D'Arby the Player (ダービー・ザ・プレイヤー, Dābī za Pureiyā) is the twenty-sixth story arc in Stardust Crusaders.

It narrates the video game session between Jotaro, Kakyoin and Joseph against Telence T. D'Arby, who can steal souls but also read minds.

Summary

The next day, the Joestar Group welcomes back Kakyoin among their ranks and meet Iggy again, who guides them to DIO's house out of a grudge against Pet Shop's master. However, they meet Telence T. D'Arby, the user of Atum. Telence drags Jotaro, Kakyoin, and Joseph underground, and Joseph tells Avdol to burn down the house in 10 minutes. Jotaro, Kakyoin, and Joseph find themselves on an island in the middle of the sea, where D'Arby challenges them to video games, revealing that he too stole the souls of people who recognized defeat. Kakyoin challenges Telence to F-MEGA but loses after a close match. Jotaro then challenges Telence to Oh! That's a Baseball!. Jotaro is gifted in the game, which forces D'Arby to use the mind-reading power of Atum. By asking yes or no questions, D'Arby can divine Jotaro's throws and gains the upper hand. Then Jotaro's throws begin to contradict Telence divinations, and the latter cannot discover how he does that. He eventually recognizes defeat unwillingly and frees Kakyoin, which is when Joseph reveals that he was the one playing all along with Hermit Purple. Star Platinum pummels Telence away through a wall, revealing the sea to be a fake.[1]
