"Modern Crusaders" is a 2000 song by the German musical project Enigma from their fourth studio album using extensive samples from Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, a composition that makes use of the medieval poem "O Fortuna". It is used as the second ending theme for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind.

The animation starts with the camera climbing a pillar decorated with statues of the Stands encountered in chronological order by Team Bucciarati, starting with Rolling Stone on the ground. The pillar itself features statues of Black SabbathSoft MachineKraft WorkLittle FeetMan in the Mirror, Mister PresidentBeach BoyThe Grateful DeadBaby Face, White AlbumClash and Talking Head, and with four arrows.

There is a time between statues and the camera passes by a stone ladybug. Close to the top there are statues of Purple HazeMoody BluesAerosmithSticky Fingers, and King Crimson, (this two in a position of fight against each other). Under King Crimson's right arm Sex Pistols number 7, 3 and 6 and above King Crimson's right arm number 5, 2, 1 and Gold Experience at the top of the pillar posing in the center of a bas-relief resembling rays of light.

During the entire sequence, the scenery is plunged in a colored ambient lighting that constantly shifts color and flakes of severy forms constantly fall from above. The frame is also flanked by two sets of tessellated triangles.

Lyrics

Original Lyrics
English Translation
Don't look back, the time has come
All the pain turns into love
We're not submissive, we're not aggressive
But they think we can't defend
STAND UP, JOIN US, MODERN CRUSADERS ALIVE
We have the power to face the future
'Cause we are the fighters
Just fighting for our rights
They're accusing, like always without knowing
What is just fiction or what is the truth
They have no mission, they have no passion
But they dare to tell us what's bad and what's good!
STAND UP, JOIN US, MODERN CRUSADERS ALIVE
We have the power to face the future
'Cause we are the fighters
Just fighting for our rights
est affectus
et defectus
semper in angaria.
driven on
and weighted down,
always enslaved.
quod per sortem
sternit fortem,
mecum omnes plangite!
since Fate
strikes down the strong,
everyone weep with me!
nunc obdurat
et tunc curat
ludo mentis aciem,
egestatem,
potestatem
mecum omnes plangite!
first oppresses
and then soothes
playing with mental clarity;
poverty
and power
everyone weep with me!
STAND UP, JOIN US, MODERN CRUSADERS ALIVE
We have the power to face the future
'Cause we are the fighters, just fighting for our rights
STAND UP, JOIN US, MODERN CRUSADERS ALIVE
