  • Steven Steel (18) leaves the hospital after two years, quits the cavalry and joins a circus as a part-time worker.[8]

  • April 23, the newspapers announce the arrestation of Baron Rippi from the Kingdom of Naples for conspiration against the King. His family and servants, including Marco, are arrested and sentenced to death.[30]
  • Early May, Gyro leaves Italy.[31]
  • May 22, Gyro reaches the USA.[31]
  • September 25 at 10AM, the Steel Ball Run race begins.[32] Gyro wins the 1st STAGE after 18 minutes and 7 seconds but is demoted, making Sandman the winner with a time of 18 minutes and 9 seconds.[33]
  • September 26 10AM, 2nd STAGE begins.[34]
  • October 14 at around 5:24 PM, Diego Brando wins the 2nd STAGE after 18 days, 7 hours, and 24 minutes.[35]
  • October 19 at around 3:15 AM, Hot Pants wins the 3rd STAGE after 5 days, 9 hours, 51 minutes, and 42 seconds. Johnny gets second place after 5 days, 11 hours, 4 minutes, and 21 seconds.[36]
  • October 30, 11th day of the 4th STAGE, deaths of Gaucho and Ringo Roadagain.[37]
  • November 9 at around 10:25 AM, Norisuke Higashikata I wins the 4th STAGE after 21 days, 7 hours, 10 minutes, and 13 seconds.[38]
  • November 23 at around 12:36 PM, Pocoloco wins the 5th STAGE after 14 days, 2 hours, 11 minutes, and 5 seconds.[39]
  • December 6 at around 7:01 PM, Gyro wins the 6th stage.[40]
  • December 23, Wekapipo tells Gyro and Johnny about "Lucy's" death and burial.[41]
  • December 28 afternoon:
    • Steven Steel is shot[42]
    • Lucy is unmasked and impregnated with the Holy Corpse's head
    • Magent Magent sinks to the bottom of Delaware river.[43]
    • ~3:06PM, Diego wins the 7th stage after 21 days, 8 hours, 5 minutes, and 11 seconds.[40]
    • 3:51PM, Gyro and Johnny complete the 7th stage of the race at Philadelphia.[44]
    • 4:13PM Johnny is shot.[45]

  • January 19, Diego Brando (20), Hot Pants (23), Gyro Zeppeli (24), Funny Valentine (43) all die. At 6:33:12 AM, Parallel World Diego wins the Steel Ball Run race, but is killed by Lucy before he can claim his prize. Sloop John B wins the Final STAGE. Pocoloco becomes the overall winner of the race, with Norisuke Higashikata I in second place.[47]
  • SBR hat brand is founded.[48]
