Jotaro Kujo (空条 承太郎, Kūjō Jōtarō) was confirmed to return for All-Star Battle R during the game's initial announcement trailer,[1] being the second character to appear after Jolyne Cujoh. He was one of the four characters playable in the game's first Early Access Demo[3] alongside Jonathan Joestar, DIO, and Jolyne Cujoh. He was also 1 of 15 playable characters during the Evo 2022 Demo on August 5.[4] He is part of the game's current demo alongside Joseph Joestar, Jolyne, DIO, and Yoshikage Kira.
His moveset is fundamentally the same as his from All-Star Battle, with a few tweaks being made to both balance the character and fit him into the overall gameplay tweaks that All-Star Battle R brought.
As Jotaro's voice actor in both All-Star Battle and the Stardust Crusaders anime, Daisuke Ono reprises his role as Jotaro's voice actor in this game as well. As with the majority of the game's roster, voice lines for Jotaro were either added or re-recorded.
Jotaro has 1000 health and uses the Stand (スタンド, Sutando) Battle Style, which allows him to freely summon and withdraw his Stand Star Platinum, dynamically changing his moveset in the process. Owing to the simplicity of his Stand, Jotaro is typically viewed as a powerful and well-rounded character, remaining adaptable thanks to his raw, blunt power.
He posseses both above-average damage and melee range, and a lot of his attacks cover a good distance in front of him and have a lengthy execution. Thus, he is one of the easier characters to play in All-Star Battle R, particularly out of the game's Stand users. His moveset provides many useful tools for reaching the opponent, and his ability to stop time allows him to deal incredible burst damage. However, Jotaro suffers from long recovery times and being fairly easy to hit compared to other characters, which can make maneuvering around certain opponent attacks difficult.

Style/Specials/Etc. [Stand Off] (スタイル/特殊技/その他)
Stand ON/OFF (スタンドON/OFF)
ON GROUND
Switches between User Mode and Stand Mode. Doing so changes the skills Jotaro has access to.
I stopped time... (おれが時を止めた…)
+ ON GROUND
If Jotaro has a minimum of one and a half stocks of the Heart Heat Gauge, he can use his Stand's signature ability to stop time. If the activating three-second animation plays uninterrupted, Jotaro will stop time for anywhere from 3.4 to 6.9 seconds depending on how much of the HHG he has.
All animations, including the HHG flame and the countdown on the battle timer, will temporarily cease, and the opponent is frozen in place and completely unable to act. Damage dealt to the opponent that is not a Throw, "My STAND will be the judge!", HHA, or GHA is reduced, but the opponent is otherwise absolutely vulnerable. When the ability ends and time resumes, the opponent will suffer all damage dealt to them at once.
Jotaro may use his HHA or GHA with impunity if he has enough of the HHG left to do so. He is even capable of hitting opponents that were down when the ability was activated, 'resetting' them into a standing position once hit. The ability is best used with normal attacks in mind in order to deal the most damage within the stopped time, as they execute quickly and their damage reduction within stopped time is insubstantial.
If Jotaro's Throw, "My STAND will be the judge!", or GHA is used, time will immediately resume with the HHG drained to zero.
If fighting against himself, DIO, Jotaro Kujo (Part 4), or Parallel World Diego, Jotaro can use this ability to move within the other fighter's stopped time, and may even outlast his opponent if their HHG runs out first.
This move can also be used to counter DIO's Great Heat Attack, "It's a steamroller!". This is done by inputting the "I stopped time..." skill at any point during this attack. Although Jotaro will still take some damage, the damage of the steamroller's explosion is negated and Jotaro cannot be KO'd by the GHA at all. Jotaro and DIO will also end up at opposite ends of the battle arena. This counter will cost Jotaro 2 stocks of his Heart Heat Gauge. For more detailed information, see his Special Interactions.
Startup frames: 202 ~ 103 (depending on on HH gauge)
Back off. (さがっていろ)
+ ON GROUND
Jotaro steps forward to deliver a kick to the opponent's leg. This skill is a low attack that cannot be blocked standing. A command normal that can chain into Jotaro's other skills. (Comboable)
Attack type: Low Damage: 18
Rumble Mode (ゴゴゴモード)
Activates below 30% health
This mode is automatically activated once Jotaro falls below 30% health. It increases his attack power, as well as the rate at which the Heart Heat Gauge rises, while also decreasing the rate at which the Guard Gauge drops.
Skills [Stand Off] (コマンド技)
ORA, ORA! (オラオラッ)
+ // ON GROUND
Jotaro summons Star Platinum to unleash a barrage of punches, sending the opponent flying on the final hit. The distance the Stand moves depends on the input, increasing in order; although this also increase vulnerability. This ability can initiate Rush Mode.
Attack type: High Damage: 72
Here's your receipt! (つけの領収書だぜ)
+ // ON GROUND
Jotaro summons Star Platinum to unleash an upward barrage of punches at an upward angle, sending the opponent flying far on the final hit. The damage increases in order, although increasing vulnerability as well. If activated with or , this move also grants brief invincibility during the moment of activation. This move is also useful as an anti-air.
Attack type: High Damage: 45 / 80 / 110
My Stand will be the judge! (裁くのはおれのスタンドだーッ!)
+ // ON GROUND
Star Platinum is summoned to charge forward a considerable distance and deliver a hook. If the punch connects, Star Platinum will pick the opponent up with one hand and pummel their face with the other before delivering an uppercut to knock them away. The distance that Star Platinum travels increases in order, although also increasing vulnerability. While Star Platinum is traveling, the skill has Super Armor, meaning that attacks that hit Star Platinum while it's traveling will not stop it.
Switches between User Mode and Stand Mode. Doing so changes the skills Jotaro has access to.

ORAAAA! (おらあ!)
+ ON GROUND
Star Platinum performs an uppercut, sending the opponent into the air, potentially leading into or extending combos.
Damage: 40
Rumble Mode (ゴゴゴモード)
Activates below 30% health
This mode is automatically activated once Jotaro falls below 30% health. It increases his attack power, as well as the rate at which the Heart Heat Gauge rises, while also decreasing the rate at which the Guard Gauge drops.
Skills [Stand On] (コマンド技)
ORA, ORA! (オラオラッ)
+ // ON GROUND
Star Platinum unleashes a barrage of punches, with the option to lead into ORAAA!. The distance the Stand moves depends on the input, increasing in order; although this also increase vulnerability. Also, pressing the attack button repeatedly will increase the number of hits. This ability can initiate Rush Mode.
Damage: 63 ~ 103 (depending on the number of hits)
ORAAA! (オラァッ!)
(After "ORA, ORA!") + // ON GROUND
Star Platinum slightly extends its barrage before briefly pulling back then delivering a single, final punch that sends the opponent flying.
Damage: 50
Star Finger (流星刺指)
+ // ON GROUND
After a lengthy start-up period, Star Platinum explosively extends its fingers out to pierce the opponent in an unblockable attack, knocking them into the air while simultaneously pulling them towards Jotaro. The damage, pull and wind-up of this move increases in order. It is also a Stand Rush skill that Jotaro can disconnect from to attack the opponent while it is executing.
After a brief start-up period, Star Platinum inhales with great strength to pull the opponent closer, giving Jotaro the advantage and a chance to attack first. Although it doesn't deal damage, this move can be 'blocked' and its stagger effect negated, but the vacuum effect cannot be nullified. The range of the pull increases in order. It is also a Stand Rush skill that Jotaro can disconnect from to attack the opponent while it is executing.
Throw (投げ技)
This incredible power...! (この圧倒的パワー)
2 ATK buttons near opponent or (Rear throw with ) ON GROUND
Star Platinum picks the opponent up, before spinning and slamming them into the ground. Unblockable.
Attack type: Throw Damage: 140
Heart Heat Attack / Great Heat Attack (HHA / GHA)
ORA ORA ORA ORA! (オラオラオラオラッ!)
+ 2 ATK Buttons ON GROUND
Star Platinum delivers its signature flurry of punches in an extended barrage lasting around 2–5 seconds, dependent on whether or not the attack button is rapidly pressed, ending in either a punch that sends the opponent flying (without input), or an uppercut that knocks them high into the air (with successful input). This HHA does not require an initial hit to connect in order to work, and will not stop until it finishes or Jotaro is interrupted.
If done during the I stopped time... skill, the opponent will fly upward upon time resuming, allowing for Jotaro to follow up.
Attack type: High Damage: 100 ~ 203 (depending on number of hits)
“
You're outta here. (ブッ飛びな)
”
You pissed me off. (てめーはおれを怒らせた)
+ 3 ATK Buttons, or ON GROUND
Jotaro calls Star Platinum to fly at the opponent and deliver a powerful punch. If it connects, they're knocked off their feet before Jotaro immediately stops time. Star Platinum then unleashes an incredible barrage of punches on the defenseless foe before throwing a final body blow, for total of 114 hits. Pointing his finger, Jotaro remarks that the opponent pissed him off, and finally resumes time to let them go flying.
Attack type: High Damage: 360 / 432 / 540 (depending on HH gauge)
“
Star Platinum! You're going down! ORAORAORAORAORAORAORAAA! You pissed me off. (スタープラチナ! ブチかますぜ! オラオラオラオラオラオラオラオラオラァー!! 『てめーはおれを怒らせた』)
”
Assist System (アシストシステム)
Assault Assist (アサルトアシスト)
ON GROUND
A two-stock assist. Jotaro lands in and summons Star Platinum to unleash a barrage of punches.
Attack type: High Damage: 103
Reversal Assist (リバーサルアシスト)
ON GROUND
A one-stock assist. Jotaro jumps into the enemy, punching them with Star Platinum, knocking them back. He then withdraws his Stand and poses before jumping back off-screen.
Star Platinum now moves forward when attacking, giving this attack much more range than it had in All-Star Battle.
Specials [Stand Off] (特殊技)
I stopped time...
+ ON GROUND
This special now executes drastically slower, giving Jotaro's opponent more time to interrupt him and making it more difficult to successfully stop time. However, it executes drastically faster if he has a full three stocks of Heart Heat when performing it, comparable to its speed in the original All-Star Battle.
Skills [Stand Off] (コマンド技)
ORA, ORA!
+ //
Star Platinum now advances forward while attacking depending on the attack button input. Its fists have noticeably less reach, reducing the effective range of the attack. Also, the final punch no longer sends the opponent flying, instead inflicting simple stagger that leaves the opponent standing and able to quickly recover.
Here's your receipt!
Jotaro now gains invulnerability during the attack's start-up period if Medium () or Heavy () is inputted, with the trade-off being that they can no longer be Flash Canceled. The camera also no longer shifts during the last hit.
My STAND will be the judge!
The attack speed and distance differences across the attack button inputs are more pronounced, with Light () now only being a close-ranged attack delivered quickly. The damage also increases in order instead of staying the same. Additionally, all variants of the skill now have super armor.
Normals [Stand On] (通常技)
Standing Heavy Attack
ON GROUND
The attack's animation has been swapped with "ORAAAA!"; It is now a hefty downwards punch with slightly more range than before. Compared to All-Star Battle's"ORAAAA!" this move is now a High rather than a Middle and does not knock the opponent to the ground.
Crouching Heavy Attack
+ ON GROUND
The attack now hits twice and only inflicts basic hitstun rather than tripping the opponent.
Jumping Medium Attack
Jumping IN AIR OK
The attack now knocks the opponent upwards.
Jumping Heavy Attack
Jumping IN AIR OK
This attack now causes a soft knockdown when hitting airborne opponents rather than normal hitstun.
Specials [Stand On] (特殊技)
I stopped time...

This special now executes drastically slower, giving Jotaro's opponent more time to interrupt him and making it more difficult to successfully stop time. However, it executes drastically faster if he has a full three stocks of Heart Heat when performing it, comparable to its speed in the original All-Star Battle.
ORAAAA!
+
The attack's animation has swapped with Stand ON standing Heavy attack; It is now an uppercut that knocks the opponent off their feet.
Skills [Stand On] (コマンド技)
ORA, ORA!
Star Platinum now advances forward while attacking depending on the attack button input. The amount of punches delivered can now be increased by repeatedly tapping an attack button. Star Platinum's fists have noticeably less reach, reducing the effective range of the attack.
ORAAA!
+ //
The input for this follow-up skill has been changed, simplifying the execution required to perform it. Previously, it was in place of . The camera also no longer shifts during this move.
Star Finger
The attack button inputted now determines the skill's damage and speed. The Light () and Medium () variants of this skill execute much faster, making it more difficult for an opponent to react. The attack now has the added effect of knocking the opponent towards Jotaro with a much higher launching effect rather than straight upwards. Finally, the recovery of this skill has been lessened dramatically.
Beat in a single breath!
Jotaro now has an armor effect during the start-up portion of this skill. The force of the vacuum effect is now determined by the attack button inputted.
The speed differences across the attack button inputs are more pronounced, with Light () executing much quicker.
Heart Heat Attack (HHA)
ORA ORA ORA ORA!
The second to last hit during the extended version of attack now launches the opponent a small distance upwards, allowing the final hit to land even if a juggled opponent is particularly low to the ground. This prevents a scenario where the opponent is able to hit the ground (if they're airborne) or even recover from hitstun fast enough to put up their guard (if they're standing) just before the final strike lands, causing it to miss and in the latter case, potentially leave Jotaro open to retaliation.
Jotaro's first ten Taunt and Victory Lines are included in his Taunt and Victory Poses respectively, with two lines per pose; the first two poses of each type are unlocked by default, while the other three of each must be purchased for 450 G each. The remaining lines of both types can be purchased as a single set for 300 G. Jotaro's Tag Lines can be purchased as a set for 140 G, excluding "Do you understand?", which is unlocked by default.

If the GHA is non-lethal and Jotaro activates his time stop during the cinematic, the interaction is extended: After Jotaro is "crushed," DIO celebrates his victory momentarily before himself being trapped in time stop, unable to move. Unlike in the original story, DIO is able to free himself, causing The World and Star Platinum to clash fists before both Stand users are blown away.
