Biography

Wataru Takagi was born on July 25, 1966, in Chiba Prefecture.

Originally, Takagi wanted to be a stage actor but became disinterested in that particular career. He reoriented himself after seeing an advert on the Katsuta Voice Actor Academy and devoted himself to becoming a voice actor.

Takagi made his debut in 1987 as a voice actor in the TV anime Mister Ajikko although some sources claim that he made his debut in 1988.[3] Since then, Takagi has appeared in multiple animes playing various roles. In 2002, Takagi associated himself with Kappei Yamaguchi and Tomokazu Seki to form a trio of voice actors named the "Sannin no Kai".[4] Takagi expanded his activity to that of a stage actor. He also became the representative of the A Capella Club Theatrical Company.[4]

In 2016, Wataru Takagi made his debut as a live-action actor and appeared in the TV Drama Sanada Maru as Oyamada Shigemasa. He's then taken several other live-action roles.
