Pannacotta Fugo (パンナコッタ・フーゴ, Pannakotta Fūgo) was confirmed to return for All-Star Battle R during the game's initial announcement trailer,[1] this time as part of the base roster.
His moveset is fundamentally the same as his from All-Star Battle, although with a few tweaks being made to both balance the character and fit him into the overall gameplay tweaks that All-Star Battle R brought.
Fugo's Stand, Purple Haze, is localized as "Purple Smoke" in the English versions of the game, carried on from its debut in All-Star Battle.
Replacing Hisafumi Oda, Junya Enoki reprises his role as Fugo's voice actor from the Golden Wind anime adaptation. Enoki also replaces Hisao Egawa as Purple Haze. As with the majority of the game's roster, voicelines for Fugo were either added or re-recorded.
Fugo summons Purple Haze to perform a crouching uppercut that hits twice and lifts the opponent upwards. This move is useful for continuing combos off of ground bounces.

Appearance-wise, Purple Haze Distortion loses its purple irides, back spikes, cape, codpiece, knee and elbow pads, and boots. As Distortion, the performance of Fugo's skills is enhanced, primarily in Stand ON. He also takes greatly reduced damage from the Homicidal Virus, while his opponent inversely takes much more total damage at a faster rate. Fugo's Capsules are completely reloaded upon evolving his Stand into Distortion. This move can be used as a unique cancel exclusive to Fugo.

An unblockable purple cloud that inflicts gradual damage over time for a set period, with a character's health gauge turning a purple color to signify the infection. Fugo will also suffer from its effects if he comes into contact with the cloud. It is summoned when one of Purple Haze's six Capsules are broken or Fugo uses his HHA.

The damage and number of hits increases in order, although this also increases vulnerability. This attack is a Stand Rush skill that Fugo can disconnect from near the end of the rush to act freely. (Flash Cancel comboable) With Purple Haze Distortion, the number of punches thrown and total damage dealt is increased.

A command Throw. Purple Haze shifts forward and reaches its arm out. If it connects, Purple Haze will grab the opponent by the neck and punch them in the face, before throwing them up into the air and wildly pummeling them. The distance Purple Haze travels increases in order, although this also increases vulnerability. With Purple Haze Distortion, the number of punches delivered nearly doubles and total damage dealt is increased. The skill's start up also gains Super Armor.

Purple Haze flies out in a tempestuous flurry of punches, before delivering a final straight punch that breaks open a Capsule and releases the Homicidal Virus. Fugo himself states that Purple Haze attacks like it's about to explode, and retreats like a storm. The first hit restands opponents. This HHA will restore up to 3 Capsules on activation (the Capsule broken during the attack itself is not consumed).

Resolute Eyes

Facing away from his opponent, Fugo claims that he's made a decision worth betting everything on, before he turns around and reveals a Capsule between his teeth. He forcefully bites down to crush the Capsule and blows the Homicidal Virus cloud forward. If they are hit, the opponent will cover their face and scream in agony as they begin rapidly melting from the Virus; A camera shot of their skin breaking down and dissolving is shown. Purple Haze Distortion, releasing all of its rage, begins to violently beat them, spreading the Virus into their system even more. The Stand finishes the attack by unleashing a spinning punch that sends the opponent flying as they're completely eradicated. If Purple Haze has not already evolved into Purple Haze Distortion, executing this GHA will automatically do so, regardless if the attack successfully connects or not. This GHA also completely reloads Fugo's Capsules.
Of note is that Fugo's use of a Capsule between his teeth to unleash the viral attack references his first demonstration of Distortion's power during his final battle against Massimo Volpe in Purple Haze Feedback, while Distortion's violent follow-up assault is in reference to the battle with Illuso at the same time. Along with Funny Valentine's GHA, Fugo's is the only special move to alter the contrast of the screen (resulting in a more black and white combination of colors to add more intensity to the special, and obscure the sight of his opponent dissolving).

A one-stock assist. Fugo jumps into the enemy, punching them with Purple Haze and knocking them back. He then quickly withdraws his Stand and poses before jumping back off-screen.
Fugo now moves forward a short distance when attacking, giving this normal more range.
Standing Heavy Attack

When Fugo steps forward, he stays moved forward despite his animation having him step back, resulting in Fugo having moved a small distance forward when this attack completes.

Purple Haze's barrage is shorter for all variants, though it is most noticeable with the variant. To go along with this, the number of hits increases by two between variants instead of only one. However, when Purple Haze has been evolved into Purple Haze Distortion, the number of hits is the same as they were in All-Star Battle for all variants except the variant, where it has one less. The Stand also moves a distance forward that increases as the strength of the attack button inputted does instead of staying in the same position for all variants. The angle opponents are launched is different as well, with them being launched higher into the air and a shorter distance away.

This attack is now a command Throw instead of being a hit grab. As such, it can no longer be blocked as it is classified as a Throw instead of a High. The damage has also increased significantly. Furthermore, while Purple Haze Distortion is active, this grab has Super Armor during its startup now.

Additionally, the translation of this HHA's name has been extended. Previously it was "Attack like an explosion..." in place of "Attack like an explosion... and retreat like a storm!".

Fugo's theme is Real Trust (真実の信頼, Shinjitsu o Miteiru Me), and can be unlocked in-game by using the "Purple Haze Distortion" special in All-Star Battle Mode's Fugo vs Narancia Ghirga Normal Battle.
Fugo's Theme
Its name is in reference to Fugo's inner thoughts regarding how he feels about Giorno Giovanna in Chapter 46 of Vento Aureo after Giorno manages to save the group from the mirror world and cure himself of the Purple Haze Virus, his thoughts being "My trust in him is something that can't be expressed in mere words!"
A character in Part 5: Vento Aureo. His Stand is Purple Haze. He is a gentleman by nature, but becomes violent and uncontrollable when enraged. Unable to follow Bucciarati after he betrays the boss, he withdraws from the group at San Giorgio Maggiore.[3]
