Iggy (イギー, Igī) was confirmed to return for All-Star Battle R during the game's initial announcement trailer.[1] He was also 1 of 15 playable characters during the Evo 2022 Demo in August 5.[3]
His moveset is fundamentally the same as his from All-Star Battle, with a few tweaks being made to both balance the character and fit him into the overall gameplay tweaks that All-Star Battle R brought.
Replacing Shigeru Chiba, Misato Fukuen reprises her role as Iggy's voice actress from the Stardust Crusaders anime adaptation. As with the majority of the game's roster, voicelines for Iggy were either added or re-recorded.
Iggy has 800 health and uses the Stand (スタンド, Sutando) Battle Style, fighting foes with The Fool. During a fight, he can use several different attacks that were featured in Stardust Crusaders.
Unlike the rest of the roster, when his stand is not summoned, Iggy takes chip damage from normal attacks and cannot recover his guard gauge. When combined with his small health pool, it can make blocking extremely punishing. Also unique to Iggy is his ability to automatically escape universal throws at the cost of white health.
Iggy jumps forward, attacking out with his front legs.

Style/Specials/Etc. [Stand Off] (スタイル/特殊技/その他)
Stand On/Off (スタンドON/OFF, Sutando ON/OFF)
ON GROUND
Switches between User Mode and Stand Mode. Doing so summons or dismisses The Fool, changing the skills Iggy has access to.
Sand Dome
+ ON GROUND CHARGEABLE
Iggy uses The Fool to instantly block attacks using the Heart Heat Gauge in place of the Guard Gauge by turning it into a hard dome made of sand (similar to how he hid underwater from Pet Shop), lasting as long as the inputted button is held, the opponent attempts to Throw Iggy, or until the HHG empties. Because the directional input and style button must be pressed at the same time for this skill to activate, Iggy cannot summon The Fool's dome while walking backwards. He must stop moving before activating it. However, the dome can be summoned at any point while Iggy is guarding by inputting the Style button. This skill automatically defends against all attack types except Throws, including Unblockables, protecting Iggy from high-low mix-up attempts. No chip damage will be taken while Iggy is in the dome.
Hang Glider
/ (Hold to extend duration) IN AIR OK
The Fool sprouts glider wings made of sand, slowly carrying Iggy through the air. They will slowly descend as they travel, and will glide until the input is released, Iggy touches the ground, or inputs an attack.
Way to run!
ON GROUND
Iggy runs away from the opponent. His run speed while running away is slower than it is when he runs towards opponents.
Aerial Chain Beat
// IN AIR OK
While in mid-air, Iggy can chain his aerial normal attacks together in order of increasing power, much like any other character could on the ground.
You callin' me tiny?!
Passive
An effect exclusive to Iggy as the smallest character in the game: Iggy automatically deflects any attempts to Throw him. However, he will still take the damage from the Throw in the form of white health that can be regained after a certain amount of time if Iggy successfully avoids being hit. He can also still be thrown by character-specific command throws. While in User Mode, Iggy will take chip damage from normal attacks, and his guard gauge will not recover. He also has one of the fastest movement speeds in the game.
Rumble Mode (ゴゴゴモード, Gogogo Mōdo)
Activates below 30% health
This mode is automatically activated once Iggy falls below 30% health. It increases his attack power, as well as the rate at which the Heart Heat Gauge rises, while also decreasing the rate at which the Guard Gauge drops.
Skills [Stand Off] (コマンド技)
A "nasty" habit
+ // ON GROUND IN AIR OK
Iggy leaps forward in an upwards arc, aimed at the opponent's head. If he connects, he'll chew on their hair and fart in their face before jumping off, dealing damage and leaving them crumpling to the ground. The distance Iggy leaps increases in order, but the greater the increase, the more vulnerable Iggy becomes. This skill can be used while in mid-air, changing its attack type, and can be used to cancel "Hang Glider". (Comboable)
Attack type: High (grounded) / Middle (airborne) Damage: 50
DIO Doppelganger
+ // ON GROUND
Iggy generates a sand clone of Shadow DIO that runs forward to attack with a multi-hitting melee strike before dispersing. The first hit of the strike crumples the opponent while the second one launches them into the air. The distance the doppelganger runs and damage dealt increases in order, but the greater the increase, the more vulnerable Iggy becomes. If the variant is used, the doppelganger will perform two multi-hitting strikes, with the second strike launching the opponent away. The clone can be destroyed if it is hit by the opponent. (Flash Cancel comboable)
The Fool swings one of its front legs inward while it's straight out.
Attack type: High Damage: 15
Standing Heavy Attack
ON GROUND
The Fool moves forward and swings both of its front legs down.
Attack type: High Damage: 32
Crouching Light Attack
+ ON GROUND
The Fool swipes out at the opponent's legs.
Attack type: Low Damage: 10
Crouching Medium Attack
+ ON GROUND
The Fool swings one of its front legs upwards, attacking with the back of its paw.
Attack type: High Damage: 15
Crouching Heavy Attack
+ ON GROUND
The Fool swings one of its front legs outward in a sweep, knocking to the opponent to the ground in a hard knockdown if hit.
Attack type: Low Damage: 34
Jumping Light Attack
IN AIR OK
The Fool performs an aerial jab with one of its front legs.
Attack type: Middle Damage: 12
Jumping Medium Attack
IN AIR OK
The Fool attacks at a downward angle with its tires, spinning them as it does so in a multi-hitting attack.
Attack type: Middle Damage: 8 × 4 (32)
Jumping Heavy Attack
IN AIR OK
The Fool swings both of its front legs downward, one after the other, in a two-hitting attack. When The Fool's second front leg swings down, it and Iggy move forward.
Attack type: Middle Damage: 18 × 2 (36)
Style/Specials/Etc. [Stand On] (スタイル/特殊技/その他)
Iggy will glide forward at the height the special was inputted until either the input is released, Iggy reaches the opponent, or an attack is inputted.
While in Stand Mode, Iggy can jump cancel most all of his normals, with the only exception being his Crouching Light Attack.
Skills [Stand On] (コマンド技)
The Fool
+ // ON GROUND
The Fool rushes forward in a shoulder charge, knocking the opponent into the air if it lands. The distance the Fool travels and the number of hits, and therefore damage, dealt increase in order, but the greater the increase, the more vulnerable Iggy becomes. The variant causes a groundbounce after launching the opponent into the air. This is a Stand Rush skill that Iggy can disconnect from to attack the opponent while it is executing. (Flash Cancel comboable)
The Fool delivers an upward strike with its two front limbs. This skill knocks the opponent into the air on hit and is capable of reflecting non-HHA/GHA projectiles. The number of hits, and therefore damage, increases in order, but the greater the increase, the more vulnerable Iggy becomes. This is a Stand Rush skill that Iggy can disconnect from to attack the opponent while it is executing. (Comboable)
The Fool cloaks itself around Iggy while mimicking his appearance to appear natural and strikes a pose. If it is struck by a non-HHA/GHA melee attack, "Ha ha, sucker!" will automatically be triggered. The startup decreases in order, but the shorter the startup, the longer the recovery. If the counter is not triggered, Iggy will be forced into User Mode.
Attack type: Counter
Ha ha, sucker!
Activates when "Too easy!" is successfully triggered
If the opponent's non-HHA/GHA melee attack hits Iggy while "Too easy!" is in effect, The Fool bursts into sand, protecting Iggy and sending them flying while dealing damage if in-range. (Flash Cancel comboable) Unlike other counterattacks, if the opponent is quick enough, it is possible for them to Flash Cancel and guard or otherwise be missed by the counterattack, even if they trigger it pointblank, though the timing is tight if they are not prepared.
Attack type: High Damage: 60
Throw (投げ技)
Get your ass in gear!
2 ATK buttons near opponent or ( to back-throw) ON GROUND
If performing a forward-throw, The Fool holds the opponent's legs in place as Iggy jumps off of the Stand to kick them away with all four of his legs. If back-throwing, The Fool grabs the opponent's legs and Iggy jumps on The Fool's back before it wheels around the opponent, using its momentum to knock them off balance. Iggy then jumps off of the Stand's back to kick them away with all four of his legs.
Attack type: Throw Damage: 85
Heart Heat Attack / Great Heat Attack (HHA / GHA)
Surround 'em!
+ 2 ATK Buttons
ON GROUND WHEN DOWNED
Snarling, Iggy creates a wave of sand on the ground that rapidly travels forward with him inside. If it connects, The Fool manifests and lifts the opponent high into the air before forcefully piledriving them into the ground as Iggy wakes up from a brief nap. This HHA is capable of hitting a downed opponent.
Attack type: High Damage: 142
Serves you right!
+ 3 ATK Buttons or
ON GROUND
Iggy gnashes his teeth as The Fool generates a massive sand wave in a large area in front of him. If it connects, The Fool manifests itself and transforms into its glider form to knock the opponent into the air. It then transforms into sand and blasts the airborne opponent with sand spikes, followed by a sharp wheel attack before spiking them towards the ground. The Fool then rushes downward before Iggy himself bursts out of the Stand, diving towards the opponent from above and biting them on the nose (similar to his victory over Pet Shop).
In his alternate costume, Iggy's GHA changes; Instead of biting the opponent's nose, he will clamp onto their head and fart in their face before kicking off (reenacting his initial encounter with Polnareff).
Attack type: High Damage: 348 / 417 / 522 (depending on HH gauge)
Assist System (アシストシステム)
Assault Assist (アサルトアシスト, Asaruto Ashisuto)
ON GROUND
A two-stock assist. Iggy runs in and summons the Fool to rush forward in a shoulder charge, knocking the opponent into the air and bouncing them off the ground if it lands. He then dismisses his Stand and poses before running back off-screen.
Attack type: High Damage: 85
Reversal Assist (リバーサルアシスト, Ribāsaru Ashisuto)
ON GROUND
A one-stock assist. Iggy and The Fool jump into the opponent, with The Fool swinging both its front legs down to knock the opponent away. Iggy then dismisses his Stand and poses before running back off-screen.
Iggy doesn't jump as far forward as he did in All-Star Battle, giving this normal less range.
Style/Specials/Etc. [Stand Off] (スタイル/特殊技/その他)
Sand Dome
+ ON GROUND CHARGEABLE
Iggy can no longer activate the dome while walking backwards and must stop moving before inputting the command to successfully execute this special now. However, he can now activate it while guarding by holding the guard and inputting the Style () button. The Heart Heat Gauge also drains significantly slower than it did in All-Star Battle while this special is activated.
Hang Glider
/ (Hold to extend duration) IN AIR OK
Because Iggy jumps higher than he did in All-Star Battle, he can glide slightly longer than he could before, meaning he travels slightly farther.
Aerial Chain Beat
// IN AIR OK
This special is new to All-Star Battle R.
You callin' me tiny?!
Passive
When Iggy is thrown, he will still automatically deflect it, but he will now take damage in the form of white health.
Skills [Stand Off] (コマンド技)
A "nasty" habit
+ // ON GROUND IN AIR OK
Iggy leaps forward a much greater distance than he did in All-Star Battle. When used in the air, the attack now becomes a Middle rather than staying a High. Additionally, the attack now crumples the opponent when it connects, allowing Iggy to combo after successfully landing this skill. However, it no longer has invulnerability on startup, meaning it no longer works well as a reversal.
DIO Doppelganger
+ // ON GROUND
The Fool's DIO Doppelganger will no longer attack twice unless the variant is used, and when it is, the first attack is now a High rather than a Middle. This also means that the first attack now launches opponents, that way, all variants will still launch. However, because of this, the variant launches the opponent twice, with the first attack launching them at a steep upward angle while the second launches them away from Iggy into a hard knockdown. Additionally, the DIO Doppelganger's first attack deals more hits, with it dealing two for the and variants, and three for the variant. All these changes result in the attack dealing varying damage now based on the attack button inputted rather than staying the same across all variants. The Doppelganger's forward travel distance also now varies based on the attack button inputted rather than staying the same.
Normals [Stand On] (通常技)
Standing Heavy Attack
ON GROUND
The Fool now moves forward before swinging its legs down, giving this attack more range.
Style/Specials/Etc. [Stand On] (スタイル/特殊技/その他)
Hang Glider
(Hold to extend duration) IN AIR OK
When Iggy cancels a normal attack with this special, he can now use another normal after it.
You callin' me tiny?!
Passive
When Iggy is thrown, he will still automatically deflect it, but he will now take damage in the form of white health.
Skills [Stand On] (コマンド技)
The Fool
+ // ON GROUND
The Fool does not travel as far as it did in All-Star Battle, but it returns to Iggy much quicker now. It also deals an increasing number of hits and amount of damage based on what attack button is inputted. Furthermore, the variant now causes a groundbounce on hit instead of only a soft knockdown.
Get outta here!
+ // ON GROUND
When hit by this skill, opponents are now knocked into the air instead of to the ground, making it possible to combo off a successful hit. The number of hits also now increases based on what attack button is inputted. Additionally, this skill can now be Stand Rushed.
Too easy!
+ // ON GROUND
Instead of being a counter that remains active until it is triggered or otherwise deactivated, it is a counter that stays active for a set amount of time. As such, Iggy is no longer able to act while the skill is active and will instead strike a pose for the duration. It also means that the counter can no longer be triggered while Iggy is airborne.
Ha ha, sucker!
Activates when "Too easy!" is successfully triggered
This counterattack now deals damage and leaves Iggy in Stand Mode rather than User Mode.
Heart Heat Attack / Great Heat Attack (HHA / GHA)
Surround 'em!
+ 2 ATK Buttons
ON GROUND WHEN DOWNED
When the attack is whiffed, Iggy's forward momentum will continue until he hits the stage wall or is otherwise stopped by the opponent instead of stopping once The Fool, along with the hitbox, disappears. His momentum is enough that if the opponent does not hit Iggy to stop his momentum, he will push them to the stage wall. This does not change his recovery time.
General Changes
Iggy's run speed in Stand Mode has been decreased.
The player's health is decreased. The opponent's health continuously refills.
