Yoshikage Kira (吉良 吉影, Kira Yoshikage) was confirmed to return for All-Star Battle R during the game's initial announcement trailer.[1] He is also part of the game's current demo alongside Joseph Joestar, Jolyne Cujoh, Jotaro Kujo, and DIO.
His moveset is fundamentally the same as his from All-Star Battle, with a few tweaks being made to both balance the character and fit him into the overall gameplay tweaks that All-Star Battle R brought.
In the English localization of the game, Kira's Stand, Killer Queen, is localized as "Deadly Queen", carried on from its All-Star Battle debut.
Replacing Kira's previous voice actor, Rikiya Koyama, is Toshiyuki Morikawa, who has voiced him since the Diamond is Unbreakable anime adaptation. Because of this, and like the majority of the game's roster, voicelines for Kira were either added or re-recorded.
Kira has 950 health and uses the Stand (スタンド, Sutando) Battle Style, fighting foes with Killer Queen. During a fight, he can use various moves from his appearance in Diamond is Unbreakable.
When Kira steps forward in his animation, he now actually stays moved forward when he steps back rather than moving back and being in the same place he was when he started the attack.
Crouching Medium Attack
+ ON GROUND
Kira shifts forward farther than he did in All-Star Battle.
Crouching Heavy Attack
+ ON GROUND
Killer Queen is summoned slightly more forward than it was in All-Star Battle, leading to the attack reaching farther now.
Style/Specials/Etc. [Stand Off] (スタイル/特殊技/その他)
It's your fate to be defeated here...
+ ON GROUND WHEN DOWNED
This command normal now causes a groundbounce on hit rather than normal hitstun. Additionally, the input for this command normal has changed. Previously it was in place of . The translation for the name of this skill has also changed slightly. Previously it was "It's your fate to be defeated" instead of "It's your fate to be defeated here..."
Ha!
+ // ON GROUND
Killer Queen does not move as far forward during it's punch rush as it does in All-Star Battle. The last hit also no longer causes a hard knockdown, instead launching the opponent.
Skills [Stand Off] (コマンド技)
Anything can be a bomb. [☆]
+ // ON GROUND WHEN DOWNED TRAP
This move executes faster than it did in All-Star Battle due to the fact that there is no longer a pause between Killer Queen turning the coin into a bomb and flicking it. The animation has been sped up to reflect this. There is also no longer a special sound or visual effect for when Killer Queen turns the coin into a bomb. Additionally, the explosion from the coin is now a High rather than an Unblockable and the damage no longer increases as the strength of the button inputted does. The skill can now be used to hit downed opponents as well. The distance the coin travels for the and variants of this skill has changed.
Light (: The coin is not flicked as far as it was in All-Star Battle and does not travel as far forward when it hits the ground.
Heavy (): The coin is flicked slightly farther than it was in All-Star Battle and travels farther along the ground, resulting in it having more range.
If Kira is hit with the explosion from this skill, he will no longer be launched away from the explosion, instead only suffering the damage.
Blown to pieces!
(When ☆ skill is active) + // ON GROUND WHEN DOWNED
The input for this skill has been changed. Previously it was + 2 ATK Buttons in place of + //. Also, these bombs can now hit downed opponents.
Ha!
+ // ON GROUND
Killer Queen does not move forward while punching now. Instead, it quickly travels forward a set distance and then begins its barrage. This travel distance is shorter than the overall distance Killer Queen would cover in All-Star Battle.
Normals [Stand On] (通常技)
Standing Medium Attack
ON GROUND
Killer Queen moves forward slightly when performing this attack now, giving it more range.
Standing Heavy Attack
ON GROUND
Killer Queen moves farther forward than it did in All-Star Battle, giving this normal more range. It also hits twice now instead of only once.
Crouching Medium Attack
+ ON GROUND
Killer Queen moves farther forward than it did in All-Star Battle, giving this normal more range.
Crouching Heavy Attack
+ ON GROUND
When stretching out, Killer Queen positions itself farther forward than it did in All-Star Battle, leading to this normal having more range.
Skills [Stand On] (コマンド技)
The First Bomb [☆]
+ // ON GROUND WHEN DOWNED
This skill now launches the opponent rather than dealing normal hitstun. It has also lost its ability to be Flash Canceled. Additionally, the translation for the name of this skill has been changed. Previously, it was "Here's the first bomb" instead of "The First Bomb". Each variant of the skill has its own changes as well.
Light (): The startup on this variant is much faster than it was in All-Star Battle.
Medium (): This variant no longer has both Killer Queen and Kira moving forward; instead, only Killer Queen moves forward. It then returns to its original position after it finishes its attack.
Heavy (): This variant is no longer Unblockable; instead, it is now a High. As a trade off, Killer Queen now moves even farther forward than it does for the variant.
Blown to pieces!
(When ☆ skill is active) + // ON GROUND WHEN DOWNED
The input for this skill has been changed. Previously it was + 2 ATK Buttons in place of + //. Also, these bombs can now hit downed opponents.
You bastard!
+ // ON GROUND
The last hit of this punch barrage no longer launches the opponent away. Killer Queen now also moves forward while it is delivering its punch barrage instead of moving a distance forward and then starting its attack. To compliment this, Killer Queen moves a farther total distance than it did in All-Star Battle. The number of hits for each variant of the skill has been standardized as well to match the variant. Because of this, the damage has also been standardized.
Calm and cool
+ // ON GROUND
Upon a successful activation, this skill can now be Flash Canceled, allowing Kira to combo off it.
Heart Heat Attack / Great Heat Attack (HHA / GHA)
Sheer Heart Attack
+ 3 ATK Buttons or
ON GROUND WHEN DOWNED
Sheer Heart Attack moves faster than it did in All-Star Battle. However, it's start up is now longer. Additionally, if the opponent gets past SHA, it will no longer accelerate out of the boundaries of the stage; instead, it will now continue tracking the opponent until it connects, Kira is hit, or his HHG runs out.
Sheer Heart Attack can no longer be slowed down by Koichi Hirose's "S-H-I-T" skill as ACT3's punch barrage no longer touches the floor and therefore cannot reach SHA.
