CITATION NEEDED

Prosciutto & Pesci (プロシュート&ペッシ, Puroshūto & Pesshi) was revealed as a new playable duo for All-Star Battle R on August 24, 2022, during the game's Part 5 Reveal Trailer.[1] However, Prosciutto was accidentally revealed earlier via an early screenshot posted to the game's official website on the day the game was announced, showing only Prosciutto's name and a part of his HUD portrait among an Arcade Mode list.

Having neither previously appeared in All-Star Battle nor Eyes of Heaven, they have an original moveset based on their appearance in Vento Aureo.

In the English versions of All-Star Battle R, Prosciutto's Stand, The Grateful Dead, is localized as "Thankful Death"; and Pesci's Stand, Beach Boy is localized as "Fisher Man". Both are carried on from All-Star Battle and VIZ's English publications of the manga.[3]

As Prosciutto's voice actor for the Golden Wind anime, Tatsuhisa Suzuki reprises his role in this game, replacing Takuma Terashima who voiced the character in All-Star Battle and Eyes of Heaven. Likewise, Subaru Kimura reprises his role as Pesci, replacing Shinya Fukumatsu.

Gameplay

Prosciutto & Pesci have 1000 health and use the Bro and Mammoni (兄貴とママっ子野郎(マンモーニ), Aniki to Manmōni) Battle Style. The duo are unique in that instead of summoning their Stands when ASBS.png is pressed, Prosciutto can turn Pesci "on/off", summoning and dismissing him to make use of Beach Boy. Therefore, Prosciutto's The Grateful Dead is his default moveset mode, dismissing it whenever Pesci is summoned.

Prosciutto also has a three-meter Aging Gauge mechanic, contributed by moves marked with a star (), debilitating the opponent depending on how full the gauge is.
