Interviewer: Are you aware that without you helping out Tetsuo Hara, we may have never had known Hokuto no Ken? (Fist of the North Star)

Buichi Terasawa: This legend is false, it was Tetsuo Hara who came to see me to become my assistant and I rejected him. But without that, he wouldn't have gone elsewhere and wouldn't have done what he did... So I do not regret having pushed him away.

On the contrary, I supported Hirohiko Araki (author of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure). At the beginning he wasn't very skilled at drawing but he had a very strong capacity for storytelling. I supported him because drawing can easily be improved over time but not storytelling. I encouraged him because he could tell stories better than draw them, and he was already telling his stories very well... In one of his first works, the "BT" is a reference to my name "Buichi Terasawa". It's in "Ma Shônen B.T.". I see this as an homage from his part.
