It's as if he's a different person...! (――まるで別人……!)
Narciso Anasui, Stone Ocean Wafer Set 3

Heavy Weather, Part 1 (ヘビー・ウェザー その①, Hebī Wezā Sono 1) is the thirtieth episode of Stone Ocean and the one-hundred-eighty-second episode of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: The Animation. The episode covers from Chapter 125 to Chapter 126, Chapter 130 to Chapter 132, Pages 6 to 7 of Chapter 133, and the first 2 pages of Chapter 134.

With Weather Report's memories returned to him, the true potential of his Stand ability is unleashed, threatening to bury humanity itself under a wave of snails. In the midst of the destruction, Jolyne and Ermes pursue Donatello Versus, who seeks Jotaro's memory DISC in hopes of obtaining Heaven for himself.

Summary

Heavy Weather creates a swarm of snails and turns people into snails as well.

The episode resumes right after Weather Report knocks over the disabled man. A crowd forms around Weather, pestering him to let the man sit down. Further enraged, Weather grabs the man by the neck and uses his Stand to make water gush out of the man's eyes. Weather Report then starts to walk away, unfazed by Anasui's utter confusion. Anasui notes that, all of a sudden, Weather has seemingly become a completely different person.

Meanwhile, beneath the hospital, rainbows begin to close in on Donatello's feet as he hangs from Stone Free's string. Ermes attempts to finish off Donatello, but her Stand's fist passes through a rainbow created by Weather Report. Ermes's arm then bursts open, and snail eggs and shells fall from the wound. Donatello explains to Jolyne and Ermes that the rainbows are part of Weather Report's ability, which he regained from the memories within his DISC.

Donatello Versus catches Emporio.

Pucci turns to leave, proclaiming that humanity itself will perish before the new moon unless Weather is killed. He also reminds the two heroes to kill Donatello, who finally untangles himself and flees outside the tunnel. Jolyne and Ermes chase after Donatello, but are stopped by two security guards. As soon as Weather's rainbows touch the guards, they begin to burst into snail shells and eggs as well, before finally becoming giant snails themselves. Jolyne and Ermes, horrified by Weather's new ability, contemplate whether they should focus on stopping Weather or killing Pucci. The two ultimately escape the hospital by creating a duplicate of the glass door and using it as a platform to avoid touching the growing swarm of snails around them, which inherit the same ability as the rainbows.

The heroes are attacked by snail-eating beetles.

As Donatello escapes the hospital, he remembers that Jolyne had used a phone earlier and has his Stand, Under World, dig up the memory of her calling Emporio. Knowing that Emporio has Jotaro's DISC, Donatello decides to go after Emporio to retrieve the DISC. Donatello easily finds Emporio by calling his phone number and swiftly knocks him out. Jolyne and Ermes find Donatello, but a sudden car crash knocks the two onto piles of nearby snails. Jolyne attempts to grab Emporio with her string, but Donatello summons a memory of the Miami Dolphins to drag her away. However, Jolyne escapes by using her snail body to fit into a pole. As Jolyne moves to attack Donatello, the latter unearths a memory of a body of salt water, quickly dehydrating Jolyne. Donatello realizes Emporio's ability and triumphantly seizes the DISC from him, only for Jolyne to reveal that she had touched Emporio in the chaos, turning him into a snail. Thus, Donatello finds himself helpless as he begins to transform as well.

Planning to find Weather first, Jolyne and Ermes open a door to a car that is nearby, only to realize that snail-eating beetles have already infested the car. Meanwhile, Weather Report informs Anasui that Pucci is less than 20 meters away from him, declaring that taking revenge on the priest is his sole purpose in life.

Manga/Anime Differences

  • The sequence where Weather attacks a doctor and a patient are altered to occur outside the hospital.
  • The scene of Weather seducing and electrocuting two women he meets is removed.
  • Ermes's transformation no longer begins inside the hospital.
  • The sequence where Jolyne and Ermes enter a car with snail-eating insects is moved after Donatello's defeat.
    • As such, Jolyne and Ermes now begin transforming after an unrelated car crash knocks the two of them onto nearby piles of snails.
  • Versus does not name Larry Csonka as the Miami Dolphins player dragging Jolyne away from him.
