Silver Chariot
Silver Chariot (シルバーチャリオッツ(銀の戦車), Shirubā Chariottsu) is the Stand of Jean Pierre Polnareff, primarily featured in the third part of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, Stardust Crusaders, and briefly in the fifth part, Vento Aureo.
Silver Chariot is a humanoid Stand clad in armor and armed with a rapier. It is particularly deadly at close-range combat due to its speed and precision.
Appearance
Hirohiko Araki stated that Silver Chariot's design was created as a combination of a robot with European armor.[3] It is a slightly thin, robotic humanoid. It is usually clad in silver, heavy plate armor all over its body, giving it a bulkier look. This armor also has spiked shoulder pads and elbow pads. Silver Chariot has a distinctive helmet with a jewel embedded in the forehead and several pointed down projections protecting its mouth and cheeks.
It almost constantly wields a cup-hilted rapier which closely resembles a fencing saber. However, its rapier can be unequipped if the Stand needs to use both hands.
During Polnareff's fight with Vanilla Ice, Cream annihilates a portion of Silver Chariot's left thigh and its left ring and pinky finger, though these injuries seem to fixed by the time of Part 5. After fighting Diavolo in the late nineties, Silver Chariot loses its legs and right forearm. They are replaced with metal spike-like appendages.[4]

Personality
Like most Stands, Silver Chariot is devoid of any will or personality, only showing limited expression through its eyes. It serves Polnareff without question, though it does display a high learning ability, as Polnareff rarely gives it direct orders. Although it's usually silent, Silver Chariot's battle cry is "Hora Hora Hora",[5] and it seems to have had a tendency to shout "Pami" when Polnareff was a child.[2]
Silver Chariot is a dedicated combat-oriented close-range Stand. It represents the tarot card The Chariot, which symbolizes invasion and victory.[6]
Abilities
Silver Chariot is a powerful, battle-dedicated close-range Stand that primarily fights with its rapier.
It is an incredibly agile Stand, and it usually relies on attacking enemies with barrages of sword slashes and thrusts before the opponent can react. It can also use its deftness to defend and deflect attacks aimed at it or its user with its sword. Silver Chariot usually doesn't stray far away from Polnareff, but still has the ability to move several meters away from him to attack.[7] Unlike some other Stands, Silver Chariot has the distinct weakness of being unable to see whatever Polnareff cannot see, making it weak if Polnareff himself is blinded in some fashion.
- Speed: Silver Chariot is an incredibly quick Stand. Its speed is high enough that it's able to deflect bullets shot at a point-blank range, block light ray energy shots of the Sun, and intercept Hanged Man multiple times, a Stand who is stated to travel between reflective surfaces at the speed of light. As it is weighed down by its armor, Silver Chariot can reach its full speed by shedding its armor plate.[5] In this state, Silver Chariot is able to appear in multiple places at once, due to moving at a speed faster than the human eye can process, thus creating illusory afterimages.[5] While wielding Anubis, it is capable of quickly overwhelming Star Platinum and its barrage of punches.
- Power: Although the majority of Silver Chariot's power is in its astonishing speed, it still has great destructive power, as it is able to instantly slice through solid rock and concrete with ease.[8] It was even shown able to shake a good portion of DIO's Mansion when Polnareff was sent into a fit of rage; Jotaro's group feels it in the wine cellar, which is across the hall from the billiard room where Polnareff is fighting.[7] However, Silver Chariot's lifting strength is portrayed inconsistently. It is first shown to be able to lift Polnareff[9] against Muhammad Avdol but then shown to be barely strong enough to slowly pull its user against Vanilla Ice, although this might be because Polnareff was very injured at that point.[10]
- Precision: Having trained his Stand for several years, Polnareff has enough control over Silver Chariot's movements to be able to fight like an experienced fencer, slice through a bullet, and skewer several coins and balls of fire in a single thrust when they align.[6] Its precise swordsmanship is also shown in its fights against Anubis, a Stand which not only gives its user expert skills with a sword through adapting from its experiences, but consistently increases its user's speed and strength during and after a battle.
Techniques
Silver Chariot's most unique property is being clad in a set of silver armor that it can unequip.
The armor lowers its speed but also prevents it from being injured, as the thick armor plates absorb attacks that would have harmed the Stand and Polnareff. Although the armor is even shown to be capable of withstanding extreme heat without melting,[5] it cannot resist Cream's void power which disintegrates anything. Polnareff is able to shed Silver Chariot's armor in order to reach its top speed (enough for multiple afterimages to appear), but doing so renders his Stand more vulnerable to attack as a trade-off.[9]
If Silver Chariot is ever in a situation with a severe range disadvantage, Polnareff can use its only ranged and secret technique: launching the blade off his sword.[11] This launch is extremely powerful and precise, capable of ricocheting off other objects and striking with enough force to pierce a human body. The major drawback of doing this is that Silver Chariot can only materialize one sword, so Polnareff must retrieve the blade before being able to attack again.

Trivia
- As a contrast to Star Platinum's human appearance, Araki made Silver Chariot look more robotic, as well as contrasting Star Platinum's punching fighting style with Silver Chariot's swords.[3]
- Silver Chariot is seen holding 2 rapiers instead of one in the JoJo: The Memories of That Blood ~end of THE WORLD~ opening sequence of the anime adaptation of the Battle in Egypt arc of Stardust Crusaders, likely as a nod to its possession by Anubis.
- Silver Chariot's head resembles the mask worn by Jagi in Fist of the North Star.
- Silver Chariot's Stand Cry of "HORAHORAHORA...!" can be translated as either "Hey" or "Come on", possibly meaning that the cry acts as a taunting statement of sorts.
- In the Brazilian Portuguese dub and Latin Spanish dub, the term "Toma" is used instead and can be translated as "Take that".
