Rohan Kishibe accompanies Kyoka Izumi, a manga magazine editor, to buy a mansion at a village far off from civilization. They soon discover the village is home to a group of millionaires who had all mysteriously become rich at the age of 25. Rohan and Kyoka enter one of the houses, only to realize that they are trapped by a mysterious power that won't let them progress unless they follow specific rules lest they suffer the consequences.
Rohan Kishibe narrates to his editor Minoru Kaigamori about his encounter with the Mutsu-kabe Hill Yokai. For context, Rohan tells the story of Naoko Osato who accidentally murdered her boyfriend Gunpei Kamafusa. Gunpei's wound refused to stop bleeding. Panicking as her father and her fiance, Shuichi, were approaching her house, Naoko had to resort to drinking Gunpei's constantly spilling blood after hiding his corpse. After marrying Shuichi in the years afterward, Naoko secretly took care of Gunpei's corpse. Years later, Rohan meets with Naoko's daughter whom she had with Gunpei, and accidentally murders her. Rohan escapes his fate by making the girl unable to see him, causing the Mutsukabezaka to manifest itself in anger before reviving the girl and making her leave, as the yokai needs a witness when it dies. Rohan leaves safely and with a story for his manga.
Rohan Kishibe narrates about a terrible incident in which he crossed a line that he shouldn't have. He introduces Yoma Hashimoto, a young man who was one day scouted as a model. Told to work on his body, Yoma became an obsessed sportsman, devoting every aspect of his life to sport and bodybuilding. At the same time, he developed a rivalry with Rohan. One day as they ran on neighboring treadmills, Rohan teased him about his yet-to-be-successful career. He and Yoma played a game in which they would have to catch a remote once their treadmills reached maximum speed. However, Yoma revealed his supernaturally fit muscles and broke the window behind them so that the loser would fall to his death. Rohan loses and manipulates Yoma through Heaven's Door to survive while Yoma falls. However, Rohan assumes Yoma was an avatar of the Greek God, Hermes, and is sure that Yoma somehow survived. Hoping to escape a god's wrath, Rohan quickly leaves the gym.
Rohan narrates a strange incident he witnessed in Italy. One day, Rohan mistakenly entered the priest's side of a confessional and an unknown man came to confess his sin. During his youth, the man was working at a corn market when a beggar asked him for food. He angrily forced the beggar to work by tossing a bag of corn into his arms. The beggar died from exhaustion and his ghost swore to take everything from him at his happiest moment. Disturbingly, the confessor became rich and had a daughter with a supermodel. One day, the spirit possessed the daughter and forced the confessor to play a game of luck. The man had to throw a piece of popcorn high in the air and catch it with his mouth, three times in a row. The confessor lost at the third round and was decapitated. However, it is revealed that he was still alive because he swapped face with a servant. Thus, he tricked both the ghost and his servant. The confessor now has two vengeful ghosts following him around the clock, ready to kill him the moment he feels happy again.
