A place for me to test things I don't understand

T-This is... my body's moving on it's own...! There's no doubt about it! This has to be that Parrot's... Stand attack!

The unnamed Petsounds's Stand is the Stand of Petsounds, one of the Primary Antagonists of Crazy Diamond's Demonic Heartbreak, a spinoff manga of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

Appearance

Petsounds's Stand's reels unfurling
Petsounds's Stand has the appearance of a mechanical bird, slightly larger than its user. The head is small, with it having tubes protruding out from it, and a large ridge along the top. While its central body is unseen, it appears to have a thin torso with several appendages. These arms have several circular joints which connect to several circular reels. These reels can unfurl into long thin strips, similar to a tape dispenser.

The Stand's legs are also fully mechanical in appearance, with them starting from the center of one of the reels. These legs have another reels attached at where a knee joint would be, and they connect to large mechanical talons (similar to that of a large predatory bird)[1]

Abilities

Punch cards flying out of Hol Horse from Petsounds's Stand attack
Petsounds's Stand, while still hasn't been fully eplained, a devastating long-range Stand which focuses on psychological through replay events that Petsounds has observed in the past.

Memory Punch Cards

Petsounds's Stand's primary form of attack is to use punched cards. These punched cards are released from the reels on the body of the Stand. They are then punched and inserted into the target, before bursting out of their body through the mouth, ears, and other holes. Their eyes also gain a dimpled texture, with multiple holes appearing in them.

These Punched Cards replay a sound from the past inside of a person, such as when it was used on Hol Horse he began to relive his confrontation with DIO. When someone hears a sound played by the punch card, they are forced force to reenact the event, such as Hol Horse moving to shoot as he did in his confrontation with DIO.[2] This can even be done to those who have not lived through the said past event, as Hiraoka was forced to relive the experience of Wilson Phillips, which caused him to crash his car.[3] Petsounds can also do this to multiple people at a time, as he was able to force several pastry chefs to reenact the actions of women who sacraficed themselves to DIO. [4]

The only way to break stop oneself from reenacting an event is by focusing in a stronger memory. This was shown by Hol Horse when he was able to stop reenacting his interaction with DIO after thinking about him fleeing Cairo with Boingo.

Trivia

  • While no direct connection has been made, the eyes on Petsound's victims bear a striking resemblance to that of Moody Blues, another Stand that revolves around replaying past events.

Jolyne's Pendant

So the power of nature is far more effective than the power of string... I get it... and... control this with your inner strength and protect yourself... that's the meaning of that Pendant that caused it to star appearing after it cut my finger...
Jolyne describing the Pendant, Chapter 596: Chapter 596

Jolyne's Pendant (more generally the Pendant (ライター, Raitā)) is a prominent item introduced in the sixth part of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, Stone Ocean. The Pendant acts and the shard of a Stand Arrow it holds act as an important item in the beginning part of Stone Ocean

Appearance

The inside of the Pendant with the Stand Arrow shard and the photo of Jolyne's Parents
Jolyne's Pendant is a small Golden Pendant in the shape of a beatle, similar to the one seen on Polnareff's Stand Arrow. The Pendant opens through pressing the top spike on the Pendant. Inside is a photo of Jolyne's Father, Jotaro Kujo, and her mother. Inside is also a small shard of an unidentified Stand arrow. The Pendant also contains a transmiter which allows the Pendant, and by proxy Jolyne, to by tracked by the Speedwagon Foundation.

History

The Pendant was originally owned by Jotaro before the events of Stone Ocean. However, at an unknown time, he gave to Jolyne's Mother, who was told to give it to her if she was ever in danger.

Jolyne comes to Prison

Tasking Giorno with keeping his lighter lit
The lighter came into possesion of Jolyne shortly after she was taken to a holding cell. She was given the pendant along with other essentials like clothing by her lawyer. However, she soon pricked her finger on a shard of a Stand Arrow kept inside. After learning abount the pendant's origin and learning it was from her father, she throws the pendant away in Anger. Later, Jolyne discovers her power to control a string from her finger, and soon realizes that this power came from her getting pricked by the shard in the pendant

After the pendant was thrown away by Jolyne, it was found by Ermes, who pricked herself and then sold the pendant to Gwess. Soon after pricking herself, she had fallen ill.

Battle against Gwess

Jolyne is brought to her cell, where she meets Gwess, her roommate. Jolyne quickly notices the pendant, now in Gwess's possesion, but Gwess refuses to give free, insisiting that despite the fact it is a familial heirloom, she will only sell it for $200. The next day, Gwess wakes Jolyne up and shows her the pendant and shows her that it is empty and that she found it that way. Later though while looking in the trash bin, Jolyne spots the photo of her parents. Later after discovering Gwess's ability and going to the security room with her, Gwess uses the pendant to distract Jolyne by dropping the pendant on the ground and punches her through the bars of the gate. However, Jolyne defeats Gwess soon after and regains the pendant

Properties

Standard Lighter Functions

Polpo's Lighter itself has similar functionality to most lighters, as it is able to produce a flame from the ignition of the fuel inside. Unlike most standard lighters though, the Lighter is able to stay lit for an extremely long time, without the user holding down a button or switch that releases gas. The user does need to ignite the fuel with the manual striker, but the lighter seems to constantly release the fuel (since after its reignition by the janitor, it created a large flame from a large amount of gas being released after it was put out).

Black Sabbath Connection

The Lighter and Black Sabbath display a strong connection with each other, as Black Sabbath is able to tell when the lighter is put out or re-lit. It is also able to figure out who re-lit the lighter or find people in the general area who observed the re-lighting of the lighter. Black Sabbath uses this connection to the Lighter to assault inductees of Passione with the Stand Arrow.

It is equally likely that the Lighter is actually a part of Black Sabbath, and that it is an item that came into existence along with the Stand to act as its trigger for activation. This is primarily due to the fact that the lighter only showed up after Polpo chewed on his fingers, which could be an indication of the lighter being summoned by Polpo.

Silver Chariot Rewrite

The "Chariot" symbolizes invasion and victory.
—Jean Pierre Polnareff, Chapter 124: Silver Chariot, Part 1

Silver Chariot (シルバーチャリオッツ(銀の戦車), Shirubā Chariottsu) is the Stand of Jean Pierre Polnareff, primarily featured in the third part of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, Stardust Crusaders, and briefly in the fifth part, Vento Aureo.

Appearance

SilverChariot5Appearance.png

Silver Chariot is a slightly thin, robotic humanoid. It is usually clad in silver, heavy plate armor all over its body, which gives it a bulkier look. This armor aslo has spiked shoulder pads and elbow pads. Silver Chariot has a distinctive helmet with a jewel embedded in the forehead and several pointed down projections protecting the mouth and cheeks. Chariot's sword can be unequipped for tasks that require two hands. According to JOJOVELLER, its design is a combination of a robot with European armor.[1] Silver Chariot weilds a cup-hilted rapier which closely resembles an épée almost constantly

During Polnareff's fight with Vanilla Ice, Cream annihilates a portion of Silver Chariot's left thigh, and his left ring and pinky finger, though these injuries seem to fixed by the time of Part 5. After fighting Diavolo in the late nineties, Silver Chariot loses its legs and right forearm. They are replaced with metal spike-like appendages.[2]

Personality

The Chariot

Like most Stands, Silver Chariot is devoid of any will or personality, only showing limited expression through its eyes. It serves Polnareff without question, though it does display a high learning ability, as Polnareff rarely gives it direct orders. Its usually silent, Silver Chariot's battle cry "Hora Hora Hora",[3] and it seems to have had a tendency to shout "Pami" when Polnareff was a child.[4]

Silver Chariot is a dedicated combat-oriented close-range Stand. It represents the tarot card The Chariot, which symbolizes invasion and victory.[5]

Abilities

Silver Chariot is a powerful, battle-dedicated close-range Stand that primarily fights with the rapier it is equipped with.

Silver Chariot stabs 5 coins and flames in one sword stroke

It is an incredibly agile Stand, and it usually relies on attacking enemies with barrages of sword slashes and thrusts before the opponent can react. It can also use this agility, along with its sword, to defend and deflect attacks aimed at it or its user. Silver Chariot usually doesn't stray far away from Polnareff, but still has the ability to move several meters away from him to attack.[6] Silver Chariot has the distinct weakness of not being able to see whatever its user cannot see, making it weak if Polnareff is in any way in a blind spot.

Silver Chariot creating afterimages
  • Speed: Silver Chariot is an incredibly quick Stand. Its speed is high enough that it's able to deflect bullets shot at a point-blank range, block light ray energy shots of the Sun, and intercept Hanged Man multiple times who is stated to travel between reflective surfaces at the speed of light. This extreme speed can be increased however, as Silver Chariot is weighed down by its armor and needs to shed it to reach that full speed.[3] After shedding its armor, it is able to reach its peak speed. In this state, Silver Chariot is able to appear in multiple places at once, due to moving at a speed faster than the human eye can process (even faster than those with faster reaction times) can process, thus creating illusory afterimages.[3] While wielding Anubis, it is capable of matching Star Platinum and its barrage of punches, and it was even stated by Jotaro Later that Silver Chariot is a hand he needed to borderline go all out against.[7]
  • Power: Even though the majority of Silver Chariot's power is in its astonishing speed, it still has great destructive power, as it is able to instantly slice through solid rock and concrete with ease.[8] It was even shown able to shake the entirety of DIO's Mansion when Polnareff was sent into a fit of rage.[9]. Silver Chariot's lifting strength though is portrayed inconsistently, first shown to be able to lift Polnareff[10] against Muhammad Avdol but then shown to be barely strong enough to slowly pull its user against Vanilla Ice, although its User was very injured at that point.[11]
  • Precision: Silver Chariot's speed is perhaps only matched by its precision. Having trained his Stand for several years, Polnareff has enough control over Silver Chariot's movement to be able to overall fight like an experienced fencer, to slice through a bullet or skewer several coins and balls of fire in a single thrust when they align.[5] Its swordsmanship was also shown in its first fight with Anubis, a Stand which not only gives its user expert skills with a sword, but consistently increases its skill during and after a battle.

Techniques

Hora Rush Link to this section
SC v MR.gif

Hora Rush is Silver Chariot's Stand rush. With its incredible speed and precision, it is capable of delivering a barrage of slashes from its sword, either to incapacitate an enemy or demolish objects.

Armor Link to this section
Silverchariotarmorremoval.gif

Silver Chariot's oddest property is that it is clad in a heavy suit of silver armor.

The armor lowers its speed, but also prevents it from being injured, as Polnareff does not receive the same injuries that the armor does as long as it's donned. The armor is shown to be capable of withstanding extreme heat without melting.[3] This ability's drawback seems to be Polnareff's inability to see through Silver Chariot's eyes. Polnareff is able to shed Silver Chariot's armor in order to gain more tremendous speed (enough for afterimages to appear), but doing so renders his Stand more vulnerable to attack as a trade-off.[10]

Sword Launch Link to this section
Silverchariotswordlaunch.gif

Silver Chariot's only ranged ability and a secret technique.[12] This launches his sword with great force and precision, capable of ricocheting off other objects and striking with enough force to pierce a human body. The major drawback of doing this is that Silver Chariot can only materialize one sword, so Polnareff must retrieve the weapon before being able to attack again.

Since Star Platinum looked like a human, Araki decided to make Silver Chariot look more robotic, as well as contrasting Star Platinum's punching fighting style with swords.[1]

Penelope's Wound

If you're not Penelope's friend, you'll have to hang yourself!
—Clown, JORGE JOESTAR Chapter 14: Desolation Row

Penelope's Wound is the Wound of Penelope de la Rosa, featured in the light novel JORGE JOESTAR. The Wound developed from her experience with Javier Cortez and her severe Coulrophobia.[1]

Appearance

TBA

Abilities

Penelope's Wound ability awakens due to her constant fear of Javier Cortes appearing in her dreams dressed as a clown, attempting to manipulate her into creating locked rooms so she can kill her mother. Penelope's Wound activates when she is enraged, distressed, or afraid, causing the creation of locked rooms that entrap anyone in the surrounding area.

Locked Room Suicide

Whenever Penelope is enraged, distressed, or afraid, Penelope's wound automatically activates and begins to form a locked room around whoever is causing her to feel that way. Usually, the Wound closes and locks doors around the target in order to trap them. Other times though, if the target is not in a room, the Wound will create a locked room from the enviornment around her, such as when she uses the dirt and grass outside to trap somone.

Biology Manipulation Link to this section
Debut: JORGE JOESTAR Chapter 10: H.G. Wells
Jorge 12-01.jpg

In the novel Jorge Joestar, Kars expresses a higher skill of Biology Manipulation of not only himself but other beings:

  • Kars and his other versions have complete control over the form of their bodies. They use this ability to form themselves into The Eyed Balloon with the 36 versions of the.
    • Kars also uses this ability to convert the 36 versions of himself into a fuel for the Giotto Spaceship, which Kars uses to return to earth.
  • Kars is able to make his Biology compatible with electronic devices, as after observing some visual data, he is able to plug himself into a device and project the information. He does this by producing a light from his mouth, and a celophane like membrane inbetween his upper and lower jaw, turning his mouth into a functioning projector.
  • He can manipulate the bodies of humans by tweaking their Brains, similar to the functions of the Stone Mask. By changing a persons brain, it can change their bodie's electric signals, blood flow, bones, organs, skin, etc. Kars uses this ability to break all of Joji's body before reforming them to make him 20cm taller, all with minimal pain. Kars also suggests that he can make wings grow from Joji's back with this same technique.

Blog Work

0

Welcome one and all, to hopefully the first of many blogs I will be creating on Powerscaling JoJo's Bizarre Adventure! This blog can hopefully be a point of discussion, friendly debate, and learning for all not just about JoJo, but about Powerscaling and my thoughts with it. Before we get into the fun though, I have a few things to get out of the way.

I won't lie to you, Powerscaling, Vs Debates, anything of the sorts, are weird. Most people really don't get much experience in the community, outside of watching a Death Battle video here or there. Honestly I don't blame anyone for thinking it is weird, especially considering how toxic it can be, and how convoluted it is. So of all things, why would I be interested in it, let alone talk about it with you all. Simply put... I don't know. I guess one of the main things I can pinpoint is just that natural incline many people have to represent the "most powerful character in fiction", and while I don't think any JoJo character is close to that level, I'm happy to represent a series I love and show people their true power among fiction. As well, I know many people will have a similar answer to this idea. How JoJo is more based on how people use their abilities rather than how powerful they are, and how it doesn't matter. That's valid, and I know it doesn't matter all in all, but I think it would be fun to talk about.

Now that that's out of the way, I have a few more things to say. Generally when going into powerscaling, it is important to understand a few concepts. Now, I'm not going to dump a bunch of knowlege onto you, but it is important to getting a quick idea of a few concepts out of the way. More in depth ideas will be discussed individually in certain sections, and I'll clarify many things later.

  • Destructive Capacity - The ammount of damage a character can produce
  • Attack Potency - The Destructive Capacity that an attack can be equivalent too. A character with a certain degree of attack potency does not need to cause destructive feats on that level, but can cause damage to characters who can withstand such forces.
  • Speed - The distance someone, or something can travel over a given time. This is split up into 5 types. Attack Speed (how fast something can attack), Combat Speed (how fast something can move in combat), Reaction Speed (how fast something can react to something), Travel Speed (how fast something can move/travel), and Flight Speed (how fast something can fly if it is able too)
  • Durability - The amount of force something is able to withstand
  • Dimensionality - The state of having any number of dimensions.

There are also a few important side concepts/notes:

  • A character's destructive capacity can be lower or equal to their attack potency, but it can not be higher.
  • Similarly, a character's attack potency can be lower or equal to their durability, but it can not be higher (this is due to Newton's Third Law).
  • All stats (attack potency, speed, durability) all have levels that exceed standard numbers
  • There are things beyond infinity.
  • Powerscaling is stupid, since the community accepts some laws like Newton's Third Law, but excludes things like the principle of Conservation of Energy.

Finally, just to give a basic rundown, I'll be going over my top 10 for JoJo Stands/Abilities in JoJo. This includes all of the Manga, Light Novels, and Games.

#10 - D4C Love Train

D4C Love Train Infobox Manga.JPG
  • Tier - 2-A
  • Attack Potency - At least Small City level (just the spine created a massive storm over Kansas)
  • Speed - MFTL-MFTL+ (reacted to both Johnny's Bullets and Diego's attacks), Passive (Love Train is a passive barrier around Valentine)
  • Durability - Small City level (Should be relative to Attack Potency), Multiversal + (Love Train is a construct that contains Infinite Worlds/Dimensions

#9 - Ball Breaker

Ball Breaker Appearance.png
  • Tier - 2-A
  • Attack Potency - Multiversal+ (Broke through Love Train)
  • Speed - MFTL-MFTL+ (blitzed Valentine), Infinite-Inaccessible (Should be comparable to Act4 which can passively move in The World's timestop)
  • Durability - Multiversal+ (Should be relative to Attack Potency)

#8 - Tusk

Tusk ACT4 Appearance.png
  • Tier - 2-A
  • Attack Potency - Multiversal+ (Broke through Love Train)
  • Speed - MFTL-MFTL+ (blitzed Valentine and D4C, hit The World), Infinite-Inaccessible (Can passively move in The World's timestop)
  • Durability - Multiversal+ (Should be relative to Attack Potency)

#7 - Gold Experience Requiem

GER Appearance.png
  • Tier - 2-A
  • Attack Potency - Multiversal+ (Stated to be beyond any Stand by any measuring rod like Stand Stats, GER also reverts deaths infinitely across numerous spacetime continuums)
  • Speed - MFTL-MFTL+ (should be Superior to Gold Experience, Blitzed King Crimson), Infinite-Immeasurable (Can move in Erased Time)
  • Durability - Multiversal+ (Should be relative to Attack Potency)

#6 - Gold Experience Requiem (JORGE JOESTAR)

Jorge 15-29.jpg
  • Tier - 2-A
  • Attack Potency - Multiversal+ (should be relative to cannon self)
  • Speed - MFTL-MFTL+ (should be relative to cannon self), Infinite-Immeasurable (should be relative to cannon self)
  • Durability - Multiversal+ (Should be relative to Attack Potency)

#5 - The World Over Heaven

TWOHEoH.PNG
  • Tier - 2-A
  • Attack Potency - Multi Solar System Level (Created the Over Heaven Area, a Dimension with multiple stars in it), Multiversal+ (Negated both the Infinite Spin, Return to Zero, and the Infinite Death Loop), Durability Negation via Existence Erasure, should be far higher with the Holy Corpse and Souls
  • Speed - MFTL-MFTL+ (Superior to his canon self, Comparable to Gold Eperience Requiem and Star Platinum, Superior to Stone Free and D4C), At least Infinite, possibly up to Immeasurable (Reacted to and negtated Gold Experience Requiem's Return to Zero)
  • Durability - Multi Solar System Level to Multiversal+ (Should be relative to Attack Potency)

The World Over Heaven breaks through the bottom of the top 5, and may I say that this Stand is a breath of fresh air for scaling. Simply because we definitely know what it's ability is, but that doesn't mean there isn't a little bit of inconsistency and wiggle room.

The World Over Heaven's primary ability is to overwrite reality. This lets Dio erase the existence of anything he wants, steal/absorb souls and use them as slaves, heal himself, resurrect the dead and completely negate almost any defense that exists in the main series. The only downside to this power is that he has to touch whatever he wants to overwrite. This downside IS crippling, but there is some inconsistency with it. You see, Dio does things in the game which he really shouldn't be able to do since he can't touch them. One main example is that he created the over heaven their, so unless he punched it into existence, there has to be some other explanation for it. The explanation I follow is that The World Over Heaven doesn't technically need to punch something. As long as he can react to something, and has his hands functioning, he can overwrite it.

#4 - Ultimate Lifeform (JORGE JOESTAR)

Kars Infobox Jorge.jpg
  • Tier - 2-A
  • Attack Potency - multi-City Block to Island Level (should be relative to cannon self), Large Mountain to Country+ Level (Withstood an impact which flipped Britain), Universe level (can withstand the end of the Universe), Multiversal+ (dought on par with Dio)
  • Speed - FTL (should be relative to cannon self) MFTL+ (activated Killer Queen's bombs Sextillions of times), at least Infinite, up to Inaccessible-Immeasurable (fought on par with Dio)
  • Durability - Multiversal+ (Should be relative to Attack Potency), Type 1-3 Immortality

#3 - Wonder of U

borderless
  • Tier - Undefined
  • Attack Potency - Undefined (varies based on attack)
  • Speed - MFTL-MFTL+ (faster than Soft & Wet) Passive (the Flow of Calamity is passively active for Wonder of U)
  • Durability - Undefined (Should be relative to Attack Potency), type 8 Immortality

#2 - Beyond/Trinity

JorgeDioBeyond.jpg
  • Tier - At least 2-A
  • Attack Potency - Undefined
  • Speed - Passive
  • Durability - Undefined, type 8 Immortality

#1 - Soft & Wet: Go Beyond

Go Beyond.png
  • Tier - 1-A
  • Attack Potency - Outerversal (by being beyond Logic, Go Beyond has bubbles which chould be beyond logical things like dimensions and even concepts)
  • Speed - Irrelevant (by nature of being Outerversal Projecticles, they should be above concepts such as distance, space, and time, and would thus be Irrelevant speed)
  • Durability - Outerversal (the bubbles should have a durability relative to their Attack Potency)
