Bruno Bucciarati (ブローノ・ブチャラティ, Burōno Bucciarati) was confirmed to return for All-Star Battle R during the game's initial announcement trailer.[1]

His moveset is fundamentally the same as his from All-Star Battle, with a few tweaks being made to both balance the character and fit him into the overall gameplay tweaks that All-Star Battle R brought.

In the English version of All-Star Battle R, Bucciarati's Stand, Sticky Fingers, is localized as "Zipper Man", carried on from its first official usage in All-Star Battle.

Replacing Noriaki Sugiyama, Yuichi Nakamura reprises his role as Bruno's voice actor from the Golden Wind anime adaptation. As with the majority of the game's roster, voicelines for Bruno were either added or re-recorded.

Gameplay

Bucciarati has 950 health and uses the Stand (スタンド, Sutando) Battle Style, fighting foes with Sticky Fingers. During a fight, he can use several different attacks that were featured in Vento Aureo.

Bucciarati delivers a quick punch with his reach greatly extended via his arm unzipping, knocking the opponent off their feet. This attack can be performed in mid-air, and the attack button inputted determines the trajectory of the strike as well as how long and what direction the opponent is knocked off thier feet.

Ground versions:

  • Light (ASBL.png): Bucciarati punches at a downwards angle. The opponent is knocked to the ground in a soft knockdown.
  • Medium (ASBM.png): Bucciarati punches straight forward, sending the opponent flying away from him.
  • Heavy (ASBH.png): Bucciarati punches upwards, and the attack can function as an anti-air. The opponent is knocked into the air.

Aerial versions:

  • Light (ASBL.png): Bucciarati punches straight forward, allowing him to challenge an opponent in the air. The opponent is sent flying a short distance away from Bucciarati.
  • Medium (ASBM.png): Bucciarati punches at a diagonally downwards angle. The opponent is knocked to the ground in a soft knockdown.
  • Heavy (ASBH.png): Bucciarati punches sharply downwards. The opponent is knocked to the ground in a soft knockdown.

Activates when under 20% health
This mode is automatically activated once Bucciarati falls below 20% health. It increases his attack power, as well as the rate at which the Heart Heat Gauge rises. He also gains super armor during the start up of all his normal attacks and skills.

Bucciarati creates a zipper on the ground and begins riding it at high speeds towards or away from the opponent. The attack button inputted determines his travel distance and speed. This ability can be used to create or close distance for positional or evasion purposes due to both its speed as well as the fact that Bucciarati is especially low to the ground while moving; This allows him to dodge under many incoming attacks.

Of special note is that this skill is cancelable not only into a dedicated follow-up skill, but also Bucciarati's Throw, offering him the ability to suddenly cover a large distance and Throw the opponent in a single maneuver.

Using the momentum of the zipper, Bucciarati delivers a low sliding kick that deals damage and sends the opponent flying if hit.

Bucciarati creates a zipper on the ground and quickly enters it, becoming invulnerable and reappearing at a different location for positional or evasion purposes. The button inputted determines where he reappears in relation to where he started.
  • Light (ASBL.png): Bucciarati reappears from the ground a distance away from the opponent.
  • Medium (ASBM.png): Bucciarati reappears straight above where he disappeared from.
  • Heavy (ASBH.png): Bucciarati reappears right above the opponent.

Sticky Fingers rapidly punches while advancing forward, with the final punch sending the opponent flying. Sticky Fingers's forward movement as well as the hit count and total damage increase in ASBL.pngASBM.pngASBH.png order, but so does vulnerability. This skill can be performed in mid-air, causing Bucciarati to jump away from Sticky Fingers while it delivers its punches from a stationary position. This is a Stand Rush skill that Bucciarati can disconnect from to freely act while it is executing. If he Stand Rushes the aerial version of the skill, he will no longer perform the small backward jump, instead falling straight to the ground. (Flash Cancel Comboable)

The zipper projectile cannot be deflected.

Bucciarati and Sticky Fingers both perform a 3-hit one-handed punch combo in unison, launching the opponent. The different variants launch the opponent at different trajectories, with the ASBL.png variant launching the opponent towards the ground, the ASBM.png variant away, and the ASBH.png variant upwards. The length of the attack and number of hits, and therefore damage, increase in ASBL.pngASBM.pngASBH.png order, but so does vulnerability. The start-up of this attack has a guard effect. Throw (投げ技)
From interrogation to torture

Bucciarati grabs the opponent, punches them upside the head hard enough for them to bounce off the ground, backhand-punches them in the abdomen to knock them into the air, then backhands them again in the head to send them flying.

Bucciarati braces himself with his arms before charging forward at full speed. If he tackles the opponent, he'll grab them before falling with them into an open zipper on the ground created by Sticky Fingers. While off-screen, he proceeds to beat the opponent for heavy damage accompanied by muffled commotion. Bucciarati finishes by reappearing from above the screen and forcefully pile-driving his foe into the ground as he cleanly rolls away, costing him a small sliver of health.
The damage dealt to Bucciarati himself is white damage, and he can regain this lost health over time, provided he doesn't take damage again during this process. He cannot KO himself with this move.
This move has super armor for the duration of Bucciarati's charge.

Arrivederci!

Bucciarati calls out Sticky Fingers to create a zipper on the ground and punch into it, sending out a second zipper moving along the ground forward. If the second zipper makes contact with the opponent, it opens up as Sticker Fingers's zipper-extended fist flies out of it and uppercuts them high into the air, prompting Bucciarati and his Stand to descend into the first zipper. Sticky Fingers emerges from the second zipper directly under the airborne opponent and assaults them with a barrage of upward punches, letting out its signature "ARI ARI ARI" cry. Bucciarati himself slowly emerges during the extended assault and firmly bids his opponent an "Arrivederci" while saluting, as a final left haymaker from his Stand sends them flying (recreating how he killed Pesci). This GHA can hit downed opponents.

A two-stock assist. A zipper appears on the ground and Bucciarati climbs out of it. He then summons Sticky Fingers to punch the ground, creating and sending out a projectile zipper that travels along the ground. The zipper launches the opponent if hit. Bucciarati then dismisses his Stand, poses, creates a zipper on the ground, and disappears into it.

A one-stock assist. Buccarati jumps into the enemy, punching them with Sticky Fingers and knocking them away. He then dismisses his Stand, poses, creates a zipper on the ground, and disappears into it.

This attack is now a command normal where as it was a skill in All-Star Battle. As such, the attack can be chained into skills now, and its input has been changed. Formally, it was ASBDPad2.pngASBDPad3.pngASBDPad6.png in place of ASBDPad3.png.
The ASBL.png and ASBH.png versions for the grounded variant have been swapped, meaning that the ASBL.png version now sends Bucciarati's arm at a downward angle instead of an upward angle while the ASBH.png version sends it upwards instead of downwards. The aerial version is also much less floaty.

This skill has less options than it did in All-Star Battle. There is no follow-up input required to change Bucciarati's position now, but as a result, Bucciarati cannot choose whether he reappears above or from the ground when he teleports. Instead, the location relative to the opponent that Bucciarati appears when he goes through the zipper is set based on what variant is used. Additionally, the ASBM.png variant teleports Bucciarati straight up now instead of closer to the opponent. The ASBH.png also always teleports Bucciarati above the opponent, regardless of distance rather than just closer if he's too far away.

This skill is now a part of Bucciarati's Stand Mode moveset instead of his User Mode moveset. The variants also now control what trajectory the opponent is launched on hit as opposed to always launching the opponent upwards. Additionally, when hitting an aerial opponent, the move now deals more hitstun than it did in All-Star Battle and does not push the opponent away, meaning that the move will properly juggle opponents rather than them being pushed away and recovering out of it after only a single hit.

Bucciarati's theme is ASBR Music.png Arrivederci! (アリーヴェデルチ!(さよならだ), Arīvederuchi! (Sayonara da)), and can be unlocked in game by landing the "This isn't my arm" skill in All-Star Battle Mode's Bucciarati vs Diavolo Normal Battle.

Its name is in reference to Bruno saying the line "Arrivederci!" at the end of his Stand Rush in Chapter 60 of Vento Aureo while pummeling Pesci.
