All-Star Battle R ★ Risotto Nero
Risotto Nero (リゾット・ネエロ, Rizotto Nēro) was officially announced for All-Star Battle R on October 7, 2022 during the Stone Ocean anime stream[1] as the first playable DLC for the game, as well as the first character of the Season Pass. A full gameplay trailer was later posted on October 23.[3] He was then released on the October 27, 2022, although early access was available on the 25th for Season Pass and/or Digital Deluxe Edition holders, and could be fought - even without buying the DLC - via the "Endless Mode" in "Arcade Mode".
Having neither previously appeared in All-Star Battle nor Eyes of Heaven, he has an original moveset based on his appearance in Vento Aureo.
In the English versions of All-Star Battle R, Risotto's Stand, Metallica, is localized as "Metallic", carried on from its first official usage in Eyes of Heaven.
As Risotto's voice actor for the Golden Wind anime adaptation, Shinshu Fuji reprises his role in All-Star Battle R.
Gameplay
Risotto had 1000 health and uses the Stand (スタンド, Sutando) Battle Style, although unlike what is typical of characters with this Style, he does not summon or dismiss Metallica. Instead, he camouflages with his Stand's power, increasing his evasion and making it more difficult for his opponent to track his of actions.
His Iron Deficiency mechanic applies a debuff to opponents that prevents them from dashing, running, and gaining Heart Heat, allowing Risotto to zone them more easily with projectiles. His Assassin ability also further helps him keep a distance as it makes him impervious to Throws and most projectiles, and can make it difficult for opponents to read him. Both of these make him decent on defense, although direct attacks from up-close opponents naturally nullify this. Therefore, Risotto is best played offensively at a close- to mid-range until he is able to debuff the opponent with Iron Deficiency, at which point he is a lot safer to attack from afar.

- None: Risotto will camouflage in place.
- : Risotto dashes forward while camouflaging. This variation can be chained into from any normal attack, but consumes 1/2th of a bar of Heart Heat instead to do so.
- : Risotto dashes backwards while camouflaging.
- : Risotto jumps forward while camouflaging.
- : Risotto jumps backward while camouflaging.
Moves 2 through 5 can be executed out of a normal attack, but at the cost of half a bar from the HH Gauge.
While camouflaged, Risotto is passively invulnerable to Throws and most projectiles. However, he is still vulnerable to any trap and specific projectiles can still hit him: projectiles unleashed through HHAs and GHAs; all of Narancia's projectiles, bullets and bombs alike; Muhammad Avdol's "Flaming Detector" skill; and Mariah's "Sorry, but you'll have to die now." knives. Naturally, he makes it challenging for a human opponent to visually judge his next attack, improving his ability to bypass defenses with low-hitting or middle-hitting attacks when on offense.
The effect will cancel upon Risotto performing any attack, taking or blocking damage, or at a second press of the Style button. Otherwise, it will last indefinitely.
Attack type: High (slash) + Low (knife)
Damage: 13 + 30 (43)
The only two characters immune to Iron Deficiency are Giorno Giovanna with Gold Experience Requiem, and Diego Brando while in Dinosaur Form.
- Light : Risotto launches the scalpels straight forward.
- Medium : Risotto launches the scalpels at an upward angle, functioning as a mid-ranged anti-air.
- Heavy : Risotto launches the scalpels sharply upward, functioning as a close-ranged anti-air.
Attack type: High
Damage: 10 each (50 in total)
Damage: 80 / 100 / 120
While the opponent is inside Metallica's range, a timer gauge appears over their head counting down from 3. If Risotto does not release the skill prematurely, and the opponent does not escape the field or interrupt him with an attack before the timer reaches 0, razors will violently explode from their body and send them flying to inflict high damage. This attack is completely unblockable, and will ignore invulnerability, Stylish Guard, and Stylish Evade. To note, the countdown will continue while the opponent is downed, but the attack will not complete if they are downed when the timer reaches 0. If successful, Risotto may immediately chain into another attack, canceling his recovery time. (Comboable)
If executed while "Assassin" is in effect, Risotto will remain camouflaged until the input is released, the attack succeeds, or he takes damage.
Damage: 150
- Light : Risotto performs a low outwards slash, functioning as a low attack that knocks the opponent off their feet. (Flash Cancel comboable)
- Medium : Risotto performs a leaping stab from the air, functioning as a middle attack that leaves the opponent crumpling. (Comboable)
- Heavy : Risotto performs a lunging stab, sending the opponent flying far back. This variation leaves Risotto the least vulnerable if blocked.
If executed while "Assassin" is in effect, Risotto will remain camouflaged until the instant he delivers the attack.
Attack type: Low / Middle / High
Damage: 40 / 42 / 38
While the health regained is considerable, this ability takes time to perform, and can be interrupted if used inopportunely. Upon success, the health begins as regenerating silver damage that disappears if Risotto is struck, meaning he must avoid damage in order to recoup any significant lost health.

- “There's nothing else you can do! I'm keeping my distance! You have no strength to resist! There's nothing you can do!”

- “Even if I'm down, I won't go down alone. I'll take you with me. I'm prepared to do that!”
- “That's all you've got? Then this whole thing was a waste of time.”
- “I won't get closer to you.”
- “I told you to stand up! Stand up!”
- “Now I'm even more interested in you!”
- “I already know how I'll kill you.”
- “I must be even closer to what I seek than I thought!”
- “Because you're already complete!”
- “I failed... but I have to learn from my mistake and make the best of the situation.”
- “I can't wait! I can't wait to see what your face will look like once you die!”

Special Interactions
Dialogue
Outside of the All-Star Battle Mode, Risotto Nero has unique interaction dialogue for both his match entrances and victories when facing certain characters.
Due to the availability of certain voice actors, most of these interactions re-use existing dialogue for Risotto's opponents. In this case, only Joseph Joestar and Rudol von Stroheim have new dialogue - Joseph because the voice actor returned for his character's "Your next line is..." interaction; Stroheim due to both characters being DLC released close to each other.
- “Once I'm coming for you... That means... I already know how I'll kill you!”—Default dialogue

Commemorative Giveaway
In commemoration of the release of Risotto as the 1st paid DLC character for ASBR, the Japanese ASBR Twitter account hosted a giveaway of 20 sets of 3 ASBR Vento Aureo badges,[5] although only to be delivered to addresses in Japan.[6] The badges in question contain the ASBR render images of Ghiaccio, Prosciutto & Pesci, and Risotto respectively, titled the "Assassionation Team (暗殺者チーム, Asashin Chīmu)".
The campaign started on October 28, 2022, and lasted until November 13 at 11:59pm JST. To enter the giveaway lottery, users only had to:
- Follow the @jojo_games_jp Twitter account.
- Retweet the tweet that announced the giveaway in the first place.
However, Twitter accounts set to private were illegible for the giveaway. Unfollowing the ASBR Twitter account before the end of the giveaway also deemed users illegible. Furthermore, attempting to join the giveaway with multiple accounts caused all of those accounts to lose their eligiblity to win.[6]
The giveaway was directly implemented by Bandai Namco themselves, with no third party involvement, and the winners of the giveaway were notified via Twitter DMs. Said winners were then announced sometime in December, 2022.[6]
