Yotsuyu Yagiyama
Yotsuyu Yagiyama (八木山 夜露, Yagiyama Yotsuyu) is a secondary antagonist featured in the eighth part of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, JoJolion. He is shown at the end of the Paper Moon Deception story arc and fully introduced in the "Norisuke Higashikata, Tsurugi Higashikata, and Yotsuyu Yagiyama" story arc.
He is an architect who worked on the Higashikata Family mansion and the baseball stadium where Aisho Dainenjiyama works.[9]
Yotsuyu is revealed to be a Rock Human with a stolen name, belonging to a Locacaca Organization. He attacks Josuke Higashikata in order to finish off Josuke's previous identity. Yotsuyu is a Stand user who wields the Stand I Am a Rock.
Appearance
Yagiyama is a Rock Human of slim build and average to above-average height. He claims to be 28 years old. He has shoulder-length, straight black hair with short bangs. His eyes are black with small triangular highlights.
He wears a headpiece of leaves and a collar with a pin bearing the letter H. His arms, stomach, and legs are clad in a dark, leathery material studded with small metallic spikes. Over this, he wears a crop top and a pair of floral-printed bloomers. Attached to his belt is a small pouch.

Personality
Yotsuyu Yagiyama is an ambitious and ruthless Rock Human.
Yotsuyu states that above all he desires social status[8] and at one point even declares his intention to steal Norisuke Higashikata IV's fortune.[10]
He is quite ruthless and calculating, as he repeatedly takes underhanded measures to fulfill his goals. As Josuke states, Yotsuyu is the type of person who will attack innocent people in order to show he is serious about his threats. For instance, during his first appearance, Yotsuyu waterboards Yasuho Hirose to force her to bring out her Stand,[11] later taking her hostage to use her as bait and draw Josuke out into the open.[12] He also demonstrates manipulative prowess when exploiting Tsurugi's fear of his family's disease in order to coerce him into assisting in trapping Josuke.[13] As a member of the Locacaca Organization, Yotsuyu shows a vested interest in the Locacaca and notably sought to kill Josuke Higashikata,[8] the amnesiac being a loose end who knows the fruit's secret.
Yotsuyu also demonstrates a tendency for tactical thinking and analyzing a fight. He frequently uses chess metaphors[14] and openly analyzes the situation to assert who has the advantage in combat.[15] However, when Josuke outsmarts him and forces him to either drown or reveal information about the Locacaca Organization,[16] Yotsuyu prefers to perform a last-ditch attack and sacrifice his life.[17]
Despite his ruthlessness and the natural sociopathy of Rock Humans, Yotsuyu seemed to have a genuine friendship with Aisho, and Aisho recalls the architect in a positive and helpful light. Yagiyama woke up Aisho to save him from being killed when his house was demolished, and was sympathetic and supportive of the more naive Aisho after he found out his girlfriend had betrayed him.[18]
Yotsuyu has a particular opinion about Stands that are controlled unconsciously, finding them to be the "cutest, nicest kind."[19]
Abilities
Stand
When Yotsuyu touches someone, the victim begins to naturally attract specific objects toward them. Additionally, Yotsuyu is able to attract rocks to himself to cause damage to people or objects close to him.
Rock Physiology
While similar to a human's, Yotsuyu's body can change into a rock-like form. Because of this, he does not need to sleep or rest. He can mimic rocks to the point that he becomes indistinguishable from them. Norisuke theorizes that Yotsuyu's physiology requires him to have at least a small amount of skin respiration; in the absence of such, his body structure will begin to break down as a result of being less structurally stable than an ordinary human's.
Eye Fluid Membrane
Yotsuyu is able to produce a transparent and flexible membrane from his eyes, which he uses to waterboard Yasuho. It is unclear whether this is a trait that all Rock Humans possess, or whether I Am a Rock enables this ability.
History
Background
Yotsuyu was born a nameless Rock Human. Although his youth is undisclosed, he managed to steal the identity of a young man named "Yotsuyu Yagiyama" and become an architect. He is said to have been one of Jobin Higashikata's friends in college.[20] Yotsuyu was hired to build the Higashikata House for Norisuke in 2010,[20] as well as the Higashikata Fruit Company's parlor[7] and the renovated Morioh Stadium. At the same time, he worked as Tamaki Damo's underling in the Locacaca Organization. At one point, Yotsuyu approached Jobin Higashikata to enlist him in the organization.
At some point before the events of JoJolion, Yotsuyu informed Aisho Dainenjiyama of his girlfriend's betrayal, and it is implied that the two were at least acquainted with each another beforehand.
On August 19, 2011, Yotsuyu, alongside Tamaki Damo, confronted Josefumi Kujo and Yoshikage Kira, who had stolen a Locacaca branch from the organization. After both escaped, Yotsuyu was ordered by Tamaki to conduct a search in order to corner the thieves. After witnessing the A. Phex Brothers' deaths, Yotsuyu was driven away by the approaching earthquake and tsunami.[21][a]

Battle with the Higashikatas
Learning about the duo's survival in an amnesiac man dubbed "Josuke", Yotsuyu decides to eliminate the latter. He meets Tsurugi Higashikata and, by feeding the Locacaca to a dog, succeeds in tricking the young boy into helping him lure Josuke out into the open.
Yotsuyu Yagiyama later appears within the secret room below the Higashikata estate as Yasuho Hirose sleeps. He produces a transparent membrane from his eyes to suffocate her in an attempt to draw out Paisley Park and examine it. Once Paisley Park manifests, he uses his Stand to trap it in place and analyze its ability. Yotsuyu reveals that he is an architect scouting out interesting properties such as the secret room, and states his intention to eliminate Josuke. Yasuho, in a last-ditch attempt to free herself, manages to fold an origami of a bunch of bananas, which she successfully uses alongside Tsurugi's Paper Moon King to trip the architect. Yotsuyu falls onto shards of broken glass that Yasuho had tried to use earlier to cut the film on her face. In the confusion, the architect mysteriously disappears as Yasuho frees herself from the membrane.
Later, Yotsuyu assaults Josuke and Norisuke as they attempt to gain access to the basement by touching Josuke's foot and activating his Stand. Large flower pots begin accelerating towards him as the architect watches from the entrance, surprised Josuke would return to the location just to die again. When the two manage to avoid the flower pot shards, Yotsuyu activates his Stand a second time, this time summoning chestnuts toward the duo.
"I Am a Rock"
When Josuke and Norisuke escape inside the cellar, Yotsuyu resorts to kidnapping Yasuho from inside the basement cellar and dragging her through a hidden fault in the roof caused by the earthquake. Josuke and Norisuke follow him by using the latter's King Nothing to track Yasuho's scent. Yotsuyu sets her down among rocks close to the shoreline and hides, intending to catch the two by surprise by blending into his surroundings. This ambush allows him to use his Stand a third time and attract pesticide containers toward Josuke, hoping for the containers to burst and allow the liquid to seep into his skin and poison him.
Josuke's response is to encase Yotsuyu in a large soap bubble, intending to carry him off and drop him into the sea. However, Yotsuyu is able to attract several nearby rocks towards himself in order to pop the bubble and escape, thinking he has foiled Josuke's plan. Josuke then reveals that he was merely positioning Yotsuyu closer to the shore, allowing him to use his soap bubbles to push the architect into the sea. Josuke attempts to force information out of Yotsuyu while underwater, preventing him from surfacing by wrapping his body in nets Norisuke salvaged from the shoreline. However, Yotsuyu's Rock Human physiology causes his body to break down and die, having become incapable of skin respiration. As his body breaks apart, Josuke spots a mysterious fruit floating away from the architect's pocket and disappearing into the ocean current.

Notes
- ↑ Yotsuyu claims to have murdered Josefumi between two rocks, and that he would've stayed dead if not for Kira. However this is retconned later when it is shown that he had no direct hand in their deaths.
