Brian Beacock

Brian Beacock is an American voice actor, writer, producer and musician who voices Shigekiyo Yangu in the English dub of the third season of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: The Animation, Diamond is Unbreakable.

He is also well known for his roles as Dom in Beastars, Yumichika Ayasegawa in Bleach, Byonko in Zatch Bell, Takato Matsuki in Digimon Tamers, Monokuma in the Danganronpa franchise and in Chojuro in the Naruto franchise.

Biography

Born in Hayward, California, Beacock was originally a local theater performer in the San Francisco Bay Area before moving to Los Angeles to expand his career into the television and film industry. Since then, he has appeared in various TV shows like CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Kath & Kim, and Imagination Movers. Notable films he has been include Mulholland Drive, Buying the Cow, and To the Beat!.[2] He officially began voice acting while working at Universal Studios where he was invited by fellow actor and director Mary Elizabeth McGlynn to audition for the role of Takato Matsuki in Digimon Tamers.[3]

Beacock was a featured performer at the Roxy Theatre and Performance Space New York, as well as a musical guest on Conan O'Brien and Jay Leno". His theater credits include the West Coast Premiere of "Elegies," When Pigs Fly, The Last Hairdresser, and Naked Boys Singing!.

Beacock has won the Royal Television Society's "Best Main Title Theme" Award for his lyrical composition in Playing It Straight," for which he wrote, produced, and performed 30 songs live on-set. As a writer and producer, he is notable for his award-winning series McCracken Live! and Acting Dead.[2]

Trivia

  • Beacock's favorite character to voice is Monokuma from Danganronpa, but he considers Takato Matsuki from Digimon Tamers to be his most important role as it jumpstarted his voice acting career.[3]
