Personality
Compared to Zucchero, Sale is a more careful, ambitious and methodical man. He appears more focused than his partner Mario Zucchero, coming to the conclusion that 6 billion lire would drastically improve his standing within Passione.[3] Opportunistic, he and Zucchero work as a duo to secure Polpo's treasure, brave enough to oppose Bucciarati's team of six individually.Sale shows a certain degree of intelligence and cunning; firstly having predicted that Bucciarati was the most likely of Polpo's subordinates to have hidden the treasure and guess that he would act to seize the treasure.[4] Despite hearing from Zucchero that he'd practically defeated Team Bucciarati, Sale was also careful enough to not reveal himself on Capri, even taking the precaution to try contacting Zucchero secretly when Giorno tried to lure him out.[5] He has also mastered his Stand to a high degree, not only using the obvious effect of locking people into places and protect himself from projectiles,[6] but also using Kraft Work to use rocks as stepping stones[7] or purposefully locking a projectile in place to tap and accumulate kinetic energy.[8]
However, Sale also demonstrates some degree of overconfidence in combat, explaining his every move to Mista and claiming his Stand's superiority.[9]
Abilities
Stand
Kraft Work is a humanoid close-range Stand which can fixate any object it touches in space.
History
Vento Aureo
Sale and his partner Mario Zucchero are gangsters belonging to the gang Passione and are both Stand users.
After Polpo's death, the two discuss the consequences of that death. Sale explains that rumor has it that Polpo had a stash of treasures that is now open, and that Bucciarati is the most likely gangster to know about it. Eager to take the treasure, Zucchero leaps out of the still-moving car, leaving a stunned Sale to take the wheel himself. Zucchero eventually calls him through the radio and informs him that Team Bucciarati is headed for Capri on a sailing boat. Sale decides to use a motor boat to arrive at the island first and awaits Zucchero's arrival.
At the marina, Sale hears the manager of the radio mention an urgent call from "Mr. Zucchero". Surprised and suspicious, Sale enters the radio room is secret through the back door and tries to have Zucchero explain himself. However, it is a setup from Giorno and Guido Mista. Sale sees Mista through the window and Giorno shouts through the radio, warning his partner. Mista notices him, so Sale swiftly closes the window's shutters and sprints out of the room, but Mista shoots through the glass and Sex Pistols manages to kick a bullet into his lower right leg. Injured, Sale hides on a truck parked just outside and waits for Mista, who is now trailing him. The truck starts and Mista jumps onto its side. Mista sees that the driver is not the enemy and shoots a bullet into the head of Sale, who is now standing on the roof of the truck, but Kraft Work stops the bullet at the skull. After being knocked down by the force of the bullet Sale stands back up, cursing Mista.
Sale deducts that he must kill Mista to regain his anonymity. Mista shoots again three times, but Sale reveals his Kraft Work and easily deflects each bullet. His gun empty, Mista tries to get away from the truck but realizes that he's stuck to the handle. The driver too is stuck in a driving position, and bullets are seen floating alongside Sale. Sale gloats about the treasure and throws a Stand punch, but the gunslinger reveals that he's hidden bullets inside his hat. He shakes his head, the bullets falling down and redirected inside the chambers by Sex Pistols, and shoots again at point-blank range. While Kraft Work deflects the first bullet, it is too slow to block the second one hidden behind. Sale is hit in the throat and falls off the truck, freeing Mista from his ability. However, the fight isn't over yet.
Sale manages to catch on the truck because of the winding road and by throwing locked pebbles in the air to scale them. Sale reveals that Kraft Work has been tapping a bullet for some time. Releasing the bullet, he manages to shoot Mista with his own bullet by stocking kinetic energy up. Hit in the gut, Mista misses three shots while Sale jumps back onto the truck.
Sale then resumes tapping another bullet to finish off Mista, but the gunslinger, encouraged by the fact that he hasn't four bullets anymore, proudly announces that his last shot will be the decisive one. Mista shoots, but Sale opens his mouth, showing that even if he was hit inside his body, Kraft Work would still block the bullet. Announcing his victory, Sale releases his own bullet, but Sex Pistols has hijacked it, exploiting Sale's overconfidence and kicking it back into him. Summoning in Kraft Work, Sale sees too late that Sex Pistols has kicked the bullet to crack it in two and one of the shards hits right into the bullet Mista put in Sale's head earlier. Having a bullet pushed into his brain, Sale falls to the ground, defeated. Sale somehow manages to survive and is left unconscious on Bucciarati's boat.[11]
Purple Haze Feedback
Sale and Zucchero are forced to take on the mission to exterminate the drugs team in order to prove their loyalty. He infiltrates the warehouse the drugs team is in at Villa San Giovanni with the help of his partner's Stand ability. He slips into the warehouse first in an attempt to dispatch the two members of the drugs team inside, Vittorio Cataldi and Angelica Attanasio. Unfortunately, his sanity is drained by Angelica's Stand and he faces Vittorio with a clouded mind, leaving him unable to make rational decisions. He manages to land a blow square in Vittorio's chest, but his stand's power is turned against him which resulted in his heart launching itself from his body, leading to his death.
