Keiji Ando
Keiji Ando (安藤 敬而, Andō Keiji) is a Japanese novelist and the author of the spin-off short story The Witness for the Gang published in JOJO magazine 2022 WINTER.
Biography
Keijo Ando was born in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan.[1] He developed stories in his head ever since he was a child but only actually wrote his first novel during his summer vacation in university. He was lonely and filled with frustration at not being able to talk to people, inspiring him to write. His novel's genre was biological science fiction and he tried submitting it for a certain company's newcomer award but it was rejected. Ando wrote several more works and applied for the JUMP Novel Newcomer Award but was unsuccessful. Eventually in 2015, his story won the JUMP Novel Newcomer Award, although he used a pen name for it.
Ando prefers to take the challenge of creating novels that explore the lore of existing works.[2] He made his debut as a novelist in June 2019 with the novelization of the TV anime The Magnificent Kotobuki, titled The Magnificent Kotobuki: 1001 Nights in the Wilderness. He wrote a short story titled 1000 Dreams That I Want to Fulfill Before I Die that was included in the anthology collection 5-minutes stories: a heart-throbbing end, released on April 2, 2021. He later wrote a novel adaptation of the video game Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin titled Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin - Kokorowa Rice Cultivation Journal that released on October 4, 2021. Ando also wrote a light novel for the manga Kaiju No. 8, titled Kaiju No. 8: Close-up! The Third Division, that released on November 4, 2022.
