Melone (メローネ, Merōne) est un antagoniste secondaire de la cinquième partie de JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Vento Aureo, apparaissant dans l'arc narratif "Baby Face".
Melone est un membre de la Squadra Esecuzioni. Alors que la Team Buccellati est forcée de marcher sur les routes, il déploie son Stand automatique Baby Face pour kidnapper discrètement Trish Una et combat Giorno, qui surprend Baby Face.
Apparence
Melone est un jeune homme à la carrure fine et de taille moyenne. Il a de longs cheveux raides qui lui descendent jusqu'aux épaules, avec notamment une frange qui pend devant le côté droit du visage.
La tenue de Melone est inspiré des costumes qu'on voit au Carnaval de Venise.[1] Melone a des vêtement assez distinctifs. En effet, il porte une combinaison moulante avec bottines incluses qui recouvre la majorité de son corps. Cependant, il est troué sur le côté droite du torse et de l'estomac, exposant son corps, bien que quelques bandes de tissus horizontales et verticales maintiennent la combinaison sur lui. La combinaison elle-même est décoré avec un motif de cercles concentriques, et les deux bracelets aux jambes ont le même motif, avec des boucles en anneau. Ses gants sont assortis à sa tenue. Enfin, Meloen porte une sorte de masque-bandeau semi transparent qui lui serre la terre, troué pour laisser son oeil gauche découvert.

Personnalité
Melone shows himself to be a polite man in most circumstances. Approaching every activity with cold professionalism, he physically inspects his future victims, looking them more like cattle to breed his Stand than fellow human beings. The TV anime also emphasizes his lustful side, showing him openly licking his lips in delight as he observes a beautiful woman's legs and feet, something his teammates are humorously disturbed by.
Melone always reacts jovially when circumstances match or exceed his expectations, exclaiming himself "Di Molto!" On the other side, when things do not go his way, he becomes nervous, still remaining cool-headed enough to issue tactical instructions, likely due to the fact that he is not the one facing immediate danger.
Melone is one of the least confrontational enemy Stand Users in the series, favoring hit-and-run tactics or laying traps, never reacting with violence to every setback, and even advising his Stand to flee instead of continuing to fight.

Histoire
Passé
Melone est un membre de l'équipe d'assassins travaillant pour Passione, la Squadra Esecuzioni. Auparavant, ils étaient neuf. L'équipe était alors frustrée car ils ne recevaient leur paye qu'à chaque contrat clôt, alors que d'autres équipes géraient un territoire et gagnaient plus d'argent. Un jour, Sorbet et Gelato se décidèrent à enquêter sur le Boss mais disparurent soudainement. L'équipe se mit à les rechercher et on trouva alors Gelato dans sa maison, ligoté et étouffé par son baillon. Il y avait aussi un morceau de papier sur lui où on avait écrit le mot "Punition". Plus tard, la Squadra reçut des colis et ils découvrirent avec horreur qu'on avait découpé Sorbet en morceaux et mis son corps dans du formaldéhyde. Cette exécution élaborée servait à montrer la toute puissance du Boss et le sort qui attendaient les rebelles. Les assassin désespéraient de pouvoir tenir tête au Boss. Cependant, ils entendirent alors de Donatella Una et sa fille Trish, respectivement l'ancienne amante et la fille du Boss. Ils ses mirent en tête d'essayer de capturer Trish, pensant qu'elle pourrait être la clé pour deviner le pouvoir Stand du Boss. La Squadra Esecuzioni se rebella ouvertement et commencèrent à chasser Trish. Alors que le capo Pericolo avait mis Trish en sécurité, les assassins fouillèrent la maison de Trish pour trouver des indices, manquant ironiquement une photo de Donatella que le Boss lui-même avait prise.
L'adaptation animée s'étend un peu plus sur ce qu'il a fait. La nuit où Sorbet et Gelato ont disparus, il était en mission avec Formaggio, Pesci et Prosciutto. Il n'a rien fait de particulier si ce n'est convoiter la femme de la cible en regardant ses jambes. Il s'est léché les babines en l'observant, ce qui a perturbé ses camarades.
Vento Aureo
Melone is first shown collecting a blood sample left from Bruno Bucciarati's battle with Prosciutto and Pesci for the Homonculus Materialization of his Stand, Baby Face. He later finds a woman while on a train and proceeds to examine her. Her bad temper, selfishness and overall incompatibility with Bucciarati makes her the ideal mother for Baby Face's child and thus he summons Baby Face to do its deed. He then leaves for another empty wagon, supervising Baby Face's growth. Once the homonculus is born, he then educates it to kill off Bucciarati's group and capture Trish Una. It surpasses his expectation and leaves for its target before it is ready, but Melone decides to trust in it.
When Baby Face locates Team Bucciarati and launches its attack within Coco Jumbo, Melone is seen giving it orders from his computer. However, Melone's plan inadvertently causes Giorno Giovanna to not only deal damage to Baby Face, but its ability allowed him to discover Gold Experience's indispensable ability to repair injuries through its basic life-giving power. Melone eventually loses control of Baby Face, who proceeds to act independently and ends up nearly burning to death.
After the defeat of his Stand, he's called by Ghiaccio about the wreckage. Ironically, before he could generate another homunculus incidence of Baby Face, a cube portion of his burning Stand finds its way back to him as a venomous snake animated by Giorno and bites his tongue, killing him off-panel.

Dans le roman JORGE JOESTAR, une version alternative de Melone vit dans le 37ème univers, ayant une apparence similaire. Il n'est pas vraiment mentionné mais apparaît tout de même dans une illustration.
Nero Nero Island, where the base of Passione is located, suddenly grows legs and starts moving through the ocean headed toward Morioh. Some ordinary citizens panic and attempt to escape at the island's harbor. Melone, Cioccolata37, Secco37, Prosciutto37, Pesci37, and Ghiaccio37 ambush and murder them. Secco's Evil Dead conceals the harbor, making their actions invisible to those within the island, such as Bruno Bucciarati37. One man manages to escape and tries waving desperately toward Morioh for help before he is killed as well.
The Mafia members move the bodies out of sight by dropping the bodies in the water between the boats, or by tossing them into the tall grass by the side of the road to the harbor. Nero Nero Island suddenly crashes into the barrier surrounding Morioh and flips upward. Its propulsion causes it to tear through the barrier and lands into Morioh Harbor. Cioccolata and the others start firing bullets and rocket launchers at random civilians and houses in Morioh, attempting to shoot Jorge Joestar as well when he runs by underneath them. The mafia members then jump off the island and head to Budogaoka gymnasium with several weapons.[2]
