Egypt
Egypt (エジプト, Ejiputo) is a location featured primarily in the third part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, Stardust Crusaders, and recurs in flashbacks in the fourth and fifth parts, Diamond is Unbreakable and Vento Aureo. It is where DIO was hiding until the Joestar Group became aware of his revival and sought out to destroy him.[1]
Summary
Egypt is a large country in northeast corner of Africa that is connected to the Middle East by the Sinai Peninsula. It is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the north and has an approximate area of 1,010,000 km² as well as a population of just over 100 million people.[2]
History
Background
Muhammad Avdol was born into the country in the 1960s as a natural born Stand user.
Iggy the Stray Dog
The information below derives from Iggy the Stray Dog which was not written by Araki. As such, it may not be considered canon.
In 1967, the Six-Day War took place in the country. Avdol's father was sent to fight in the the war, where he was killed, and Avdol's mother was killed by a Palestinian militia which had launched a mass shooting in Cairo, leaving him an orphan.

Eventually, Avdol would meet Joseph Joestar, who would tell him stories of vampire Dio Brando.
In 1983, Dio, now known as DIO, would have his casket rediscovered off of the coast of northern Africa, resetting him free into the world. He would etsablish a
Sometime in the year 1986 a secretive young man during an archelolgical excavation of the country found some buried supernatural arrows that he sold to an old woman named Enya Geil, but kept one for himself.[3] Enya would go on to give the arrows to her master DIO which she would use to awaken his Stand The World and the other Joestar Stands.
DIO would set up Egypt as his main base of operations in the heart of the country, Cairo. He obtained a mansion where he would meet with and give orders to his followers, including having several consultations with Enrico Pucci.
Two years later in July of 1988, DIO went to search for Avdol, who fled upon recognizing him from Joseph's stories. Then in August of the same year, he encounters Noriaki Kakyoin who is on vacation in the country and brainwashes him into going after Jotaro.
Stardust Crusaders
After Joseph takes a spirit photograph of DIO, Star Platinum's superhuman eyesight detectes a fly native to Egypt which Avdol recongizes. Upon determining that DIO is located in Egypt, Joesph, Avdol, Jotaro and Kakyoin all board a plane to the country to face him.[1] Their plane is attacked by the Stand Tower of Gray and ultimately crashes, forcing them to resume their journey to the country on land.
Eventually, the group arrives in the country after their encounter with High Priestess only to be informed of nine more Stand Users loyal to DIO.[4] With their new ally in the form of a dog, the heroes begin searching the country for DIO, their only clue being the spirit photographs taken by Hermit Purple. As they get closer and closer to deafeating DIO once and for all, more and more of these remaining Stand Users block their path.
Crazy Diamond's Demonic Heartbreak
The information below derives from Crazy Diamond's Demonic Heartbreak or its novelization Crazy Heartbreakers which were not written by Araki. As such, it may not be considered canon.
In March of 1999, around ten years after DIO's death, Kenny G. still uses his Stand to disguse DIO's Mansion and makes it a safe haven for DIO's former minions where he, Mariah, Oingo, and Boingo still live. As Hol Horse goes to reunite with them and try to find allies to help him find Pet Sounds at the request of an elderly lady, he is attacked by Mariah. After their fight Boing uses Thoth to find out that the parrot he is looking for is in a Japanese town called Morioh. Hol Horse and Boingo both leave to go to Morioh.[5]

Steel Ball Run
In the Steel Ball Run universe, the coutry is home to Urmd Avdul, who crosses the Sahara Desert on camel-back three times anually.[6]
Locations
During the events of Stardust Crusaders many cities in the country are visited by the Joestar Group, usullay situated along the Nile River. These cities include Aswan, Kom Ombo, Luxor, and the capital city Cairo.

All-Star Battle

- Stage Hazard: Wilson Phillips's car drives through the players on DIO's orders.
- Situation Finish: The loser is sent flying and crashing into a water tower, recreating Noriaki Kakyoin's death.
Eyes of Heaven

- Stage Hazard: Players knocked into the neon "AIR" sign will cause the individual letters to malfunction and fall forward, dealing additional damage to the victim and electrocuting anybody in range.
- Situation Finish: Loser is sent crashing into a water tower, recreating Kakyoin's death scene. If Kakyoin himself is the victim, the manga panel showing his death appears, and his body is left there for the rest of the match.
Last Survivor
Cairo was announced as the second stage in Last Survivor on November 24, 2020[8] and was released on December 16th of the same year.[9] Unlike Morioh, the Cairo stage is significantly smaller and only has one possible area to play in.
All-Star Battle R

A new Cairo Overpass stage was added, originally being a story-mode exclusive stage in Eyes of Heaven.
- Stage Hazard: After briefly stopping time, DIO throws a barrage of knives at the combatants.
- Situation Finish: Time stops and a road roller lands on the loser.
(Neither the Stage Hazard nor the Situation Finish will occur if DIO is one of the combatants.)
