Template:Book JORGE JOESTAR (ジョージ・ジョースター, Jōji Jōsutā) is a novel written and illustrated by Otaro Maijo. The cover depicting George Joestar II and a young Lisa Lisa was drawn by Hirohiko Araki. The novel was released as part of the special JoJo 25th Anniversary project "VS JOJO" on September 19, 2012.[1] A paperback version containing a few revisions released later on December 19, 2017.

JORGE JOESTAR includes a crossover of characters from parts one to seven of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Ryūsui Seiryōin's JDC Series, and Ōtarō Maijō's previous novels. While the novel contains a few illustrations depicting maps and puzzles for certain concepts, several hundreds of illustrations are only available outside the novel on Shueisha's website.[2]

George Joestar II (Jorge Joestar) lives on the island of La Palma, part of the Canary Islands in Spain, with his mother Erina Pendleton, and Elizabeth (Lisa Lisa). George and Erina eventually travel to England whereas Lisa Lisa moves to Italy with her adopted father, Straizo. George and Lisa Lisa pledge their love to each other, with George growing up to become a World War I air pilot and Lisa Lisa becoming a strong Ripple warrior.

In another universe, teenage detective Jorge Joestar sets out on a bizarre quest to solve a murder in Morioh. His journey eventually turns into a universe-hopping adventure after the island begins moving on its own, and he meets several Stand users along the way.

Summary

The odd-numbered chapters of the novel depict the life stories of George Joestar II and Lisa Lisa from 1900 to 1920, showcasing their development from children into adults. As children, George would often be bullied by Antonio Torres and his gang of friends, with Lisa Lisa having to save him from them. After Lisa Lisa moves to live with Straizo, George continues living with Erina and a woman named Penelope de la Rosa, who can no longer live at her own house after developing a Wound ability. Their family later moves to England, eventually leading to George becoming the prime suspect in a murder case of one of his friends. As he grows up, George joins the Royal Air Force and marries Elizabeth. However, their wedding is threatened by a zombie invasion. Throughout his life, George makes new friends, such as Tsukumojuku Kato, Steven Motorize, Kenton Motorize, Darlington Motorize, John Moore-Brabazon, and Jim Graham.

The even-numbered chapters are set in 2012 after thirty-six universal resets, taking place in the 37th universe. It focuses on teenage detective Jorge Joestar, a Japanese boy adopted by the Joestar family and raised English. While investigating a recent string of incidents, Jorge comes across another young detective named Tsukumojuku Kato, who has somehow traveled between universes. After Tsukumojuku is suddenly found dead in Morioh, seemingly by Yoshikage Kira's hands, Jorge heads there to investigate. He becomes allies with Rohan Kishibe, Reimi Sugimoto, Koji Hirose, Muryotaisu Nijimura, and Fukashigi Nijimura. However, Passione suddenly invades Morioh and orders the assistance of detectives to find their boss, Diavolo. Along the way, Jorge ends up in outer space with Narancia Ghirga, and meets thirty-seven versions of Kars, each from a different universe. The original Kars adapts to creating his own Stands after seeing the abilities of Narancia and Enrico Pucci and accompanies the group back to Earth. Characters from the first universe and 37th universe eventually coincide, ultimately ending in a massive Stand battle with Dio Brando as he attempts his heaven ascension plan to gain unlimited power.

New Concepts

In addition to having Stands from the original manga such as King Crimson and Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, JORGE JOESTAR introduces several new Stands that are mainly named after films or TV series. There are also four new Stand-like phenomena that are not truly Stands but may have similar abilities.

  • Wounds (ウゥンド, Wundo) are created from repeated trauma to one's mind and body. They are less controllable than Stands are, and tend to serve a purpose of stopping the user's source of pain.
  • Bounds (バウンド, Baundo) allow an individual to completely merge with an element or environment and freely manipulate that element.
  • Beyond (ビヨンド, Biyondo) is a metafictional concept that can be considered the author of the story. The power chooses its heroes and if the heroes believe in Beyond, they can control their destiny.
  • Mass Hysteria (集団ヒステリー, Shūdan Hisuterī) is a concept loosely based on real life which affects people throughout the world. When humans imagine something out of anxiety or fear, their collective imaginations and emotions can manifest as surreal creatures, eventually spreading more fear from rumors of mysterious creature sightings.

Chapters

ONE: Tsukumojuku

George Joestar is an eleven year old boy living on La Palma with his mother, Erina Pendleton. As a foreigner with a meek disposition, he is constantly bullied by his classmates, most notably Antonio Torres, a brute who leads his own posse of bullies. Thankfully, Elizabeth Straizo (also known as Lisa Lisa), a girl that Erina had saved from a sinking ship, is always here to help him.

One day, after another day of being bullied and defended by Lisa Lisa, George learns that she will leave La Palma to go live with her adopted father Straizo. While George refuses to accept it at first, a strong speech from Erina and seeing Lisa Lisa cry for the first time convinces him to be brave. He becomes determined to stand up to his bullies and beat them up on his own. However, the next morning, George succumbs to fear and goes to school early to avoid his bullies. He learns that his bully Antonio Torres was crushed to death, which left him flat as a deflated balloon, and he is accused of having murdered Antonio because of his unusual behavior today. One of George's classmates, Tsukumojuku Kato, a Japanese and self-proclaimed child detective, enters the scene. Showing a replica of Antonio made of skin, Tsukumojuku explains that Antonio's mother constantly peels off patches of skin off her son to create copies of him, and the skin that was found was one of her works. Lisa Lisa comes out of the skin and says that Antonio's real killer is nearby, in the school. They find their teacher Mr. Fernandes, already turned into a Zombie and killed by the sunlight. They finally confront the real murderer: Alejandro Torres, Antonio's father who has turned into a vampire. With her Ripple powers, Lisa Lisa makes short work of Alejandro. During the fight, George tries to be brave and steps between Alejandro and Lisa Lisa, only to be knocked out by Lisa Lisa's attack.

When George wakes up, the whole affair has been dealt with. George wonders about the Ripple but refuses to learn it, stating he'd be too afraid in a fight. Straizo kindly notes that George was brave enough to act in the fight against Alejandro. Tsukumojuku soon comes to visit George and the two become best friends. Tsukumojuku talks about a mysterious power named Beyond which abandoned him, but George thinks he's delusional. When it is time for Lisa Lisa to leave, she jokes about marrying George and they both say they love each other. For the next four years, Tsukumojuku and George go on detective adventures and solve many mysteries. When he turns 15, Tsukumojuku has to go back to Japan. However, two months later, the boat Tsukumojuku had left on is found at the bottom of the sea by the army.

THREE: Wounds

Tsukumojuku is presumed dead after his disappearance. Assuming his days as a detective are over, George decides to study more seriously. He notably acquires a taste for literature. Erina decides to hire a tutor. She chooses Penelope de la Rosa, a girl a bit older than George who he and Tsukumojuku met on their last case. A man named Javier Cortes traumatized her with his powers, invading her dreams disguised as a clown and attempting to draw out her darkest emotions. Penelope helped catch Javier but developed a pathological fear of clowns and became a shut-in. Not even before George can start his lessons, Penelope comes to him in a panic and claims that Javier is back, as she's seen a monstrous clown roaming in her house. The same clown appears in George's house, locking him outside. George breaks in and slams a chair on the clown, destroying it. With Erina's counsel, George manages to learn that the clown is created from Penelope's mind and may even be a power meant to protect her. He manages to calm her and calls her power a "Wound". Because Penelope's mother thinks she's possessed by the devil and doesn't want her in her house, Penelope comes to live with the Joestars.

Six months later, Penelope sees her ex-boyfriend, a man named Edvard Noriega who abused her. Edvard asks for help, claiming he's seen a creepy guy with wings recently. Enraged to see him, Penelope creates a room of dirt with her power and the clown she summons hangs Edvard with a rope made of grass. George intervenes to save the man. Breaking in the room, George lets himself get hanged by the clown, before carving the word "murder" on himself, which affects Penelope's power and cancels it due to Penelope's guilt. At the hospital, George is told that the word "murder" will be forever carved on his stomach. Suddenly, they meet Lisa Lisa who's returned to La Palma to investigate the notorious "moth man" terrorizing the locals. When they return home, they find Erina and Straizo. Erina deems that George is old enough to know the truth about his father. She describes Jonathan Joestar and Dio Brando's story, Jonathan's death, and reveals that she's keeping Jonathan's head in the basement.

FIVE: Box

George, Erina, Lisa Lisa, Straizo, and Penelope head to a secret room in the basement, where they discover Jonathan Joestar's severed head. After Lisa Lisa reveals that she has the memory of a fearsome man who was in the coffin with her and Erina, Erina has Straizo and Penelope go upstairs so she can tell George and Lisa Lisa the whole story. Lisa Lisa explains that she's made her own research in England about Dio, but Erina refutes her findings. She describes Dio's vile personality and starts explaining about the time she spent with Dio after Jonathan's death.

After the boat on which Jonathan died was destroyed, Erina opened the lid of the coffin. She immediately saw DIO, his head grafted to Jonathan's body, who had managed to impale his feet to a part of the coffin. Dio used the baby Lisa Lisa as a hostage and Erina was forced to leave him near her. A nightmarish period as Dio's companion began for Erina. Dio was drinking her blood but he was catching prey to feed Erina and the baby. At one point, Dio even used a mysterious power to catch a bird. Dio also revealed to Erina that she was pregnant. A dispute began with the discovery of a second compartment under Erina, but Dio forced Erina to go there while he rested atop the coffin, with Lisa Lisa as a hostage. Moreover, Erina had to bear with Dio's verbal harassment and physical and psychological torture. Although Dio mostly tormented her, he also cajoled her when it seemed she would break down. Psychologically worn down, Erina even agreed to marry Dio. One night, Dio opened the lid and asked for a kiss. However, Erina had then regained her sense of self and pride, and recalled the muddy waters she washed herself in after Dio stole his first kiss. Dio was enraged but Erina was not afraid. Erina had also deduced that Dio was torturing her not for direct pleasure, but to spite Jonathan so it meant he was nearby. Erina found Jonathan's head in the water, miraculously preserved. Erina then stabbed herself, forcing Dio to heal her. When she woke up, Erina saw Dio, now much weaker than her, then realized that Dio was a lonely creature at heart. Feeling pity for him, Erina placed him into the bottom compartment of the coffin.

As Erina finishes telling her story, she claims that her sin was letting Dio Brando remain alive. After she was rescued, she had a fisherman weigh the coffin down and sink it. Erina had hope that as long as Dio Brando was still alive, Jonathan's body would also be alive, and she did not want to lose the chance to get his body back one day. Lisa Lisa explains that the power Dio had sounded like a Stand, which she learned that some people have while she was training with the Ripple masters. Erina, George and Lisa Lisa go back to the first floor, only to learn that seventy people had just perished in La Palma's church, including George's doctor who they had spoken to earlier. Lisa Lisa mentions that everyone who died had seen the Mothman and covered the walls of the church with drawings of it before they set the church on fire. Erina decides to move to England, and offers to take Penelope with them.

SEVEN: Airplanes

George moves to England with Erina and Penelope de la Rosa. The British prove unwelcoming to Erina and her family, but Robert E. O. Speedwagon, a friend of the family, helps rebuild the Joestar manor. Irritated by her neighbours, Erina prefers commuting to London. The Joestar now live off the profit that Erina's father's hospital makes. Erina starts her own company named the Star Mark Trading Company, based in London. The company purchases goods in Spain to sell in England, steadily increasing her profits. While Penelope and Erina work, George has transferred to Jonathan's old school, Hugh Hudson High, and is being bullied again because of his status as a fallen aristocrat, still richer than any of his classmates. This time, George defends himself when his classmates insult his mother, and Penelope frightens them with her Wound. Still, George regrets Tsukumojuku's death and wishes for a friend.

One day, George meets the Motorize siblings at the stiff cliffs along the sea. He sees one sibling pushing the other off the cliff while she's inside a strange machine, and jumps to rescue her, only to discover that the Motorize siblings are using a new invention, man-sized gliders. The boy, Steven, and his sister Kenton, were simply playing in the gliders. Steven has to reveal his own power, a pair of wings on his back he uses to fly and grab George. George quickly becomes friends with Steven, Kenton, and also their little sister Darlington who is also in his class. Darlington has a crush on George and is disappointed to hear him talk about another person as if he was in love with them, and George discovers that he's been in love with Lisa Lisa for some time. After a dispute, George suddenly meets Tsukumojuku, who's come to the Motorize's manor. George is astonished to see his old friend, who explains that he's in Japan in the year 2012 working with another Jorge Joestar. Moreover, Tsukumojuku theorizes that George's Beyond is the reason for this miraculous teleportation across space-time. George suddenly teleports to Lisa Lisa, who's in an underground temple beneath Rome, retrieving the Red Stone of Aja with Straizo and the other Ripple warriors. A monstrous chimera dubbed a Gorilla Spider appears, but George sees that it's the product of Lisa Lisa's imagination and he calms her down, making the monster disappear. They kiss, and discover a treasure chamber together. Lisa Lisa secures the Red Stone of Aja and makes George promise not to reveal its discovery to anyone. When the couple exits the tunnel, everyone is surprised to see George, and Lisa Lisa doesn't reveal to Straizo that she has the Super Aja in her possession.

When George calls home, Penelope tells him that Kenton is dead. George's airplane was at the scene and Kenton had told Steven that George invited her to the cliff beforehand. Shocked, George wonders if it was an accident. However, Erina fights back her tears to explain that Kenton was found with several stab wounds from a knife that bore the Joestar crest, and asks if George could explain what happened to the police and Steven.

NINE: Cliff

George is arrested instantly once he arrives home from Rome, suspected of the murder of Kenton Motorize. Her father, Ben Motorize, blames George. During his imprisonment, Lisa Lisa keeps him company in jail and hypnotizes the guards to stay hidden. For his part, Steven believes in George's innocence. However, George has a solid alibi since he was in Italy at the time of death and is eventually freed. Yet according to the police's report, George picked up a knife from home, flew his Star Shooter glider to the Motorize manor, spoke with Darlington, snuck out of the house, flew his glider to the cliffs, and then stabbed Kenton to death. George denies this but the police already finished their report, and so he is allowed to return home. Lisa Lisa heads back to Straizo for work.

Because he must participate in a jury trial, George can't go to school while the trial is going on so Penelope becomes his tutor once again. George decides to acquire a driver's license and Erina buys him a Rover 8. However, George then immediately takes it apart to see how it works. Since he didn't have a teacher like how he had Steven when he was making planes, he ends up breaking the car. George takes the car to an automotive garage in London and meets a college student named John Moore-Brabazon, a private mechanic to a man named Charles Rolls and a car enthusiast. Daring each other to race in the streets of London, George and John become friends. George joins John at the Royal Automobile Club. He greatly admires John's talent at mechanics, as he improves on the cars he repairs. Plus, John is a skilled car racer. Years pass and George is once again thrust into the world of airplanes because John will work on airplanes soon. He is reminded of Steven Motorize but Erina forbids him from approaching airplanes, sensing that they represent nothing good for him. A few days later, Darlington Motorize visits the Joestar Mansion. Darlington mentions a certain William Cardinal who wants to become a commissioned officer, and then accuses George of having led her on. Penelope sees them and angrily asks what Darlington is doing at their home, to which Darlington reveals that her father has new proof of George's guilt. Penelope is furious and uses her Wound to create a room trapping Darlington, although George jumps in as well. Darlington explains that she and Penelope have witnessed George's plane flying, although they have managed to keep it secret until now for George's sake. However, Penelope had written a note congratulating George on his "first flight" which the police found. Penelope feels guilty for her note which may put George in jail.

George thinks about accepting the plea bargain but Erina reminds him not to give up. George decides to solve the mystery of Kenton's murder, and Penelope helps him as she too had been investigating the case. They eventually suspect Steven of being the culprit. During a visit to the Motorize Manor, George speaks to Faraday the butler who had brought him to Tsukumojuku but is startled by his testimony. While George was seeing the Japanese boy Tsukumojuku Kato, Faraday instead saw a terrifying Spaniard kid who had no eyes. He was too terrified to tell anyone.

One year later, George is cleared of all suspicion and joins the Royal Aero Club. John becomes the first Englishman to fly a plane the year after that. Another year later, in 1910, Charles Rolls dies in an airplane crash and John decides to never fly again.

Chapter 2: Nishi Akatsuki

Jorge Joestar is a fifteen-year-old boy living in Fukui Prefecture, Japan, and working as a detective. His Japanese parents handed him over to the authorities when he was a baby and he was adopted by the Joestar family and raised in English. When he turns eighteen, he will have to pick either English or Japanese citizenship as well as decide on a formal name. Although his name is romanized in his passport as "Joji Joestar", he prefers the spelling "Jorge".

One evening, Jorge recalls the past fifteen locked room mysteries he's solved two years prior and is still bothered by them. He finds a map in a newspaper article detailing the locations of each murder and discovers that it is actually a puzzle. Jorge realizes that there must have been a mastermind who designed this puzzle as well as the fifteen locked room murders, despite the fifteen murderers who were caught having nothing in common. Struggling to find a solution, Jorge heads out and rides his bike north towards Takefu to find something like a locked room. Instead, he finds a farmhouse on fire, belonging to the Kato Family. In there, Jorge finds a boy swimming in a whirlpool of seawater. The boy, named Tsukumojuku Kato, reveals that he was on a boat in between the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico before suddenly ending up in that house from a tornado. However, Jorge notes that there's only one ocean. Tsukumojuku learns he's in a continent named Panlandia. The two teenagers introduce themselves as detectives and Tsukumojuku is shocked to learn that the boy he was talking to is also named Jorge Joestar. He wonders what Beyond is planning.

After conversing, Jorge and Tsukumojuku deduce that Tsukumojuku must have gone to a parallel universe through the Bermuda Triangle. After deducing a way on how to get Tsukumojuku back home, Tsukumojuku tells Jorge about his friend, the other George Joestar and about the same locked room mysteries they've solved. They have caught the culprit, named Javier Cortes, but Jorge prefers to solve his case without assistance and deduces that the mastermind must have used dreams, like Cortes, to control each of the murderers. Tsukumojuku confirms his theory and Jorge calls Masami Shirai, a policeman at the Fukui Police Department, to interrogate the fifteen murderers they caught about their dreams. Jorge learns that all of them have dreamed about a man named Yoshikage Kira, who left a message in their dreams stating "If Jorge Joestar ever comes to Morioh, I'll kill him". This only tempts Jorge more. He decides to head home first, saying his goodbyes to Tsukumojuku and offering to pay for his travel expenses. The next morning, Jorge learns that Tsukumojuku was murdered in Morioh.

Chapter 4: Morioh

Jorge Joestar heads to Morioh, wondering how Tsukumojuku arrived there so quickly. Tsukumojuku's body was found with a deep slit in his throat and a broad axe slung over his shoulder. He was naked, wrapped only in a diamond-shaped red cloth, and was also mounted on a bear, reminiscent of the folk tale Kintaro. Jorge gets off the train at Morioh Station, feeling a sense of déjà vu when he looks over the map of the town despite having never set foot here. Jorge heads for the Arrow Cross House where Tsukumojuku's body was found. At the house, he meets Rohan Kishibe (Universe 37), a manga artist. Rohan mentions that he had purchased the Arrow Cross House six months prior, frustrated that his house was already used for a murder. Rohan tells Jorge to only call him "Rohan" but Jorge hesitates so Rohan uses his Stand, Heaven's Door, to force Jorge to call only call him by his first name. Jorge discovers Stands and is intrigued by them.

Rohan then explains that his Arrow Cross House suddenly appeared five years ago, replacing an equally mysterious building named the Cube House by the locals. Rohan also mentions how several detectives were murdered in Morioh, all of the crime scenes having been designed to remind people of Japanese folk tales. Rohan takes Jorge to the scene of the locked room murder, where only the bear remains. Then Rohan shows Jorge photos of the crime scene which he's forced the police to give him with Heaven's Door, and one mystery arises: how did someone manage to bring a giant polar bear into the room without Rohan noticing? Later, Rohan tells Jorge about Reimi Sugimoto (Universe 37), an amnesiac girl he employs as a caretaker although Jorge can't see her. On the night of the murder, Reimi and Rohan had mixed up their bedrooms and slept in each other's rooms. Looking at a map, Jorge realizes that the positions of the three detectives murders match the exact shape of the Bermuda Triangle. Rohan explains what Stands are, their powers, and says that there is a local population of Stand users in Morioh. Jorge tries to mention Yoshikage Kira's name, but suddenly forgets it. Rohan has used Heaven's Door to prevent Jorge from saying Kira's name aloud or else Jorge would explode. Suddenly, the doorbell rings and Rohan asks Jorge if he can get his visitors to leave. He flees the room, asking Reimi to come with him. Jorge thus meets three high school students, who angrily confront Jorge assuming he did something to Rohan. Fukashigi Nijimura grabs Jorge's throat with his Stand, while his twin brother Muryotaisu Nijimura looks toward the house and starts yelling for Rohan. The third student, Koji Hirose observes Jorge's actions. Fukashigi says that Jorge could be Yoshikage Kira in disguise, but as soon as he pronounces the name, he disappears. Muryotaisu is furious but Jorge assures them of his innocence and promises to find Fukashigi.

Jorge deduces that Reimi is actually a Stand who can control the Arrow Cross House and has used her ability to hide Fukashigi. Accepting Jorge's request, Rohan uses Heaven's Door on Jorge to make him see Stands and he discovers the students' Stands. Jorge can also see Reimi and the two introduce themselves to each other. Jorge then asks Rohan to use Heaven's Door on Muryotaisu and Koji, allowing them to see "astral projections". Reimi's ability allowed her to keep Rohan and Fukashigi in a suspended state between life and death beneath the Arrow Cross House. As there is no oxygen in that area, Kira's ability cannot make them explode. Jorge realizes that each arrow on the house can rotate, explaining why Rohan did not notice anything happening after Tsukumojuku's murder. Suddenly, the land beneath Morioh somehow comes to life, detaches off of Japan and becomes its own island. Just then, Rohan also reveals that he had read Jorge's bio. All of Jorge's adventures as a detective were listed under a heading titled "Forgery". Behind Jorge's left ear, Rohan found his true story. He was born in 1889 in the Canary Islands, became a pilot, fought in World War II, and then was murdered in 1920 by an air force general.

Chapter 6: Island

Separated from Japan and protected by a strange barrier that can resist missiles, Morioh travels south. To solve the mystery, Rohan draws a map of Morioh for Jorge who pinpoints Budogaoka Academy at the center of the dome and a possible location to investigate. Reimi reveals that Kira has canceled the effect of Bites the Dust, so Fukashigi and Rohan are now safe and freed from Arrow Cross House's protection. Suspicious of the timing, Rohan wonders if Kira is the one who is moving Morioh. Reimi discovers a live stream of an emergency press conference held by Chomaru Bariya and twelve other detectives, who claim that the three detective murders were committed to frame Kira and they plead him to calm himself. Jorge discovers that Kira is a notorious criminal who escaped justice the first time by changing his face and fingerprints.

The group saves an SDF soldier, who warns them that the American army will flip the island if things continue as is. An emergency meeting is held at Budogaoka gymnasium and the group leaves, riding Muryotaisu's dolphin-pod-Stand Grand Blue. On their way, they see signs of mass hysteria with people having set themselves on fire and drawings of a moth man on their walls. At the gymnasium, the heroes see that everyone is being mind-controlled, but Koji destroys the closed gymnasium that was acting as a closed room, and frees everyone's minds. Rohan and Jorge wonder if anyone there could be Kira. They deduce that Kira must have had a link to the beauty parlor in which he switched his face. Beauty parlors rarely have male employees, but Aya had a man who helped with her secret business. According to a girl named Yamagishi, the man was middle-aged and not bad looking. The mayor of Morioh, Denta Shishimaru, thanks Jorge and the others for saving everyone. Jorge heads out of the gym and sees that Arrow Cross House is shaking from side to side, which is the SOS signal that they agreed upon.

Using Grand Blue, the heroes quickly fly back to Arrow Cross House. Reimi states that people from the harbor suddenly tried burning the house down but she's stuck them all under the house with her ability, and the house shaking was just a result of the battle. Exhausted, Jorge lays down on a rug in Rohan's study, but feels a strange lump under his back. He peels the rug back and finds a door in the floor. He opens it just to find that past the door is an exact replica of the study. He realizes that it isn't a room in the Arrow Cross House, but that it is actually Cube House, which Jorge discovers to be a habitable tesseract. The Stand follows a bizarre set of rules that defied logic and physics. Jorge suddenly hears a door that he had never opened slam shut and calls out but gets no answer. Jorge heads back up, and sees Nero Nero Island, the headquarters of a mafia group called the Passione Family. The island is headed for Morioh on a collision course.

Chapter 8: Nero Nero Island

While Jorge recalls all of the recent events and wonders how many Stand users are actually in Morioh, he warns Muryotaisu not to go back into Arrow Cross House for a while because he thought he saw someone suspicious hiding inside Cube House . Meanwhile, Muryotaisu takes out a telescope and a pair of binoculars from Arrow Cross House to observe Nero Nero Island, the headquarters of the Passione gang, whose Boss is named Diavolo. The heroes see a truck explode and its occupants murdered by suspicious figures with Stands. Passione members are slaughtering the people outside of the dome and the heroes cannot stop them. Meanwhile, Nero Nero Island has collided with Morioh. The island somehow grows giant insect-like legs which propels itself on top of Morioh's barrier.

The group prepares to use Cube House as a possible safe house, despite the danger it represents since it seems someone is hiding in there but also since the geometry of the place is dangerous. While Reimi learns that she can control the house, she's startled by Tsukumojuku Kato's brief appearance on a camera screen. Jorge leaves Rohan and Reimi behind and runs through Morioh's suburbs. Despite being shot at, Jorge manages to hide from all the bullets and reunites with Koji, and eventually manages to reunite with all of the three students. It seems like Passione is gathering up Stand users for a yet unknown purpose, using Morioh's mayor as a pawn. NYPD Blue theorizes that their head, Diavolo, is missing or possibly dead. The town's loudspeaker then broadcasts a message ordering detectives Daibakusho Curry, Runbaba 12, and Jorge Joestar to hurry to the Budogaoka Academy Garden. The other two detectives were also from Nishi Akatsuki like Jorge. Jorge decides to head to the garden and sees a young Italian man in a suit standing next to Morioh's mayor. Mayor Shishimaru tells them that the phone on the table in front of them will start ringing, confusing Jorge as the table only had a filthy rubber ball, a shoe, and a pebble. Suddenly, the pebble starts ringing and vibrating like a phone, and Jorge realizes that it is a Stand. Jorge accepts the call and a young man named Haruno Shiobana, also known as Giorno Giovanna, wants to hire him to seek Diavolo. Giorno presents the man in the suit as Bruno Bucciarati, whose team will be working with them.

After Giorno hangs up, Bucciarati warns Jorge not to lie since he can smell when someone is lying. Each of the detectives are paired with a Passione gangster and a "phone": Leone Abbacchio accompanies Daibakusho Curry, Guido Mista accompanies Runbaba, and Narancia Ghirga is assigned to Jorge. Jorge takes the pebble phone, Daibakusho Curry takes the rubber ball, and Runbaba takes the shoe. Suddenly, Jorge sees Tsukumojuku standing next to Narancia. Tsukumojuku tries grabbing Jorge's shoulder, but Narancia gets in his way. In that instant, the three of them are teleported far away. Tsukumojuku brushes off that he brought an anomaly along with him since it must mean something and then he vanishes, leaving Narancia and Jorge alone on the H.G. Wells spaceship headed to Mars.

Chapter 10: H.G. Wells

Aboard the H.G. Wells Spaceship, Jorge and Narancia are caught and tied to a bed by Captain Funnier Valentine and his team of astronauts: Enrico Pucci, Pocoloco Tripleseven and Goyathlay Soundman. They interrogate Jorge and Narancia and the crew is surprised to learn that they somehow appeared there from Morioh and Nero Nero Island. The astronauts report to Houston about Narancia and Jorge's sudden appearance, their discovery of Mars's third moon, and whether there may be any connection to the two islands moving back on Earth. Jorge looks out the window and notices that the third moon is strangely smooth. Narancia uses his Stand U-Boat to attack the crew. U-Boat is a flotilla of submarines that sink beneath the surface of the body and can fire torpedoes. However, Goyathlay Soundman summons Dune and Funnier summons his Stand Rear Window to fight. A brief battle ensues, but Jorge defuses the situation. Pucci summons his Stand Whitesnake to take Narancia's Stand and read both of Naranacia and Jorge's memories to confirm what he said, and also to trick Narancia into thinking that the crew members are his friends. The spaceship then collides with said moon, revealed to be a giant eyeball connected to a horned man.

President The Funniest Valentine appears on the loudspeaker and informs them that he is presently at the UN Headquarters in New York, attending an emergency meeting regarding the mysterious life form which they are calling The Eyed Balloon. The Funniest shows the astronauts seven images of The Eyed Balloon's interior, highlighting the Giotto probe floating in the back. The Giotto probe was launched into space in 1985, but somehow there are now seven Giotto probes which all have the same ID. Pucci wonders if this has something to do with the "fourteen words". The Funniest shows them another picture from a Nazi base in Switzerland and explains the fate of Kars, who is the horned man that they saw earlier. Jorge is surprised to learn that his adoptive great-grandfather, Joseph Joestar, is the man who defeated Kars. The Funniest then gives them an ultimatum to escape The Eyed Balloon's tentacles in ten minutes or they will detonate the H.G. Wells spaceship remotely to prevent Kars from returning to Earth.

While Narancia, Soundman and Pocoloco try to think of a way of dealing with the eyeball, Funnier tells Jorge about Pucci's goal of reaching heaven. When Pucci was seventeen, he had a habit of sleepwalking out of the house. His family moved to Cape Canaveral since it was easier to keep an eye on him there with the air force base, but Pucci still slips out one night and awakes at the church his father worked at. When he rushed back home, he found he no longer had a home, as it was crushed by a falling meteor. It wasn't a rock which killed his family, but rather a metal plate from the Giotto probe. Besides the ID, fourteen phrases written in Italian and English were scratched onto the metal plate along with an excerpt of how to reach heaven. Funnier suddenly assassinates Pocoloco with his Stand's gun and shoots both Narancia and Pucci while accusing Pucci of being a sinner. Funnier reveals that he has been negotiating with Kars for eleven years ever since he read the message on the metal plate that fell on Pucci's house. Funnier takes out Jorge non-lethally and also kills Soundman. However, Narancia reveals that U-Boat's metal plate had protected him and he manages to kill Funnier.

The giant U-Boat rams into the side of the H.G. Wells due to The Eyed Balloon's tentacles. Narancia and Jorge jump into the hole of the submarine and Narancia immediately pilots it away. The H.G. Wells spaceship explodes, but they are confronted by Kars who entered their submarine as well. Kars declares that he can finally go back home but with the three of them there, the oxygen in the submarine would only last four hours. Kars decides to build his own spaceship using The Eyed Balloon and the Giotto probes, revealing that the eyeball is in fact 36 Kars, each holding a Giotto probe within the sphere. The universe had already looped 36 times, with each iteration bringing his own defeated Kars, and a Giotto probe. The 36 Kars also melt themselves to serve as fuel. Kars reveals that he's failed twice to go back to Earth, but has calculated that he could return at the 37th iteration of the universe with enough materials, and that he had negotiated with Funnier Valentine for his eventual reentry. Kars declares his intention to eat Narancia and Jorge as a celebratory feast, since their lives will only last four hours due to the lack of oxygen, and Jorge also notices that Pucci is there with them, having survived Funnier's attack. Meanwhile, the pebble phone starts ringing and Narancia is able to speak with Bucciarati again. Jorge and Bucciarati still don't trust each other, but Jorge tells him about the Passione traitors. As Bucciarati hangs up, Kars learns that Jorge is a Joestar.

George starts hearing rumors from pilots who have seen strange things like gremlins on their flights, and blamed those creatures on any airborne mechanical failures they had. They are small, skinny, and have no eyes, reminding George of how Faraday described the Spanish child he saw. George's friend, Jim Graham, also sees one clinging to his plane, Simone. The gremlin takes off a few screws and messes with the plane's engine. Before Jim crashes, he manages to land back at the base safely, assuming the gremlin had dropped off somewhere. Jim starts carrying a pistol with him whenever he would go flying, but never sees the gremlin again. George starts taking a camera with him into his cockpit so he can take a picture and then verify with Faraday later. Before that, George takes a photo of a mysterious plane's silhouette, which he later realizes is Steven Motorize's Motorizing plane. George had only seen the schematics for it when they were younger, before it was actually built. George wonders what Steven is doing in England since he was apparently in France. George had asked his French pilot friends about Steven, but nobody there had heard of him. Curious, George decides to go visit the Motorize home for the first time in five years.

Ben Motorize lost his desire for business after the case with Kenton became impossible to prosecute further. He retired to Miami and Darlington became the official heir of the business. George interrogates Darlington about Steven's plane and she's surprised to learn that George had become confident. She hesitates for a long while and then deflects the topic, asking if George thinks it's possible for the dead to come back to life. George knew it was somewhat possible by becoming a zombie, but lies and says it isn't. Darlington agrees with him but says that there are cultural and religious precedents of resurrection which several people believe. Betting on that possibility, Steven and Ben began researching ways to bring back the dead. Eventually, they found a folk religion called Vodou where a sorcerer called a Bokor could turn the dead into zombies. She brings up the Aztecs and then suddenly asks George if he knows about the Stone Mask, catching him off guard. She explains everything they learned about his family in more detail than George himself knew, including how Jonathan Joestar studied the Stone Mask, how Dio Brando became a vampire, and the events surrounding George Joestar I's death. They also learned of the incident in Windknight's Lot, where Dio Brando wiped out the town and created several zombies. Steven and Ben found two survivors from that town, Poco and his sister. Although they were sworn to secrecy, Poco's sister ends up revealing the truth after the Motorizes show them a photo of Dio. They learned about the ship Erina and Jonathan went on for their honeymoon and found records from the port which listed a suspicious piece of cargo. They discover that it was Dio's coffin from one of the dock workers, and another mentions that he heard a voice coming from it. Finally, the Motorizes traveled to La Palma. They learned of the Mothman, the Torres family incident, and how Lisa Lisa defeated Alejandro. Darlington teases George for being in love with Lisa Lisa, ultimately understanding why George never showed interest in herself or other girls.

Getting back on topic, Darlington pleads for George's help because Steven and Ben have gone too far in their desperate attempts to bring back Kenton. Steven had contacted Darlington earlier that day to tell her that he found Lisa Lisa's group of Ripple warriors. George says he'll contact Lisa Lisa and assures Darlington that her group is composed of trustworthy people who would help Ben and Steven change their minds. Darlington cries and thanks George. He considers hugging her but decides it would be best not to. Just then, William Cardinal arrives at the door and Darlington introduces him to George as her fiancé. George becomes jealous after seeing that Cardinal is rather handsome with an impressive build compared to his own. The two have an awkward handshake after George congratulates them on their engagement and then they say nothing to each other. Darlington invites George to their wedding but George declines thinking he wouldn't feel welcome there because of his history with the Motorize family, and Cardinal confirms by saying George is correct. Cardinal tells George to never visit their home again, as he tends to be a bad influence there. George and Darlington say goodbye to each other, but George notices how weak and depressed Darlington appeared as soon as Cardinal arrived.

George manages to get in touch with Lisa Lisa and informs her about the Motorize family situation. Lisa Lisa convinces him that the Motorize men are being watched so everything will be fine, and Steven having his own airplane design will come in handy for the upcoming war. Shortly after that, George joins the Royal Naval Air Service. Several countries got involved in the war and George would have to fight as well. George is initially partnered with a navigator named Frank Dimarest, but the man keeps blaming George that it is George's fault he was out there risking his life. As soon as they land, George punches him and fires him, although Frank is grateful for that. George piles bombs in Frank's empty seat and uses them to bombard enemy ships from the air. George prefers that strategy than fighting them head on which would cause lots of casualties, but Jim disagrees with him, believing they should follow their orders. The two end up having a big fight.

One day while flying his Star Shooter, George's plane is suddenly shot from the side. George wonders if Jim suddenly snapped and betrayed him, but then looks to his right to see an enemy German Albatros fighter plane headed towards him. They shoot again, breaking Jim's Simone in half with several machine gun bullets. Jim falls toward the ocean but George manages to catch him in his plane. Unfortunately, Jim's navigator, Peter Fraser, falls to his death. Jim throws a bomb toward the Albatros from the back seat of George's plane, and then George shoots the bomb with his pistol, causing a massive explosion. Two more Albatros planes come after them, and Jim throws another bomb preparing to shoot it with his own pistol. However, the two Albatros planes shoot straight into the bomb and blow themselves up instead. Jim and George laugh at how lucky they were, but their fuel suddenly runs out and they are forced to make an emergency landing. A gremlin reveals himself between the plane's propeller blades, with petrol running down his chin like drool after sucking the fuel all out of the plane. He announces that he'll kill George and his family and does a shrill laugh. George manages to take a photograph of it, but the gremlin then dives into Jim's mouth. Just then, Jim starts convulsing and groaning. He shoves his hands deep into his mouth, pulling out his tongue, flesh, parts of his ribs, and his internal organs. Disgusted at the horrific scene he just witnessed, George cries and vomits all over the plane's cockpit. George considers whether he should just fall to his death along with Jim but then his mind instantly clears and he becomes determined to survive. Jim slowly asks George to help him while continuing to pull out his organs. George manages to ignore Jim, hoping to be able to help him after they land. He lands the plane successfully on the water, but Jim had already died. Alone while drifting in the sea, George thinks of Erina's experience, but then decides there's no point comparing their experiences. He becomes confident that he would survive and waits for Lisa Lisa to come get him.

George falls asleep and he eventually wakes up from the sound of an airplane engine. Lisa Lisa arrived with Steven and his Motorizing plane. She leaps down, running across the water to ask if George is okay. George and Steven awkwardly gaze at each other. George couldn't decide whether he was angry for being framed for Kenton's murder or if he was happy to see Steven again. Lisa Lisa hugs George, explaining that the Ripple master Tonpetty predicted George would crash in the morning and told her the location of where he would be stranded in the North Sea. Steven was the only pilot nearby who could fly her there so they rushed to find him. George suddenly becomes jealous of the thought of Lisa Lisa and Steven getting close, but Lisa Lisa reassures him with a kiss on the cheek. Steven breaks the silence between him and George, explaining that he had tried finding Kenton's real murderer to prove that George was innocent. However, Steven became a suspect three years later. Ben had Steven flee to France, worried that they would force a guilty verdict on Steven so that the military could do experiments on him due to his Wound. He asserts that he did not kill Kenton, and that it was a Spanish midget with no eyes who actually did. Kenton had told Steven about the monster for months before her murder. He would appear whenever she flew in the dark or when it was raining and then do things to her plane. They didn't take it too seriously since they were used to weird things happening like Steven's wings. One day, Kenton heard the monster say "Horhe Joestar". She didn't know much Spanish but could tell the monster was insulting George and couldn't stand for it. After she yelled at the monster, it threatened to kill her. She planned to tell George and then was called to the cliffs by someone using George's name, and then she was murdered. George questions Steven about his plans to bring Kenton back to life, but Steven confirms that he changed his mind after Lisa Lisa showed him a real zombie.

The trio climb into the Motorizing and head to France, leaving the Star Shooter behind. Steven flies the plane, while George sits behind him with Lisa Lisa on his lap. Although the two are embarrassed, they start talking to distract themselves. George tells them about the rumors of the gremlins and how Faraday had seen one in 1905, just before Kenton was murdered. Lisa Lisa realizes that it must have followed George from the Canary Islands. They finally reach France and the Ripple masters take the trio to their secret underground lair. George meets Tonpetty for the first time. Tonpetty reveals that George had entered his dreams several times and that it is an honor to meet Jonathan Joestar's son in person. He claims that George has inherited Jonathan's courage, although George denies it. Tonpetty continues encouraging him and George attempts to be respectful, saying he'll do his best. He borrows a phone from them and contacts the English Naval Air Service. On the other end, William Cardinal answers, revealing that he is now the officer in charge of George's unit in the RNAS. He angrily yells at George asking where he is and why he abandoned his injured companion, Jim, then ran off on his own. He insults George for playing dumb, who is confused about Jim seemingly being alive. Thinking George is mocking him, Cardinal hands the phone over to Jim, who promises to testify that George is a spy and the he'll kill George the next time he sees him. While George is still confused, Lisa Lisa shows George the photograph he took of the gremlin, explaining that it's his old childhood bully, Antonio Torres.

Lisa Lisa realizes that Antonio's discarded skin had lived on as a zombie. Since fifteen years have passed, she calculates that there must be 16,384 (2¹⁴) clones of Antonio by now if all of them constantly cloned themselves every year. They also determine that not all of the gremlins that pilots have reported seeing were Antonio, since their descriptions didn't fully match up. Some descriptions of gremlins were short whereas others had different features. They were making up stories based on their fear and then their planes would get damaged just like they imagined, like how Lisa Lisa previously imagined the Gorilla Spider in Rome's temple. They recall how the Mothman incident was a similar occurrence of mass hysteria. Remembering those horrifying drawings and the blood from the burning bodies, as well as the realization that scared pilots will be attacked by an eyeless Antonio Torres from now on, George faints.

Kars is disappointed to learn that Jorge's adoptive grandfather, Joseph Joestar, died from cancer two years ago. Kars confesses that he's always dreamed of placing a Stone Mask on Joseph, turning him into a vampire, having him eat other humans, and then finally eating him himself. He explains the function of the Stone Mask and states that tweaking the brains of humans can make them do almost anything. After mocking Jorge for being short compared to Joseph, Kars demonstrates his earlier statement by slipping his fingers into Jorge's brain, causing Jorge's body to contort until he grows twenty centimeters taller. Kars affirms that humans are fascinating and he enjoys their imaginations and creativity. In contrast, his own race lacked ambition, living a life of stagnation. Kars ended up researching, created the Stone Mask, annihilated his own race, and conquered the sun. Jorge wonders how he could deal with an immortal life form like Kars, knowing he can't let a predator like him arrive at Earth.

Just then, Jorge hears a sonar ping from inside his body and realizes that Narancia has put U-Boat inside him. Narancia had also put one submarine inside Kars. However, Kars feels something inside himself and pulls it out. He analyzes it by dismantling the whole submarine and examining the individual parts. Noticing the computers in the control room of the submarine had some sort of visual data, Kars plugs the computer's cord into the palm of his hand and opens his mouth. A beam of light shines from his mouth and projects the information from his palm onto the wall across from him. Every image that displays on the wall are naked images of Trish Cicciolina from Narancia's memories. Trish Cicciolina was an adult entertainer who later became a member of the Italian Parliament, and she is even famous in Japan. Narancia embarrassingly begs Kars to stop displaying them. Kars asks if human bodies are now capable of making machines, but Narancia goes berserk from his embarrassment and Jorge worries that Kars will kill him. Thus, Jorge answers Kars by saying that it's not a machine, but a Stand. He explains what Stands are and Kars wonders whether he could use one too since he can see and touch them. Jorge assumes it's because Kars is the Ultimate Thing. Kars puts his hand to his chest and a submarine with a different design from Narancia's U-Boat surfaces from within him. Both Jorge and Narancia are speechless at Kars's spontaneous development of a Stand, realizing the hopeless situation they're in now.

Experimenting with his new Stand, Kars generates an extremely loud sonar sound from within Jorge and Pucci's bodies. Kars discovers that Pucci has a Stand as well and drags Whitesnake out of Pucci's back. Pucci has Whitesnake punch Kars, but rather than one or two DISCs emerging, a whole flood of DISCs spill out of Kars's head. Understanding how Whitesnake works, Kars develops his own version, Whitesnake Ultimate. Kars's version has three heads and six arms like a statue of an Asura. Whitesnake Ultimate pulls out Pucci's Stand and memory DISCs. As Kars wonders how Pucci got his Stand, he reveals that he made a Bow and Arrow long ago which in theory could develop special abilities in people, but he had barely used it. He then watches Pucci's memories and sees that the priest got his Stand from the Devil's Palm, a holy spot in America that moves itself from place to place and those that wander into it would either unleash their Stand or die. Kars is disappointed at how dull human memories are and slams the DISC back into Pucci's head. However, he reveals that thanks to Pucci's memories, their six month trip back to Earth will only take four hours. Kars projects an image from Pucci's memories showing a vampire in the sky at the time Pucci's house was destroyed. Kars wasn't the one who threw the metal plate that killed Pucci's family, but instead this vampire did. Wondering what this vampire is plotting, Kars also checks through Jorge's memories. Jorge asks Kars if Kars could heal his body, impressing Kars that the boy could still think and talk despite his memory DISC being taken.

As Kars heals Jorge and restores his original height, Jorge asks him if he could return his DISC as well, but Kars insists on keeping it after seeing a photo of the vampire, Dio Brando, in Jorge's memories. Kars projects Jorge's memories on the wall, including a photo of a middle-aged George Joestar and a childhood memory of Joseph narrating Jonathan's attempt to stop Dio from robbing a train. He deduces that the George from the photo could not be the same one from Tsukumojuku's world, rather another George Joestar from the previous universes. Kars also mentions that vampires do not have wings, and that, in Pucci's memory, Dio Brando floating in the sky could have been a caused by a Stand power.

Jorge calls Giorno, who informs him that there is an expected bombing on Nero Nero Island and Morioh after an American scout plane had crashed on Morioh, resulting with the residents clashing with the Navy. Meanwhile, reports have been going around that terrorists had invaded the islands to easily spread a weaponized virus that causes people to become berserk around the world. After Jorge hands the phone to Narancia, he approaches Kars and asks him if he could borrow Kars's Stand powers. Unable to handle the power, Jorge's body bloodily explodes after shoving the DISCs into his head, though Kars reassembles his flesh again immediately after. After a brief banter, Kars prepares a powered-down copy of his U-Boat for Jorge to use, and the group heads back to Earth.

At Earth's orbit, Pucci informs the deaths of Funnier, Sandman, and Pocoloco to the communications officer over the radio. While Kars expresses at how vast the Earth's oceans are, Jorge calls Giorno to commence their attack on the islands and disable the military weaponries. After Narancia and Jorge send waves of missiles to the ships, the spaceship descends to Earth. At the same time, Bucciarati calls Jorge to tell him that the bodies of Yoshikage Kira and Diavolo have been found, and as Pucci stares at the islands and Arrow Cross House out the window, he points out the "rhinoceros beetles" and the "Via Dolorosa", two of the fourteen words carved on the Giotto plate.

The impact of the spaceship's landing shakes Nero Nero Island off of Morioh as the latter also flips upside down. Suddenly, an island nine hundred times larger than Morioh rises from underneath, to which Jorge recognizes as the mythical country of England. As he remembers his first arrival to Morioh, Jorge realizes that the reason why the map of Morioh felt familiar to him at the time was because he was subconsciously recalling Tsukumojuku's map of England, only it had been drawn backwards.

George and Lisa Lisa theorize about Antonio Torres and how he could operate in daylight by hiding inside human bodies like Jim Graham's. They worry about his capability of quickly creating zombies all over the world. Straizo asks how they can fight zombies inside fighter planes, but Lisa Lisa assures him that George will shoot all the zombies down. Just then, a Ripple warrior informs them that English zombies are attacking their base. Steven leads George and Lisa Lisa to two of his Motorizing planes. They get into one and Steven hops into the other. As they fly out of the cave, they notice at least a dozen English Air Force planes flying above them, dropping bombs onto the base. George and Steven engage in aerial warfare with the zombies, shooting them all down with their plane's machine guns. George feels bittersweet over shooting the zombies as they were his old friends, but he is glad to avenge them by killing each Antonio. As Lisa Lisa praises George's skills, another Antonio appears, angry that George grew up into an adult before he did. Lisa Lisa suddenly declares that she and George should get married after this war, before grabbing Antonio and turning him into dust.

After killing over twenty-three zombies, George realizes that the battle is feeling too easy so it must be a diversion for something else. Worried about his mother's safety, George calls Erina at work and tells her to go back home and hide with Penelope. Erina also informs him that she just saw several English planes fly off. George calls his friend John Moore-Brabazon afterwards, who is now working as an engineer in the city after he quit flying planes. George explains to John that the men in the planes are actually zombies of their former comrades. At first, John is at disbelief but he quickly believes George is telling the truth and mourns the loss of his friends. The zombies flying the English planes suddenly start attacking London causing John to panic. However, George motivates him to fight and gather as many men as he can.

As they fly toward London, Lisa Lisa asks George for a quick rundown on how to fly planes. About an hour later, she gets the hang of it and pushes the flight stick to have their plane be directly in front of Steven's. She then jumps out of the cockpit and lands onto Steven's plane. She taps Steven's shoulder and uses the Ripple to extract his wings out of his back, as she thought it would be useful for him. Lisa Lisa then heads back to George's plane as the war continues. They promise each other that they'll both live and get married. A Frenchman named Vincent Lecoeur starts attacking George and makes a direct hit with his plane's wing. Before George's plane could crash, Steven flies under him and motions for George to jump down. After George thanks Steven for saving him, the two admire Lisa Lisa's fighting skills, as she jumps from plane to plane frying each zombie pilot with her powers. Motivated by her strength, Steven flies out with his wings, grabs Vincent Lecoeur out of the zombie's plane and then drops him into the air. George is confronted by Jim, now a zombie, and decapitates his old friend with his plane's wingtip. Finally, Lisa Lisa destroys the last zombie in the sky and jumps into George's plane, hugging him. Meanwhile, the zombies who were shot to the ground are all destroyed by the Ripple warriors. George sees ten more English planes approaching from the North, flashing their lights in Morse Code to prove they aren't enemies. It was John Moore-Brabazon, who followed George's advice and gathered a group of men. They controlled the perimeter, keeping the zombies trapped in London. George introduces John and Steven to each other, mentioning that John has political connections now and may be able to help Steven be pardoned from being a suspect since he helped save London.

The Ripple warriors begin investigating England and institute a national health exam to make sure there are no zombies hiding inside citizens. Steven goes back home, Lisa Lisa travels with the Ripple warriors, and George continues fighting in the World War. William Cardinal survives Antonio's attack on the Naval Air Force base with only a broken leg. He tells everyone that he was the one who ordered George to fight in London, and then everyone treats Cardinal as more of a hero than George. Cardinal gets promoted to become the supreme commander, and never has to go on any dangerous missions but still acts like a big shot. When the war finally concludes, George heads back home to the Joestar Mansion. George starts worrying about what Lisa Lisa thinks of him because the two hadn't seen each other or even contacted each other in three years. He realizes that they were only together for two weeks in the last seventeen years, but it felt like they spent a lot more time together. Determined to revitalize his relationship, George heads to Switzerland after Erina tells him where Lisa Lisa currently was.

As soon as George finds Lisa Lisa, he asks why Lisa Lisa wanted to marry him if she doesn't love him. He becomes speechless after realizing what he said sounded like an immature toddler, but Lisa Lisa just laughs and assures him of her genuine love for him. Lisa Lisa apologizes about not going to see George, but reveals that she became worried after Tonpetty prophesied that George would die around the time they get married. She starts crying but George promises that he won't die and leave her alone. George becomes enraged at Tonpetty, but his anger dissipates after feeling the Ripple master's aura. After speaking with Tonpetty, George begins to accept his fate. However, Tonpetty suddenly looks puzzled, claiming that there is a god looking out for George and if George believes in this power, then he won't die. On the other hand, if he can't put his faith in it, he'll be brutally murdered by something terrifying. George realizes that he must believe in Beyond, which Tsukumojuku had told him about.

George and Lisa Lisa head back home and announce their engagement, while also planning for their wedding. George is relieved to see how happy Penelope is since she and Lisa Lisa disliked each other when they were younger. Penelope insists that if it was anyone else she would be jealous, but she's glad that George is marrying Lisa Lisa. After hearing that Lisa Lisa is pregnant, Erina, Penelope, and Speedwagon, are extremely happy. She decides not to tell Straizo just yet until things have settled down. Speedwagon starts sending them numerous baby gifts for both genders until the baby is born. They name their son Joseph Joestar and even as a baby, the boy inherited Lisa Lisa's Ripple talents. George would get shocked every time he tried holding him or changing his diaper, so Lisa Lisa gave him a scarf made of the Satiporoja beetle's thread. They set their wedding date at the end of the year so that Joseph would be big enough. John campaigns to be George's best man, but it's a tough choice for George, who ends up choosing Steven instead.

On the day of their wedding, November 11, 1920, John notices that Steven hasn't arrived yet and offers to be the best man in his place. George decides to quickly sneak out to the Motorize manor but tells Penelope, the maid of honor, beforehand. She asks why not anyone else go instead, but George feels that it would be easier to go there himself. Cardinal had taken over the family affairs and while working in politics, John constantly quarreled with Cardinal. George assumes that Cardinal did something to Steven since Steven didn't get along with his brother-in-law either. George arrives at their house and rings the doorbell, but nobody answers. The door was left unlocked, so George enters and gets an unsettling feeling. Their house is seemingly empty, but George hears groaning coming from deeper in the manor. He grabs a fireplace poker and heads upstairs. In the hallway, he sees Kenton Motorize in pajamas with her head covered in blood. She had become a zombie and lunges toward George. George has no choice but to stab the poker through her head and says goodbye to his old friend. Just then, Cardinal points his gun at the back of George's head. George manages to use the poker to knock the gun away, cutting Cardinal's hand in the process. However, both George and Cardinal realize that Cardinal's hand isn't bleeding so he had actually become a zombie already. Antonio reveals himself, hiding inside Cardinal's body and eating his organs. George passes down the hallway and sees that Steven, Ben, and Darlington were also murdered and turned into zombies.

Antonio describes how he's only following his boss's orders but enjoys torturing George nonetheless. George looks out the window and sees a flock of 920,000 Antonios gliding outside like flying squirrels. They surrounded all of England, planning to have their boss take over the country. Antonio gets the upper hand in the fight and George nearly passes out after a punch that sends him flying, slamming his head onto a wall. Antonio hits George's head several times with the blunt side of the poker, disappointed in George for being weak and then mocks his genitals. He pulls George's pants down, starts attacking George below his back, and then vomits after seeing his crotch. George manages to summon Tsukumojuku's spirit one last time by believing in his Beyond, and Antonio is shocked to see him still appearing young. Tsukumojuku teleports George to 2012 in Morioh, leaving Antonio and the zombies. Lisa Lisa and Penelope arrive at the Motorize residence and cry, assuming that George had died due to the shredded pieces of his uniform on the ground. Lisa Lisa tearfully kills Antonio and the body of Cardinal he was possessing. Furious at George's supposed death, Penelope accidentally creates a locked room made from the 920,000 flying squirrel Antonios and torn up bits of them. The giant locked room surrounds the whole world, swallowing everything up.

The spaceship of Kars smashes into the Arrow Cross House as Jorge assumes that they all are about to die. However, Kars saves them by transforming his body into a sphere. As they step outside, Jorge realizes that they are in an unfamiliar landscape rather than Morioh. Kars returns to his humanoid form, albeit in a damaged state. The extra Kars that were covering the spaceship burned up just above the surface of Earth. Kars thinks that they were short of one extra version of him for a proper landing but Pucci states that 36 should have been enough, believing the number to have holy significance. Jorge theorizes about the fourteen words and how they relate to the current events. The moving Morioh and Nero Nero Island are 'Rhinoceros Beetles', the way they fell onto Arrow Cross House is 'Via Dolorosa', Giotto is the probes that Kars made his spaceship out of, and the Earth itself is 'Hydrangea'. Narancia asks Kars why he saved them, but the Pillar Man doesn't respond, focused on healing himself. Narancia tells Jorge that they should consider running away now while they have the chance, but then discovers that they aren't in Morioh. He sends out a few hundred tiny U-Boats onto the grass, having them scout in all directions. Jorge remembers that he was still borrowing a version of U-Boat from Kars and does the same thing.

They find a sign displaying "Wastewood" as well as a newspaper dated November 11, 1920. Jorge wonders how they ended up 92 years ago and why the place looks abandoned, as they couldn't find any citizens. Narancia jokingly congratulates Jorge after he discovers a wedding venue for "Jorge Joestar" and Elizabeth Straizo. Jorge realizes that it must be the other Jorge who Tsukumojuku told him about. Jorge tells Narancia that they should check out the other Jorge's home but Pucci says that they should go to the capital, London, as something waits for them in 'Desolation Row'. However, Narancia then sees three zombie men fighting to eat a little girl. Narancia kills the three men but the girl becomes a zombie herself. Jorge, Narancia, and Pucci fight off the zombies with their Stands. Riding a large U-Boat, they decide to flee to the Joestar mansion and take Kars with them. They are greeted by a clown once they arrive, which imprisons Jorge in a locked room. The clown declares that if he isn't Penelope's friend, then he'll have to hang himself. Remembering his discussion with Tsukumojuku, Jorge yells out that he isn't the Locked Room Master and that Javier Cortes is already dead. From his words, the clown explodes along with the walls surrounding Jorge. Penelope runs outside but is perplexed to see the young Asian boy rather than the adult George she was expecting.

After Narancia starts yelling in Italian, Penelope tells them that she doesn't know what's going on with the island and asks them to leave but Erina arrives to greet her guests. As Jorge talks to Erina, three zombies appear behind them but Penelope entraps them with her Wound. Jorge wonders how Erina could tell that he was Japanese, so Erina reveals that she's been running a trading company for some time and Jorge's soft smile that's particular to Japanese culture reminded her of Japanese people that she had done business with. Jorge explains about Tsukumojuku and how quite a lot had happened. After Jorge mentions that they're going to London to find the 'Way to Heaven', Penelope asks to come with them. Erina has doubts but Penelope convinces Erina to let her go, believing the whole mess to be her fault since she made Great Britain into a giant locked room. Penelope promises to bring back Elizabeth with her and the two hug. She also apologizes that Erina will have to take care of Joseph on her own now. Hearing the name of his adoptive grandfather, Jorge asks to see the baby Joseph, despite Jorge's grandfather being the son of Jodoh Joestar and Maria Urias Zeppeli. Suddenly, Kars appears beside Jorge, interested in seeing his archenemy as a baby. Erina and Penelope protectively jump in between Kars and Joseph, but Kars declares that he has no intention of harming the baby because history may be altered.

Penelope heads back with Jorge to U-Boat and Narancia cackles about how Jorge could pick up a girl in the situation that they're in. Penelope introduces herself to Kars and Pucci and then explains everything that happened so far in England, as well as her abilities. They calculate how many copies of Antonio Torres there were, learning that around 920,000 Antonios created the giant wall that Penelope made. After talking with Jorge, Pucci is happy to learn that all they need now is one more 'Rhinoceros Beetle', a 'Spiral Staircase', two 'Singularities', and the 'Secret Emperor'. He reveals that the 'Fig Tart' was the sweet scent made from Kars's body burning during their reentry to Earth.

Meanwhile, Bucciarati calls them on the pebble phone and Jorge relays the situation they're in. Bucciarati explains that Reimi fixed the holes in Arrow Cross House after the spaceship crashed through it. There are only minor injuries on either side of the war with the American army, and the latter is starting to surrender since nobody could contact headquarters or leave the island. After the spaceship crashed, Morioh's barrier came back up but the island's power went out. Only Arrow Cross House still has light, water, and gas. Bucciarati also reveals that they found the dead bodies of Diavolo and Yoshikage Kira in the study of the Arrow Cross House, where they had somehow been lying for at least twelve hours, despite Jorge and Rohan Kishibe having been in and out of that room all day. He shares footage from Leone Abbacchio's Stand Videodrome, depicting a holographic display of Diavolo and Kira's sudden deaths with their throats being slit. Videodrome records everything that happens to someone for 24 hours after midnight and cuts off at the moment of their death, meaning that there are no records of Diavolo and Kira from midnight until 8 am. They just suddenly appeared in Arrow Cross House at 8 am, where they were killed in approximately one second, and nobody noticed their bodies. Kira was calling himself Kosaku Kawajiri and worked in manufacturing. As the investigation on Kira grew closer, he brutally murdered both his wife and child. Diavolo had also killed far more than a hundred people, including victims from enemy crime syndicates, civilians, politicians, law enforcement, and his own men. Bucciarati states that Jorge shouldn't bother trying to deduce how they died since the world is better off with villains like them dead. With Heaven's Door, they also learned how Kira and Diavolo had time manipulating Stands. Jorge realizes that Cube House must be a device to bypass spacetime, and Tsukumojuku had learned how to use it. Cube House takes the person falling and sends them to help someone in the world who they would be most useful to, including other universes. It seems to obey voluntary commands allowing people to think of where they want to travel to, but it prioritizes the will of someone who needs their help.

The group arrives at London, where Pucci is greeted by a young Funny Valentine. Funny reveals that Manhattan Island is the final 'Rhinoceros Beetle'. With Funny's help, Pucci learns that the two 'Singularities' is his connection with himself. Pucci knows Funny Valentine well in his own universe, but not this version of Funny from another universe, thus creating a 'Spiral Staircase'. Finally, Funny introduces them to the 'Secret Emperor', Dio Brando. Seeing holes in Dio's hands and feet, Pucci weeps for his lord as arrows appear all over Whitesnake's body. Pucci levitates and becomes the center of gravity, unleashing his new Stand C-MOON. However, C-MOON's body then cracks and Made in Heaven emerges from it. Just before Pucci could activate Made in Heaven, Dio holds up his hand. The giant wall surrounding Great Britain formed the upside-down upper half of a giant version of Antonio Torres. The giant Antonio looks down at them and grabs Pucci, swallowing him to send him outside of the barrier. Pucci then activates Made in Heaven within Antonio's belly, speeding up time outside England. The universe loops 36 times, bringing the island of Great Britain to 2012 in the 37th universe. Jorge wonders if their six month journey from Mars back to Earth only took four hours because of Pucci, but Kars reveals that the priest had a complicated flow of time compressed within him. At the same time he was on the spaceship with them, he was also in another universe killing someone.

George wakes up, lying on a bed with his injuries and fractures healed. The Italian man sitting next to him greets George, with George confused as to how he could suddenly understand and speak Italian. Vinegar Doppio introduces himself and reveals that Rohan made it so everyone in the house could speak English, Italian, and Japanese. Doppio grabs a book lying on the side table named Pink Dark Boy: Part 8. Volume 112. He transforms it into a phone using his Stand and calls Giorno to inform him that George has woken up. Doppio also reports that George is feeling a lot of pain and struggling to get up, before telling George that he'll get over it if he keeps moving. When George says he can't move any further, Doppio suddenly becomes infuriated and threatens George by showing the gun in his pants. His eyelids violently twitching, Doppio reveals he's a gangster, but George rebukes him with no fear. George snatches Doppio's gun from him and threatens the gangster back. Doppio then picks up the manga volume again and George suddenly feels an intense vibration and ringtone reverberating within his brain. George confidently points the gun to his own head and precisely shoots off a two centimeter portion of his skull that had been converted into a phone. George then turns the gun toward Doppio and doesn't hesitate to fire. However, none of the bullets hit and instead ended up in the wall behind Doppio.

Another gangster named Guido Mista had arrived, telling the two of them to knock it off. Doppio starts arguing toward Mista so Mista decides to shoot him instead. George sees miniature entities wearing gym uniforms riding the bullets. Each of them kicked their bullet aside to merely scrape Doppio's cheeks, giving him cat-like whiskers. Mista and his Stand, The Iron Ladies, cackle at Doppio's new appearance. As George is confused as to what he just witnessed, Giorno arrives, apologizing for the manners of his men. He introduces himself to George and explains what Stands are, revealing that Rohan also made it so George could see Stands. Giorno and Rohan explain how they learned George's history by reading everything about him, and decided that he is the best man to solve the mystery of Diavolo and Kira's deaths. They also reveal to him that Tsukumojuku had died there and another Jorge Joestar was in charge of that case. George is informed of Jorge's adventures and what the current situation is like now in London. Although George desires to go back home, Giorno has no intention of letting anyone leave Arrow Cross House until the mystery is solved.

George asks Doppio to call England with his phone, but he is suddenly no longer able to despite it working a few minutes ago. Doppio turns a light bulb by the bed into a phone and is capable of reaching Passione's offices in Rome, San Diego, and Tijuana, so he thinks the problem must be on Narancia's end. Meanwhile, Pannacotta Fugo points out that outside of the house, the sky of Morioh looks like the night sky even though it isn't night yet. There are no clouds, stars, or the moon. Instead, they all see a giant white whale swimming in the sky along with other giant fishes. Mista realizes that Morioh must be floating upside down in water. Desperate to get back to Lisa Lisa, George starts believing in his Beyond. He realizes that believing in Beyond means that there is an author writing a story with him as the main character, but in order to get back to Lisa Lisa, then he would have to create the 'narrative flow' of the story by first solving the murder of Diavolo. NYPD Blue explains the situation. Rohan's Heaven's Door had tried turning the two bodies into books, but the pages were filled with the word "death" in different languages. He then tried using Heaven's Door on the holographic recordings of Videodrome, but only their names and information about their Stands were written on the pages. Abbacchio describes that the estimated time of death for both of them was twelve hours ago, at eight AM. Abbacchio replays the recordings so that George could notice any suspicious details. Fukashigi tries pulling NYPD Blue out of the way, but his Stand refuses, not wanting to leave a murder investigation to amateurs. George notices that Kira's face was covered in sweat, but the sweat would dry up the instant it hit his shirt. The rest of his body should have been soaked as well, but his shirt wasn't even damp. After George points out the clue, Abbacchio and NYPD Blue also touch Kira's chest on Videodrome's recording so they can see for themselves. George moves on to checking Diavolo's chest, where he notices the same situation occurring. Mista mentions that they are all acting like freaks and then cackles along with Fugo.

After Rohan mentions how he had a clock in his study but someone had stolen it, George deduces that there must have been a reason for the clock being stolen, with "time" being the key word. He realizes that time must have been sped up, even though their bodies were moving normally. George theorizes about how King Crimson and Bites the Dust could cause time to flow differently and how humans have an internal sense of time which could be a little off without any Stands involved. George asks Rohan for a thermometer so that they could do autopsies. Abbacchio and NYPD Blue are reluctant to take rectal temperatures until George convinces them to by saying they shouldn't let an amateur handle it. Grossing Abbacchio out, Rohan describes how he used the thermometer on various wild animals such as birds, cats, and a boar, but he assures that the thermometer is well sterilized. The two officers take the temperatures and then examine the inside of Kira and Diavolo's mouths and eyes. Abbacchio asks if George figured out anything but George ignores him. Abbacchio throws the thermometer at George but the latter dodges and the thermometer shatters, angering Rohan. George calculates that the killer would have to be traveling 800,000 meters a second to be able to kill Diavolo and Kira. As he wonders why Kira and Diavolo didn't even try to resist their deaths when Diavolo could predict his fate, George realizes that Diavolo and Kira must have been fighting each other. Kira's Bites the Dust would activate and try to kill Diavolo, but Diavolo's King Crimson would sense that future and prevent it from happening. However, Bites the Dust would still be fated to turn time back one hour. Thus, Kira would have no memories of trying to blow Diavolo up and would attempt to do so again. Every time Diavolo deleted the time frame of his death, they were trapped in an infinite time loop.

With his Beyond, George is convinced that his deduction is correct so he moves on to figuring out why their battle had to happen at the Arrow Cross House. Cube House was a tesseract with its own spacetime, and whoever the killer is wouldn't want to speed up time for the rest of the world as that would cause mass hysteria. Following George's request, all of the clocks in the house are brought to the study by Rohan, Muryotaisu, Fukashigi, and Koji. The Nijimura twins are creeped out at how all of Rohan's clocks are exactly in sync with even the second hands matching, but Rohan argues that he isn't as sloppy as them. George then asks Reimi about the Cube House. Rohan explains how Stands can unexpectedly evolve, so it's natural that Reimi doesn't have her old memories. For example, Muryotaisu's Grand Blue had also increased in number. Noting how Reimi looked depressed after what Rohan said, George asks the manga artist if he ever felt the fear of forgetting what he lived through. Rohan denies by saying he's thrown his whole life into drawing manga so there's nothing frightening about it to him. Koji and the Nijimura twins scold Rohan for his rudeness to Reimi, leading Rohan to finally realize his thoughtlessness. Rohan apologizes and says that he's not trying to be conceited but he just expects too much from people. The Nijimura twins and Koji laugh about his arrogance. George interrupts their banter and explains that he doesn't think Reimi evolved because a Stand forgetting their user would be a problem. Rather, he believes that something traumatic happened and Reimi was inflicted with a Wound.

George's explanation triggers Reimi's memories and an Arrow violently ejects from her body. Her memories return, and she smiles at George, revealing that her sole purpose was to search for him. Penelope was desperate after George's presumed death and unconsciously awakened her Stand. Reimi supposedly manifested at Nishi Akatsuki in Fukui Prefecture, which is the hometown of the other Jorge. She and Cube House then moved to Morioh in 2004, waiting for George to reach there. At some point, Reimi was asked by someone to protect four Arrows. She accidentally stabbed herself with them in 2007 and developed a Wound, transforming Cube House into Arrow Cross House. Reimi decides to take George back home, but Fugo and Mista retort that George still hasn't solved the mystery. Reimi threatens that if Fugo and Mista don't listen to her, they would never escape, since they are inside her and Cube House has no doors or windows. Fugo and Mista panic trying to look for exits, and encounter the tesseract function of Cube House for the first time.

George explains his final deductions to everyone. The killer's Stand has the power to speed up time. They lured Kira and Diavolo to Arrow Cross House after setting the two against each other. As time looped, the killer sped up time and compressed it until neither of them could move at all, then slit their throats. Giorno unsuccessfully tries to conceal his surprise, making George suspicious. After George asks Bucciarati if his boss is lying, Bucciarati notices the scent of a lie coming from Giorno. Giorno tells him that he's imagining it, infuriating Bucciarati. Fugo and Mista run back into the room asking Bucciarati what is happening, but Bucciarati angrily yells at Fugo to shut up. Giorno denies all of the accusations but Bucciarati doesn't believe him. Bucciarati begins stitching Giorno's mouth closed with his Stand Stepmom until Giorno yells out that he isn't lying, but he was the one that was lied to. Meanwhile, NYPD Blue and Abbacchio notice that Diavolo's pages from Heaven's Door were not in order; his body only had odd pages, meaning that Diavolo had an alternate personality and someone else had the even pages. Giorno says that he was betrayed by God, causing Bucciarati to punch him in the face. Giorno begins crying, but the tears and blood dry in an instant.

Rohan discloses that he used Heaven's Door on everybody except Giorno who could already speak Japanese and Italian, and Doppio, since he arrived late. They notice that Doppio is no longer with them so Muryotaisu summons Grand Blue to go find him. The dolphins quickly retrieve him from Cube House below the study, where he angrily points out that he was on the phone. Rohan was suspicious of Doppio from the beginning because of the crazy things he had been saying. However, Heaven's Door reveals that Doppio has both odd and even numbered pages, so he is a normal person who is just a bit peculiar. The bodies begin rotting faster as Enrico Pucci arrives, stating that Giorno shouldn't blame God for abandoning him. Pucci divulges that Giorno couldn't bear the burden of his sins and created an alternate personality in his mind, so he could play the hero while his alter ego, Diavolo, was punished for his dirty deeds. Giorno smiles, revealing that manipulating Pucci was all part of his father's plan and now the priest no longer has any use to him. Flustered, Pucci tells Giorno to shut up and rapidly speeds up time, threatening to slaughter all of Giorno's men. Giorno points to a rhinoceros beetle flying in the air, turning it back into an Arrow with his Gold Experience. He had turned Reimi's Arrow into a living being to prevent the flow of time from damaging it. Giorno then explains that there are actually three more Arrows since the house has three arrows outside, causing Reimi to violently eject the remaining ones out of her as well. Giorno laughs about these Arrows being the real four rhinoceros beetles. With the Arrow, he evolves his Stand into Gold Experience Requiem. His evolved Stand immediately sends Pucci to a world where he'll wander for eternity with all his desires and actions being in vain.

With Giorno off guard, Rohan uses Heaven's Door on him. They verify that his body has the even numbered pages, but all of the pages also said the word "death". Noticing Giorno's eyeless face on the back of the book cover, George asks Antonio Torres if he came to this universe with Tsukumojuku. The actual Giorno had used his Stand Gold Experience to transform Antonio's hollow skin into a body double of Giorno. Since Antonio was now discovered, Giorno cancels the effect and Antonio reverts back into being empty skin. George realizes this is the original Antonio who bullied him back when they were children, before Antonio made all of his clones. Ordered by his boss, the original zombie Antonio in 1900 had traded places with the skin sample that Tsukumojuku was carrying, traveling through time with him. Now having the appearance of Diavolo, Giorno finally reveals his betrayal, claiming to be the boss of Antonio. Fugo attacks Diavolo along with Mista and Abbacchio but their attacks do nothing. George then attempts to punch Diavolo but King Crimson punches him through the stomach. He mentions intentionally avoiding George's heart so that he could take him to go see the Secret Emperor. The gangsters and the Japanese group try protecting George but they are all easily defeated. Reimi cries as Diavolo jumps into Cube House with George.

George awakens, finding himself on the deck of a ship near a large black coffin. Diavolo yells at the man in the coffin to wake up, and George recognizes him as Dio Brando. They had traveled through time to one hundred years after Dio sank in the coffin. Hungry, Dio decides to drink some of Diavolo's blood first. As Diavolo's body belongs to Dio's son, his blood is suitable. Diavolo attempts to use King Crimson but Dio's The World stops time before he can. Dio then reveals the Stand he had stolen from Jonathan Joestar's body, a crown of thorns that could see the futures of his blood relatives. Dio kicks Diavolo and stomps on his head, claiming they still have work to do. George witnesses Dio and Diavolo vanish, realizing that they traveled through time as Cube House's effect was still lingering on Diavolo. He understands that Antonio Torres's true boss is Dio and just had his orders relayed to him by Giorno. Trying to understand the situation, George falls asleep and dreams of Lisa Lisa.

Dio eventually wakes George up by stomping on his face. Holding a Japanese katana, Dio demonstrates how Jonathan taught him that he could be entirely cut in half but still live. He then decides it's time for George to die, but George believes in his Beyond. He notices that Diavolo had reverted back into Giorno and his Stand was out. Already predicting what Giorno would do, The World grabs Gold Experience Requiem by the throat before it could touch Dio. Giorno declares that he doesn't mind being killed, but he wants to get Dio's soul to become a double of him. He reveals that he's not the son of the Dio that died robbing a train in the 37th universe, but instead comes from another universe where he canceled his own death and survived in a place between life and death until he arrived in this universe, waiting for Dio. Dio verifies that this Giorno has the Joestar birthmark and then thrusts his sword through Giorno's heart without hesitation. George starts crying, angering Dio as to how pathetic Jonathan's son is. Dio then sticks his hand into his chest and tears out half of his soul, claiming that he understands the shape of life now, causing George to realize that Dio spoke as if he had his own Beyond too. George believes in his Beyond, causing the sun to rise in time. However, Dio realizes that the sun isn't hurting him that much, shocking George. Before the sun could fully set, Dio shoves half of his soul into Giorno's corpse, transforming the boy's body into a duplicate of Dio. He then picks up the duplicate Dio, throws him into the coffin, and closes the lid.

Ecstatic over conquering the sun and the success of his plan, Dio walks up to a horned man lying on the desk beside George, who he brought with him when he previously traveled through time with Diavolo. He reveals that he had become the Ultimate Thing by drinking this creature's blood. Dio starts feasting on the remains of Kars, claiming the Pillar Man is the best meal that he's ever had. Believing that George is unpredictable since he's a Joestar, Dio decides not to let him die, and demands that George take him to where he wants while the Cube House effect is still on him. He states that he'll sleep for two years until the fake Dio is killed in Egypt, and then he'll collect his Stand back. Afterwards, George will travel through 36 universal loops until he reaches England in 2012, where Lisa Lisa is waiting for him. George notices a dying message left behind by Giorno in hiragana: "Courage" (ゆうき, Yūki). Giorno had sacrificed himself for George and wanted George to have courage to save everyone with his Beyond.

Thrilled about getting closer to his goal of standing on top of the universe, Dio taunts Kars and his enemies. Rather than being irritated, Kars is excited to fight Dio, as Penelope, Narancia, and Jorge watch with fear. Curious of each other's immortality, the two begin fighting. Kars charges forward first and immediately explodes from Dio's punch rush, with bits of his flesh flying in all directions. The force from the impact was strong enough that Kars's flesh stabs through Jorge's body, breaking his bones and puncturing his organs. Narancia grabs Jorge and Penelope and then flees on a one meter long U-Boat, appearing similarly to a skateboard. Kars's body parts start reforming, healing Jorge as the pieces exit from his body. They meet Lisa Lisa and Jorge introduces himself. Although he decides not to tell Lisa Lisa about Kars in case it causes a time paradox, Penelope does so anyways. Penelope declares her resolve to Lisa Lisa that she will find George and bring him back. Meanwhile, Jorge is jealous that the other George has beautiful women who care for him. Narancia interrupts to point out that Dio and Kars are constantly exploding from each other's attacks. They would regenerate faster each time, enjoying their immortality to the fullest. Noticing that the sun is setting, Lisa Lisa thinks that Dio has a strategy in mind and must be buying time for it.

The American Air Force starts dropping missiles to break through the barrier surrounding Great Britain, inside the stomach of the giant Antonio. Jorge sees the elderly Funny Valentine (Universe 37) walking across the surface of the barrier with his frog Stand. He shows them a large piece of paper with only the word "COURAGE" written on it. The younger Funny Valentine who was with Dio earlier appears behind them, informing them that the message is a warning. Funny flings a cape around Jorge but before it could cover him, Lisa Lisa punches Funny's cheek with the Ripple. However, the cape falls onto Jorge anyways and he is teleported to a parallel world along with Funny. Funny's face is momentarily swollen but quickly recovers. In the middle of a red desert, Jorge sees a car headed toward him with another 'Funny Valentine' driving it. After getting an explanation of Funny's Stand, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Jorge sees many cars racing across the desert. The 'Funny' that was in the car tells Jorge that it's the second stage of the Steel Ball Run, taking place in Monument Valley. He's ordered his men to retrieve nine volumes of the Holy Scriptures. Jorge mentions that one of his ancestors was in the Steel Ball Run, but it was a horse race. 'Funny' responds that the race can change in each world, as some worlds have races with planes and blimps instead. Jorge finally understands the meaning of the 'Spiral Staircase'. As the universe loops, lives would be reincarnated but their identities wouldn't be the same. Pucci's Made in Heaven was used to reach the next universe, attempting to connect history and create a loop, but instead what he created is a spiral staircase of different universes. 'Funny' mentions that Dio decided to punish Pucci for this sin, and thus he can no longer return to any universe due to Gold Experience Requiem. He changes the subject to mention that in Jorge's universe, the competitors of the race gathered nine Holy Grails, and Johnny Joestar played a major role but had to drop out along the way.

Not caring about the race, Jorge asks why he was brought to this world. 'Funny' reveals that the two 'Singularities' are the body of the holy man and Jorge Joestar. A singularity is something that only exists once, and there is no other instance of them. The Saint's Corpse only exists in the second universe, where the very first Steel Ball Run took place. Jorge is a singularity because he is an abandoned Japanese kid adopted by the Joestar family and there is no replacement for him in any other universe or parallel world. Jorge questions whether he should trust what 'Funny' is saying, but 'Funny' tells him to just have faith in himself. He opens the car, lets Jorge get in, and then the other Funny starts driving them away. Jorge sees a massive cloud headed towards them from behind, which Funny reveals is Kars from this parallel world. In order to conquer Kars, Funny had fought Kars numerous times in different parallel worlds, trying to find a way to seal Kars or send him away. Kars easily tosses this world's 'Funny' aside while the other Funny starts driving faster. Their car crashes and half of Funny's head gets torn off, but Jorge survives after slamming into a nearby rock.

Jorge wakes up back in the original world at Piccadilly Circus in London. He sees that Funny is somehow still alive. Meanwhile, the giant Antonio spits out a military helicopter with The Funniest Valentine inside. In the sky, Kars has three giant U-Boat Ultimate submarines shooting missiles but Dio would regenerate after each barrage. Kars then uses his own version of Goyathlay Soundman's Dune, swallowing Dio up into a massive whirlpool of sand and rubble. Dio breaks through the sand pillar and laughs along with Kars, realizing that neither of them will win against each other. Dio decides to summon The Funniest, who then leaps out of the helicopter without a parachute. At Dio's cue, Funny runs toward the place where The Funniest is about to land and then claps his hands as The Funniest falls into his arms. The Funniest vanishes and then Funny leaps toward Kars. With assistance from Dio's The World positioning Funny in place, Funny claps his hands on the Pillar Man. However, as time resumes, Kars quickly contorts his body to avoid the clap. Dio continues trying to stop time as Funny attempts to trap Kars between his palms but Kars would rapidly contort his body as soon as time resumes. In the moment that Kars smirks stating that he has figured out Dio's Stand, Funny finally succeeds in teleporting him to a parallel world. Jorge notices The Funniest's hands sticking out of Funny's hands to extend his reach, revealing that The Funniest has the same Stand as Funny, D4C. Suddenly, Jorge is pulled toward The Funniest's hands from a thin strand of Kars's hair wrapped around Jorge's neck.

Jorge finds himself in Manhattan Island in The Funniest's parallel world. He meets with Funny, learning that the Funny in Piccadilly Circus was a fake parallel world version and the actual one that Jorge met with Dio was waiting here for Jorge. Funny notes that since Jorge is a singularity, he is the key to defeating Dio's Stand The Passion which could see the future, and that Kars has realized this. Now that Dio is an Ultimate Thing, his The World is also capable of stopping time for nearly an hour. Funny then teleports Jorge to a parallel Morioh, where Kars is. Kars immediately extracts Jorge's DISC with Whitesnake Ultimate to read everything that Jorge has learned so far. Jorge realizes he still has the pebble phone and calls Bucciarati. Bucciarati informs him of the events in the Arrow Cross House and how the other George solved the mystery. Learning about Dio, Bucciarati interrogates the original Antonio and learns that Dio is his boss. After Antonio killed the three Japanese detectives, Giorno helped him arrange their bodies to resemble Japanese folk tales. Unable to think of a solution on how to flip Morioh, Jorge tells Bucciarati to gather as many Morioh citizens into Arrow Cross House as he could so that they could either time travel or be protected from whatever happens to the island. However, Bucciarati states that since Reimi reverted back to Cube House, they have no way to exit the house or bring anyone inside. After Bucciarati hangs up, Kars tells Jorge to think of a way for them to get back to England while he entertains their guest, this parallel world's version of Kars.

The other 'Kars's had also become an Ultimate Thing and activates his Light Mode. However, instead of fighting, the other 'Kars's punches the air to create a dancing light show. 'Kars's makes light copies of himself, dancing and scattering variations of light across the school yard. The original Kars doesn't understand why he isn't stopping, but Jorge believes that it's just something that 'Kars's is doing for himself. 'Kars's spiels that after running on Mars for so long, he understood that despite the immortality of his flesh, his life is fragile and can be extinguished easily. Aware of himself being a fake version of Kars, he had the intention of killing himself by getting close to his original world version but decided to dance instead. His speech puts the original Kars deep in thought and Jorge discovers a way they could get back to England. They find a house at the edge of Morioh, belonging to Kosaku Kawajiri, Shinobu, and Hayato.

Seeing Kars, Kosaku desperately screams at Shinobu and Hayato to run away. Kars asks whether he's Kira and Kosaku confirms that he's a serial killer, causing Bites the Dust to explode. As Kars is immune to explosions, he puts Jorge inside him and travels back in time an hour. They arrive back at Piccadilly Circus with Funny about to teleport Kars again, but this time Jorge knows what would happen. Jorge yells out to Kars that Funny will clap twice, allowing Kars to instantly react to both claps. Kars sends Funny flying away with a punch but Dio unleashes the next part of his plan. A parallel world version of Dio grabs Kars from behind him, as a group of nine Funny Valentines and nine The Funniest Valentines surround Kars. 36 hands clap down on Kars and he vanishes once more along with the other Dio. Meanwhile, the group of Funnys collides with the group of The Funniests and they disintegrate into Menger sponges. Dio laughs over his victory until Jorge tells him to look at the sky. Kars grins down at him, revealing that he learned how to use his own version of Dio's Stand, The World Ultimate. He had stopped time and escaped from the claps. Wondering where Dio's confidence comes from, Jorge sees a shadowy figure with long hair talking behind Dio, realizing that Dio has a Beyond too.

Dio's Stand becomes The World Ultimate as well, but Kars fights him with Whitesnake Ultimate. It punches Dio's cheek and shatters the DISC of The World Ultimate, dissolving Dio's Stand. Kars then uses Whitesnake Ultimate on himself, slamming the numerous DISCs flowing out of him into Dio's head. Dio's head and body swells up into a ball of flesh from all the DISCs but he remains confident. With an Arrow, Dio stabs Kars's Whitesnake Ultimate before he explodes into nine parts. Kars attempts to send Dio away with Ultimate D4C but Dio's body parts fly away, managing to take control of Kars's new C-MOON Ultimate Requiem. Jorge and Narancia fire missiles with U-Boat at the giant Antonio, though Antonio knocks them all aside. As Antonio attempts to swallow the pieces of Dio in order to bring Dio outside England, Lisa Lisa runs across Antonio's body upside down and dodges his giant punches. She places the Red Stone of Aja on Antonio's stomach and uses her technique, Sunset Orange Overdrive. Antonio shrieks from the Ripple traveling throughout his body. Dio furiously berates Antonio for being worthless and shouts that all he needs to do is inhale Dio's pieces. Antonio finally manages to inhale, allowing Dio to travel outside England and achieve Made in Heaven Ultimate Requiem. Antonio's head begins to crumble from the constant barrage of missiles from Jorge and Narancia, but Kars tells them to stop killing him or they won't be able to return England back to its original timeline.

As Dio starts speeding up time, Funny and The Funniest discover that Dio is headed for the past beyond the future. They reveal that the Valentines have two duties as leaders of the United States. Their first is to intervene in the Steel Ball Run race and their second is to protect the secret held underground at Trinity Church, the Saint's Corpse. The corpse was gathered by their ancestor, the original Funny Valentine from the 2nd universe during the first Steel Ball Run. They realize now that the corpse of the "holy man" was actually just the body parts of Dio, separated from his fight with Kars. Dio's body couldn't recombine because Kars placed nine blank Stand DISCs into him. Humans and vampires can only have one Stand per person, so Dio's body attempted to compensate by splitting into nine pieces. Funny calls his wife Scarlet who verifies that the Trinity Church in their universe does not have the Saint's Corpse. Meanwhile, Made in Heaven Ultimate Requiem loops the universe back to July 24, 2012, on the 37th iteration where they started. The elderly Funny Valentine had been clinging so closely to the giant Antonio's stomach with his Stand that he exposed his flesh to 36 deaths and births of the universe. They realize that this means the 37th universe is the final universe, and the universe where Lisa Lisa and Kars is from is the first.

While speaking with Kars, Jorge understands that the real two 'Singularities' are Nishi Akatsuki and the Bermuda Triangle. Kars also gets him to comprehend that Jorge is the only one who could surprise Dio, as he had already succeeded in taking him by surprise earlier. Only someone with a Beyond could defeat another with a Beyond, so Jorge gains confidence in himself. He discerns that they could go back in time and outmaneuver Dio by utilizing Kira's Bites the Dust. Kars divulges that the real Kira actually isn't dead and the corpse in the Arrow Cross House was the 37th universe's Kosaku Kawajiri. The Kosaku they met in the parallel world wasn't Kira either, it was Kosaku who was turned into a bomb by Bites the Dust, who thought of himself as a serial killer because of how many people he had indirectly killed.

Jorge calls Bucciarati and informs him of the situation. Bucciarati has Daibakusho Curry and Runbaba 12 investigate what happened to Denta Shishimaru's secretary, Chien Kunimido. The two are quickly able to find Chien at his house, learning that he is actually Kira. Disguised as Chien, Kira had blown up several detectives and also tortured the original George to the brink of death. Listening to Jorge's request, Bucciarati sends the original Antonio through Cube House back in time to England. To prolong the life of the giant Antonio, Kars uses Made in Heaven Ultimate Requiem to speed up time for the original Antonio. The original Antonio would constantly create new Antonio clones, and then Penelope would use her Wound to make the clones be absorbed into the dying giant Antonio, slightly repairing him.

Bucciarati and the others manage to reach Chien's house by Reimi rolling Cube House like a die. By the time they arrive, Kira apparently killed George already. Angered, Bucciarati threatens to kill Kira but Jorge warns him not to, as they need Kira's power. He has Bucciarati drop Kira through the hole in Cube House, which teleports Kira to Jorge. Kars lectures Kira about how he could never wash the blood away from killing humans, and that's why he's so weak. Kars demonstrates by touching blood on Kira's lip and creating a round, transparent bubble from his fingertip which transforms into a woman's head. Kars then touches Kira with the finger and the woman's head attaches to Kira's body. In time, more and more bubbles surround the head, causing Kira to be covered in several heads of women. Kira screams, trying to shake them off. Eventually, Kars touches the five meter long chain of heads, causing them to shrink and disappear. Kira goes into a state of shock, with hollow eyes and muttering that he's filthy. Kars pulls Killer Queen out of Kira and the Stand attempts to blow Kars up. It repeatedly tries making Kars into a bomb, but Kars contains the explosions inside him and regenerates. Kars then orders Killer Queen to set Bites the Dust on Kira. Killer Queen obliges and goes inside Kira, shocking Kira that his Stand would betray him. Kira starts crying as Kars grabs his body and flies into the sky. The Funniest leaves back to America by entering the mouth of the giant Antonio. Finally, Kars constantly has Bites the Dust activate and repeatedly explodes to keep going back in time.

They arrive at Trinity Church in the 2nd universe, where Funny leads them to the secret underground facility. After hearing the plan on the pebble phone, NYPD Blue insists Manhattan is his territory and decides to come with them, dragging Fukashigi into Cube House's hole. They see a corpse of the parallel world Diego on the ground, along with Dio's head and Lucy Steel. Dio thanks Lucy because her giving birth to the supplemental head of the holy man allowed Dio to reach this spot where all his body parts were gathered without Funny Valentine or anyone in the race suspecting the truth of where the corpse's head had gone.

As Dio pulls his corpse parts toward his head, Erina emerges from behind Dio. Jorge had previously loaned his U-Boat DISC to Penelope, who made the trip back to Wastewood to bring Erina here. Erina fuels Dio's anger, stating that even Dario Brando had the sense to behave in front of George Joestar I, whereas Dio is still trapped by his parent's curse after a century and refuses to take responsibility for anything. Next, Lisa Lisa steps out of the darkness holding her son, Joseph Joestar. Dio roars with confusion as to why Lisa Lisa would bring her baby to a battle zone. Erina then calls for Jorge to show himself, surprising Dio even more. Jorge's plan of catching Dio off guard was working. He recalls how Kars told him that Dio left Made in Heaven Ultimate Requiem in the original universe. Right after the fake DIO died against Jotaro Kujo in Egypt, Dio recovered The World from there.

Pretending to be the original George, Jorge states his name, introducing himself as the host of this Joestar family reunion. Jorge then reveals a special party trick, lifting his shirt up and exposing his stomach. Kars jumps out from a parallel world within Jorge's stomach. From there, Funny additionally sends out seven parallel world Kars, each having their own The World Ultimate. They each stop time so that they wouldn't be destroyed and then form a ladder by grabbing each other's hands. The original Kars makes time resume, and at that signal, Jorge quickly runs up the ladder of Kars before they collapse into Menger sponges. Jorge lands on the table where Dio's body was placed and chops off the supplemental head, using a hatchet given to him by Funny. Finally, Funny gives Jorge another head from out of Jorge's stomach, the head of Jonathan Joestar, which Erina had kept safe. Jorge places Jonathan's head on top of the corpse and it matches perfectly, as it was his original body. Jorge knows that all of this had become possible due to him, the other George, and Dio all sharing the same Beyond, known as The Trinity.

Erina wraps her shawl around Jonathan's waist so he wouldn't be naked. For a moment, Jorge could see Jonathan's Stand The Passion around his head. Jonathan revives and suddenly starts laughing, claiming that he is actually Dio since Dio had given him his blood after cutting off Jonathan's head on the boat. Everybody is shocked aside from Erina who could tell that he is joking. She scolds him by saying he should at least thank everyone for their help instead of joking like that. Jonathan states that he couldn't remember anything after he passed out in the ship but he felt like he was watching a very long dream and what he just did was an inside joke between him and Dio, referencing what Joseph Joestar does in the future. When Dio was using The Passion to watch the futures of Jonathan's descendants, Jonathan had also been seeing them. Frustrated about constantly losing to the Joestars, Dio attaches himself to the headless body of Diego. Dissatisfied, Dio declares he does not want to associate with the Joestars anymore and vanishes into the darkness of the stairs behind him.

Erina and Jonathan have a tearful reunion. Erina hesitates mentioning what happened to their son, George II, and Jonathan looks confused. He had figured out that George was hiding inside a parallel world within the body of the 37th universe's Jorge. George leaps out of the parallel world and reunites with Lisa Lisa. Although he was found dead by Bucciarati's team, his body was brought back to Cube House where Reimi cried and shook his body. Two hours later, she found George's soul flying inside her. With the power of his Beyond, George had learned how to separate his soul like Dio did so he could get away from Kira's torture. The Joestar family all have a group hug. Meanwhile, Erina notices Lucy staring at her. They mention how their maiden names are both Pendleton and discuss how it is important to keep faith. The two are glad they could meet each other and tears run down Lucy's cheeks, although she doesn't know why.

NYPD Blue convinces Fukashigi to live in New York, so he decides he should apply for a college there. Funny goes back to his own universe, stating that he has learned his lesson in how to make America truly prosper. Penelope decides it's time for her to leave the Joestars and moves to Japan in the 37th universe so she could meet her Stand, Reimi. Two years later, she marries Jorge's father, Jonda Joestar and a year after that, they have a daughter, Joeko Joestar. Kars uses the exhausted Kira to take everybody back to their respective universes and timelines. Jorge wonders what Kars is up to now, but decides he's better off not knowing. Lisa Lisa and George were separated because she was afraid of losing him again. Since George was legally dead in England, he moves to America and becomes a screenwriter in Hollywood using the pen name "Motorize Jump", waiting for Lisa Lisa to come back to him. When Jorge is twenty, he changes the official English spelling of his name from 'Joji' to 'Jorge'. However, he can't decide on the Japanese spelling. Although Jorge feels like an idiot asking a man from a country which doesn't use kanji about what the spelling of his name should be, Jorge decides to call Tonpetty using the pebble phone. Tonpetty gives him the spelling 城字ジョースター (Jōji Jōsutā). At first Jorge thinks it's extremely weird from a Japanese perspective because the kanji that Tonpetty chose for spelling "Joji" means "castle" and "character", but then Jorge realizes that it is actually fitting for him.

Trivia

  • The novel relies heavily on a meta-narrative, often making very plot significant allusions to the fact that it is a work of fiction, and frequently hinting at Maijo's other works that contain the same themes.
  • JORGE JOESTAR released on September 19, 2012. September 19 can be written as 9-19, which is 九十九 (Tsukumo) in Japanese. The paperback version then released on December 19, 2017. 19 is written as 十九 (Juku) in Japanese. Connecting the two creates Tsukumojuku. 19 is also an important number in one of the JDC books by Ryūsui Seiryōin, called The Simons Case (彩紋家事件, Saimon Kejiken).
  • JORGE JOESTAR is referenced in All Star Battle in a mirror match of Kars against himself. Kars quotes the Parallel World version of himself from Chapter 16, stating "I am alive! My body didn't die, but my life is just as weak and fragile as before".
  • Despite no official English translation of the novel being available, Jorge Joestar recieved an English fan-translation by BuddyWaters in 2017
