ASBR Shigechi title call.png

Shigekiyo Yangu (矢安宮 重清, Yangū Shigekiyo) was confirmed for All-Star Battle R during the game's initial announcement trailer.[1]

Being Shigechi's one and only voice actor, debuting in All-Star Battle and later voicing him in the Diamond is Unbreakable anime adaptation, Kappei Yamaguchi reprises his role in this game as well. As with a majority of the game's roster, voicelines for Shigechi were either added or re-recorded.

Gameplay

Shigechi has 900 health and uses the Stand (スタンド, Sutando) Battle Style, fighting foes with Harvest. During a fight, he can use several different attacks that were featured in Diamond is Unbreakable.

This section requires expansion.

Style/Specials/Etc. [Offensive] (スタイル/特殊技/その他)
Herd of Harvests
Passive
Harvest is always on for Shigechi. His total number of Harvest units affect his various skills and their strength and properties. Shigechi can have up to 3 units active at a time.

All of Shigechi's skills consume Harvest units; His skills become unavailable if he has zero Harvest units. The stronger the strength of the attack button used to activate a skill, the more Harvest units are consumed to perform it. If Shigechi attempts to perform a variation of a skill that consumes multiple units while he has an insufficient amount, the next best highest strength variation is chosen automatically.

You can see my Harvest?!
ASBS.png ON GROUND
Shigechi summons a group of Harvests as one unit upon a press of the Style button. While the skill can be activated an unlimited number of times, only a maximum of 3 units can be active at a time.
Defensive Formation
ASBDPad4.png + ASBS.png ON GROUND
Shigechi switches Harvest to Defensive Formation, shifting his available abilities. It also automatically summons a Harvest unit upon activation. The Harvest icon above Shigechi's Heart Heat Gauge indicates which formation Harvest is currently in. This action can cancel normals and cancel into skills, allowing him quick access to his skills when switching from Offensive Formation.
Relay Race
ASBDPad4.pngASBDPad4.png/ASBDPad6.pngASBDPad6.png (Hold to extend duration) ON GROUND
Replacing the normal forward run, Harvest can carry Shigechi both forwards and backwards in a caterpillar track-like fashion (same as the method he used to escape Josuke and Okuyasu). The forward variant can be canceled into "You can see my Harvest?" and "Defensive Formation".
Rumble Mode (ゴゴゴモード, Gogogo Mōdo)
Activates below 30% health
This mode is automatically activated once Shigechi falls below 30% health. It increases his attack power, as well as the rate at which the Heart Heat Gauge rises, while also decreasing the rate at which the Guard Gauge drops.
Skills [Offensive] (コマンド技)
I can get anything I want!
ASBDPad6.pngASBDPad2.pngASBDPad3.png + ASBL.png/ASBM.png/ASBH.png ON GROUND
Shigechi sends Harvest to drop objects on the opponent's head, regardless of range and orientation. If one or two units are used, Harvest drops nuts and bolts on their head, with two units (ASBM.png) increasing the number of nuts and bolts for more damage. If three units are used (ASBH.png), two construction pipes will fall instead, bouncing the opponent off the ground. These pipes cannot be reflected. (Comboable)

Shigechi sends Harvest flying forward as an arcing projectile. If this projectile hits, the opponent will be launched away into a soft knockdown. The more Harvest units are used, the farther the projectile will fly and the higher the number of hits and damage dealt. (Flash Cancel comboable).
This projectile cannot be deflected.

ASBDPad2.pngASBDPad1.pngASBDPad4.png + ASBL.png/ASBM.png/ASBH.png ON GROUND WHEN DOWNED
Shigechi sends Harvest running at the opponent. This skill can strike a downed opponent and cannot be deflected. The amount of homing the projectile has, the speed of the projectile, number of hits, and damage dealt is increased the more Harvest units are used, but the more units, the more vulnerable Shigechi becomes. (Flash Cancel comboable)

A command Throw. Shigechi has Harvest leap upwards in a falling arc. Don't come any closer!
ASBDPad2.pngASBDPad1.pngASBDPad4.png + ASBL.png/ASBM.png/ASBH.png ON GROUND
Harvest instantly forms a wall in front of Shigechi, completely guarding against all non-Throw/HHA/GHA attacks. The wall will always automatically orient towards the opponent for its duration. This move doubles as a reversal, and has a follow-up affected by the number of Harvest units used to erect the guard.
I'll protect them!
(During "Don't come any closer!") ASBDPad6.png + ASBL.png/ASBM.png/ASBH.png ON GROUND WHEN DOWNED
The Harvests making up the wall shoot at the opponent. They cannot be deflected. The attack button inputted during "Don't come any closer!" determines the effect of this skill:
  • Light (ASBL.png): The Harvests shoot high, bouncing the opponent off the ground if hit. (Flash Cancel comboable)
  • Medium (ASBM.png): The Harvests shoot straight out, hitting the opponent multiple times. (Comboable)
  • Heavy (ASBH.png): The Harvests run forward on the ground, sending them flying across the stage. This variant can also strike a downed opponent.

Attack type: ASBL.pngASBM.png High / ASBH.png High (first hit) Low (second hit)
Damage: ASBL.png 35 / ASBM.png 5 × 15 (75) / ASBH.png 40 × 2 (80)

So itchy!
ASBDPad4.pngASBDPad1.pngASBDPad2.pngASBDPad3.pngASBDPad6.png + ASBL.png/ASBM.png/ASBH.png ON GROUND
Shigechi sends Harvest running at the opponent, binding and then crumpling them. Harvest is considered a projectile, but they cannot be reflected. The more Harvest units are used, the less vulnerable Shigechi is during the recovery after the attack is performed. (Comboable)

Attack type: Low
Damage: 40

Throw (投げ技)
Don't move!
2 ATK buttons near opponent or ASBT.png (ASBDPad4.png to back-throw) ON GROUND
Shigechi bombards the enemy with a barrage of Harvests, rapidly tackling them and sending them flying in the desired direction. If a back-throw is performed, the opponent will be lifted over Shigechi's head by the barrage.

Attack type: Throw
Damage: 95

Heart Heat Attack / Great Heat Attack (HHA / GHA)
Now I'm real mad!
ASBDPad2.pngASBDPad3.pngASBDPad6.png + 2 ATK Buttons ON GROUND WHEN DOWNED
Shigechi points and quickly sends out a large, dense wave of Harvests a long distance forward, sending the opponent flying on impact into a soft knockdown. This HHA can strike a downed opponent, making it possible for it to be used twice in a row. It also automatically summons three Harvest units for use afterward.

Attack type: High
Damage: 186

You want proof?! Here it is!
ASBDPad2.pngASBDPad3.pngASBDPad6.png + 3 ATK Buttons or ASBG.png ON GROUND
Shigechi calls forth a massive wave of Harvests that rapidly travel forward. If they connect, the Harvests will cover the opponent from head to toe as they pile on top of them, forming a mound while the opponent cannot be seen at all from underneath the Stand. Each one relentlessly punches the opponent before they all deliver an uppercut in unison, sending the opponent flying backwards as the individual Harvests scatter.

This GHA automatically summons three Harvest units for use afterward.

Attack type: High
Damage: 354 / 424 / 531 (depending on HH gauge)

Assist System (アシストシステム)
Assault Assist (アサルトアシスト, Asaruto Ashisuto)
ON GROUND
A two-stock assist. Shigechi rides in on Harvest before having them form a wall. If the opponent hits the wall with a non-Throw/HHA/GHA attack, Shigechi will send a wave of Harvest forward along the ground. If they hit, the opponent will be sent flying across the stage into a hard knockdown. He then pulls out a sandwich bag from St. Gentleman's and poses with it before having Harvest carry him back off-screen.

Attack type: High (first hit) Low (second hit)
Damage: 80

Reversal Assist (リバーサルアシスト, Ribāsaru Ashisuto)
ON GROUND
A two-stock assist. Shigechi flies into the enemy, kicking them away with both of his legs. He then pulls out a sandwich bag from St. Gentleman's and poses with it before having Harvest carry him back off-screen.

Attack type: High

Moveset changes from All-Star Battle

Offensive Formation (攻撃重視シフト)Defensive Formation (防御重視シフト)
Normals [Offensive] (通常技)
Standing Medium Attack
ASBM.png ON GROUND
Shigechi does not travel as far forward as he did in All-Star Battle when attacking, leading to this normal having shorter range.
Crouching Medium Attack
ASBDPad2.png + ASBM.png ON GROUND
Shigechi moves farther forward than he did in All-Star Battle, granting this attack a longer range.
Crouching Heavy Attack
ASBDPad2.png + ASBH.png ON GROUND
Harvest carries Shigechi forward a greater distance than they did in All-Star Battle, granting this attack a longer range. This attack also hits up to four times now instead of only once.
Style/Specials/Etc. [Offensive] (スタイル/特殊技/その他)
You can see my Harvest?!
ASBS.png ON GROUND
The recovery of this style has been decreased, allowing Shigechi to more quickly replenish his Harvest units than he could in All-Star Battle.
Defensive Formation
ASBDPad4.png + ASBS.png ON GROUND
The input for this special has changed. Previously it was ASBDPad2.pngASBDPad1.pngASBDPad4.png in place of ASBDPad4.png.

ASBDPad6.pngASBDPad2.pngASBDPad3.png + ASBL.png/ASBM.png/ASBH.png ON GROUND
While the same objects are dropped on the opponent, their visuals have been slightly changed. For the ASBL.png and ASBM.png variants, after the nuts and bolts hit, there is no animation of them bouncing off the opponent. For the ASBH.png variant, the pipes have been rotated about the y-axis, resulting in the pipes taking up less visual space on the screen. The animation remains the same, albeit rotated. This does not appear to have altered the hitbox much if at all though.
The recovery of this skill has been decreased, allowing Shigechi to act earlier than he could in All-Star Battle after using this skill. The object also falls on the opponent much earlier now, with this difference becoming less noticeable as the strength of the attack button increases.
Don't underestimate Harvest!
ASBDPad2.pngASBDPad3.pngASBDPad6.png + ASBL.png/ASBM.png/ASBH.png ON GROUND
All variants of this skill now launch the opponent instead of only the ASBH.png variant, with the ASBH.png variant's now launching the opponent farther away and causing a soft knockdown rather than a hard knockdown. It also hits less times now, going from 25 to 18 hits.
Mess with me and you're gonna get hurt!
ASBDPad2.pngASBDPad1.pngASBDPad4.png + ASBL.png/ASBM.png/ASBH.png ON GROUND WHEN DOWNED
The number of hits for the ASBL.png variant has gone from 3 to 6 while the ASBH.png variant has gone from 27 to 18. Additionally, the translation for the name of this skill has changed. Previously it was "Learn the hard way!" in place of "Mess with me and you're gonna get hurt!".

The Stand of Shigekiyo Yangu. It is a colony-type Stand consisting of around 500 units. It specializes in collecting objects from long-range.
