Jotaro Kujo (空条 承太郎, Kūjō Jōtarō) was confirmed to return for All-Star Battle R during the game's initial announcement trailer,[1] being the second character to appear after Jolyne Cujoh. He was one of the four characters playable in the game's first Early Access Demo[3] alongside Jonathan Joestar, DIO, and Jolyne. He was also 1 of 15 playable characters during the Evo 2022 Demo on August 5.[4] He is part of the game's current demo alongside Joseph, Jolyne, DIO, and Yoshikage Kira.
His moveset is fundamentally the same as his from All-Star Battle, with a few tweaks being made to both balance the character and fit him into the overall gameplay tweaks that All-Star Battle R brought.
As Jotaro's voice actor for over the past few years, debuting in All-Star Battle and later voicing him in the Stardust Crusaders anime, Daisuke Ono reprises his role as Jotaro's voice actor in this game too. As with the majority of the game's roster, voicelines for Jotaro were either added or re-recorded.
Jotaro has 1000 health and uses the Stand (スタンド, Sutando) Battle Style, fighting foes with Star Platinum. During a fight, he can use several different attacks that were featured in Stardust Crusaders. Owing to the simplicity of his Stand, Jotaro is typically viewed as a powerful and well-rounded character, remaining adaptable thanks to his raw, blunt power.
He posseses both above-average damage and melee range, and a lot of his attacks cover a good distance in front of him and have a lengthy execution. Thus, he is one of the easier characters to play in All-Star Battle R, particularly out of the game's Stand Users. His moveset provides many useful tools for reaching the opponent, and his ability to stop time allows him to deal incredible burst damage. However, Jotaro suffers from long recovery times and being fairly easy to hit compared to other characters, which can make maneuvering around certain opponent attacks difficult.

I stopped time...
x2 + ON GROUND
If Jotaro has a minimum of one and a half stocks of the Heart Heat Gauge, he can use his signature Stand ability I stopped time.... If the activating three-second animation plays uninterrupted, Jotaro will stop time for 3.4 ~ 6.9 seconds depending on how much of the HHG he has. All animations, including the HHG flame and the countdown on the battle timer, will temporarily cease, and the opponent in frozen in place and completely unable to act. Damage dealt to the opponent that is not a Throw, "My STAND will be the judge!", HHA, or GHA is reduced, but the opponent is otherwise absolutely vulnerable. When the ability ends and time resumes, the opponent will suffer all damage dealt to them at once. Jotaro may use his HHA or GHA with impunity if he has enough of the HHG left to do so. He is even capable of hitting opponents that were down when the ability was activated, 'resetting' them into a standing position once hit. The ability is best used with normal attacks in mind in order to deal the most damage within the stopped time, as they execute quickly and their damage reduction within stopped time is insubstantial. If Jotaro's Throw, "My STAND will be the judge!", or GHA is used, time will immediately resume with the HHG drained to zero. If fighting against other Time Stop users, Jotaro can use this ability to move within the other fighter's stopped time, and may even outlast his opponent if their HHG runs out first.
This move can also be used to counter DIO's Great Heat Attack, It's a steamroller!. This is done by inputting the I stopped time... skill at any point during this attack. Although Jotaro will still take some damage, the damage of the steamroller's explosion is negated and Jotaro cannot be KO'd by the GHA at all. Jotaro and DIO will also end up at opposite ends of the battle arena. This counter will cost Jotaro 2 stocks of his Heart Heat Gauge. For more detailed information, see his Special Interactions.
Startup frames: 202 ~ 103 (depending on on HH gauge)

(After "ORA, ORA!") + // ON GROUND
Star Platinum slightly extends its barrage before briefly pulling back then delivering a single, final punch that sends the opponent flying.
Damage: 50
Star Finger
+ // ON GROUND
After a lengthy start-up period, Star Platinum explosively extends its fingers out to pierce the opponent in an unblockable attack, knocking them into the air while simutaneously pulling them towards Jotaro. The damage, pull and wind-up of this move increases in order. It is also a Stand Rush skill that Jotaro can disconnect from to attack the opponent while it is executing.
After a brief start-up period, Star Platinum inhales with great strength to pull the opponent closer, giving Jotaro the advantage and a chance to attack first. Although it doesn't deal damage, this move can be 'blocked' and its stagger effect negated, but the vacuum effect cannot be nullified. The range of the pull increases in order. It is also a Stand Rush skill that Jotaro can disconnect from to attack the opponent while it is executing.
Throw
This incredible power...!
2 ATK buttons near opponent or (Rear throw with ) ON GROUND
Star Platinum picks the opponent up, before spinning and slamming them into the ground. Unblockable.
Damage: 140
Heart Heat Attack / Great Heat Attack
ORA ORA ORA ORA!
+ 2 ATK Buttons ON GROUND
Star Platinum delivers its signature flurry of punches in an extended barrage lasting around 2–5 seconds, dependent on whether or not the attack button is rapidly pressed, ending in either a punch that sends the opponent flying (without input), or an uppercut that knocks them high into the air (with successful input). This HHA does not require an initial hit to connect in order to work, and will not stop until it finishes or Jotaro is interrupted.
If done during the I stopped time... skill, the opponent will fly upward upon time resuming, allowing for Jotaro to follow up.
Damage: 100 ~ 203 (depending on number of hits)
You pissed me off.
+ 3 ATK Buttons, or ON GROUND
Jotaro calls Star Platinum to fly at the opponent and deliver a powerful punch. If it connects, they're knocked off their feet before Jotaro immediately stops time. Star Platinum then unleashes an incredible barrage of punches on the defenseless foe before throwing a final body blow, for total of 114 hits. Pointing his finger, Jotaro remarks that the opponent pissed him off, and finally resumes time to let them go flying.
Damage: 360 / 432 / 540 (depending on HH gauge)

Damage: 103
Reversal Assist
ON GROUND
A one-stock assist. Jotaro jumps into the enemy, punching them with Star Platinum, knocking them back. He then withdraws his Stand and poses before jumping back off-screen.
The attack's animation has been swapped with "ORAAAA!"; It is now a hefty downwards punch with slightly more range than before.
Crouching Heavy Attack (Stand ON)
+ ON GROUND
The attack now hits twice and only inflicts basic hitstun rather than tripping the opponent.
Jumping Medium Attack (Stand ON)
Jumping IN AIR OK
The attack now knocks the opponent upwards.
Specials
I stopped time...
x2 + ON GROUND
This special now executes drastically slower, giving Jotaro's opponent more time to interrupt him and making it more difficult to successfully stop time. However, it executes drastically faster if he has a full three stocks of Heart Heat when performing it, comparable to its speed in the original All-Star Battle.
ORAAAA!
+
The attack's animation has swapped with Stand ON standing Heavy attack; It is now an uppercut that knocks the opponent off their feet.
Skills
ORA, ORA! (Stand OFF)
+ //
Star Platinum now advances forward while attacking depending on the attack button input. Its fists have noticeably less reach, reducing the effective range of the attack. Also, the final punch no longer sends the opponent flying, instead inflicting simple stagger that leaves the opponent standing and able to quickly recover.
Here's your receipt!
Jotaro now gains invulnerability during the attack's start-up period if Medium () or Heavy () is inputted.
My STAND will be the judge!
The attack speed and distance differences across the attack button inputs are more pronounced, with Light () now only being a close-ranged attack delivered quickly.
ORA, ORA! (Stand ON)
Star Platinum now advances forward while attacking depending on the attack button input. The amount of punches delivered can now be increased by repeatedly tapping an attack button. Star Platinum's fists have noticeably less reach, reducing the effective range of the attack.
ORAAA!
+ //
The input for this follow-up skill has been changed, simplifying the execution required to perform it.
Star Finger
The attack button inputted now determines the skill's damage and speed. This skill executes much faster, making it more difficult for an opponent to react. The attack now has the added effect of knocking the opponent towards Jotaro with a much higher launching effect, rather than straight upwards. Finally, the recovery of this skill has been lessened dramatically.
Beat in a single breath!
Jotaro now has an armor effect during the start-up portion of this skill. The force of the vacuum effect is now determined by the attack button inputted.
The speed differences across the attack button inputs are more pronounced, with Light () executing much quicker.
Heart Heat Attack
ORA ORA ORA ORA!
The second to last hit during the extended version of attack now launches the opponent a small distance upwards, allowing the final hit to land even if a juggled opponent is particularly low to the ground. This prevents a scenario where the opponent is able to hit the ground (if they're airborne) or even recover from hitstun fast enough to put up their guard (if they're standing) just before the final strike lands, causing it to miss and in the latter case, potentially leave Jotaro open to retaliation.
Jotaro's concept art, originally from All-Star Battle. The back-facing art appears to be the art of Jotaro from the cover of Volume 24 flipped around to be seen from a back perspective.
Back
Match Entrance
At the start of a match
Jotaro walks up and stands with a mild pose, resembling the scene from Chapter 255 where he arrives to the battle between Joseph and DIO.
Round Win Pose 1
After winning a round
Jotaro mutters to himself, before turning around and facing away, resembling how he turned away from the grave of N'Doul in Chapter 188; as well as the many other times he's turned away from defeated opponents.

Special Interactions
When attacked by DIO's Great Heat Attack, Road Roller, Jotaro initially holds the vehicle back with punches from Star Platinum.
If Jotaro decides to activate his timestop during this GHA, this interaction is extended: After Jotaro is eventually 'crushed', DIO celebrates his victory momentarily, before himself being trapped in a timestop, unable to move. Jotaro is then revealed to be standing behind DIO, claiming he stopped time and escaped. This interaction is reminiscent of Chapters 263 & 264. However, rather than Jotaro succesfully kicking DIO away like is done in the original story, DIO is instead able to free himself, causing The World and Star Platinum to clash fists before both Users are blown away.
