Based on the script by Itaru Era, both paperback and bunkoban novelizations were released alongside the movie on July 19, 2017, the former written by Tatsuya Hamasaki and the latter by Hanomakimi.

Summary

The peaceful town of Morioh is currently plagued by a number of unexplained murders. Josuke Higashikata and Koichi Hirose, both second-year high school students at Budogaoka High School get involved with this plot when they encounter mass murderer Anjuro Katagiri who is connected to a string of murders and once escaped police custody. Before his arrest, Katagiri suddenly developed a strange power after being struck by an arrow wielded by a mysterious teenager.

Josuke and Koichi first encounter Katagiri when they discover a thug has taken a cashier hostage, controlled by a water creature that emerges from his mouth. The creature is invisible to everyone except Josuke and manages to escape before he can get a better look, meanwhile Katagiri watches from the shadows.

Josuke later meets with Jotaro Kujo, who tells him that he is Josuke’s nephew, and that Josuke is the illegitimate son of Joseph Joestar. Jotaro came to Morioh in order to warn Josuke that the murders in this town are being caused by another Stand user, like them. Jotaro then explains that both of them are Stand users, meaning they can manifest psychic powers invisible to normal people. Josuke realizes that the water creature he saw in the mouth of the thug must have been a Stand.

Katagiri later uses his Stand to attack the Higashikata household, and murders Ryohei Higashikata, Josuke’s grandfather. Josuke and Jotaro both arrive at the scene but are too late to save Ryohei. Coming face to face with Katagiri's Stand, Aqua Necklace, they outsmart it by trapping it inside a rubber glove. They confront the Stand user, and Josuke uses his Stand, Crazy Diamond, to trap Katagiri in a rock for eternity.

After his grandfather’s funeral, Josuke is accompanied by Koichi as they follow a mysterious teenager who lurks nearby. They follow him to a derelict house, owned by the Nijimura Family, where Josuke engages in battle with Okuyasu, the younger Nijimura, while Koichi is shot in the neck by an arrow wielded by Keicho, the eldest.

Koichi is dragged into the house, and Josuke is forced to follow him inside, now coming face to face with Keicho’s Stand, the army of toy soldiers known collectively as Bad Company. Okuyasu assists Josuke in rescuing Koichi as thanks for healing him with his Stand earlier, which leads them to discover that Koichi too has developed a Stand thanks to the arrow. The three of them come together to explore the mansion, only to discover a monster chained up in the attic.

Keicho reappears with the Bow and Arrow and explains that the monster is his own father, transformed into an immortal abomination, and that his goal is to create Stand users with the bow to seek a Stand power capable of granting his father’s death. Josuke repairs pieces of a photograph of the Nijimura family he found in the attic, which the monstrous Nijimura Father takes and holds dearly, demonstrating that a lingering trace of their father remains.

Josuke offers his help to find a way of healing the Nijimura father, but even after Okuyasu insists, Keicho refuses to hand over the Bow and Arrow, saying that he's gone too far to stop now.

Suddenly, a miniature tank crashes through the window and attacks Okuyasu. Keicho tries to save his brother, but is ultimately killed in an explosion caused by the tank.

Okuyasu mourns the loss of his brother, and Josuke meets again with Jotaro, swearing to continue his grandfather's work of protecting the town. Josuke, Koichi and Okuyasu then become friends and comrade in arms.

Meanwhile, in a house somewhere in Morioh, there lies a cupboard full of 3rd place trophies, bottled nails, and a severed hand holding the Arrow.
