The Nijimura Brothers, Part 1 (虹村兄弟 その①, Nijimura Kyōdai Sono 1), originally The Mysterious Neighbor (謎の隣人, Nazo no Rinjin) in the WSJ release, is the ninth chapter of Diamond is Unbreakable and the two hundred seventy-fourth chapter of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure manga.

Summary

Koichi explains that the population of Morioh in 1994 was 58,000 and there were 81 missing people, a number seven or eight times higher than average for a town of that size. Despite these surprisingly high numbers, nobody pays attention to the matter except Jotaro and Josuke.

Koichi and Josuke discover an abandoned house several houses away from the Higashikata residence. Josuke says he would have noticed if anyone lives there because they are neighbors but Koichi says that if it was abandoned the real-estate agent would have sold it.

Koichi peers inside the gate and a student, Okuyasu Nijimura, comes out of the door, slamming the gate in Koichi's face. The man says not to trespass into other people's houses. From the upper floor, Okuyasu's older brother shoots Koichi with an Arrow and tells Okuyasu that the man with him is Josuke Higashikata. He says he thought Koichi had a potential for a Stand, but he got hurt by the Arrow so it seems he was wrong. Josuke rushes to heal Koichi with his Stand but Okuyasu stands in his way and reveals his own Stand, The Hand.
