Funny Valentine
Funny Valentine (ファニー・ヴァレンタイン, Fanī Varentain) is a tertiary character featured in the light novel JORGE JOESTAR. He is an incarnation of the original Funny Valentine, living in the 37th universe.
Instead of Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, he has a frog-like Stand named Singing in the Rain. His son is named Funnier Valentine and his grandson is named The Funniest Valentine.
Appearance
The 37th universe's Funny Valentine is over eighty years old in 2012. Despite being old, he still looks to be in good health. However, Koji Hirose reveals that he wears a wig and hides his wrinkles with Botox and plastic surgery.[1] His outfit is the same as his younger self from the other universe.
Personality
Funny Valentine is an imposing individual, still commanding respect as a former president of the United States. He takes extraordinary risks, personally stepping into dangerous situations rather than advising The Funniest Valentine from afar. Although he doesn't actually fight nor speak, he communicates threats and messages to the citizens of Morioh by holding up signs from a helicopter in the middle of the battlefield.[1]
Abilities
Stand
Singing in the Rain belongs to the 37th universe's Funny Valentine. It is a frog-like Stand that can be ridden and adhere itself onto surfaces to bring its rider anywhere in spite of difficult circumstances.[1]
History
Background
Funny Valentine used to be the president of the United States of America. Five people had become the president since then, with the latest one in 2012 being his grandson, The Funniest Valentine.[1]
JORGE JOESTAR
When Morioh becomes a separate island and suddenly starts sailing toward America, the elderly Funny arrives on a helicopter with a message from his grandson's American army. He nearly loses his balance from his helicopter due to the wind, and slides on top of Morioh's barrier. Funny gives Koji Hirose a message intended for Morioh's mayor, stating that if nothing changes then the American army will flip the island. Jorge and the others notice that Funny has trouble getting back onto his helicopter, but figure he'll be fine since they see that he has a Stand.[1]
The American Air Force starts dropping missiles to break through the barrier surrounding Great Britain, inside the stomach of the giant Antonio. Jorge sees the elderly Funny walking across the surface of the barrier with Singing in the Rain. He shows them a large piece of paper with only the word "COURAGE" written on it.
When Dio Brando uses Made in Heaven Ultimate Requiem, the elderly Funny Valentine had been clinging so closely to the giant Antonio's stomach with his Stand that he exposed his flesh to 36 deaths and births of the universe. Jorge wonders what that would have felt like. In the end, The Funniest returns to America with his helicopter, presumably taking his grandfather with him.[2]
