Kosaku Kawajiri (川尻 浩作, Kawajiri Kōsaku) was confirmed to return for All-Star Battle R during the game's initial announcement trailer.[1]
His moveset is fundamentally the same as his from All-Star Battle, with a few tweaks being made to both balance the character and fit him into the overall gameplay tweaks that All-Star Battle R brought.
In the English localization of the game, Kosaku's Stand, Killer Queen, is localized as "Deadly Queen", carried on from its All-Star Battle debut.
Replacing Kosaku's previous voice actor, Rikiya Koyama, is Toshiyuki Morikawa, who has voiced him since the Diamond is Unbreakable anime adaptation. Because of this, and like the majority of the game's roster, voicelines for Kosaku were either added or re-recorded.
Kosaku has 900 health and uses the Stand (スタンド, Sutando) Battle Style, fighting foes with Killer Queen. During a fight, he can use various move from his appearance in Diamond is Unbreakable.
Kosaku briefly summons Killer Queen to stab outward with both of its hands. The first hit causes a crumple, and either hit can be cancelled into skills.

Style/Specials/Etc. [Stand Off] (スタイル/特殊技/その他)
Stand On/Off (スタンドON/OFF, Sutando ON/OFF)
ON GROUND
Switches between User Mode and Stand Mode. Doing so summons or dismisses Killer Queen, altering the skills Kosaku has access to.
Only one bomb at a time
Passive
Killer Queen may not have more than one bomb out at a time. If Kosaku performs any skill that would create a new bomb, any existing bomb is overwritten and nullified.
Rumble Mode (ゴゴゴモード, Gogogo Mōdo)
Activates when under 30% health
This mode is automatically activated once Kosaku falls below 30% health. It increases his attack power, as well as the rate at which the Heart Heat Gauge rises, while also decreasing the rate at which the Guard Gauge drops.
Skills [Stand Off] (コマンド技)
Impact Ignition Bomb [☆]
+ // ON GROUND
Kosaku summons Killer Queen and Stray Cat to fire an air bomb that is manually detonated. Kosaku himself remains stationary until the bomb is detonated or the skill is interrupted. The trajectory of the air bomb created is determined by the attack button inputted.
Light (): The air bomb travels straight forward.
Medium (): The air bomb travels at a 45 degree angle upward.
Heavy (): The air bomb travels at a steeper upward angle, almost directly up.
These bombs deals 50% of the Guard Gauge, cannot be reflected, are unaffected by opposing projectiles and traps, and produce large explosions that cannot be jumped over. However, Kosaku is completely vulnerable while he is controlling the air bomb, and the bomb disappears as soon as he is hit.
Attack type: High Damage: 160
Ignition
(While a ☆ skill is in effect) + // ON GROUND WHEN DOWNED
Kosaku immediately detonates any bombs created by skills marked with a star (☆) that may be out at the moment. These skill's bombs can be used to hit a downed opponent. If too close to the blast, Kosaku himself will take damage as well.
Trajectory Change
2 ATK Buttons during "Impact Ignition Bomb" ON GROUND
With his mental math skills, Kosaku can manually correct the trajectory of an in-flight "Impact Ignition Bomb" should the opponent have moved out of its path, instantly changing its direction in order to once more send it towards them. This can be done a maximum of three times, but every time the trajectory is changed, the air bomb will shrink, though its speed will increase slightly.
I'll have to fight it out!
+ // ON GROUND
Kosaku briefly summons Killer Queen to rush forward in a barrage of punches, pushing and launching the opponent away. The damage and the distance Killer Queen moves forward increases in order, but the greater the increase, the longer the recovery. Although this move is a punch rush-style of attack, Kosaku cannot actually initiate Rush Mode, and a similar move by other opponents will easily overpower Killer Queen. (Flash Cancel comboable)
Attack type: High Damage: 50 / 55 / 60
This stone is a bomb! [☆]
+ // ON GROUND WHEN DOWNED TRAP
Kosaku briefly summons Killer Queen to place a small stone primed with the first bomb a distance in front of him on the ground. The explosion from the stone launches the opponent into the air. The distance in front of Kosaku that Killer Queen places the bomb increases in order, but the greater the increase, the longer the recovery. (Comboable) The stone can either be manually detonated or will automatically detonate if the opponent touches the stone. To hit a downed opponent, the explosion must be manually triggered. If too close to the stone when detonated, Kosaku will be damaged. The bomb will disappear after a time if it is not detonated or if another skill that creates a bomb is used.

Stand On/Off (スタンドON/OFF, Sutando ON/OFF)
ON GROUND
Switches between User Mode and Stand Mode. Doing so summons or dismisses Killer Queen, altering the skills Kosaku has access to.
I'll crush you!
+ ON GROUND
Kosaku briefly summons Killer Queen to stomp on the opponent. This attack can hit downed opponents, but if it hits a standing opponent, it will launch them. This skill is a command normal that can combo into Kosaku's other skills. (Comboable)
Though this move is identical to the original Kira's "It's your fate to be defeated" skill, its name implies it to be the stomp Killer Queen attempted to use on Stray Cat during their first encounter.
Attack type: Middle Damage: 35
Only one bomb at a time
Passive
Killer Queen may not have more than one bomb out at a time. If Kosaku performs any skill that would create a new bomb, any existing bomb is overwritten and nullified.
Rumble Mode (ゴゴゴモード, Gogogo Mōdo)
Activates when under 30% health
This mode is automatically activated once Kosaku falls below 30% health. It increases his attack power, as well as the rate at which the Heart Heat Gauge rises, while also decreasing the rate at which the Guard Gauge drops.
Skills [Stand On] (コマンド技)
Contact Bomb [☆]
+ // ON GROUND WHEN DOWNED
Killer Queen fires an air bomb that will automatically explode on-contact with the opponent. However, the bomb can still be manually detonated if "Ignition" is used. Kosaku can move after a short recovery period once the bomb is launched. The speed of the bomb created increases in order, but the greater the increase, the longer the recovery. This bomb deals 50% of the Guard Gauge. (Comboable). This skill is a Stand Rush skill that Kosaku can disconnect from to freely act while it is executing, including moving away from the bomb. However, Killer Queen remains at risk of being caught in the explosion if Kosaku uses Stand Rush in an attempt to escape a close-ranged blast. If Kosaku is hit by the blast, he will recover faster than his opponent.
Attack type: High Damage: 120
The First Bomb [☆]
+ // ON GROUND
Killer Queen channels its power into its index finger before chopping downward. If the opponent is touched, even if they are block the attack, they themselves are turned into a bomb. Kosaku can then detonate the opponent at any time, including when they're on the ground, dealing heavy damage. The distance forward Killer Queen moves increases in order, but the greater the increase, the longer the startup. A Stand Rush skill that Kosaku can disconnect from to freely act while it is executing. If Kosaku is knocked down, the bomb will be canceled.
Attack type: High Damage: 20 (chop) / 90 (explosion)
Air Bomb Cushion
(While guarding) + 2 ATK Buttons for ½ HH ON GROUND
When guarding against attacks, Stray Cat creates an air cushion between Kosaku and the opponent, pushing them away from him. If the opponent is in the air when this skill is activated, instead of being pushed away, the opponent will instead be knocked to the ground. This skill costs half a bar of the Heart Heat Gauge. The recovery can be Flash Canceled.
Attack type: High
Throw (投げ技)
Can I ask your name?
2 ATK buttons near opponent or ( to back-throw) ON GROUND
Kosaku grabs the opponent and explodes them in his hand as he lightly throws them. The animation changes slightly based on which direction the opponent is thrown. If they are thrown forward, Kosaku pushes them away from him as they explode. If they are back-thrown, Kosaku tosses them to the ground behind him as they explode, stepping away as he does so.
Attack type: Throw Damage: 120
Heart Heat Attack / Great Heat Attack (HHA / GHA)
Stray Cat's protecting me now!
+ 2 ATK Buttons
ON GROUND
Killer Queen exposes Stray Cat and moves in front of Kosaku, resulting in an air bubble cushion being created. If Killer Queen is struck with a non-Throw/HHA/GHA melee attack, the opponent will be repelled and knocked to the ground. Kosaku will take the opportunity to send out the completely invisible air bubble towards them, now primed as an air bomb. Using his math knowledge, Kosaku correctly predicts where the air bomb is and detonates it at the right moment, blowing his opponent up. He is then left at the center of the stage, regardless of where the counter was activated. While the two hits of this counter do not combo together traditionally, they are inescapable once the counter is activated.
Attack type: Counter Damage: 220
Bites the Dust
+ 3 ATK Buttons or
ON GROUND
Kosaku brings out Hayato with Killer Queen's Third Bomb attached to him, who then then runs away in fear with Killer Queen following closely. If Hayato bumps into the opponent, they will be stunned by his sudden interference as he begins to panic, only for them to see Killer Queen in their left eye. The Stand promptly detonates its third bomb, initiating a temporal loop as Kosaku gleefully celebrates the bomb's success. Bites the Dust is easily dodged/sidestepped/jumped over as Hayato will only slowly run a short distance in front of Kosaku before suddenly sprinting the other way and off the battlefield. This GHA inflicts the lowest damage of any in the game, but has many advantages to offset the low damage. If successful, this GHA adds 10 counts to the battle timer and restores a portion of Kosaku's health that is dependent on the amount of Heart Heat consumed. Kosaku and his opponent are also reset to their round-start positions. In addition, the time-looping effect uniquely allows Bites the Dust to reverse a number of character-specific effects, including any round- or match-lasting abilities. The following effects will be reversed:
A two-stock assist. Kosaku lands in and summons Killer Queen to fire an air bomb that will automatically explode on-contact with the opponent. He then dismisses his Stand, poses, and jumps back off-screen.
Attack type: High Damage: 120
Reversal Assist (リバーサルアシスト, Ribāsaru Ashisuto)
ON GROUND
A one-stock assist. Kosaku jumps into the opponent as Killer Queen stabs down at them with its hand, knocking them away. He then dismisses his Stand, strikes a pose, and jumps back off-screen.
When Kosaku steps forward in his animation, he now actually stays moved forward slightly when he steps back rather than moving back and being in the same place he was when he started the attack.
Crouching Heavy Attack
+ ON GROUND
Killer Queen moves forward while attacking now rather than staying in the same place to perform its attack.
Skills [Stand Off] (コマンド技)
Impact Ignition Bomb [☆]
+ // ON GROUND
For the and variants of this skill, the projectile is much larger than it was in All-Star Battle, now being the same size across all variants. Instead of the air bomb always traveling straight, the button inputted now controls the trajectory of the projectile. As such, the speed and damage of the air bomb are no longer affected by the button inputted. Furthermore, the damage of the skill is significantly greater now, and it is not a single hitting attack, instead being three hits. While Kosaku can still be hit by the explosion of this skill, it no longer launches him, instead only dealing damage, which is also greater than it was in ASB. Additionally, the explosion from this skill is now a High rather than an Unblockable. As a trade off, this skill now deals heavy guard damage (50% of the bar).
Ignition
(While a ☆ skill is in effect) + // ON GROUND WHEN DOWNED
The input for this skill has been changed. Previously it was + 2 ATK Buttons in place of + //. Also, these bombs can now hit downed opponents.
Trajectory Change
2 ATK Buttons during "Impact Ignition Bomb" ON GROUND
The input for this skill has been changed. Previously it was + 2 ATK Buttons in place of 2 ATK Buttons. The number of times the trajectory of the air bomb can be changed has been standardized across versions to a maximum of three times, and suffers no damage penalty for doing so now. The speed increase when the trajectory is changed is less drastic than it was in All-Star Battle also, but this is more so due to the speed of the projectile being standardized to the fastest version.
I'll have to fight it out!
+ // ON GROUND
This skill now launches the opponent instead of causing a hard knockdown, which allows this skill to be Flash Canceled later and still combo. In addition, the number of hits has been reduced and standardized. Because of this, the attack is shorter and Killer Queen now moves forward more before starting its punch barrage in order to cover a similar distance.
This stone is a bomb! [☆]
+ // ON GROUND WHEN DOWNED TRAP
This skill is now a User Mode skill instead of only being available in Stand Mode. This skill can now be automatically triggered if a opponent touches the stone. Instead of launching the opponent across the stage, the skill now launches them into the air, allowing Kosaku to combo off of this skill.
Normals [Stand On] (通常技)
Standing Medium Attack
ON GROUND
Killer Queen now moves forward when attacking, giving this normal more range. This also results in this move having more pushback than it did in All-Star Battle.
Standing Heavy Attack
ON GROUND
Kosaku and Killer Queen move farther forward than they did in All-Star Battle.
Crouching Medium Attack
+ ON GROUND
This attack executes much faster than it did in All-Star Battle.
Crouching Heavy Attack
+ ON GROUND
Killer Queen moves forward while attacking now rather than staying in the same place to perform its attack.
Style/Specials/Etc. [Stand On] (スタイル/特殊技/その他)
I'll crush you!
+ ON GROUND
This move can now be used freely instead of only being usable when an opponent is downed. As such, it can now be used to cancel normals and cancel into skills. It also now launches if it hits a standing opponent instead of causing normal hitstun.
Skills [Stand Off] (コマンド技)
Ignition
(While a ☆ skill is in effect) + // ON GROUND WHEN DOWNED
The input for this skill has been changed. Previously it was + 2 ATK Buttons in place of + //. Also, these bombs can now hit downed opponents.
Contact Bomb [☆]
+ // ON GROUND WHEN DOWNED
The air bomb travels faster than it did in All-Star Battle with the difference being more noticeable the stronger the button inputted. The explosion is also now a High rather than being Unblockable. As a trade off, this skill now deals heavy guard damage (50% of the bar). The damage of this skill is significantly higher as well.
The First Bomb [☆]
+ // ON GROUND
This skill is no longer an Unblockable; instead, it is now a High. The startup of this skill is significantly shorter as well, meaning that it will now properly combo out of Kosaku's normals. Killer Queen also now moves forward an increasing distance depending on what button is inputted.
Air Bomb Cushion
(While guarding) + 2 ATK Buttons for ½ HH ON GROUND
Instead of being a shielding skill that Kosaku can apply to himself to protect against the next attack he receives, this skill is now a pushblock skill that allows him to push the opponent away when he is guarding attacks at the cost of half a bar of the Heart Heat Gauge. The input for this skill has changed as a result. Previously it was + // instead of + 2 ATK Buttons.
General Changes
Kosaku's run speed in User Mode has been greatly decreased.

Kosaku's GHA, "Bites the Dust", rewinds time, and by doing so, he reverses several character-specific effects. This includes:
Jonathan Joestar: If Jonathan has activated his "This is my final Ripple!" comeback ability and recovers, its passive effects will be undone and access to his HHG will be restored to him as well.
Joseph Joestar: If Joseph has gained any "Guess I did it again!" Levels, it will be reverted back down to Lv 0. If one of the counters used to gain those levels was his "Your next line is:" skill, access to that skill will remain locked.
Rudol von Stroheim: If Stroheim destroyed his own HHG by successfully activating his "Farewell, you annoying Englishman!" skill, access to his HHG will be restored to him.
Wamuu: If Wamuu has any of his installs (Wind Mode, "Vapor Barrier", or "I shall see with the wind") active, they will be cancelled/undone, and the Heart Heat spent will remain lost.
Esidisi: If Esidisi has any of his installs ("Heat Control" or "The Burning King") active, they will be cancelled, and the Heart Heat spent will remain lost.
Kars: If Kars has evolved into the Ultimate Thing using his GHA, his transformation will be undone and the Heart Heat spent will remain lost. If either of his installs ("Light Mode" or "Brilliant Bone Blades") are active, they will be undone as well.
Mariah: If Mariah has gained Magnetization Gauge levels, they will be reverted back down to Lv 1.
Yukako Yamagishi: If Yukako's HHG was destroyed due to her "My precious hair! It's turned completely white!" special, it will be restored, though this is purely visual as she does not have the health to live even the lowest damage version of Kosaku's GHA when the special is activated.
Pannacotta Fugo: If Fugo has Purple Haze in Purple Haze Distortion using either his GHA or his "Purple Haze Distortion" special, the transformation will be undone. If activated with "Purple Haze Distortion", Fugo will remained locked out of that special. If any of Purple Haze's capsules have been broken, they will also all be restored.
Prosciutto: If Prosciutto has gained any Aging Gauge levles, they will be reverted back down to Lv 0.
Diavolo: If Diavolo used his HHA to activate Epitaph, it will be deactivated, and the Heart Heat spent will remain lost.
Weather Report: If Weather has his "Weather Report" install active, it will be undone, and the Heart Heart spent will remain lost.
Enrico Pucci (Final): If Pucci has evolved his Stand into C-MOON or Made in Heaven, it will be reverted all the way back to Whitesnake. In MiH's case, the stage will also revert back to what it was previously, and Pucci will be unable to enter Made in Heaven Mode again for the rest of the match as per his own gameplay rules. If his Stand was still Whitesnake, any of the 14 words already spoken to the Green Baby will be cleared.
Steel Ball Run Characters: If any of the Steel Ball Run characters has Holy Corpse Parts in their possession, they will lose all of them and the Parts will reappear in a random location on the stage. If there were unclaimed Parts on the ground, their location will be randomized as well.
Johnny Joestar: If Johnny has Tusk evolved into any ACT beyond ACT1, then the Stand will be reverted back to ACT1 and Johnny's available abilities will be reverted accordingly.
Gyro Zeppeli: Gyro's Spin Gauge will be returned to being half full, regardless of the amount of Spin Gauge he has when Kosaku's GHA connects. If he was in Golden Spin Mode, the mode will be undone. If any of his Steel Balls were out, they will be automatically returned to him as well.
Funny Valentine: If Valentine has used his "Back from the 'other side'" skill, access to his HHG will be restored to him and the Heart Heat he spent will be lost.
