Highway Star, Part 1 (ハイウェイ・スター その1, Haiuei Sutā Sono Ichi) is the one hundred second episode of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime and the twenty-eighth episode of Diamond Is Unbreakable.

Summary

Josuke meets Mikitaka in the streets, but also a woman who is revealed to be his mother, and is exasperated by her son claiming to be an alien. Josuke's confusion is only increased when Mikitaka whispers behind her back that he used brainwashing on her and made her believe that he was her child. Observing the scene from afar, Yoshihiro Kira is as confused as Josuke, but dismisses the whole affair to declare the next Stand Highway Star will defeat his son's enemies.

Josuke takes the bus and meets Rohan Kishibe, who due to yesterday's dice game, is still mad at him and the journey in the bus is tense. In a tunnel, Rohan sees a room in the side of the tunnel where one man is cutting a woman's hand off. Rohan soon notices that only he has seen that room and suspects that the man he has seen is Yoshikage Kira.

Josuke doubts that Rohan has actually seen a house built inside the tunnel. He suspects that Rohan is planning retribution for the time Josuke cheated on their game of cee-lo. They argue, and Rohan ends up going to the tunnel alone.

In the tunnel, Rohan concludes the room wasn't a hallucination, and could only be an enemy Stand or a trap. Nonetheless, he starts to search the room. After a few minutes, Rohan falls from his bike into the "room", where he hears a sound coming from a wardrobe. Afraid, Rohan runs away from the room as fast as he can. He can't see anyone but still knows that something is coming for him.

As he exits the tunnel Rohan thinks about telling Joseph about the Stand room, and figures out he is still being followed by an invisible Stand which can only be seen by its footprints. As he accelerates, he discovers that it's a remote Stand which can only reach 60 km/h, but does not seem to decelerate at all. Rohan tries to turn the footprints into books, but they start to suck his energy. Struggling, he is taken back to the tunnel. Meanwhile, Josuke decides to enter the tunnel.

When Josuke returns toward the tunnel, he sees Rohan's bike suddenly coming out of it and crashing on a wall. Meanwhile the footprints catch up to Rohan and assemble themselves into a full Stand, Highway Star, which sucks up Rohan's strength. As a result, Rohan cannot even use Heaven's Door and is utterly defeated. When Josuke calls for Rohan, Highway Star interrupts his attack. Josuke then enters the tunnel and sees the room, with Rohan inside.

Hidden behind Rohan's back, Highway Star tries to tempt Rohan into luring Josuke in, promising to spare his life; but Rohan challenges Highway Star and warns Josuke to stay away. However Josuke steps into the room, intending to beat up whatever is inside. Highway Star now has Josuke's scent and attacks him, but Rohan uses Heaven's Door to make him fly backwards at 70 kmph. Before Highway Star sucks up all of Rohan's energy, the mangaka explains how the enemy Stand functions and tells him to look for the user. Now outside of the tunnel, Josuke repairs Rohan's motorbike and prepares to fight Highway Star.
