Gravity of the New Moon (新月の重力, Shingetsu no Jūryoku) is the thirty-third episode of Stone Ocean and the one-hundred-eighty-fifth episode of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime. The episode covers from Chapter 138 to Chapter 140, and 3 pages from Chapter 141 of the original manga.

Enrico Pucci reaches Cape Canaveral, where a new ability forms within him. Jolyne and her allies drive toward Cape Canaveral in pursuit of the priest, but find themselves opposed by the force of gravity itself.

Summary

On March 21st, at 10:35 AM — less than two days before the New Moon — the team drive on the way to Cape Canaveral. Inside the car, Jolyne grasps Weather Report's Stand DISC and reflects on his sacrifice. Knowing that their fate is out of her hands, Jolyne contemplates on whether to wait for Jotaro or not. Days of fatigue soon hit her, and she slumps on Anasui's shoulder.

Anasui finds the sight of her dozing off adorable and pulls out a jeweled ring that he had stored for her when they break out of prison. He slips this on her ring finger, hoping that she would accept his love for her once she wakes up. Suddenly, Ermes screams out loud. She points at the alligators that had travelled too far inland. Jolyne wakes up from the commotion and, seeing the size of the creatures like the ones in prison, she throws the first thing she had on hand at them... not knowing that it was Anasui's gift. Anasui breaks down after finding that it is no longer with her, and the three can only watch as he whines.

Later, Emporio asks Ermes to hold onto his computer set that he had pulled out from his hand for navigation. Their destination: Kennedy Space Center. Presuming that this may be the same route that Pucci took, their next objective is to admit through the visitor center and circle the area with the tour bus.

At the admissions, a pained and sweaty Pucci is cut off from the line due to the number of visitors. Thankfully, one of them tells the guard that he is with him. The visitor's act of kindness proves to be a facade when he pesters Pucci — being a priest — with religious questions, trying to be a "good" person. Annoyed, Pucci drives him away, and he suddenly breaks into a sweat once again. As he silently sweats with his breath growing heavier, the space center speaker overhead narrates about how a rocket launching over the equator gives it an advantage over the equatorial line's weakened gravity. Not only that, but Cape Canaveral is found to be 50 meters above the sea level, which meant that the location is situated at a spot with a weaker gravity. All at the same time, Pucci's face morphs, his eyelashes grow longer, and the soda from a nearby cup floats to the same annoying visitor's face. Instantaneously, he seems to "accelerate" onto a metal fence, and he is instantly killed from the impalement.

Back with Jolyne, Emporio asks her if she plans to wait for the Speedwagon Foundation and Jotaro, or keep pursuing Pucci. Anasui tells her to continue the pursuit since they won't know if her father will come on time. With Pucci's allies decimated and Weather severely wounding him, they have a greater advantage — it's only just a matter of taking the chance. As he says this, the car grinds into a halt despite Emporio's foot at the gas pedal. When Jolyne looks outside the window, she sees a couple inside a car yelling in desperation while they move backwards and everything around them seems to be rolling away in one direction. They see piles of bodies and vehicles flying toward their direction before they realize that they are falling sideways. The four exit the car with Anasui holding onto the road with Diver Down, but as Ermes reaches out for Jolyne's hand, a debris hits her, and she falls along with the rest of everything around them.

Jolyne realizes that this is a demonstration of the power that Jotaro had sealed away in Egypt twenty years ago, something Pucci had named "heaven." Anasui notices that only some trees are being uprooted, meaning that the visitors' center may still be in one piece. Emporio worries that this is only the beginning of "heaven", with the new moon still coming soon. Using the guard rails and Jolyne's instinct, they climb upwards as Anasui watches the glimmer of resolve on her face. Thinking to himself, he notes that only he can protect her now, with Weather Report dead and Jotaro missing in action. Inside, Pucci begins to monologue about gravity as his Stand begins to evolve.

Having reached the admissions gate, Emporio checks his phone only to find it not functioning. Once again, Anasui asks Jolyne if Pucci is nearby, to which she says that his presence was as if he had been there not too long ago. Behind her, a looming figure appears, unaffected by the gravity. It reaches its arm out to hit her, but Jolyne successfully uses Stone Free to block the attack. She recognizes it as the The Green Baby fully evolved. All of a sudden, her arm begins to grow heavier, and it drops toward the ground against her will. As she watches the grotesque sight of her bones and muscles being torn apart from each other — turning inside out — due to the weight of the gravity, Pucci speaks through the Stand and tells her that he had pursued her firsthand instead of waiting for two days.

At 11:23 AM, with 36 hours and 37 minutes on the clock, C-Moon confronts Jolyne and the team.
