All-Star Battle R ★ Jotaro Kujo
Jotaro Kujo (空条 承太郎, Kūjō Jōtarō) was confirmed to return for All-Star Battle R during the game's initial announcement trailer,[1] being the second character to appear after Jolyne Cujoh. He was one of the four characters playable in the game's first Early Access Demo[3] alongside Jonathan Joestar, DIO, and Jolyne. He was also 1 of 15 playable characters during the Evo 2022 Demo on August 5.[4] He is part of the game's current demo alongside Joseph, Jolyne, DIO, and Yoshikage Kira.
His moveset is fundamentally the same as his from All-Star Battle, with a few tweaks being made to both balance the character and fit him into the overall gameplay tweaks that All-Star Battle R brought.
As Jotaro's voice actor for over the past few years, debuting in All-Star Battle and later voicing him in the Stardust Crusaders anime, Daisuke Ono reprises his role as Jotaro's voice actor in this game too. As with the majority of the game's roster, voicelines for Jotaro were either added or re-recorded.
Gameplay
Jotaro has 1000 health and uses the Stand (スタンド, Sutando) Battle Style, fighting foes with Star Platinum. During a fight, he can use several different attacks that were featured in Stardust Crusaders. Owing to the simplicity of his Stand, Jotaro is typically viewed as a powerful and well-rounded character, remaining adaptable thanks to his raw, blunt power.
He posseses both above-average damage and melee range, and a lot of his attacks cover a good distance in front of him and have a lengthy execution. Thus, he is one of the easier characters to play in All-Star Battle R, particularly out of the game's Stand Users. His moveset provides many useful tools for reaching the opponent, and his ability to stop time allows him to deal incredible burst damage. However, Jotaro suffers from long recovery times and being fairly easy to hit compared to other characters, which can make maneuvering around certain opponent attacks difficult.

Jotaro may use his HHA or GHA with impunity if he has enough of the HHG left to do so. He is even capable of hitting opponents that were down when the ability was activated, 'resetting' them into a standing position once hit. The ability is best used with normal attacks in mind in order to deal the most damage within the stopped time, as they execute quickly and their damage reduction within stopped time is insubstantial.
If Jotaro's Throw, "My STAND will be the judge!", or GHA is used, time will immediately resume with the HHG drained to zero.
If fighting against other Time Stop users, Jotaro can use this ability to move within the other fighter's stopped time, and may even outlast his opponent if their HHG runs out first.
This move can also be used to counter DIO's Great Heat Attack, It's a steamroller!. This is done by inputting the I stopped time... skill at any point during this attack. Although Jotaro will still take some damage, the damage of the steamroller's explosion is negated and Jotaro cannot be KO'd by the GHA at all. Jotaro and DIO will also end up at opposite ends of the battle arena. This counter will cost Jotaro 2 stocks of his Heart Heat Gauge. For more detailed information, see his Special Interactions.

Moveset Changes from All-Star Battle
- The speed differences across the attack button inputs are more pronounced, with Light () executing much quicker.
This prevents a scenario where the opponent is able to hit the ground (if they're airborne) or even recover from hitstun fast enough to put up their guard (if they're standing) just before the final strike lands, causing it to miss and in the latter case, potentially leave Jotaro open to retaliation.

Poses
Jotaro's concept art, originally from All-Star Battle. The back-facing art appears to be the art of Jotaro from the cover of Volume 24 flipped around to be seen from a back perspective.
Jotaro walks up and stands with a mild pose, resembling the scene from Chapter 255 where he arrives to the battle between Joseph and DIO.
Jotaro mutters to himself, before turning around and facing away, resembling how he turned away from the grave of N'Doul in Chapter 188; as well as the many other times he's turned away from defeated opponents.
Dialogue
- “I'll be the judge! (オレが裁く!)”
- “Doesn't matter if you come at me or not. You're getting a beating.”
- “I didn't call for you...”
- “Damn it. Now it's getting interesting.”
- “Sweet dreams... in hell!”
- “You asked for it!”
- “What's the problem?”
- “How's It Feel?”
- “Wuheeheeheehee, wuhahahahahaha (ウヒヒヒ、ウハハハハハハ)”
- “Hold your horses!”
- “Can't hear you!”
- “You mad?”
- “Not gonna work.”
- “Bet I'm stronger.”
- “My, my.”
- “Remember: You're gonna be paying for this.”
- “I'll take you down.”
- “Better give up.”
- “You gotta be kidding me.”
- “Piss off.”
- “Good... This game's all right. (グッド!なかなかおもしてろいゲームだ…)”
- “Piss off.”
- “Next time we meet, I'm gonna land a thousand strikes on face of yours.”
- “Good grief. (やれやれだぜ)”
- “Sick of hearing what we do is useless. That ain't in our vocabulary.”
- “Do you understand?”
- “Pathetic. I don't even have anything I wanna say to you.”
- “You gotta carve out your own path in life.”
- “This isn't enough... I'm still not angry enough!”
- “Your tab can only be paid with beatings!”
- “Looks like someone didn't practice enough before coming here.”
- “It's hard to see who you really are from your own perspective...”
- “You better swear that you'll never take us on again.”
- “I'm the kind of guy who keeps a grudge if someone screws with me.”
- “That was a rough one...”
- “Even a guy like me can smell the stench of evil from miles away!”
- “You're pretty strong.”
- “Good.”
- “It's not cheating if you don't get caught.”
- “Nice, nice...”
- “I don't have any pity. Not for you.”
- “ORARARA ORA! My Stand will be the judge!”
- “Go on! We'll see who's faster...”
- “Good grief.”
- “You're getting an ass beating from yours truly.”
- “Do you understand?”
- “Next time we meet, I'm gonna land a thousand strikes on that face of yours.”
- “Even a guy like me can smell the stench of evil from miles away!”
- “You pissed me off.”
- “Looks like I found myself another idiot.”
- “I stopped time...”
- “I couldn't forget you if I tried. Take care of yourself...”
- “You're such a joke I can't even think of anything to say to you!”
Special Interactions
- When attacked by DIO's Great Heat Attack, Road Roller, Jotaro initially holds the vehicle back with punches from Star Platinum.
- If Jotaro decides to activate his timestop during this GHA, this interaction is extended:
After Jotaro is eventually 'crushed', DIO celebrates his victory momentarily, before himself being trapped in a timestop, unable to move. Jotaro is then revealed to be standing behind DIO, claiming he stopped time and escaped. This interaction is reminiscent of Chapters 263 & 264. However, rather than Jotaro succesfully kicking DIO away like is done in the original story, DIO is instead able to free himself, causing The World and Star Platinum to clash fists before both Users are blown away.
- If Jotaro decides to activate his timestop during this GHA, this interaction is extended:
- For his assist attacks, Jotaro has special dialogue depending on who summons him. These characters are: Old Joseph Joestar ("Old man!"), Muhammad Avdol, Noriaki Kakyoin, Jean Pierre Polnareff, and Iggy.
