Minoru Kaigamori
Minoru Kaigamori (貝森 稔) is a tertiary ally featured in the one-shot Mutsu-kabe Hill.
He is an editor at Shueisha who is assigned to the manga artist Rohan Kishibe. Rohan tells him the story of the Mutsu-kabe Hill Yokai to explain why he chose to go bankrupt.
Appearance
Kaigamori is a young man with an average build and slightly chubby face. He has small eyes and sideburns that are long and stylized, pointed toward his mouth. His outfit consists of a long-sleeved coat and pants adorned with a crosshatch pattern. His coat has a wide, upturned collar, with light frilled trims running below it on each side. In the OVA, the trims are changed to stripes on the coat. He also wears a matching beret decorated with small circular beads. He wears a watch on his left wrist.

Personality

Kaigamori is a courteous manga editor, though doesn't know how to react in meetings with Rohan Kishibe. His knowledge outside of manga appears somewhat lacking, as he mistakenly assumes an art book of De Staël is related to a new music band. Rohan shows surprise that an editor like him wouldn't know that, though Kaigamori is disinterested at Rohan's explanation of the artist. When Rohan calls him out for arriving to their meeting a few minutes early, Kaigamori is shocked but apologizes for not knowing it would be rude. Although he isn't the type to bluntly say what he thinks, his expression of silently averting his eyes gives away that he thinks Rohan is crazy upon learning that Rohan went bankrupt to research a yokai legend.[4]
History
Background
Minoru Kaigamori is a 23-year-old manga editor. In 2006, it is his first year in the company. He is married with no kids.[4]
Mutsu-kabe Hill
Kaigamori meets Rohan because Rohan requests an advance payment for his manuscript. However, Kaigamori arrives six minutes early and is scolded by the manga artist, who thinks arriving early is just as rude as arriving late. Rohan explains that he has gone bankrupt and is currently living at Koichi Hirose's place, and that his only possession is an art book of De Staël. Tamami Kobayashi and Akira Otoishi interrupt the meeting to ask for autographs, but are scolded by Kaigamori because they are busy at the moment. Rohan asks him not to treat him like a slow manga artist, and reveals that he has already signed the autographs.
Rohan explains that for his research about the yokai legend, he bought six mountains in order to stop a corporation who wanted to build a resort in that area. When the resort plan was abandoned, Rohan's land lost its value and he is unable to recover his money. Kaigamori starts to worry about Rohan's mental state, and glances the other way to avoid saying anything. However, Rohan tells his editor the research was a success and begins telling him about it.[4]
In the OVA, Rohan's friends appear at the table. Kaigamori tells them not to intrude on their meeting but Rohan motions for him to stop talking.
Okamisama
Though not mentioned by name, Rohan's editor persuades him to engage with fans at an exhibition and in-person autograph session at Setagaya Art Museum when Rohan asks him for an advance on his manuscript fee. After the event, Rohan turns down his invitation to grab drinks at a post-event celebration.[5] When Rohan is hospitalized from the Okamisama incident, it causes a great deal of trouble to his editor and acquaintances.[6]
