Still angry for having been tricked back at the coastal village, Secco threatens and insults Bucciarati, who has to correct him on the exact terms of the insult. Secco suddenly remembers he has to prop up his camera, prompting Bucciarati to send Sticky Fingers forth and attack Secco. However, Secco outpaces Sticky Fingers and kicks Bucciarati in the chin. Bucciarati realizes that Secco is faster and stronger than even Sticky Fingers and must cut up a large piece of the concrete to escape to the streets below before he's overwhelmed. As the mold has no effect on Bucciarati, Secco decides to go for the simple solution and beat him into a pulp with the power of Oasis.

For his part, Cioccolata's helicopter has been entangled to the top of a water by trees. The former surgeon then sees Giorno and Mista coming for him. Cioccolata is effectively trapped; thus Mista shoots five bullets with Sex Pistols toward the helicopter but they then notice that the helicopter is seemingly empty. The bullets crash inside the helicopter, but when No.1 commands the others to search the place, No.2 and No.3 are cut down, shortly followed by No.6 and No.7. Mista is heavily damaged and collapses while Giorno and No.5 still do not know what happened inside the helicopter.

To rescue the rest of Sex Pistols, Giorno now has to climb and fight Cioccolata personally and Mista commands No.5 to take a bullet and accompany Giorno. Giorno reaches the helicopter and touches the flyer: although he can sense signs of life within, he cannot pinpoint their location. Punching the hull with Gold Experience, Giorno makes trees grow all over and inside the helicopter but nothing happens. Climbing up to the front windows, he sees a variety of bloody medical tools inside but also the spreading catastrophe caused by the mold. Giorno then sees a heavily injured No.1 and leans forward to take it, but Cioccolata suddenly appears and attacks. The surgeon takes the advantage and because he's expertly cut himself up into pieces, Cioccolata manages to impale Giorno with his left arm, which he controls through Green Day's mold.

Under the blow, Giorno almost falls back but manages to catch the walls of the helicopter, and Green Day pummels him to send him flying for good Thankfully, No.5 then shoots its bullet through Giorno's hand, allowing it to grow into a tree branch that saves Giorno. In return, Cioccolata tilts the helicopter forward to make the branch drop and be consumed by the mold. The branch explodes and Giorno falls, his body getting covered in mold. Ecstatic, Cioccolata leans out of the helicopter to enjoy the sight of Giorno's despair. However, Giorno makes a part of the branch turn back into the bullet, which hits the propeller and is promptly shot back into Cioccolata's head.

Cioccolata falls down, seemingly dead, while Giorno laboriously climbs up. No.5 tells Giorno to quickly go heal Mista, but Giorno has still the lingering suspicion that Cioccolata is playing dead. Giorno thus analyzes the situation out loud: he predicts Cioccolata's escape plan, then lists his wounds but assures that Gold Experience can still kill him. As a result, he proposes that Cioccolata stays immobile in exchange for mercy. Upon finishing his request, Giorno jumps up to the roof proper and Cioccolata stops playing dead. Showing his left arm choking Mista, Cioccolata gloats and prepares to kill Mista for good, declaring his victory.

However, a beetle suddenly bursts out of Cioccolata's head. Giorno then explains that he only spoke to give the bullet the time to turn into a beetle and have it devour Cioccolata's brain. When Cioccolata tries to invoke Giorno's deal, he simply declares that it was always too good to be true anyway. As Cioccolata tries a desperate last attack, Gold Experience comes forward and pummels Cioccolata while Giorno shouts his signature Stand Cry, ultimately sending the mad surgeon into a garbage truck which crushes him. Victorious, Giorno now can turn his worries toward Bucciarati and Secco. He then sees a mobile phone and realizes that Cioccolata has contacted his pet.

Underground, Secco receives a message and opens it. Cioccolata first reports that he will soon take care of the two enemies coming for him, promises more treats to his pet and declares that he will surpass the Boss shortly, which greatly motivates Secco. Secco reemerges to confront Bucciarati, already exhausted from the battle. Unbeknownst to Bucciarati, the man in the Coliseum is already observing him through binoculars.

Manga/Anime Differences

This section requires expansion.

  • The method of how Cioccolata attacks the Pistols was left vague compared to the manga.
  • Mista's confusion regarding how the Pistols were attacked is removed.
  • A short scene of Giorno noticing the disappearance of Bucciarati and Secco has been cut.
  • In the manga, Giorno tries opening the helicopter door only to find that it is stuck. In the anime, he immediately enters through the cockpit.
  • Cioccolata's wounds from his self-mutilation are almost entirely covered by Green Day's mold as a less obvious form of censorship of the gore.
  • After he leaps away from Giorno, Cioccolata lands on a storage crate instead of the floor next to it.
  • When Cioccolata's severed arm punches Giorno, it is shown to be Cioccolata's for the entirety of the scene. In the manga, the arm is shown as Green Day's for a single panel.
  • Cioccolata is shown stitching his body together, whereas in the manga, the pieces simply fall back into place.
  • The anime shows Cioccolata getting crushed by the garbage truck.
  • The mysterious ally's appearance has been moved to an earlier point of the story.
