refuses to pay, but Giorno's Stand, Gold Experience, quickly kills him with its ability to create life and reflect attacks. Giorno later encounters Koichi on the street and makes a narrow escape by growing and climbing a tree. Koichi uses a payphone to call Jotaro, who reveals that Giorno is the son of DIO and warns Koichi against pursuing him further. Later, as Giorno rides a cable car, another gangster named Bruno Bucciarati questions him about Luca's death. Giorno lies to him to avoid being attacked, but is bewildered to find that Luca's eyeball has suddenly appeared within his closed fist. Bucciarati confirms that Giorno is lying by licking his face, and immobilizes Giorno with his own Stand, Sticky Fingers.
Giorno, who was once abused by his step-father and bullied by other kids, began to be treated with respect after saving an injured gangster, inspiring him to become a gang-star himself. In the present, Giorno uses Gold Experience against Bucciarati, which causes the man's senses to go berserk. Once the effect wears off, Bucciarati escapes the cable car and hides inside an innocent young bystander. Giorno tracks him down by turning one of Bucciarati's teeth into a fly, but Bucciarati swaps his arm with the bystander's to attack Giorno. Though he is again immobilized, Giorno rips his own arm off to extend his range and strike Bucciarati with Gold Experience's ability. However, having seen Bucciarati's sympathy for the drug-addicted bystander, Giorno decides to spare his life and ask to join his organization, as he aspires to defeat his boss and reform the city.

Giorno convinces Bucciarati to let him join his organization, Passione. Bucciarati recommends Giorno to his lieutenant Polpo, who is currently behind bars. Giorno receives a visit with Polpo, who gives him a test to see if he is trustworthy: guarding a lighter's flame for twenty-four hours. Giorno protects the flame all the way back to his dormitory, only for Koichi to intrude in search of his stolen passport. Giorno narrowly escapes with the lighter as Koichi recovers his passport. However, the lighter is suddenly extinguished when a janitor spills his bucket of water. Despite Giorno's despair, the janitor easily reignites the lighter, leaving the youth confused as to the test's real purpose. Giorno then turns around in time to see a Stand named Black Sabbath extract the janitor's soul and pierce it with an Arrow, killing him instantly. Realizing that he has triggered Polpo's Stand, Giorno braces himself as Black Sabbath lunges at him.
Black Sabbath tries to attack Giorno, revealing its speed and power to be leagues above Gold Experience. Luckily, the sun's light weakens the Stand, allowing Giorno to escape its grip. Koichi then confronts the youth over the janitor's death, unaware that Black Sabbath is moving to attack him. Luckily for Koichi, Giorno turns a nearby railing into morning glories, forcing the Stand to retreat. After Giorno explains the situation, the two teens ally to lure Black Sabbath into the light, eventually managing to annihilate the Stand by accelerating the lifespan of a nearby tree. Afterward, Giorno convinces Koichi of the righteousness of his ambition, and the latter chooses to refrain from interfering any further. The next day, Polpo accepts Giorno into the gang and assigns him to Bucciarati's team. As revenge for the janitor's death, Giorno discreetly turns one of the lieutenant's guns into a banana, which later reverts as he eats it and shoots him through the head.

Entering university at age thirteen, Fugo finally snapped and beat up a professor in self-defense, causing him to be expelled and disowned by his parents before meeting Bucciarati and being convinced to join him. In the present, Fugo is defenseless against Man in the Mirror, which leaves him on the verge of death. Meanwhile, Abbacchio is forced to warn Giorno about Purple Haze's ability to release a deadly flesh-eating virus. Despite Giorno's objections, Abbacchio prioritizes the objective over Fugo's life and abandons both of his comrades.

Abbacchio reaches the key alone, but Illuso reveals himself to him, having neglected to kill Fugo in favor of trailing him. When Illuso moves to attack, Abbacchio shatters the mirror and uses the assassin's limited visibility to have him drag Moody Blues into the mirror world instead. Illuso nonetheless uses a piece of glass to drag half of Abbacchio's body into the mirror and half of Moody Blues outside, immobilizing both. Desperate to complete his mission, Abbacchio cuts off his own hand to allow Moody Blues to deliver the key to Giorno. Illuso drags Giorno into the mirror world, but finds that Giorno has infected himself with Purple Haze's virus, which spreads to Illuso's hand. Though Illuso cuts off his own hand as well and escapes, Gold Experience turns a nearby brick into a snake, allowing Purple Haze to find and fatally assault Illuso. For his part, Giorno manages to save himself by using the snake's blood as an antivenom, greatly impressing Fugo. The team thus acquires the key.

Following orders engraved on the key by the boss, the group drives to Naples's train station en route to Venice. There, Bucciarati discovers a turtle whose ability to create a miniature room is awakened by the key. Bucciarati grabs the turtle and rejoins his team inside the cabin of an express train to Florence, narrowly evading the assassin Prosciutto and his partner Pesci in the process. The pair of assassins boards the train in pursuit of Bucciarati's team, but are unable to find them as they hide inside the turtle. To draw them out, Prosciutto summons his Stand, The Grateful Dead, which accelerates the aging process of the train's passengers. Prosciutto commands Pesci to stand guard in the dining car while he searches the rest of the train. Affected by Prosciutto's ability, the group realizes that ice reverses their accelerated aging. Mista, who remains relatively unaffected, leaves the turtle to fight the enemy, but is soon ambushed and hooked by Pesci's own fishing rod Stand, Beach Boy.

Pesci alerts his partner and begins to reel Mista in. Mista fires at the hook, only to have the attack's energy redirected back at him. As the hook draws closer to the gunman's heart, Mista sends Sex Pistols to destroy the ice in the dining car, causing Pesci to panic and withdraw Beach Boy. Mista confronts Pesci and unsuccessfully attempts to interrogate him. As Mista prepares to shoot the junior assassin, Prosciutto reveals himself and uses his ability on Mista directly, disabling him. Reminding Pesci of his team's resolve, Prosciutto finishes Mista with three shots to the head, and the two return to the cabin. Prosciutto and Pesci eventually discover the turtle, but are attacked by Bucciarati; Mista, who survived by stopping the bullets with Sex Pistols, has managed to inform his leader of the situation. Bucciarati manages to wound Prosciutto, but the fight causes his body to heat up, accelerating the aging effect. Prosciutto grabs Bucciarati, but the lieutenant makes the bold decision to throw both himself and his attacker outside the train.

As Prosciutto holds on to the train for dear life, Pesci uses Beach Boy to hook Prosciutto. However, Bucciarati attacks the line, which reflects the attack toward Prosciutto and zips apart his hand. Prosciutto falls to certain death as Bucciarati hooks himself on the line to reach safety. Pesci slowly realizes his mistake and falls into despair, but the aging effect begins once more: though Prosciutto has sustained lethal damage, he is determined to keep his Stand active from within the train's undercarriage. Pesci, seeing his partner's true resolve, chooses to inherit his will and fight to the bitter end. After Pesci forces Bucciarati to enter the train once more, Bucciarati again attacks the line in order to zip himself into pieces. When Pesci detects his heartbeat and breathing, the lieutenant splits his heart and lungs apart. As Bucciarati lies on the verge of death, Pesci decides to stop the train, worried that his target has escaped to finish off his partner. The abrupt stop shifts Bucciarati's pieces closer together, allowing him to reconstitute himself. Bucciarati and Pesci confront each other, and Sticky Fingers wins out in the ensuing contest of speed. Pesci desperately attempts to kill Bucciarati's team in his final moments, but Bucciarati quickly pummels him and tears him to pieces. Behind him, Prosciutto's body falls to the ground, lifeless. As the team prepares to move onward, Bucciarati glimpses Trish's own Stand, which has begun to manifest. Later, another assassin named Melone finds the scene of the battle and takes a sample of Bucciarati's spilled blood.
Inside the express train, Melone assaults a woman named Anita with his Stand, Baby Face, using her DNA to create a child Stand capable of tracking Bucciarati. Meanwhile, Team Bucciarati finds themselves at a parking lot, where Giorno hatches a plan to steal several cars to avoid detection. As the group leaves Giorno and the turtle behind to carry out the operation, Baby Face sneaks inside the turtle and decomposes Trish and Bucciarati's bodies into cubes. Giorno notices the Stand too late as it manages to severely wound Giorno's foot, eye, and throat. Giorno attempts to reach his allies, but seemingly expires before he can reach them. Baby Face prepares to leave on its own motorcycle, but is suddenly confronted by Giorno, who has taken a page from its book and healed himself by transforming objects into individual body parts. Giorno retakes the turtle and, despite Melone's clever orders and Baby Face's speed, outsmarts Baby Face by turning a decoy hand into a piranha, which tears its way through Baby Face's back.
Giorno's counterattack only enrages the automatic Baby Face, which undergoes a growth spurt and begins ignoring its user's orders. The Stand blocks Gold Experience's punch, but Giorno again reveals his hand as a decoy, this time made from the Stand's motorcycle. As it reverts, the bike's battery triggers its gasoline tank, causing the Stand to explode. With Giorno's victory, Bucciarati and Trish are restored, and the gang successfully escapes. Some time later, the assassin Ghiaccio arrives at the parking lot and calls Melone, who is suddenly attacked and killed by a venomous snake Giorno made from his attacker's remains. Luckily for Ghiaccio, his leader, Risotto Nero, has discovered the group's objective. Meanwhile, Team Bucciarati receives a message from Pericolo via Moody Blues's replay. Pericolo orders the group to retrieve the OA-DISC hidden near Venice's Santa Lucia Station, which will reveal both the boss's final orders and his location. Pericolo then pulls out a gun and shoots himself in the head. Giorno and Mista are sent to retrieve the disc by car while the rest of the group approaches by boat. On the highway to Venice, the two are suddenly attacked by Ghiaccio, whose Stand White Album reduces the air around itself to cryogenic temperatures. Though Giorno and Mista combine their abilities to shake off the assassin, Ghiaccio quickly catches up to the car by forming a suit capable of skating along the ground. Unable to shake off the pursuer, Giorno decides to drive the car into the sea.
Giorno tells Mista to escape, hoping to slow down White Album's freezing ability with salt water. This plan backfires, however, as Ghiaccio quickly traps the two by freezing the sea water. Mista and Giorno cooperate to create a grass sled from frozen car parts, which allows Mista to approach the shore. Though Ghiaccio immobilizes Mista, the gunman fires the car parts into his helmet as they revert. Against Giorno's advice, Mista decides to finish off Ghiaccio by firing into the airhole on the back of his suit's neck. However, the frozen air around Ghiaccio, which he dubs Gently Weeps, ricochets the bullet back at Mista. As the two move to solid ground, Ghiaccio uncovers the OA-DISC and freezes it solid along with his own airhole, using the frozen air to breathe. As Mista desperately confronts the assassin once more, Giorno sprays his own blood into the air, exposing the individual particles of frozen air. At this moment, Mista remembers how Bucciarati saved him from incarceration and took him under his wing. Inspired by Giorno's resolve, Mista shoots at Ghiaccio and causes him to fall on a spike twisted out of a nearby lamppost. A bloody shootout ensues as Mista attempts to drive the spike further in, but Ghiaccio manages to freeze his own blood into pillars. Mista's final shot ricochets to strike him through the brain, but Giorno intervenes to save Mista and finishes Ghiaccio with a barrage of kicks. As Mista realizes the respect he feels for his newest ally, Giorno recovers the OA-DISC and heals his wounds, though the process proves to be both painful and embarassing for the gunman.

Having received the boss's final orders, Team Bucciarati travels to San Giorgio Maggiore by boat, where the boss awaits his daughter at the top of the church belfry. The boss has ordered that only one escort may accompany Trish, and that they may bring no communication utilities or weapons. As the group's leader, the responsibility naturally falls to Bucciarati, though he accepts a tracking brooch from Giorno. Bucciarati and Trish enter the church and board the belfry elevator. Suddenly, Trish disappears, with only her severed hand remaining in Bucciarati's palm. The lieutenant thus realizes with dawning horror that the boss intends to kill his daughter personally to ensure his complete secrecy. Bucciarati's past is revealed: once the ordinary son of a fisherman, Bucciarati's life took a turn for the worse when his father was attacked by drug dealers. Bucciarati killed the drug dealers in order to protect his father, and was consequently forced to join Passione seeking protection. However, after his father's death, Bucciarati discovered that Passione itself was responsible for the drug trade that killed him. Enraged that his boss could betray him once more, Bucciarati decides to kill the boss and gives chase, planting Giorno's brooch on the boss. Arriving at the church's basement, Bucciarati contacts Giorno with a hidden phone, and the two manage to corner the boss behind a pillar. Bucciarati zips apart the pillar and attacks, finally revealing the true face of... himself, having suddenly and discreetly been moved behind the pillar. The boss thus introduces his Stand, King Crimson, which wields the power to erase time itself for everyone save its user. Bucciarati finds himself powerless to stop the boss from crushing his phone and lethally impaling him through the heart.

Back to the boat, Giorno and his teammates wait for Bucciarati's return. But when events seem to have happened without anyone remembering performing them, Giorno rushes to the church to help Bucciarati. Meanwhile, the capo gets punched through the stomach by King Crimson but amazingly continues to fight. King Crimson erases time again, effortlessly avoiding Sticky Fingers's punch and lands a karate chop that splits Bucciarati's torso in two. However, the Boss is then sucked into the brooch Giorno has given life to. Bucciarati wins enough time to grasp the gist of King Crimson's power and tries to get rid of the turtle, but when he tries to crawl up the stairs with Trish, King Crimson blocks his path, having forecasted the attack and avoided it too. Fortunately, Bucciarati tricks King Crimson into letting him create a zipper to the ceiling and he escapes, meeting Giorno. Confusion ensues as Giorno realizes Bucciarati is physically dead, but he continues moving as if he was alive. With too many witnesses, the Boss decides to retreat. Out of the church, Bucciarati explains what has happened and gives his team the chance to join him in his fight agains the Boss. The team is frightened, but all save Fugo manage to gather the resolve to follow their leader. Meanwhile, the operative Squalo receives the order to hunt the rebels.
A recap of the season thus far, emphasizing the events that gave the Bucciarati's team members determination.
Still in Venice, Team Bucciarati goes to a restaurant to rest and decide their next course of action. Sure that they can learn about the Boss's identity to ambush him and bypass his King Crimson, the team learns from Trish that the Boss had met her mother in Sardinia and thus the island is where they can learn about him. Narancia is suddenly attacked by a shark Stand named Clash, which rips off his tongue. Unfortunately, Clash can teleport between liquids and remains unseen by all but Narancia. Moreover, when Giorno saves him from suffocating and gives him a new tongue, Narancia begins to only tell lies, giving his teammates falsehoods. Indeed, a duo of Passione operatives, Tizzano and Squalo, are ambushing the group, using Tizzano's Talking Head to force Narancia to lie and bait them into watery places where Clash can ambush them. Narancia narrowly prevents his team from staying in the bathrooms too long, and they all leave but Giorno. Talking Head cuts Narancia's hand but when Giorno approaches, Narancia uses Aerosmith to shoot on a pipe and heat it with incendiary ammo and cauterize himself. Giorno understands that Narancia is under the effect of some power, but the damaged pipe leaks water, creating a puddle from which Clash emerges to tear at Giorno's throat.

Tizzano and Squalo's ambush on the heroes continue. Clash has managed to bite into Giorno's throat and has disabled him, dragging him along in the puddles while evading Aerosmith's bullets. Nonetheless, the duo are aware that Narancia can detect CO2 and thus track Giorno. Although Squalo baits Narancia into opening the way to the sewers, Giorno willingly lets himself get shot so that the tracer bullets can emit CO2 for him. Thus Narancia is able to chase Clash until it is cornered in the kitchen room. Despite the leaking gas preventing him from shooting Narancia slashes at Clash with Aerosmith's propellers. Tizzano intervenes and uses Talking Head to bait the team into the kitchen room and trick Mista into setting the gas on fire by firing his gun. An explosion ensues and Giorno uses the opportunity to tell him to find the user and gives him a brooch before Clash can take him. Narancia listens and gives chase to Tizzano and Squalo until he successfully finds them. Despite Tizzano's sacrifice, Narancia finally kills both of the enemies and finds Giorno barely alive. Team Bucciarati subsequently crosses the sea to an airport in order to fly to Sardinia.
Having managed to escape Venice, Team Bucciarati now heads to the Venezia-Tessera Airport and steals a passenger plane to fly to Sardinia. During the preparations, a Passione operative named Carne confronts them but Mista seemingly makes short work of him, only leaving him the time to briefly summon his Stand. Giorno touches him and confirms his death. Once the plane is up in the air, Trish and Bucciarati discuss their situation and Trish mentions Cala di Volpe, a small Sardinian bay in which her mother met the Boss, who was a local. Meanwhile, Giorno and Mista discover some of Carne's fingers, which got into the fridge of the plane without explanation. Giorno then discovers that his right arm is being absorbed by an enemy Stand. Notorious B.I.G, Carne's Stand, activates after death, can devour all energy and matter to grow, and is automatically attracted to the fastest object in the vicinity. Before Giorno can make it get out of the plane, he loses both arms and Mista and Narancia are heavily injured. The situation is extremely dire as half of the team is gravely injured with no healers available. Yet, as Bucciarati goes to the cockpit with the injured in the turtle to inform Abbacchio of what happened, Trish is left alone with Notorious B.I.G, which has managed to catch up to the plane. Trapped, Trish then sees that Giorno has left a brooch from which a brand new hand is growing.
Trish is trapped with Notorious B.I.G but must find a way to protect Giorno's growing hand and herself at the same time. Using the automatic reclining seats, Trish manages to go past the enemy Stand and approach the hand. However, Notorious B.I.G suddenly attacks her because of the droplets of drink slipping on her boot. Trish is nonetheless saved by her newly awakened Stand, Spice Girl, which can soften things. Using the softening, Spice Girl manages to bait Notorious B.I.G into attacking a clock without damaging it and seemingly destroys it. However, a tiny part of Notorious B.I.G reaches the engines, feeds on the energy in them and grows into a big size. Trish again saves the situation by softening the cockpit and then separate it from the crashing plane, acting as a makeshift parachute. Finally, the group manages to reach Sardinia and Giorno has regained his power. For his part, Notorious B.I.G will become in time a sea monster roaming the waters near Sardinia. Meanwhile, the Boss discovers the existence of a clue to his past in Sardinia. Sensing that Trish is alive, he decides to personally go to his native island.

The battle against Secco continues. Bucciarati is forced to retreat but is caught up. The two then discover that Cioccolata has died by observing the crowd, but Secco surprisingly takes it well as he reveals that he only followed the surgeon for his wealth and treats. Secco nonetheless decides to go to the Coliseum to take what Bucciarati is after. Bucciarati is forced to stop him but another fistfight cements Secco's superiority over Sticky Fingers. Thus Bucciarati goes underground and zips him way throught the soil to join the Coliseum, Secco swimming after him. Using his hearing, Secco relentlessly tracks Bucciarati and when Bucciarati decides to stand still, Secco then creates spikes of hardened rock that he makes rain down on the softened ground. Meanwhile, it is revealed that Jean Pierre Polnareff is the mysterious ally and that he must protect his Arrow's secret at all cost. Bucciarati is forced to move and is cornered but a car is sunk near him and he has Sticky Fingers punch the car's tire. The explosion bursts Secco's eardrums while Bucciarati is past caring about them. Resurfacing, Secco incidentally meets Doppio and takes him hostage but Bucciarati takes him out. Bucciarati then collapses as his body has reached its limits, and Doppio approaches to execute Bucciarati for good.
Instead of killing Bucciarati, Doppio decides to pass off as a harmless civilian to "help" carry Bucciarati to his destination. Diavolo enhances the ploy by deducing that Bucciarati is now a corpse who can only see spirits and emitting a bit of his own soul - Bucciarati is fooled into thinking Doppio is Trish. The two enter the Colosseum where they are confronted by Polnareff from the second floor. Polnareff eventually sees Doppio as a suspicious person, and both him and Diavolo remember Polnareff's attempt to investigate the Arrows in Italy only to be nearly killed by Diavolo in person. Polnareff forces Diavolo's hand, forcing the Boss to come out and confront him. Diavolo gets the better of Polnareff a second time, and Polnareff is forced to pierce Silver Chariot with the Arrow in front of Diavolo to protect it. Diavolo kills Polnareff and takes the Arrow. Looking down on the first floor, he sees Team Bucciarati coming to their leader and plans to kill them, but he then sees a new Stand in front of him.

However, the team soon discovers that when they try to approach the Arrow, their Stands automatically begin to attack them. Thus, Chariot Requiem is free to take back his arm and the Arrow and walk away. The team also realize that Diavolo must be now in Bucciarati's body and shoot him when he wakes up. Despite Requiem, all seems well and Narancia thinks about his future. However, time is erased again and the team realize that Narancia has been impaled on iron bars. It is too late for Narancia and the team can only mourn their lost companion. Giorno also regains his body. For his part, Polnareff deduces that Diavolo and Doppio were split personalities, and that Diavolo's soul may be lurking nearby. The group must depart to catch up to Chariot Requiem. In the streets, Bucciarati experiments with Requiem, and Polnareff tries to grab the Arrow since he's Standless. This spurs Chariot Requiem into action who now runs towards the turtle.
The struggle to defeat Chariot Requiem continues. After Polnareff touches the Arrow, Giorno and Mista must protect him from Chariot Requiem and Mista must replace his inexplicably broken revolver with a pistol. After a short struggle, Chariot stops running after Polnareff and goes away with the Arrow, only for it to be revealed that everyone is beginning to mutate into otherworldy creatures because of Chariot. Meanwhile, Diavolo has seen Chariot's weakness. Time presses but Giorno suddenly tells everyone to be still: he's checked Mista's revolver and proves that it was sabotaged; from that he deduces that Diavolo is hiding into one of them. When Giorno checks on Bucciarati, Diavolo manifest from the same body as his daughter and attacks Giorno, severing him arm. Diavolo then catches up to Chariot Requiem, using time erasure to evade all attacks. In truth, a hidden light orb can be attacked behind each soul's head and King Crimson punches his orb to disable Chariot and take the Arrow. The group tries to prevent Diavolo from taking the Arrow, culminating in it being send in the air but King Crimson punching through his host's stomach to send himself flying toward the Arrow and kill Trish once and for all.
Diavolo almost grabs the Arrowhead, but Bucciarati intervenes. He has too seen through Chariot Requiem and definitely destroys the light orb behind him to obliterate Chariot, forcing Diavolo's soul away from the Arrow. Everyone returns to their original body and Giorno is able to heal Mista's body. Moreover, Giorno witnesses Bucciarati's soul ascending to heaven. Bucciarati explains how Giorno affected his life for the better and entrusts to him the end of their mission. Giorno thus takes the Arrow. Diavolo is bitter over his loss of the Arrow but is reassured as he forecasts Giorno being rejected. However, when Giorno stabs Gold Experience, it does turn into Gold Experience Requiem. GER performs a first attack but Diavolo foresees it and doesn't see any real change. Considering King Crimson to still be superior, Diavolo erases time. Foreseeing himself punching through Giorno, Diavolo is elated but his joy is crushed as he sees that time is rewinding back and that his time erasure is being undone. Diavolo finds himself at the same position he was just before the time erasure was activated and is powerless to prevent Gold Experience Requiem from starting to pummel him and King Crimson.

Giorno's Gold Experience Requiem soundly defeats Diavolo and King Crimson, sending them into the Tiber. Diavolo seemingly survives and climbs up to a sewer only to be stabbed by a druggie. Diavolo then continuously experiences various gruesome deaths and his spirit is eventually broken. For their part, the team is convinced that they are victorious. Mista then tells the group to go back to the Colosseum and heal Bucciarati, unaware of his death. Seeing the spirits of his fallen comrades in the sky, Giorno sees the Arrow on the ground. The plot jumps back to the past; during lunch, Bucciarati learns that Luca has just died and must investigate it. At the same time, a florist comes and claims that his daughter has been murdered by her boyfriend, explaining that she was holding a round rock in her arms. Bucciarati accepts to also investigate the matter and asks Mista to resolve the case. As Fugo drives Bucciarati and Mista to the boyfriend's apartment, Mista suspects that he is stalked by a round rock. His suspicions worry Bucciarati and when Mista goes to the boyfriend's address, Bucciarati decides to go after him. When Mista uses the elevator, he spots the boyfriend and the rock reappears, which worryingly takes the shape of a dying Bucciarati.
Mista's investigation continues. Realizing that he's pitted against a Stand user, Mista quickly overpowers the sculptor, named Scolippi, and orders him to explain himself. Scolippi is revealed to a benign Stand user whose automatic Stand Rolling Stones tracks people fated to die and preemptively kills them; Bucciarati has in fact become its latest target and is following him. Rolling Stones suddenly disappears and Mista is told by Sex Pistols that Bucciarati is nearby. Mista begs Scolippi for a solution and the sculptor suggests that he may change Bucciarati's fate by breaking the stone. Mista manages to delay Rolling Stones and ultimately jumps down the building with the Rolling Stones to break it, surviving by landing on Fugo's car. The gang leaves, but Scolippi notices that Bucciarati's fate, as well as that of Abbacchio and Narancia were already sealed. Still impressed by Mista's loyalty, Scolippi prays that their demise may serve some purpose. Back to the present, Giorno, Mista and Trish head back to the Colosseum to "heal Bucciarati". Meeting Coco Jumbo on the way back with Polnareff's spirit lingering it the room in its shell, Giorno decides to safeguard the Arrow. Some time later, it is shown that Giorno has become a gang leader.

Florida, 2011. Framed for a DUI and imprisoned, young Jolyne Cujoh has been detained. After an embarrassing incident, she gets acquainted with another female inmate. Before she is transferred to prison, Jolyne receives a few items from her family, including a strange Stone Pendant on which she pricks herself. Learning it has come from her father, Jolyne angrily tosses it away. On the way to prison, Jolyne befriends an inmate named Ermes Costello and gains a mysterious new power which allows her to unravel her body into strings. A flashback shows that Jolyne and her boyfriend Romeo Jisso hit a bystander by accident but hid the body. However, Romeo then betrayed Jolyne by hiring a corrupt lawyer, resulting in her being condemned to 15 years in prison. Jolyne manages to exact revenge on the lawyer, but she still stands to lose her youth in the dreary Green Dolphin Street Prison.
Jolyne is briefed on the few official rules inside of Green Dolphin Street Prison before she is shoved into the female ward. In her cell, Jolyne meets her cellmate Gwess. Gwess is a two-faced cellmate who somehow acquired Jolyne's pendant and refuses to give it back. However, Jolyne is more worried about Gwess's strange parakeet. The next morning, Jolyne investigates the parakeet and finds that it is merely an empty husk with the shrunken remains of a body inside. Suddenly, Jolyne finds herself shrunk as well, allowing Gwess to capture her. Jolyne is forced to don a rat skin to scout for ways to escape the prison. The plan goes awry, and Jolyne is soon attacked by Gwess's Stand Goo Goo Dolls. Thankfully, Jolyne also awakens her own Stand, Stone Free, which she uses to beat Gwess into submission.
3 (155)
Jolyne acclimates herself to prison and to her Stone Free, exploring its abilities and limits. Suddenly, Jolyne sees a mysterious boy who warns her not to meet a coming visitor. The next day, Jolyne is called to the meeting rooms, discreetly receiving a gift from the boy on the way. Jolyne then meets her father Jotaro Kujo, who reveals that Jolyne was framed for murder by a follower of DIO named Johngalli A. Their tense reunion is interrupted when Johngalli A.'s Stand begins its attack.
4 (156)
Jolyne and Jotaro are trapped in the meeting room with Johngalli A.'s bullet-redirecting Stand Manhattan Transfer. The mysterious boy reappears to tell Jolyne about a secret passage beneath the prison, but Johngalli A. detects the boy and sends his Stand to pursue him. Jolyne decides to protect Emporio, with Jotaro reluctantly following. Reaching a hidden maintenance area, Jolyne avoids a shot to the head from Johngalli A. and manages to capture and crush Manhattan Transfer. Johngalli A. reappears, but Jotaro quickly defeats him. Jolyne nonetheless realizes that something is wrong and, noticing several discrepancies, realizes that she has been experiencing a dream and wakes up. The real attack was a hallucination combined with an acid that slowly melts its victims, from which Jolyne only awoke due to the boy's gift. Awake but still immobilized, Jolyne summons Stone Free in desperation.
5 (157)
Jolyne and Jotaro awake from their respective hallucinations to find themselves immobilized and being melted by acid. Jotaro throws Jolyne into the door's electronic lock, and the two of them manage to exit the meeting room. Jotaro guides Jolyne through the prison as they make their way toward the beach, where a submarine awaits them. However, Jotaro and Jolyne are caught in a pincer attack from the real Johngalli A. and a second enemy Stand named Whitesnake. Whitesnake ambushes Jotaro and steals two DISCs from him, robbing him of his power and rendering him comatose. Jolyne puts Jotaro in the submarine, but surrenders to the guards in order to pursue Whitesnake's user and reclaim her father's DISCs in hopes of saving his life. Jolyne thus allies herself with the mysterious boy, Emporio Alnino.
6 (158)
Jolyne is put into solitary confinement for her attempted evasion, but Emporio plans on meeting Ermes at her request. In the medical ward, Ermes remembers pricking herself on Jolyne's pendant before selling it. Suddenly, she discovers that she can make stickers appear on her palm. When she puts a sticker on an object, she finds that she is able to duplicate it. Using her new power, Ermes attacks a janitor who tried to rob her; when DISCs suddenly eject themselves from his head, Ermes takes one out of curiosity. The janitor, an unstable depressive named Thunder McQueen, later confronts Ermes about the DISC. Though he shows no hostility, McQueen attempts suicide in front of her, causing his Stand Highway to Hell to force Ermes to share his injuries. While attempting to escape from him, Ermes meets Emporio, who shows her his Stand Burning Down the House and explains the situation to her. Ermes is forced to confront McQueen as he tries to electrocute himself, but she manages to knock him out. After seizing the janitor's hidden fortune, Ermes decides to ally herself with Jolyne.
One evening, two men in the prison's farmlands are killed by a mysterious monster. The next day, a search party of five female prisoners is organized to scan the farmlands. Jolyne volunteers to be part of the group, having read McQueen's memory DISC and seen a stash of DISCs in the wheel of a tractor. The group is forced to put on special bomb bracelets that trigger if they go too far from their leading officer. Suddenly, Jolyne and Ermes notice that their group has gained an extra inmate, but find themselves unable to pinpoint the intruder. However, the guard is suddenly killed and dragged into the water. Ermes and Jolyne are forced to retrieve the corpse and fight off the culprit, a strange monster that can multiply in the water.
Jolyne and Ermes attempt to find the enemy among their group, but soon discover that all four inmates have been killed and used as puppets for the real enemy. The enemy reveals itself as Foo Fighters, a plankton colony made sentient by a DISC and tasked with protecting Whitesnake's stash of DISCs. Foo Fighters divides into two: one part continues dragging the guard's corpse away to trigger the bracelets, while the other runs to protect its stash of DISCs. Ermes defeats the enemy in the water by luring it onto land and dehydrating it. Meanwhile, Jolyne fights Foo Fighters and manages to start the tractor, forcing Foo Fighters to cross the farmlands and dehydrate itself in order to stop it. However, Jolyne decides to spare the enemy by giving it water, reasoning that its mission was the only identity it had. Touched, Foo Fighters allies itself with Jolyne and Ermes, reassembling one of the inmates' corpses to blend in. Jolyne retrieves Star Platinum's DISC. Later, Whitesnake and its user, prison chaplain Enrico Pucci, discover the theft.
9 (161)
In order to get rid of Jolyne and retrieve Star Platinum's DISC, Pucci manipulates another female prisoner, Miraschon, into doing his bidding. In the recreation grounds, Jolyne and Foo Fighters are playing catch when Miraschon confronts them. Miraschon bets the two cannot complete 100 consecutive throws, which Jolyne and F.F. manage. When Miraschon offers to repeat the bet, Ermes accepts to play with F.F. in Jolyne's stead. Interrupted by a guard, Ermes is forced to cheat to catch the ball, activating Miraschon's Stand Marilyn Manson. The Stand seizes not only Ermes's money but her liver as well, intending to sell it to the black market. Jolyne and F.F. enter another bet with Miraschon, and are forced to play catch as they attempt to pursue and defeat Miraschon. Jolyne manages to corner Miraschon in a service lift and beat her into submission with the ball, winning the bet and saving Ermes's life.

Jolyne meets with Emporio and another companion, Weather Report. Weather, an amnesiac whose memories were stolen by Whitesnake, can control the weather with his Stand. The group manages to escape from one of Pucci's agents, Lang Rangler, though Lang manages to graze Jolyne with his spit. While Emporio stays behind, Jolyne tries to bribe her way to the courtyard. However, she soon begins to float in zero gravity due to Lang's ability, Jumpin' Jack Flash. Lang Rangler attempts to steal the DISC, but Weather confronts him and protects the DISC. Jolyne and Weather pursue Lang to the laundry room, with the courtyard merely one hallway away.

(サヴェジ・ガーデン作戦 (中庭へ向かえ!) その② Saveji Gāden Sakusen (Nakaniwa e Mukae!) Sono 2)
Enrico Pucci discovers and listens to Jolyne's call. Meanwhile, in the laundry room, Jolyne discovers that the loss of gravity is creating a dangerous vacuum around her and Weather. Thankfully, Weather manages to trap some air by creating cloud suits for the two of them. Lang begins attacking the two from afar by shooting projectiles from his wrists. Lang punctures both Weather's and Jolyne's suits, but Weather sacrifices his own suit to aid Jolyne, taking severe damage. Jolyne manages to pull Lang inside of the vacuum, forcing him to cancel his power and leaving Jolyne free to pummel him. Weather, gravely wounded, is forced to rest in hiding. Jolyne, faced with one last door, uses Lang's card to trick the man on the other side into opening it. The man is revealed to be Pucci himself, returning from the courtyard.
12 (164)
To avoid being exposed as Whitesnake's user, Pucci allows Jolyne to pass him and reach the courtyard. However, Jolyne is confronted by a prison guard manipulated by Whitesnake. The guard shoots Jolyne down, and Star Platinum's DISC falls to the ground. Trapped in the laundry room, the most Weather can do is disrupt Whitesnake's plans by summoning a rain of poisonous frogs. As Jolyne tries her best to protect herself from the rain of frogs, Pucci manages to escape by using the frogs to manipulate another guard. Once the rain stops, Pucci sends Whitesnake to the courtyard to retrieve the DISC. However, a surviving Jolyne seizes the DISC and passes it to Savage Garden, revealed to be a messenger pigeon sent by the Foundation. Jolyne's allies arrive at the courtyard, forcing Whitesnake and Pucci to escape. The pigeon flies off with Star Platinum's DISC, but Jolyne still needs to retrieve Jotaro's memory DISC to save him. Later, Pucci meets with another inmate and presents him with one of DIO's bones.

13 (165)
Jolyne and F.F., worried about Ermes's recent disappearance, decide to investigate her past. Ermes's reason for purposely coming to Green Dolphin Street Prison is revealed: following the death of her sister Gloria Costello, Ermes hopes to find her killer, Sports Maxx, and take revenge on him. Ermes, who has been observing Sports Maxx's every habit, confronts him and seals him inside a sewage pipe. As Jolyne and F.F. confront the two, Maxx unveils his Stand Limp Bizkit, along with its power to revive the dead as invisible corpses.
14 (166)
Despite seemingly killing Sports Maxx, the trio remain unsettled, especially with F.F. gravely injured. Ermes's fears are proven true when she realizes that Sports Maxx has used his own Stand to revive himself and escape his watery grave. In the prison graveyard, Ermes and Jolyne are cornered by Sports Maxx and his legion of the undead. Ermes puts herself in harm's way to find Maxx, and ultimately triumphs over the invisible killer. After knocking out Maxx's DISCs and killing him for good, Ermes feels her sister's spirit comforting her before passing out.
15 (167)
In a flashback, Pucci asks Maxx to revive one of DIO's bones. To their surprise, something new is born from Maxx's efforts, and the new being begins moving toward the prison's Ultra Security House Unit. After reading Maxx's memory DISC, Jolyne allows herself to be detained in the Ultra Security House Unit to pursue the bone. F.F., suspecting that Whitesnake will attack her, asks fellow prisoner Narciso Anasui, who wields the Stand Diver Down, to help break into the ward. Anasui agrees to help F.F. without hesitation, revealing that he has fallen in love with Jolyne. Meanwhile, prison guards Sonny Likir and Viviano Westwood enter a fistfight after one sprays water on the other. Unbeknownst to Jolyne, Pucci has sent no less than four Stand Users after Jolyne. One of these Stand Users wields Survivor, a Stand that causes its victims to go berserk and become violent. Opening all the cells, a triumphant Viviano Westwood announces a free-for-all.
16 (168)
Anasui and F.F. have nearly reached the Ultra Security House Unit. Meanwhile, herself affected by Survivor, Jolyne is forced to engage in a brawl against Viviano Westwood. Westwood reveals his own Stand, Planet Waves, which draws small meteorites from space to act as small projectiles against his opponents. After a long battle, during which another inmate steals the bone, Jolyne manages to outsmart Westwood by using his own boot to capture the force and flames of his meteorites. Jolyne thus declares her victory.
17 (169)
Jolyne realizes that her battle is not yet over as two Stand Users approach her. One of them introduces himself as Kenzou, an elderly martial artist and former cult leader who can instantly drown his opponents. Anasui and F.F. finally reach Jolyne, with the latter entering a battle with Kenzou. Kenzou soon reveals his Stand Dragon's Dream, which allows him to protect himself by standing in lucky spots and trigger lethal attacks toward unlucky spots. An ambivalent Anasui and a wounded Jolyne are forced to observe the fight from afar. Though F.F.'s inhuman nature allows her to survive several attacks, Dragon's Dream triggers a series of unfortunate events that lead to a piece of metal slicing her head open.
18 (170)
The fight against Kenzou continues as F.F. seeks water to heal herself and misdirect Kenzou. However, Kenzou's ability knocks her down to the ward's execution room, where she finds herself trapped in an active electric chair. Though F.F. is electrocuted, she successfully misdirects Kenzou and manages to share the electrocution with him. Despite Anasui's warning, Jolyne pursues the combatants in order to help F.F. When Kenzou attempts to attack Jolyne, Anasui and his Diver Down phase into her body and disassemble Kenzou's legs, turning them into makeshift springs. F.F. regains consciousness as Kenzou is put out of commission.
19 (171)
At the Speedwagon Foundation facility where Jotaro Kujo is taken care of, several doctors keep track of his status. When a doctor tries to touch his hat, Jotaro instinctively slams his arm towards a doctor, breaking an IV drop container. The cuts he sustains from the glass form the name "Jolyne." At the same time, Jolyne finds the same word etched on her own forearm and realizes that she has come to fully understand her father. Anasui, F.F., and Jolyne continue pursuing the bone and, to their horror, see that all of the dead prisoners have turned into plants. Jolyne herself also begins to turn into a plant when caught in the sun's light. The three discover that the bone has given birth to a Green Baby with a familiar star birthmark on its back, and decide to seize the baby in hopes of luring Whitesnake to them. The group also finds Guccio, the user of Survivor, and puts him out of commission. Outside the ward, the Stand Yo-Yo Ma suddenly appears and devours the dormant Green Baby whole. The group decides to split up, with Yo-Yo Ma escaping with Anasui and Jolyne while F.F. assassinates its user, D an G. As her allies leave, F.F. notices that her jaw has melted and realizes Yo-Yo Ma's true danger.
20 (172)
Jolyne, Anasui, and Yo-Yo Ma are forced to flee from approaching prison guards through a swamp. The guards corner the group, but Anasui manages to incapacitate them. Afterward, Jolyne discovers that her tongue is full of holes, which renders her unable to warn Anasui about Yo-Yo Ma. Jolyne decides to provoke Yo-Yo Ma into attacking, ultimately succeeding in warning Anasui but failing to decipher the Stand's method of attack. Anasui subsequently outsmarts the Stand by wiring its sensor to a frog's brain, effectively neutralizing it. Meanwhile, F.F. finds and attempts to kill D an G, but is prevented from doing so by Enrico Pucci, who reveals himself as Whitesnake's user.
Whitesnake attacks F.F. and attempts to reclaim her Stand DISC, but F.F. sacrifices her body, eliminates D an G, and distracts Pucci long enough to reach a water faucet. However, Pucci inserts a Stand DISC that boils water into her, seemingly destroying her. Meanwhile, with Yo-Yo Ma finally disintegrating, Jolyne and Anasui notice the Green Baby escaping into a nearby patch of grass. The two soon discover that the they are unable to reach the baby due to its Stand, Green, Green Grass of Home, shrinking any potential threats proportionally to their distance from it. Despite being shrunk to the size of an ant, the two manage to trap the Stand inside a bottle. When the Green Baby kicks the bottle toward them, Anasui is nearly crushed by the bottle's weight. However, the baby abruptly stops its attack and restores the two of them to normal size, having taken an interest in Jolyne's own birthmark. For his part, Anasui concludes that the baby cannot be left alive.

However, the soul that appears from Anasui's body is F.F.'s. Having cured Anasui's wounds and saved the DISC, F.F.'s spirit expresses her gratitude at being able to bid farewell to Jolyne before disappearing into the sky.
23 (175)
Having read DIO's diary and fused with the Green Baby, Enrico Pucci leaves Green Dolphin Street Prison and moves toward his final destination. Emporio meets with Jolyne, who has been placed in solitary confinement amidst the prison's heightened security. Jolyne announces her intention to break out of prison and foil Pucci's plans, but the two are interrupted by the prison's head guard, Miuccia Miuller, and her Stand Jail House Lock. Jolyne attempts to attack the head guard, only to find herself back in her regular cell. Gwess reveals that Jolyne is suffering from an affliction that limits her short-term memory to three items at a time. Despite Miu Miu's attempts to prevent her from retaining her memories, Jolyne stitches a command to meet Emporio on her own arm. Meanwhile, Emporio is revealed to be suffering from the same affliction.
Jolyne manages to identify and pursue Miu Miu, but loses track of her in the prison's hallways. Narrowly escaping the prison guards, Jolyne manages to reach Emporio, who intends to somehow print a picture of Miu Miu's face. Suddenly, Miu Miu appears behind the two, having followed Jolyne, and shoots both the boy and his computer. Jolyne chases Miu Miu into the hallway, where the head guard calls for backup, causing Jolyne to lose track of her. As the guards prepare to shoot, Emporio gives Jolyne a binary print-out of Miu Miu's face, which she uses to identify and defeat her enemy. The two hold Miu Miu hostage, using her Jail House Lock to aid their escape. Jolyne reunites with Ermes at the medical ward, and the three break out of prison in pursuit of Pucci. For his own part, Pucci feels himself losing control of his own Stand. Nevertheless, the priest resolves to reach his destination, Kennedy Space Center, where he will await the new moon and finally reach Heaven.

When he is suddenly taken hostage by one of the three men, a drug addict named Ungalo, Pucci realizes Ungalo's true heritage and charges the addict with protecting him. While riding in the back of a truck, Weather and Anasui are suddenly accosted by fictional characters. Anasui and the truck driver have their souls separated from their bodies by the fictional characters, but Weather protects all three of their bodies from the crash that follows. Anasui's soul attempts to pursue his body, only to be attacked by the Big Bad Wolf from Little Red Riding Hood. After defeating the Wolf, Anasui's soul catches a glimpse of his body and Weather riding a bus into the nearby city. Meanwhile, Weather senses that the enemy's attack has only just begun.
26 (178)
Anasui's separated soul attempts to catch up to his body, but is pulled into the story of The Wolf and the Seven Young Goats. Weather Report is similarly separated from his body upon meeting Van Gogh's Self-Portrait. Though the two heroes attempt to prevent the stories from moving forward, the two ultimately collide with each other and are both fatally wounded. However, Weather has Van Gogh's portrait create a new character named Put Back, who returns all of the fictional characters and separated souls to their proper places. Struck with horror at the nullification of his ability, Ungalo slips into a coma. Meanwhile, Jolyne reunites with Romeo, who begs for her forgiveness and gives her the keys to his helicopter.
Jolyne, Ermes, and Emporio fly toward Cape Canaveral in Romeo's helicopter. Suddenly, the group's eyelids begin to droop and bleed. When Ermes notices something flying inside the helicopter, the group decides to jump out of the helicopter to catch a clear glimpse of the rod-shaped organisms attacking them. After the three land on water, the enemy Stand user Rikiel reveals himself to them. Emporio notices that Rikiel is able to use the rods to suck body heat, inflicting various illnesses. To counter him, Jolyne lights herself on fire to protect her body heat. However, Rikiel does the same, allowing him to see a weakness inside her mouth. Rikiel's rods damage Jolyne's hypothalamus and blind her, but Jolyne closes her eyes and senses Rikiel's position, allowing her to pummel him until he finally collapses. Nearly dead, Rikiel tells the heroes that he has fulfilled his purpose in Pucci's road to heaven, and that Weather Report is the priest's twin brother. An incredulous Ermes immediately knocks him out. The rods, now without their user, fly free into the sky.

(天国の時 新月まであと3日 Tengoku no Toki Shingetsu made Ato Mikka)
In Orlando, Jolyne, Emporio and Ermes arrive at the hospital where Pucci is hiding. Jolyne and Ermes plan to confront Pucci while a Speedwagon Foundation agent retrieves Jotaro's memory DISC from Emporio. At the same time, Anasui and Weather approach the hospital from the other side. As Jolyne and Ermes approach Pucci's room, he and Donatello Versus awaken the latter's Stand ability, creating a large tunnel into the ground. Certain the hole is a trap, Jolyne nonetheless pursues the two enemies into the darkness. Noticing a dropped spoon in the tunnel, Jolyne is suddenly imprisoned inside the memory of a crashing plane by Versus's Stand, Under World. When Jolyne attempts to have Ermes pull her up, Under World uses the ground's memory of Sports Maxx to pull her into the crashing plane as well.
Jolyne and Ermes, trapped within the memory of a crashing plane, see Pucci and Versus outside the plane's window. Jolyne jumps out of the plane and attempts to attack Pucci, only to be trapped inside the memory of another crashing fighter jet. Jolyne pilots the fighter jet into the airplane and returns to Ermes, knowing the jet will only crash when it hits the ground. The two contact Emporio, who reveals that the passengers in two seats were unharmed in the crash. Jolyne and Ermes attempt to claim the safe seats, but Under World drags three children into the memory, forcing Jolyne to choose between the children's lives and her own. The plane crashes and explodes, but Jolyne and Ermes use their abilities to save all five living souls. Cornered, Versus uses Under World to steal Weather Report's memory DISC from Pucci and return it to its owner, having read its frightening contents behind Pucci's back. Rainbows begin to appear within the cavern, indicating the rebirth of Heavy Weather.
30 (182)
Pucci and Versus separately retreat, the latter hoping to acquire Jotaro's memory DISC and inherit the ability to go to Heaven. Jolyne and Ermes find themselves back in the hospital, where it is revealed that Heavy Weather causes all who touch its rainbows to begin turning into infectious snails. The two escape the hospital without falling victim to the ability, but are knocked onto piles of snails by a crashing car. Suddenly, Jolyne glimpses Versus, who has tracked down and incapacitated Emporio. Jolyne exploits her new snail-like form to approach Versus, incidentally touching Emporio. Versus fends her off by summoning a memory of salt and retrieves Jotaro's memory DISC, but finds himself turning into a snail as well. Jolyne and Ermes are thus able to take Versus hostage, but are distracted by the approach of snail-eating insects. Meanwhile, Weather tells Anasui that he senses Pucci nearby and intends to kill the priest himself.
31 (183)
In 1972, a mother secretly swaps her dying newborn child with one of the twin brothers born to the Pucci family on the same night. Fifteen years later, a teenage Enrico Pucci meets a vampire named Dio Brando in the catacombs of a church. Pucci lets Dio stay for the night; in return, Dio offers Pucci a mysterious Arrow and heals his curled toes. Pucci later overhears Wes's illegitimate mother confess to her misdeeds. One day, Pucci comes home to find that his sister Perla has fallen in love with a man named Wes Bluemarine, Enrico's lost twin brother. Enrico enlists the help of a local detective agency to break up the couple, but the detective instead lynches Wes. Perla throws herself off a cliff in despair, failing to notice that Wes was still alive. Wes and Pucci, both distraught over Perla's death, awaken their respective Stand abilities. When snails begin to blanket his hometown, Pucci confronts Wes and removes his memories in the form of a DISC. In the present, Jolyne and company force Versus to drive toward Weather's location as the snail eaters eat at their flesh.
32 (184)
Weather Report and Anasui agree to confront Pucci together. Suddenly, Pucci appears from beneath a pile of snails and cuts Weather's leg off. The priest reveals that Heavy Weather operates via subliminal messages sent via its rainbows, and that he has countered the ability by removing his own sense of sight. Pucci attempts to kill Anasui, but Weather freezes his own blood, creating a maze of spikes beneath Pucci's feet. Pucci then uses Whitesnake to force Anasui to act as a navigator, but realizes too late that a blood splatter on his chest has been frozen and has pierced his neck. Weather freezes his own flowing blood, binding himself to Pucci and pulling him into his Stand's range. As Weather prepares to kill Pucci, Jolyne's group suddenly swerves through the conflict and crashes. In the midst of the crash, Pucci kills Weather, disguises Versus as himself, and escapes. After Anasui finishes off Versus, the reunited group finds Weather Report's corpse and discover that he has used Whitesnake to leave his Stand DISC behind for his allies.

After delivering Jotaro's memory DISC to the Speedwagon Foundation, Jolyne's reunited group finally approaches the Kennedy Space Center by car. Anasui attempts to slip a wedding ring on a sleeping Jolyne's figure, only for Jolyne to unwittingly throw the ring at a nearby crocodile. Emporio has Ermes hold his ghost computer while he explains the layout of the space center and Pucci's likely route through it. Meanwhile, Pucci enters the visitor center at Kennedy Space Center, and his Stand begins to evolve. Jolyne's group suddenly find themselves unable to drive further, and realize that gravity itself is pulling them away from Pucci. Jolyne, Anasui, and Emporio grab onto a nearby railing, but are unable to catch Ermes as she falls toward the horizon. The three survivors carry onward to the visitor center, where they are confronted by Pucci's evolved Stand, C-MOON. Jolyne blocks a punch from the Stand, but finds that her own hand is turning inside out.

The group battles C-MOON, which declares its intention to kill Jolyne first. The Stand hits Jolyne's leg, but she uses its follow-up attack to strike her inverted hand and leg, returning them to normal. Jolyne enters a brawl with the Stand, whose movements prove too precise for it to be an automated Stand. Anasui attempts to intervene, but C-MOON strikes him with floor tiles, throwing him toward the horizon. Jolyne catches Anasui and strangles C-MOON in one move with her string, but C-MOON grabs her string and begins to invert it. Diver Down submerges into the string and redirects C-MOON's inversion before it can reach Anasui, leaving Jolyne free to attack the Stand. Suddenly, Pucci appears behind Jolyne, who finds herself floating in the air. Pucci, the center of the new gravity, successfully uses C-MOON to strike her in the heart, seemingly killing her. However, Emporio receives a message from a revived Jotaro, who reassures him that Jolyne is still alive. Realizing that the priest has sensed Jolyne's survival as well, Anasui chases after the priest with the intent to kill him.

Pucci, still bewildered by Jolyne's survival, is attacked by Anasui, who uses a civilian as a decoy in order to approach the priest. The priest inverts his own face to avoid Anasui's attack, but is interrupted by Jolyne before he can land the finishing blow. Pucci turns his attention to Jolyne, who is hiding somewhere nearby, and attempts to draw her out. C-MOON eventually strikes her arms, only for them to take the form of a Möbius strip and avoid inversion. Jolyne reveals herself, having used the properties of the Möbius strip to nullify C-MOON's attack, and the two enter a standoff. Pucci seizes the gun of a nearby police officer and fires at Jolyne, who suddenly disappears. A confused Pucci is attacked by Star Platinum, sending him flying into a window frame. Jotaro and Ermes arrive at last, and the group surrounds Pucci. However, Pucci realizes that he only needs the gravity of the new moon to reach his Stand's final form, and uses the window frame to reach a nearby space shuttle. As the space shuttle floats away from the Kennedy Space Center, Pucci's body begins to radiate light.

Anasui attempts to attack a jubilant Pucci, but the final form of Pucci's Stand bursts out of his arm as the group's view is engulfed in light. Gravity returns to normal, propelling Jolyne's group away from the shuttle. When the group comes to, they realize that time is moving much faster than usual. Jotaro, fearing that Pucci may be accelerating alongside the flow of time, directs the group to climb atop a nearby building. As Jolyne creates a web around the group with her string, Jotaro stops time and attempts to locate Pucci. However, Jotaro realizes too late that Pucci plans to launch himself at the group, and his throat is slit shortly after time resumes. Thanks to Anasui's Diver Down, however, Jotaro is only wounded by Pucci's attack. Pucci temporarily ceases his assault to preach about his true goals to the group. Ending his speech with the revelation that time will continue accelerating, Pucci decides to name his completed Stand Made in Heaven.

As Pucci rushes toward the group once more, Emporio uses Kiss's stickers with his ghost gun to propel the group away from Pucci. Anasui directs Emporio to lead the group toward the ocean, planning to give Jotaro a signal the moment Pucci attacks him. Touched by Anasui's hope, Jolyne gives Anasui permission to propose to her. The group lands in the ocean, but time's continued acceleration renders the waves Pucci leaves behind him impossible to perceive. As Anasui is struck through the heart, Jotaro stops time and moves to attack Pucci. However, he realizes that Pucci has thrown knives at Jolyne, forcing him to try to save his daughter before attacking the priest. Time resumes just before Star Platinum can reach the priest, who cuts off both of Ermes's arms and slices Jotaro's face in two. Jolyne, barely alive and aware that she cannot escape Pucci, ties Emporio to a dolphin before engaging in a final hopeless duel with the priest. As time accelerates, Emporio witnesses the end of the universe before awakening outside the meeting rooms at Green Dolphin Street Prison.

Emporio hears Jolyne and Jotaro's voices from one of the meeting rooms. Peering inside, Emporio finds that the two are substantially different from the people he knew, though they play the same roles. Pucci appears and explains that all surviving beings have passed through the end of the universe and arrived at a new one where they have foreknowledge of what will happen to them in the future. Emporio tries desperately to avoid retreating to his room, but his fate is inevitable. Pucci moves to cave his head in, but Emporio uses Pucci's attack to insert Weather Report's Stand DISC into himself. Although Pucci accelerates time once more, Weather Report fills the room with pure oxygen, crippling both Emporio and Pucci. As the Stand moves to finish Pucci off, the priest pleads with Emporio to let him live until he reaches Cape Canaveral, but his pleas fall on deaf ears. Weather Report pummels Pucci into the ground, and a new universe is born. Outside Green Dolphin Street Prison, Emporio meets his reincarnated friends and tearfully introduces himself to them once more.
