The Nijimura Residence (虹村邸, Nijimura-tei) is a location featured in the fourth part of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, Diamond is Unbreakable. It is a home situated in the Japanese town of Morioh.
Seemingly abandoned for several years, Josuke Higashikata enters the home to save Koichi Hirose after he is shot with an arrow and dragged inside. It's inhabitants, a pair of brothers, stealthily use the Bow and Arrow to create Stand users in Morioh.
Located in the suburbs of Morioh, the Nijimura residence is a Victorian-style three-story home. Over the years, the home has deteriorated, its exterior now sporting overgrown foliage, and weathered to the point where the brick underneath is exposed. At some point, the home's windows and front door were boarded up, with several "no trespassing" signs being placed around the surrounding gate. The sign on the home's front gate changes from saying "no trespassing" (立入禁止) to saying "no passing" (立禁止), after The Hand erases the space while trying to attack Josuke.[2] Additionally, following Josuke's battle with Keicho Nijimura, several rooms in the home are significantly damaged.
Most of the home's rooms are empty, lacking any furniture or notable qualities. The lone exception, an attic on the 3rd floor, houses the patriarch of the Nijimura family, Mansaku Nijimura, along with Keicho's bow and arrow. The home was believed by Koichi to be abandoned for about 3-4 years, with nearby realtors making sure squatters haven't inhabited the home.[3] According to Okuyasu, Mansaku is the owner of the home.[4] The home is close to the Higashikata residence. [5]
Sometime in 1989, after he began receiving money and treasures from DIO, Mansaku Nijimura moved from Tokyo to Morioh with his two sons. One day, when returning home from school, a young Keicho discovers Okuyasu crying in front of the house crying. Assuming their father had been beating him, Keicho goes to confront Mansaku, only to find him deforming in the kitchen. Mansaku has been implanted with a flesh bud by DIO, and upon his death, the flesh bud went haywire, slowly transforming him into his current monstrous state. [6]
At some point after Mansaku's transformation, Keicho comes into ownership of Enya the Hag's bow and arrow. At some point in the mid-90s, the home is considered abandoned by locals, and the windows and front entrance are boarded up. In the years prior to the start of Diamond is Unbreakable, Keicho begins shooting random passersby with the bow and arrow, in hopes of creating a Stand user who can kill his father.
One day, while walking home from school with Josuke, Koichi notices a person standing in a window on the second floor of the home. The two discuss the abandoned and decrepit state of the home, with Josuke doubting that anyone is in the home. As Koichi looks through the front gate of the home, someone suddenly kicks the gate closed, strangling Koichi. The person, Okuyasu Nijimura, proceeds to taunt Josuke, until an arrow suddenly pierces Koichi through the throat. Okuyasu looks up to see his brother, Keicho, who informs him that Josuke was the person who took down Anjuro Katagiri, and orders him to kill Josuke. When Okuyasu takes his foot off of the gate, Koichi falls to the floor, leading Keicho to remark that Koichi failed to manifest a Stand and will die soon.
Keicho begins berating Okuyasu, warning him to take the situation seriously and use his Stand to quickly kill Josuke. Josuke quickly punches Okuyasu away, and runs to check on Koichi's condition. Okuyasu rushes back to Josuke and summons his stand, The Hand, repeatedly attempting to strike Josuke with it's right hand. Josuke, taking note of this, uses Crazy Diamond to stop The Hand from striking him. After The Hand accidentally strikes the front gate of the home, Josuke notices that the "no trespassing" sign now says "no passing", and realizes that the Stand can erase space. Okuyasu confirms this, using the power to transport Josuke closer to him, but accidentally sends several flower pots crashing into him and knocks himself unconscious. After remarking upon Okuyasu's stupidity, Josuke notices Koichi being dragged into the home.
When Keicho is confronted by Josuke in the home's foyer, he tells him that he needs the arrow back essential to his mission. Just as Josuke begins approaching Keicho, Okuyasu enters, and is accidentally struck in the face by an attack from his brother's stand, Bad Company. While trying to discern where the attacks are coming from, Josuke hears Keicho continuing to belittle his brother, and eventually decides to retreat to the outside with Okuyasu. Keicho believes that Josuke won't abandon Koichi, and walks upstairs.
Outside, Josuke tells Okuyasu that he'll heal him in exchange for information about Keicho's Stand. Despite Okuyasu's refusal, he heals him anyway, telling him that there was no reason to die, before heading inside the house again. Josuke closes in on a room where Koichi, acknowledging that while it might be a trap, he has to risk it to save him. Just then, Okuyasu sneaks up on Josuke, and uses The Hand to pull Koichi out of the room. After healing Koichi, he begins to scope the room, believing that Keicho wouldn't just let them escape unharmed. After spotting something moving, the two eventually see the true form of Bad Company - an entire army of miniature soldiers. As the army begins another attack, Josuke escapes into another room with Koichi.
In the other room, the two find that there are several military vehicles also ready to attack. When Koichi points out the presence of tanks, Josuke realizes that Koichi must now be a Stand user after being healed. On the other side of the room, past his army, is Keicho, who asks for Koichi to try to manifest his Stand. While he wants to see if Koichi's Stand has the power he's searching for, he also tells Josuke that he may benefit since the Stand may make up for Crazy Diamond's range. When Josuke's advice fails, Keicho has a Bad Company soldier stab Koichi's face, leading him to summon his Stand in the form of an egg.
Upon seeing a crack form in the egg, Keicho launches another attack on the two. Josuke kicks the egg out of the room, launching Koichi along with it. As Josuke decides to face Keicho head on, the latter explains to him in exact detail how he will kill him, and launches his final attack. Josuke makes his way towards Keicho, deflecting as much artillery as he can with Crazy Diamond, also being hit by a land mine and two missiles on the way there. When Josuke sits in the center of the room, Keicho assumes he is admitting defeat, but the victory is short-lived after Bad Company's missiles turn back towards him.
With Keicho knocked out, Josuke wants to leave, but Koichi insists on getting the bow and arrow, even if it's alone. They approach an attic room, where they can see the bow and arrow hanging on the wall, but can also hear a chain and scratching noises. As they're about to kick in the door, a monstrous hand grabs Koichi's leg and drags him in. Josuke attacks the creature behind it, unintentionally severing it's arm, before noticing it immediately regenerate a new arm. Just then, Keicho enters the room, and informs the two that the creature is his father.
Keicho tells the story of how his father became this way, and repeatedly states that his father doesn't even remember his own children. He confesses that he needs the arrow to create a Stand user who will be able to destroy his father, believing that only then will he start living. Frustrated at seeing Keicho repeatedly abuse his father, Josuke uses Crazy Diamond to restore a photograph that their father was searching for. The photograph is of the Nijimura family all together, proving that he remembered his children all along.
As Josuke advises Keicho to look for a Stand user who could possibly heal their father instead, a tearful Okuyasu enters the room, and urges him to take his advice. Keicho rejects this, and tells him that since he doesn't see Okuyasu as his brother anymore, he won't hesitate to kill him. Just then, Josuke notices someone watching through the sunroof. A Stand made of electricity emerges out of an electrical outlet in the wall, and reaches to strike Okuyasu. Keicho pushes his brother out of the way, and is punched through the torso by the Stand, which also steals the bow and arrow. Keicho attempts to attack the Stand to no avail, and belittles Okuyasu one final time before being dragged through the outlet. On the roof, Josuke and Okuyasu spot Keicho's body on a power line, with Josuke assuring Okuyasu that Keicho protected him in his final moments.
Following Keicho's death, Okuyasu enrolls at Budogaoka High School, becoming classmates with Josuke and Koichi. According to Koichi, Okuyasu continues to live in the house with his father, and has enough money in his savings to live there for 5 or 6 more years.[7]
After the defeat of Kira, Stray Cat takes a liking to Mansaku, and begins living with them.
