Takashi Tanaka (田中 崇, Tanaka Takashi), better known under the stage name Banjo Ginga (銀河 万丈, Ginga Banjō), is a Japanese actor, voice actor and narrator affiliated with Aoni Production. He is credited for his role as Daniel J. D'Arby in the anime adaptation of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders.

He is also notebale for voicing Gihren Zabi in Mobile Suit Gundam, Souther in Fist of the North Star, Heihachi Mishima and Jack in the Tekken series, and Liquid Snake and Zero in the Metal Gear series, and Thanos in the Japanese dub of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Biography

Takashi Tanaka was born in Kōfu, Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan in 1948.

He graduated from Seikei University and participated in theater and the creation of radio dramas while attending there. He used to perform Yōkyoku, a part of Noh theater, while in his 20s under the agency Theater Echo.[2]

In his early 30s, he decided to become a voice actor and in 1976 he made his debut as a voice actor for an anime by voicing various characters in Divine Demon-Dragon Gaiking.[2]

On his birthday in 1982 he changed to the stage name Banjo Ginga, and was first credited as such in Combat Mecha Xabungle.

He is married to Japanese actress and voice actress Gara Takashima. The two of them have played roles in multiple overlapping projects, such as Fist of the North Star, Detective Conan, and the Japanese dub of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

He has been working in narration for various Japanese television stations and commercials, such as the Nippon TV entertainment features and the Japan News Network news feature.[2]
