Clamp in Wonderland
CLAMP IN WONDERLAND was a nationwide 1994 Summer event held in Japan by famous manga studio Clamp (クランプ Kuranpu). Spanning from July 31 to August 28, it advertised the group's previously released Dōjinshi and acted as a premiere to their animated music video series, Clamp in Wonderland.
The event is notable for featuring JoJo's Bizarre Married Life (ジョジョの奇妙な新婚生活 JoJo no kimyō na Shinkon Seikatsu), an unofficial yaoi doujin series featuring characters from Part 3 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
JoJo's Bizarre Married Life
The first two chapters of JoJo's Bizarre Married Life were featured in the sixth issue of the fanzine CLAMP LABORATORY 6, which released in March 1994. The fanzine also featured a short promotion on the back detailing the CLAMP IN WONDERLAND Summer event. The doujin takes place in an alternate reality where all the protagonists of Part 3 are still alive, with Kakyoin beginning his life in the Kujo Mansion as a housewife after being forced to sign marriage documents by Jotaro.
The next three chapters of the doujin were later included in the special fanzine CLAMP in Wonderland 1994 Summer, which was distributed to all visitors of the CLAMP IN WONDERLAND event. In the fanzine, Kakyoin wakes up one morning to discover that he had "laid" an egg. The small child who hatches from the egg is named Jota Kujo.
CLAMP LABORATORY 6
The story takes place after an alternate version of Part 3 where all the members of the Joestar Group have survived, DIO wasn't killed by Jotaro, and Holy has been cured of her fever despite DIO still being alive. Kakyoin is brought back to the Kujo Mansion by Jotaro, who forces him to sign marriage documents. Thus, Kakyoin begins his life in the Kujo household as a housewife. He begins to practice cooking with Holy (now his stepmother) in order to become a good wife. After many failed attempts at cracking an egg, he eventually cracks one safely and Holy praises him for it.
Kakyoin makes breakfast for the other crusaders with Hierophant Green as his helper. Before anyone can start eating, DIO, now their neighbor, interrupts them with the intent of eating their breakfast for himself. DIO and Jotaro begin to fight over a piece of food, Jotaro demanding DIO let go of it, but DIO taunts him by saying he couldn't hear and asks if he'll take it by force. They call out their respective Stands The World and Star Platinum as the others look at their food. DIO stops time to eat all the food. However, DIO becomes sicks and it is revealed that Kakyoin's food is actually terrible. Humourously, he experiences similar symptoms to when Jotaro caved in his skull. Kakyoin is disheartened by this, lamenting that he woke up at 4 in the morning to make breakfast. Jotaro nonetheless begins to start eating his portion of food even if Avdol and Polnareff try to stop him. They plead that he shouldn't kill himself and that there's no need to go this far but Jotaro ignores them.
Jotaro eventually finishes all the food without becoming sick and tells Kakyoin they're going to school now. It's stated Kakyoin is a 2nd-year high school student, and Jotaro is a 3rd-year high school student. Since they both took 50 days off school, they ended up staying for another year. Avdol and Polnareff are surprised Jotaro ate the food, and Joseph mentions it must be due to love. The still-ill DIO insults Kakyoin, saying that out of all of the Joestar wives he's seen, Kakyoin has the worst cooking skills. Kakyoin launches an Emerald Splash at DIO before beating him up.
The next chapter starts by mentioning the idea that there is a job for the wife when it comes to night. It is evening and the heroes are gathered at the house. Kakyoin, Joseph, Avdol, and Polnareff are playing video games but suddenly, Jotaro declares that he and Kakyoin need to sleep. Jotaro then drags Kakyoin away from the group by his collar. Joseph starts singing a tune about the grandfather's privilege to see what his grandson is doing. Avdol disagrees with the idea of peeking but Joseph stops him and explains that it is his duty as a grandfather to "see his grandson off to happiness". Avdol is convinced and even says that since he's named Jotaro's Star Platinum, he also has that duty. Even Polnareff and Iggy agree with the notion. As Polnareff puts it, since they are friends, they have the right to see.
The group sits in front of the TV, using Joseph's Hermit Purple on the TV to peek at the newlyweds but immediately regret their actions after the vision appears. The next day, Jotaro walks in on the group nervously eating together. He forgives Joseph for watching him and Kakyoin last night as the group denies they did so. Joseph inwardly says to himself that he forgot Jotaro could sense him because of their Joestar blood. Jotaro scolds them and beats them up with Star Platinum while Kakyoin decides he is just going to go back to his own house for now.
CLAMP IN WONDERLAND 1994 SUMMER
Kakyoin wakes up one morning and discovers a giant egg. He reveals it to his friends. When Polnareff frantically asks Kakyoin if he has laid this egg, Kakyoin says that he doesn't know and that it was just there when he woke up. Joseph happily congratulates Kakyoin, excited to see what his great-grandson will look like and looking forward to Holy's reaction. Kakyoin tries to tell Joseph that this egg might not even be his but he realizes Joseph isn't listening to him.
Everyone begins to hear noises, with Avdol describing them as sounds coming from far away and coming closer. While Polnareff is holding the egg, a child suddenly hatches out of the egg and punches Polnareff's face, knocking him to the ground. The child is shown to bear a star-shaped birthmark on his shoulder. Joseph happily embraces the child and Avdol congratulates Jotaro and Kakyoin. Polnareff points out that even though the child was just born, he already packs a mean punch.
Kakyoin is still confused by this child hatched from an egg but he begins to find it cute as he holds it in his arms. The child then glances at Jotaro, giving him a stern glare. The chapter ends by stating that "the proof of love between Jotaro and Kakyoin has finally appeared". The narration jokes that even though people hatching from eggs is scientifically impossible, the title of the series being JoJo's Bizarre Married Life justifies this strange occurrence and and that now, the new adventures of the 3rd and 5th generation of JoJo can begin. At some point, the child born from the egg has been named "Jota" by Joseph. Only a week after Jota's birth, he had grown enough to start going to kindergarten. Due to the already bizarre nature of his birth, nobody is exactly surprised.
Jota returns from kindergarten back home as Kakyoin is doing laundry with Holy. Kakyoin welcomes Jota back with a hug and asks if he didn't get into any fights that day. Jota says yes, but his expression otherwise says he did and that he pummeled them halfway to death. Kakyoin thinks to himself that Jota really is Jotaro's child. Jota then pulls out a picture he drew in kindergarten and shows it to Kakyoin. It is a drawing of Jotaro with the words "Stubborn" and "Sadistic" written on it. Incidentally, Jotaro also comes back with Kakyoin welcomes him. Jota and Jotaro glare at each other. Worried, Kakyoin tries to calm Jotaro down by saying that Jota is just a child. Angry, Jotaro attempts to use Star Platinum to attack Jota and Kakyoin restrains him like when Kakyoin had to hold him back from attacking Steely Dan. At that moment, Jota suddenly activates his Stand. At this moment, the others enter the room with Joseph asking Jota if he wants to play with his grandpa. They all spot Jota's Stand. Avdol waves his hand through the Stand, unable to touch it. Polnareff examines it and comments that the Stand looks like a green Star Platinum, pointing out how its legs are all unraveled. Avdol, Joseph, and Polnareff think that no matter how you look at it, the Stand is just a combination of Hierophant Green and Star Platinum.
Joseph decides they should name Jota's Stand and tells Avdol to give it a good name. Advol explains that they unfortunately used all the tarot card names, with the narration nothing that even in the original story of Part 3, they started naming Stands after things unrelated to the tarot cards. Polnareff proposes to have Jotaro name the Stand as it should be the father's job to name it. Plus, Jotaro already made Joseph name the kid because he was too lazy to do it alone. Jotaro and Jota glare at each other before Jotaro walks over to the kitchen to bring out green dish soap, saying the name of the brand, "Charmy Green. Joseph and Avdol are disappointed by the name but Polnareff thinks it's pretty good. Jotaro and Jota glare at each other again. Meanwhile, Kakyoin thinks that Jota is already bizarre enough for being a Stand User on top of being born from an egg. He questions if this child can grow up normally. The chapter closes out by exclaiming that, as people say, the child of a frog will end up being a frog, and by default, a Stand User's child will be a Stand User. The narration announces that Jota will begin the battle between father and son with his new Stand, Charmy Green.
Ten years later, Jota has grown enough to be a sophomore in high school. He is technically ten years old but has the body of a sixteen years old boy. Additional info about Jota is also stated in his bio. It is revealed that Jota, at Kakyoin's request, had been visiting Morioh often to deliver packages to Jotaro. He quickly became acquainted with the town due to the frequent visits and soon found himself befriending Josuke Higashikata, Jotaro's uncle and his granduncle, during these visits. Jota showcases Charmy Green's matured abilities and attacks to Josuke, showing its "Emerald Star Finger" and ability to unravel its legs to make a barrier. Josuke is intrigued by the Stand's assortment of abilities. Jota then shows off Charmy Green's ultimate attack, "Urya Urya Rush", the result of 10 years of fighting against his father. Josuke laughs, commenting that Jota's Stand is just like Star Platinum. He then compliments Jota, stating that he is living the dream by having Jotaro as a father. Josuke is jealous, explaining that he feels really good whenever he is with Jotaro and asks if Jota understands and Jota answers that he always just feels irritated. Josuke then asks another question, asking what kind of person Jota's mother is. Jota questions what he means by "what kind" but is interrupted by a voice he happily recognizes that calls to him.
It is Kakyoin, who's come to tell Jota that he has forgotten to bring the package he needed to be delivered to Jotaro, so he brought it himself instead. Jota is irritated that Jotaro is also there. This is due to his feelings of loving his mother but resenting his father, which he has been doing since he was a kid. A small note clarifies that Jotaro didn't greet Jota but did go to see Kakyoin. Josuke realizes that Kakyoin is Jota's mom, and he loudly questions Jota. Josuke exclaims that this is great, complimenting Jotaro with how he is raising a teenage son at his age and even more amazing that his wife is a man. Josuke then states their love really touches him. In the final note, it is explained that even though Jota and Josuke are close friends, they just can't agree on the subject of Jotaro. This incident marks the time Jota first understood the fragility of friendships.
