L'Homme X (男X, Otoko X) est un personnage tertiaire de la cinquième partie de JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Vento Aureo.
L'Homme X est un gangster que Giorno Giovanna a sauvé alors qu'il était un petit garçon. Reconnaissant, ce ganster est le premier homme qui a traité Giorno comme un être humain et il a eu un grand rôle dans le développement émotionnel du garçon.
Apparence
L'Homme X est un homme adulte italien, avec une carrure athlétique. Il a de long cheveux noirs ondulés qui lui tombent sur les épaules. Ses yeux sont cachés dans l'ombre, lui donnant un air mystérieux. Il porte un costume de gangster typique avec un fedora.

Personnalité
L'Homme X est un individu mystérieux dont on parle peu. Lorsqu'il l'a vu, Giorno a senti que cet homme était comme lui un être solitaire et mélancholique. Même s'il était un gangster, cet homme avec un sens aigu de la justice et a voulu repayer sa dette de vie envers Giorno. Bien qu'il prenait surtout ses distances avec Giorno, il traitait le petit garçon avec respect, ce qui a en fait appris à Giorno l'importance de faire confiance aux gens. Il a essayé d'éloigner Giorno du monde de la pègre mais il a tout de même servi de modèle à Giorno qui deviendra lui aussi un criminel épris de justice.[1]
L'adaptation animée de Golden Wind s'étend plus sur le personnage en lui donnant des scènes exclusives. L'Homme X semble avoir été un membre respecté par la communauté locale, sinon craint. En effet, après que Giorno l'ai sauvé, l'Homme a fait en sorte que son père arrête de le battre, les marchands qui appréciait l'homme faisaient des cadeaux à Giorno et les brutes qui victimisaient Giorno se sont mis à bien le traiter. Cependant, l'Homme X usait aussi de la violence et a par exemple tué un homme sous les yeux de son fils parce que le père vendait de la drogue aux femmes et aux enfants. Il a aussi fait face au fils qui le tenait en joue avec un pistolet et n'a pas flanché. Giorno hérite des mêmes opinions sur la drogues et ambitionne bientôt de devenir un gangster qui pourrait débarrasser l'Italie du trafic de drogue et protéger la population.[2]
Histoire
Man X is first shown hiding in an alley from a group of suspicious-looking men, severely injured with gunshot wounds. When Giorno Giovanna was walking home from school as a child, he finds the man lying on the ground. Soon after that, the group of men ask Giorno if he saw the man running away. Giorno saves the man by lying and unconsciously using his Stand, making grass grow long enough to hide the man's body. Giorno believed the man looked lonely and melancholic, just like he did. The man turns out to be a gangster and promises to repay the child for saving his life.
Soon after that, Giorno's Stepfather stops hitting him and the kids that bullied him at school start being surprisingly friendly, such as giving up their seats to him in crowded movie theaters. The man only quietly watches over Giorno from afar but Giorno learns the importance of trusting people from this complete stranger.[1]
The anime adds a scene of Man X shooting someone in an alley and then speaking with his partner afterwards. Giorno sees him and runs up to him, but the man silently walks away. Just then, a boy runs up to them and points a gun at the man, shouting that the gangster killed his father. Man X explains that he killed the boy's father because he was scum who was selling drugs to women and children on his turf. The boy attempts to shoot him but fails, and breaks down crying thinking that the gangster is also scum. Man X then walks away, inspiring Giorno.[2]
Despite the gangster taking a strict position that Giorno shouldn't get involved in the gang world, Giorno aspires to become a gang-star as he grows up and later joins Passione.[1]
