Iggy (イギー, Igī) was confirmed to return for All-Star Battle R during the game's initial announcement trailer. He was also 1 of 15 playable characters during the Evo 2022 Demo in August 5.

His moveset is fundamentally the same as his from All-Star Battle, with a few tweaks being made to both balance the character and fit him into the overall gameplay changes that All-Star Battle R brought.

Misato Fukuen reprises her role as Iggy's voice actress from the Stardust Crusaders anime, replacing Shigeru Chiba. As with the majority of the game's roster, voice lines for Iggy were either added or re-recorded.

Gameplay

Iggy has 800 health and uses the Stand (スタンド, Sutando) Battle Style, which allows him to freely summon and withdraw his Stand The Fool, dynamically changing his moveset in the process.

Unlike the rest of the roster, when his stand is not summoned, Iggy takes chip damage from normal attacks and cannot recover his guard gauge. When combined with his small health pool, it can make blocking extremely punishing. Also unique to Iggy is his ability to automatically escape universal throws at the cost of white health.

Sand Dome (砂のドーム)

ON GROUND CHARGEABLE

Iggy uses The Fool to instantly block attacks using the Heart Heat Gauge in place of the Guard Gauge by turning it into a hard dome made of sand (similar to how he hid underwater from Pet Shop), lasting as long as the inputted button is held, the opponent attempts to Throw Iggy, or until the HHG empties. Because the directional input and style button must be pressed at the same time for this skill to activate, Iggy cannot summon The Fool's dome while walking backwards. He must stop moving before activating it. However, the dome can be summoned at any point while Iggy is guarding by inputting the Style button. This skill automatically defends against all attack types except Throws, including Unblockables, protecting Iggy from high-low mix-up attempts. No chip damage will be taken while Iggy is in the dome.

Hang Glider (ハングライダー)

The Fool sprouts glider wings made of sand, slowly carrying Iggy through the air. They will slowly descend as they travel, and will glide until the input is released, Iggy touches the ground, or inputs an attack.

Way to run! (まんまと逃げてやったぜ)

Iggy runs away from the opponent. His run speed while running away is slower than it is when he runs towards opponents.

Aerial Chain Beat (空中チェーンビート)

While in mid-air, Iggy can chain his aerial normal attacks together in order of increasing power, much like any other character could on the ground.

Passive

An effect exclusive to Iggy as the smallest character in the game: Iggy automatically deflects any attempts to Throw him. However, he will still take the damage from the Throw in the form of white health that can be regained after a certain amount of time if Iggy successfully avoids being hit. He can also still be thrown by character-specific command throws. While in User Mode, Iggy will take chip damage from normal attacks, and his guard gauge will not recover. He also has one of the fastest movement speeds in the game.

Rumble Mode (ゴゴゴモード)

Activates below 30% health

This mode is automatically activated once Iggy falls below 30% health. It increases his attack power, as well as the rate at which the Heart Heat Gauge rises, while also decreasing the rate at which the Guard Gauge drops.

Iggy leaps forward in an upwards arc, aimed at the opponent's head. If he connects, he'll chew on their hair and fart in their face before jumping off, dealing damage and leaving them crumpling to the ground. The distance Iggy leaps increases in order, but the greater the increase, the more vulnerable Iggy becomes. This skill can be used while in mid-air, changing its attack type, and can be used to cancel "Hang Glider". (Comboable)

DIO Doppelganger (ニセのＤＩＯ)

Iggy generates a sand clone of Shadow DIO that runs forward to attack with a multi-hitting melee strike before dispersing. The first hit of the strike crumples the opponent while the second one launches them into the air. The distance the doppelganger runs and damage dealt increases in order, but the greater the increase, the more vulnerable Iggy becomes. If the variant is used, the doppelganger will perform two multi-hitting strikes, with the second strike launching the opponent away. The clone can be destroyed if it is hit by the opponent. (Flash Cancel comboable)

The variant causes a groundbounce after launching the opponent into the air. This is a Stand Rush skill that Iggy can disconnect from to attack the opponent while it is executing. The Fool delivers an upward strike with its two front limbs. This skill knocks the opponent into the air on hit and is capable of reflecting non-HHA/GHA projectiles. The number of hits, and therefore damage, increases in order, but the greater the increase, the more vulnerable Iggy becomes. This is a Stand Rush skill that Iggy can disconnect from to attack the opponent while it is executing. (Comboable)

The Fool cloaks itself around Iggy while mimicking his appearance to appear natural and strikes a pose. If it is struck by a non-HHA/GHA melee attack, "Ha ha, sucker!" will automatically be triggered. The startup decreases in order, but the shorter the startup, the longer the recovery. If the counter is not triggered, Iggy will be forced into User Mode.

Activates when "Too easy!" is successfully triggered

If the opponent's non-HHA/GHA melee attack hits Iggy while "Too easy!" is in effect, The Fool bursts into sand, protecting Iggy and sending them flying while dealing damage if in-range. (Flash Cancel comboable)
Unlike other counterattacks, if the opponent is quick enough, it is possible for them to Flash Cancel and guard or otherwise be missed by the counterattack, even if they trigger it pointblank, though the timing is tight if they are not prepared.

If performing a forward-throw, The Fool holds the opponent's legs in place as Iggy jumps off of the Stand to kick them away with all four of his legs.
If back-throwing, The Fool grabs the opponent's legs and Iggy jumps on The Fool's back before it wheels around the opponent, using its momentum to knock them off balance. Iggy then jumps off of the Stand's back to kick them away with all four of his legs.

Snarling, Iggy creates a wave of sand on the ground that rapidly travels forward with him inside. If it connects, The Fool manifests and lifts the opponent high into the air before forcefully piledriving them into the ground as Iggy wakes up from a brief nap. This HHA is capable of hitting a downed opponent.

Iggy gnashes his teeth as The Fool generates a massive sand wave in a large area in front of him. If it connects, The Fool manifests itself and transforms into its glider form to knock the opponent into the air. It then transforms into sand and blasts the airborne opponent with sand spikes, followed by a sharp wheel attack before spiking them towards the ground. The Fool then rushes downward before Iggy himself bursts out of the Stand, diving towards the opponent from above and biting them on the nose (similar to his victory over Pet Shop).

In his alternate costume, the animation for this attack slightly changes: instead of biting the opponent's nose, he will clamp onto their head and fart in their face before kicking off (reenacting his initial encounter with Polnareff).

A two-stock assist. Iggy runs in and summons the Fool to rush forward in a shoulder charge, knocking the opponent into the air and bouncing them off the ground if it lands. He then dismisses his Stand and poses before running back off-screen.

However, it no longer has invulnerability on startup, meaning it no longer works well as a reversal.

DIO Doppelganger

ON GROUND

The Fool's DIO Doppelganger will no longer attack twice unless the variant is used, and when it is, the first attack is now a High rather than a Middle. This also means that the first attack now launches opponents, that way, all variants will still launch. However, because of this, the variant launches the opponent twice, with the first attack launching them at a steep upward angle while the second launches them away from Iggy into a hard knockdown. Additionally, the DIO Doppelganger's first attack deals more hits, with it dealing two for the and variants, and three for the variant. All these changes result in the attack dealing varying damage now based on the attack button inputted rather than staying the same across all variants. The Doppelganger's forward travel distance also now varies based on the attack button inputted rather than staying the same.

When hit by this skill, opponents are now knocked into the air instead of to the ground, making it possible to combo off a successful hit. The number of hits also now increases based on what attack button is inputted. Additionally, this skill can now be Stand Rushed.

Instead of being a counter that remains active until it is triggered or otherwise deactivated, it is a counter that stays active for a set amount of time. As such, Iggy is no longer able to act while the skill is active and will instead strike a pose for the duration. It also means that the counter can no longer be triggered while Iggy is airborne.

Ha ha, sucker!

Activates when "Too easy!" is successfully triggered

This counterattack now deals damage and leaves Iggy in Stand Mode rather than User Mode.

When the attack is whiffed, Iggy's forward momentum will continue until he hits the stage wall or is otherwise stopped by the opponent instead of stopping once The Fool, along with the hitbox, disappears. His momentum is enough that if the opponent does not hit Iggy to stop his momentum, he will push them to the stage wall. This does not change his recovery time.
