All-Star Battle R ★ Josuke Higashikata
Josuke Higashikata (東方 仗助, Higashikata Jōsuke) was confirmed for All-Star Battle R during the game's initial announcement trailer.[1] He was 1 of 15 playable characters during the EVO 2022 Demo on August 5.[3]
His moveset is fundamentally the same as his from All-Star Battle, with a few tweaks being made to both balance the character and fit him into the overall gameplay tweaks that All-Star Battle R brought.
In the English localization of the game, Josuke's Stand, Crazy Diamond, is localized as "Shining Diamond", carried on from its All-Star Battle debut.
Replacing Josuke's previous voice actor, Wataru Hatano, is Yuki Ono, who has voiced him since the Diamond is Unbreakable anime adaptation. Because of this, and like the majority of the game's roster, voicelines for Josuke were either added or re-recorded.
Gameplay
Josuke has 1000 health and uses the Stand (スタンド, Sutando) Battle Style, fighting foes with Crazy Diamond. During a fight, he can use various moves from his appearance in Diamond is Unbreakable.

Dialogue
Outside of All-Star Battle Mode, Josuke has unique dialogue for both his match entrances and victories when facing certain characters.
Hair Insults
Just like in All-Star Battle, when triggering Josuke's "Watch your mouth!" ability, each character has a unique line insulting, mocking, or unwittingly offending Josuke's hair. Josuke then replies with "What the hell did you say about my hair!" (今おれのこの頭のことなんつった!) and enters his enraged state.
- “Such eerie hair. What might be hiding away in it?! (ただならぬ不気味な頭部!いったぃどんなものを秘めているのかッ!?)”
- “I've seen a lot of things in my life up until now! However, I've never seen such a strange head like that! (おれは!今までの人生でいるんな物を見て来だ!だが、こんなヘンな頭は見たこともねえッ!!)”—Robert E. O. Speedwagon, referencing Chapter 14
- “We can talk about your stupid hair later. (くだらねー髪の毛の話なんてあとにしな)”—Jotaro Kujo/Jotaro Kujo (Part 4), referencing Chapter 267
- “What's with that shameful, ugly hair?! Your parents will be sad! (なんじゃ、そのみっともない不細工な頭は!親が悲しむぞ!)”
- “I'll say it clearly this time. Your hairstyle is unsightly. (この際だからはっきり言うわ、あんたの髪型ダサいのよ)”
- “I got nothing against you personally, but... that is one awful haircut. (もうオメーに恨みはねえ。 けどよ、その髪型はよォ……ダセェぜ?)”
- “I foretell that I will blow away the head that is resting on that precious hair! (その大切な髪の毛の、のっかっている頭をブッ飛ばすと予告する!)”
- “What's up with that hair?! Teehee, how lame... It's soooo uncool!! (なによその頭ーーッ!!だっ、ださいッ!すごくださいわあーッ!!)”
- “That hairstyle is an eyesore. What the hell? Moody Blues' replay couldn't capture that abomination! (ひでぇ
髪型 だな。どうやってんだ? ムーディー・ブルースでも再生 できないんじゃあねー?)” - “I can't help but irritate you with that ridiculous hairstyle!
- “I'll lend you a razor or scissors...... You better clean up that hairstyle right now (カミソリでもハサミでも貸してやる………… その
髪型 すぐにでもかっさばいたほうがいい)” - “Stop acting all proud of that cheap-looking hairstyle!
- “Did you think that hair looked cool? That is somewhat pitiful... (その頭、カッコいいと思っているのか?なんだかそりゃあお気の毒だな…)”
- “What the hell is that hairstyle... Isn't the time stopped before it stops? (なんだ、その髪型…… 時よ止める以前に、時代が止まっているんじゃあないか?)”
- “What a horrendous hairstyle. I would never allow the people of my country to have it. (なんともひどい髪型だ。そんなヘアスタイルはわが国民には絶対させない)”
- “Baoh caught the scent of his enemy's hair. Baoh does not like the scent. (バオーは相手の髪の毛の香するにおいを触臭で感じ…そのにおいが大嫌いだった)”—Narrator, if playing as Ikuro Hashizawa

Commemorative Giveaway
In commemoration of the release of Keicho Nijimura as the 3rd paid DLC character for ASBR, the Japanese ASBR Twitter account is hosting a giveaway of 20 sets of 3 ASBR Diamond is Unbreakable badges,[5] although only to be delivered to addresses in Japan.[6] The badges in question contain the ASBR render images of Okuyasu Nijimura, Keicho, and Josuke Higashikata respectively.
The campaign started on March 24, 2022, and will last until April 9 at 11:59pm JST. To enter the giveaway lottery, users only have to:
- Follow the @jojo_games_jp Twitter account.
- Retweet the tweet that announced the giveaway in the first place.
However, Twitter accounts set to private are ineligible for the giveaway. Unfollowing the ASBR Twitter account before the end of the giveaway also deems users ineligible. Furthermore, attempting to join the giveaway with multiple accounts will disqualify all of the associated accounts from the giveaway.[6]
The giveaway is directly implemented by Bandai Namco themselves, with no third party involvement, and the winners of the giveaway will be notified via Twitter DMs. Said winners will then announced sometime towards the end of April 2023. The gifts are only eligible for people in Japan, and are scheduled to be delivered in mid-May 2023.[6]
