Egypt (エジプト, Ejiputo) is a major location featured in the third part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Stardust Crusaders. It is where DIO was hiding until the Joestar Group became aware of his revival and sought out to destroy him.[1] It is also the home of Muhammad Avdol as well as a few other characters.

Some of the history of the country is shared through the short story Iggy the Stray Dog.

Summary

Egypt is a large country in northeast corner of Africa that is connected to the Middle East by the Sinai Peninsula. It is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the north and has an approximate area of 1,010 km² as well as a population of just over 100 million people.[2]

During the events of Stardust Crusaders the country serves as the hideout for DIO and his minions.

Sometime in the year 1986 a secretive young man in an archelolgical excavation of the country found some buried arrows that he sold to an old woman named Enya Geil.[3] This woman then turned to DIO and unleahed the Stand manifesting powers of them awakening The World and the other Joestar Stands. Later in July of 1988, DIO went to search for Avdol in the country, who fled upon recognizing him from Joseph's stories. Then in August of the same year, he encounters Noriaki Kakyoin who is on vacation and brainwashes him into going after Jotaro.

Eventually, the group arrives in the country after their encounter with High Priestess only to be informed of nine more Stand Users loyal to DIO.[4] With their new ally in the form of a dog, the heroes begin searching the country for DIO, their only clue being the spirit photographs taken by Hermit Purple. As they get closer and closer to deafeating DIO once and for all, more and more of these remaining Stand Users block their path.

In the Steel Ball Run universe, the coutry is home to Urmd Avdul, who crosses the Sahara Desert on camel-back three times anually.[5]

Locations

During the events of Stardust Crusaders many cities in the country are visited by the Joestar Group, usullay situated along the Nile River. These cities include Aswan, Kom Ombo, Luxor, and the capital Cairo.
