It serves as a setting in two parts of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, first featured in the second part Battle Tendency before serving as the sole setting of the fifth part Vento Aureo, as well as its related non-canon light novels.

Venice

Venice (ヴェネツィア, Venetsia, Venezia in Italian, Venesia in Venetian) is the home of Lisa Lisa, and off its coast lies Air Supplena Island, where Joseph Joestar and Caesar Zeppeli train in the Ripple.

The city's Ponte della Libertà (リベルタ橋, Riberuta-hashi) is later the site of a battle between Giorno Giovanna, Guido Mista, and Ghiaccio. Once in the city proper, Narancia Ghirga protects his teammates from Squalo and Tizzano. Venice is also the location of the island San Giorgio Maggiore and its San Giorgio Monastery, where Diavolo makes his presence known to Bruno Bucciarati and his gang.

Venice is also the setting of the GioGio's Bizarre Adventure II: Golden Heart, Golden Ring light novel, being the home of Coniglio and Sogliola Lopez.

Volcano Island

Volcano Island (ヴォルガノ島, Vorugano-tō)[a] is a volcanic island in the Tyrhennian Sea. It is where Joseph Joestar fights Kars, who has turned into the Ultimate Thing. Joseph triggers a violent volcanic eruption, which helps defeat Kars.

Naples (ナポリ, Napori, Napoli in Italian, Napule in Neapolitan) is Giorno Giovanna's hometown, and it is here that he first meets Koichi Hirose who has come to find him at Jotaro Kujo's request as he is one of DIO's children. Naples is also where Polpo is imprisoned, leading to Giorno's induction into Passione and as one of Bruno Bucciarati's subordinates. At the train station in Naples, the team later encounters the turtle Coco Jumbo.

Capri

The Isle of Capri (カプリ島, Kapuri-tō, Isola di Capri) is the site of Giorno's first job as part of Team Bucciarati: to find Polpo's fortune. On the way to the island, they are assailed by Mario Zucchero, leading to Leone Abbacchio to need to use his Moody Blues and on the island Guido Mista faces off with Sale. While still on Capri, the group has their next task assigned to them: protect Trish Una and bring her to a then undisclosed location. It is during this time that Narancia Ghirga is ambushed by Formaggio.

Pompeii

The ruins of Pompeii (ポンペイ, Ponpei, Pompei in Italian, Pompeii in Latin) are the location of a special "key" needed to ensure Trish's safe passage to Venice. In the ruins, Giorno, Abbacchio, and Pannacotta Fugo come face to face with Illuso, the first of La Squadra Esecuzioni the group meets.

Florence

As part of the task to protect Trish Una, the group takes a train from Naples to Florence (フィレンツェ, Firentse, Firenze), during which time they are attacked by Prosciutto and Pesci after leaving Naples' train station and while still on the train Melone.

Sardinia

Costa Smeralda

After fleeing Venice, Team Bucciarati takes an airplane to Sardinia (サルデーニャ島, Sarudēnya-tō, Sardegna in Italian, Sardigna in Sardininan). Before taking off they are attacked by Carne and discover his Stand Notorious B.I.G. It is in the Cala di Volpe (カーラ・ディ・ヴォルペ, Kāra di Vorupe) that Notorious B.I.G is disposed of in a location later known as Tyrrhenian's Stomach (ティレニアの胃袋, Tirenia no Ibukuro). Another part of Sardinia is the Costa Smeralda (コスタ・スメラルダ, Kosuta Sumeraruda) where Risotto Nero faces off with Vinegar Doppio.

In JORGE JOESTAR, north of Sardinia is Nero Nero Island.
